01:11to
01:11salacious how sexy is this season oh even episode one um you get a really nice moment from uh aiden
01:19turner yeah i mean it's a moment we all want to see i know it really it gets his poldock
01:26oh god sorry that wasn't meant to be a pun uh turns out it was um it's it's it's it's
01:33fantastic
01:34it is on a scale of one to salacious it is illegal oh are you talking about the horse
01:40oh oh the horse no no no no
01:45you know what when this comes out when this comes out you will not have to ask that question again
01:51another pun that's not intended yes yes it comes out yeah um this show makes this a little bit
01:56bodily i'm curious but it's pure escapism it is it is and it's you know it's fictional so i think
02:02we're allowed but also you know we're allowed to enjoy these things you're allowed to enjoy sex
02:06you're allowed to enjoy naughtiness and you know drinking champagne in the daytime it's yeah it's it's
02:14it's i think vic said this recently in an interview she said you're going to watch it and go why
02:18aren't
02:18i having sex like that and why aren't i having parties like that you know i think with the world
02:23the way it is right now we could all just do with a bit of fun and not take ourselves
02:26too seriously
02:27this is a problem because i haven't been in the real world and it's not it's not a sexist
02:31i bet i bet i mean god knows if tinder was around in 1987 could you imagine i don't think
02:40they needed
02:41it to be honest you could just you could just be cold my god couldn't it yeah the phone would
02:46melt
02:46down yeah let's let you get on darling it was so nice to see you lovely see you darling
03:06good to see you
03:08how are you my boys
03:12A lot.
03:13A lot.
03:14Obsessed. Thank you.
03:16They've put the two best dress together, accidentally.
03:18Oh, they need a thunk it.
03:19You shouldn't have done that. No.
03:21We're showing everybody up now, aren't we?
03:23Show everybody else up.
03:24You absolutely are.
03:26Listen, you know how much I love this show.
03:28I'm so glad you're back, but on a scale to one to salacious,
03:32how sexy is this season?
03:34Oh, it's just over... Is there a word that's better than salacious?
03:36No, salacious really, I think, sums the whole thing up.
03:39It's ten.
03:40We're gonna fucking gong it with a ten.
03:44Definitely.
03:44It's very salacious.
03:46It is. It's amazing.
03:47I love that.
03:47And, you know, the show makes us a little bit morally ambiguous,
03:50but that's alright. It's escapism, right?
03:52It is.
03:53I feel like, right now, in the current climate,
03:57everybody needs to escape the world that we live in.
04:00And I feel like Rivals is the perfect way to escape.
04:05Yeah, it's sort of bigger and brighter and bolder
04:09than ever before.
04:10Yeah.
04:10And I feel like the audience is gonna be really happy.
04:13I think.
04:14I hope.
04:15I've only seen three episodes, though.
04:16No, I haven't seen anything.
04:17Maybe it gets rubbish.
04:18I haven't seen anything at all.
04:20And I'm still debating about whether to watch it tonight.
04:22But I feel like if I am gonna watch the first day,
04:23I should watch it on an iMac screen.
04:26Luca, you are in some real skimpy little pants in the first episode.
04:31Believe it or not, I was there when we filmed it.
04:32You were.
04:33I was there when we filmed that.
04:34And I'm gonna say the audience are gonna be happy.
04:36Okay.
04:37They're gonna be pleased.
04:38And so are you.
04:39Okay, good.
04:39Is that why you're nervous to watch?
04:42I don't know.
04:42Maybe.
04:43Maybe unknowingly, yeah.
04:46Subconsciously, maybe, yeah.
04:47No, it's not.
04:48I mean, I just...
04:48I just...
04:49No, I just feel like...
04:50I'm going through a little bit of a phase at the moment
04:52where I feel like the shows that we make
04:54are for others to enjoy, not me.
04:56I can't have a look at things objectively,
04:57especially when I'm in them.
05:00So, I'm just deciding about whether I wanna do that or not.
05:02Well, listen, you're good for them.
05:04Absolutely.
05:04Bless you.
05:05Appreciate it.
05:08Thank you so much, cheers.
