00:00Please welcome back to The Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, and Jimmy Fallon!
00:09Stephen Colbert's final Late Show is May 21st, and until then, he's getting by with a little help from his
00:15friends.
00:16Kimmel, Fallon, Meyers, and Oliver.
00:19That's right, on Monday's show, Colbert was joined by his late-night colleagues.
00:23He joked that The Daily Show's Jon Stewart was the designated survivor for Late Night.
00:27Notably, Bravo's Andy Cohen was left out of the festivities.
00:31CBS previously announced that Colbert's show would be ending after he called his parent company, Paramount's $16 million settlement with
00:38Donald Trump, a, quote, big fat bribe.
00:41However, the company maintains canceling The Late Show was a financial decision.
00:45Meanwhile, over on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel has also been the target of the White House's efforts to censor, twice sparking
00:51a nationwide free speech debate.
00:53So, of course, he didn't miss an opportunity to joke about it.
00:56Don't worry, give me a few months, it'll be Strike Force 3.
00:59Yeah, that's good to say.
01:00When I got knocked off the air for a few days, people…
01:06Good luck saying anything serious with these guys on the couch.
01:09The Funny Fivesome also hosted a podcast, Strike Force 5, for 12 episodes during the 2023 Rider Strike.
01:16They dropped a new one on Wednesday, where Colbert name-dropped the distracting actress he was most wildly attracted to
01:23over the years.
01:24I didn't know what to do with my eyeballs when Michelle Williams was on for the first time.
01:28She sat down across from me and I went, what's wrong with my head? I cannot, I better not look
01:33directly at her for this entire interview.
01:35There was something about her, her vibe, her face, everything.
01:39Have you ever interviewed her?
01:40Yeah, yeah, she's wonderful.
01:41She's so beautiful.
01:42On May 21st, in a show of late-night solidarity, both Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy
01:48Fallon announced that they will go dark with reruns.
01:51Ahead of the final show, Colbert is saying goodbye with a bang after 11 seasons and a total of 30
01:56years on the air with previous host David Letterman.
01:59Here are a few of the confirmed guests.
02:01Tuesday, May 12th, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Pedro Pascal.
02:05Wednesday, May 13th, Barack Obama and Tom Hanks.
02:09Thursday, May 14th, David Letterman and a performance by The Strokes.
02:13The indie rock band recently delivered a pointed political message at Coachella on April 18th.
02:18The screens displayed confirmed and suspected instances of U.S. involvement in overthrowing foreign governments.
02:24Footage of destruction in Iran and a bombing in Gaza concluded the video statement.
02:29From music to late-night TV, clearly we are living in politically charged times.