05:09It's the only reason why I'm watching it on the IMAX,
05:12to be honest.
05:13Yeah.
05:13Yeah.
05:14It's so good to see you again.
05:15Thank you so much.
05:19It's so lovely to see you.
05:20It's so lovely to see you.
05:38On a scale of one to Salacious,
05:41how sexy is this season?
05:44In 11, I would say.
05:46Yeah, I'd say it's the amp turned up to 11.
05:48It's gone nuts.
05:50From episode one, I watched the first episode
05:53and my jaw dropped, because it's outrageous.
05:56But it's allowed to be.
05:57That's the good thing.
05:58I think the history of screen had an iconic shower scene in it
06:01up until now, and now I think that's about to be replaced
06:03with a new iconic shower scene,
06:05after about 10 or 15 minutes of episode one.
06:08Yes.
06:08Less, maybe even less.
06:09Yeah.
06:09It's extraordinary.
06:11I'm not going to tell you what happens.
06:12It's very, very, very salacious.
06:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:15And delicious.
06:16Salacious, exactly.
06:17No.
06:19More than that, no.
06:20No, but it also makes us a little bit more morally ambiguous.
06:24But that's okay, right?
06:25Because this is escapism.
06:27Well, we're morally ambiguous for enjoying it.
06:29You're watching the show because we root for, like, affairs,
06:31we root for age gap relationships.
06:33I think it lets out what everyone is hoping to have.
06:39Yeah.
06:39Let out the devil.
06:40I don't know.
06:41Also, it's set in the 80s.
06:41Get on your couch, pour yourself a gin and tonic,
06:43and let the devil out.
06:45Bad.
06:46But it's set in the 80s, so it's kind of safe,
06:48because we're looking back on it.
06:49It's not real.
06:50It's so true.
06:50Yeah, yeah, no.
06:51Keep it at arm's length.
06:52It's fiction.
06:53Like, we're supposed to enjoy escapism, right?
06:55Of course.
06:55Exactly.
06:56We do it so that you guys don't have to.
06:58Exactly.
06:58Thank you for your service.
07:01Well, I mean, look, if you want to do it, do it.
07:02Don't let me stop you.
07:04She won't.
07:05What is it you had in mind?
07:08We should turn this camera around,
07:09and we should find out what is it in Rivals
07:10that you would most like to replicate?
07:12Let's ask a question.
07:12Listen.
07:13I would like to keep my job.
07:15I'm already on the edge.
07:19Thin ice.
07:19Well, you called your cameraman a sinking train
07:21before we started.
07:22So I'd say, yeah, you're on thin ice, my friend.
07:26Oh, my God.
07:27I wish I could.
07:28I can't.
07:29Before I get sacked, I'm going to let you get on.
07:32So lovely to meet you.
07:33See you later.
07:42There you are.
07:43It had to be done.
07:44I was going to say, you've got the red shoes on.
07:46No, I did have heels on, but I've taken them off,
07:48because it's cool.
07:48I know.
07:49Gail, tell me about it.
07:51Yeah, you know.
07:51I'm freezing here.
07:52We need jackets.
07:53I know.
07:54It's not very Rotshire vibe.
07:56No.
07:56The sun should be out.
07:57There should be horses running around and drinking champagne.
08:00Where's the champagne?
08:01Exactly.
08:02Where's the dogs?
08:03Inside.
08:04Right, listen.
08:04Tell me.
08:05On a scale of one to salacious, how sexy is this season?
08:10Ten.
08:10There's a horse.
08:11Ten.
08:12Ten.
08:14Salimilicious.
08:15A million on the scale.
08:17Salacious.
08:18It's so sexy.
08:19It's through the roof.
08:20Yeah.
08:21We love to hear it.
08:21We love to hear it.
08:22And listen, it makes you morally ambiguous when you watch this show, to say the least.
08:26Yeah.
08:26It's escapism.
08:27We're meant to just enjoy fiction, right?
08:29Yeah.
08:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:30Totally, yeah.
08:31Just sit in the characters, like, yeah, bathe in their decadence.
08:36Yeah.
08:36Do all of that.
08:37And just don't, just don't do what they do.
08:39Do as they say, not as they do.
08:41What is the, what's the quote?
08:42Just don't, don't sleep around too much.
08:45I think that's the idea, yeah.
08:48Well, be naughty.
08:49Enjoy the naughtiest.
08:50And if you want to be naughty, be naughty.
08:52Do it.
08:52That doesn't go with what I said.
08:54Oh, well, I'm disagreeing with you.
08:55Yeah.
08:56It's educational.
08:57Yeah, I think it is.
08:58Don't try this at home.
08:59Yeah, yeah.
09:00That's it.
09:00Basically a reboot of that.
09:02Don't try this at home.
09:04Yeah.
09:04That's a good one.
09:05Yeah.
09:05Listen, it's freezing, so I'm going to let you get on.
09:07Thank you very much.
09:07But lovely to see you.
09:08I'll see you inside for a glass of champagne and the horses.
09:11Yeah.
09:12Thanks.
09:12Bye.
09:25They tried to take me away.
09:27It's never tear us apart.
09:28It's never tear us apart.
09:30Jodie Scottish, Anne Scottish.
09:32That's it.
09:32It's never tear us apart.
09:33Never.
09:33If you're a friend of Gary's or a friend of mine.
09:34Oh, I am.
09:35Quite frankly.
09:36Love you.
09:37And I love this show.
09:39Listen, on a scale of one to salacious, how sexy is this season?
09:43It's off the charts.
09:44It's unbelievable.
09:45We are salivating.
09:49If you loved series one and the reviews are out and we're absolutely astounded, it's
09:54good.
09:54I mean, really good.
09:55We certainly have a sexier time this series, don't we?
09:57Yeah.
09:58I've had to warn all my family.
09:59At the end of episode three, you might want to just slightly avert your eyes, Auntie
10:03Mary's like, I've seen it all before, Gary.
10:06But the world hasn't.
10:08Maybe not quite in the way.
10:09I'm slightly terrified.
10:11I squealed.
10:11I saw it.
10:12I went.
10:12Yeah, he did.
10:13Yeah, he did.
10:14How do you feel about it?
10:15They said, I was like, too late.
10:16It's done.
10:17The world's getting out.
10:18It's confronting.
10:19It's confronting.
10:20Go, go, go.
10:22Thank you for coming over.
10:23Love you.
10:24Take care, Amy.
10:25Good bye.
10:26No!
10:33No, you didn't meet.
10:34Happy to meet you.
10:36Hello!
10:38Absolutely.
10:38Thank you so much.
10:39Beautiful city Nightly with you, for lovely days.
10:40Beautiful lady in red.
10:41I love the mood!
10:42Thank you so much.
10:51What is it like being a part of this incredible TV show?
10:56Well, I was starstruck coming on because I was a fan of the first season and Felicity
11:01Blunt, the producer, is a very old friend of mine, so when she asked me if I would come
11:05in and do a little bit, I was so excited, I just said, I will do it as long as
11:11I can
11:11have a big hat.
11:12So she gave me a big hat, I was very happy.
11:14But I binged the first season and then I watched it again before I came into it and the built
11:21world of it is so expansive and exciting and it has an energy to it that is mimicked on
11:27set.
11:28Everyone is really genuinely having a great time and to be welcomed, it's like being welcomed
11:33into the best party and you're like, I get an invite?
11:37It's so fun.
11:39Of course you get an invite, absolutely, but tell me on a scale of one to Salacious, how
11:44is it so sexy?
11:45Is there season?
11:46Oh, it blows the roof off.
11:49I mean, from the first scene.
11:53It's relentless and delicious but also there's so much celebration of bodies and not just a
12:03particular type or through a particular taste and it's not just sexy and salacious, it's
12:11also erotic and there's a lot of emotion in it and intimacy and heart to it and also different
12:19types of kind of sex, it's not just one thing or the other, there's a whole spectrum of different
12:24kind of relationships played out physically.
12:26I think it's just such a beautiful celebration of how weird we can all be.
12:30Sexual diversity.
12:32Exactly.
12:33Exactly.
12:33Something for everyone.
12:34It's also a little bit morally ambiguous but that's escapism, right?
12:38Yeah, but also we are morally ambiguous.
12:41I think, well I wouldn't say morally ambiguous but I think we all think that we're really good
12:44in some ways but also we're full of human flaws and we can be hypocritical and contradict ourselves and also
12:51change
12:51our mind and that can get us into a lot of trouble within this kind of storytelling world
12:55and I think this plays that beautifully, celebrates all of it.
12:59Absolutely.
13:00Incredible.
13:01Enjoy tonight.
13:02Thank you, I will.
13:02You're welcome to Rock Triangle.
13:05Thanks Angel.
13:17Well, hello again.
13:19How are you?
13:19Hello again.
13:20How are you?
13:21I'm good.
13:21Listen, I've changed my shoes and I do want to say there's a stinking drain behind us.
13:26It's not us.
13:26We don't smell.
13:27I promise.
13:28I wouldn't judge you.
13:30I understand it's been a long day.
13:32I'm from Maryhill, you understand?
13:34I understand.
13:36Yes.
13:37And Maryhill smells lovely.
13:39Does it?
13:40It's very up and coming now.
13:42Is it?
13:42Has it got all gentrified?
13:43I bet it has.
13:44I bet it has.
13:45Look at you.
13:46Thanks very much.
13:47I've got a bit gentrified too.
13:48Look at this.
13:49Now earlier we were talking about the fact that Tony Baddingham is an unexpected heartthrob.
13:54Have you done some research since?
13:56No.
13:57It's not something, this doesn't make me feel comfortable.
14:00Why?
14:00Because I can't, I shouldn't be commenting on that.
14:04And also, he's not, people shouldn't be lusting after Tony Baddingham.
14:08He's bad.
14:08Can I tell you what I think it is?
14:10What?
14:10It's because you're playing him.
14:11Well, you old charmer.
14:14But listen, it was touch and go.
14:16We didn't know that he was coming back.
14:18Yeah.
14:18I mean, how great is it that the relief's off, you can say?
14:21I'm back.
14:22Oh, I'm back, yeah.
14:23There was a bit of, yeah, around about the time the season two was announced, I was sort
14:27of kept, held it back a bit, tried to keep people guessing.
14:31But, no, I was never, I was never going to stay away.
14:34I'm not leaving them to it.
14:36Absolutely not.
14:37Listen, on a scale of one to salacious.
14:40Yeah.
14:40How sexy is this season?
14:43Listen.
14:45It's in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?
14:47It's relative.
14:49A lot of sexy things happen.
14:51A lot of sex happens.
14:52And it all happens, but it all happens for a variety of reasons.
14:56And that, I think, is what is the key to making the storytelling so powerful.
15:01That, yeah, we see a lot of shagging, but we understand why it's happening.
15:05And it tells us something about who the characters are.
15:07Why they're shagging, how they're shagging.
15:09Am I allowed to say shagging?
15:10Yes, you absolutely are.
15:11Okay.
15:12Exactly.
15:13How they're shagging, who they're shagging, why they're shagging is all relevant.
15:17It's not just for titillation.
15:19No.
15:19If you get titillated by it, that's between you and your sofa.
15:24It makes us a wee bit morally ambiguous, but it's fiction.
15:27It's escapism.
15:28It's what we need, right?
15:30I think we can enjoy people being awful if we know it's at the distance of 50 years.
15:36I'm not going to lie, seeing as you went to school with my mum and your student,
15:40you starred in plays together.
15:41Yeah.
15:41It's weird talking to you about sexy things.
15:43I look up to you as like, do you know what I mean?
15:46And now I'm like...
15:47And suddenly me and your mum are embroiled in some sort of strange fictional sex act.
15:52Is that what you're saying?
15:52Talking about sexy scenes is like, it feels wrong, David.
15:55I'm fine with that.
15:56You deal with your own demons.
15:58I'm all right.
16:00Listen, I adore you.
16:01Lovely to see you.
16:02I got always a pleasure.
16:02Thank you so much.
16:03Thank you so much.
16:04See you next time.
16:05See you on Monday.
16:05See you next time.
16:07See you...
16:12Take care, Beau.
