00:00But these are also interesting visuals coming in.
00:02Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhury, you would see downsizing to an electric vehicle,
00:08at least when it comes to fuel consumption.
00:10So one would of course appreciate it because of the Bihar Chief Minister,
00:14as said and suggested by Prime Minister Modi,
00:17to cut down on the convoy, bring an electric vehicle.
00:21But here's the catch here.
00:22For sure, Bihar Chief Minister ensured that his vehicle was the electric vehicle.
00:27But then, he otherwise had a convoy of 21 cars.
00:32So a 21 car cavalcade of the Bihar Chief Minister.
00:35But yes, his vehicle is the EV, electric vehicle that he switched to.
00:39So many would ask if this is really a measure the Prime Minister was expecting
00:43from like his own cavalcade that was cut down from 12 to 15 top-notch security vehicles to about 2.
00:49Bihar Chief Minister definitely switching to an EV, appreciate it there.
00:53But then 20 vehicles apart from that with him.
00:56And these are not the electric vehicles, just to add on to it.
00:59These are of course the usual fuel resource vehicles that have been used.
01:05Rohit Singh joins me for the latest on that.
01:07Rohit, so can I say he did agree and he did follow what was expected of other Chief Ministers,
01:12but not to the T.
01:15Well, see, it's just the beginning that has happened.
01:18But let me tell you, after the Prime Minister made that appeal
01:21of cutting down on use of petrol and diesel vehicles,
01:25Samaraj Chaudhary, the new Chief Minister of Bihar,
01:29has in fact also adhered to that appeal of the Prime Minister.
01:33And he used to use a petrol and a diesel vehicle till yesterday.
01:38But today we saw him that he was using an electric vehicle.
01:43So that's okay that he himself has switched to the EV.
01:47But what about the other vehicles who are part of his convoy?
01:51Because in these visuals that have gone viral on the social media,
01:55almost 22 to 25 vehicles, all petrol and diesel vehicles are part of his convoy.
02:01However, Samaraj Chaudhary himself is sitting in an electric vehicle.
02:05Clearly goes on to show that more needs to be done.
02:08To ask here that this switch to the EV is in a way to show that he has taken that
02:14step.
02:14But he kept the EV, but also kept other 20 vehicles.
02:18Yes, that is true.
02:19And that is what he has to direct his security persons and the people who are part of this team,
02:26that the convoy also needs to be, the size of the has to be decreased tremendously.
02:32Because right now what we are seeing is that almost two dozen vehicles are part of his convoy.
02:37Despite the fact that he himself is in an electric vehicle.
02:41And in the early morning today also he has posted on social media
02:44that how his government has given out some instructions of cutting down on the use of vehicles
02:50which use petrol and diesel.
02:52So that is fine.
02:53But these pictures, this video has gone viral
02:56where we see that Prime Minister Modi himself is just using two vehicles
03:01as part of him for travelling and also part of security.
03:04But here you have the new Chief Minister of Bihar, Samaraj Chaudhary,
03:08who is travelling in a convoy of almost two dozen vehicles.
03:13Back to you.
03:14Thank you, appreciate you joining us.
03:16So an electric vehicle to ensure that fuel is not wasted,
03:21that an alternate measure is used.
03:23But that's about it with 20 other vehicles coming in.
03:25Perhaps Samaraj Chaudhary will take another day to be able to tell his authorities
03:29and the ones who organised this cavalcade.
03:32But then Prime Minister, setting an example with two,
03:35perhaps the Bihar Chief Minister can cut down on that cavalcade as much.
03:38So we have more news coming in about what exactly is happening.
03:41Remember, these are different measures
03:43that are being announced, suggested by Prime Minister Modi himself.
03:48And here, starting with one, you can see in the centre of your screens,
03:52that is Prime Minister Modi's two-vehicle cavalcade.
03:55But this will be very crucial.
03:56Remember, SPG controls PM Modi's convoy security.
03:59And therefore, the blue book aspect will remain,
04:03which is the basic security will have to be, of course, there for Prime Minister Modi.
04:07Now, this may be for the next few days that we see his cavalcade when it's passing through.
04:12Bihar Chief Minister encouraged by it.
04:15Also, switched to an electric vehicle.
04:17A step you must appreciate there.
04:19But what caught many people of guard were that he also had 20 other vehicles.
04:24Now, why did the CM need 20 other vehicles?
04:27Who was in it?
04:28Were these vehicles that could be discarded for the next visit that he does?
04:34You can see an ambulance.
04:36There are, of course, also other emergency vehicles.
04:39It looks like senior police officials or the administrative officials are also in this cavalcade.
04:45So, will that be something that Bihar Chief Minister will have to think this through?
04:54So, this is an interesting update that has come in.
04:57Kapil Mishra, remember, used the Delhi Metro.
05:00So, he also used the Metro to ensure and to show that he is following the suggestions that have come
05:06in from Prime Minister Modi.
05:07But looks like one by one, perhaps one day at a time,
05:11that Chief Ministers who have been asked, especially the BJP rule state Chief Ministers have been asked,
05:16to keep their cavalcade at the lowest number when it comes to vehicles.
05:21And before anybody could question, Prime Minister Modi's convoy,
05:24he himself, leading by example, showed only two vehicles.
05:28Now, remember, a lot of it is also about showcasing, about optics.
05:32And it's important.
05:33Because when that optics comes from the top of the leadership, it sets a different benchmark.
05:38And therefore, one of the reasons is that the Chief Ministers and other senior officials have been asked to follow
05:42the same.
05:43Now, these are, of course, not extreme measures in the sense a lot more will need to be done
05:48if we ever have to be majorly conscious and cautious for resources.
05:52However, but it is the first step in that direction.
05:55But remember, ladies and gentlemen, apart from, of course, how the Bihar Chief Minister, look at that.
05:59The visual on your screen.
06:01Electric vehicle for sure for the Bihar Chief Minister,
06:03but with 20 other vehicles, which are the usual petrol-diesel vehicles.
06:08But the measures also and the suggestions come to suggest at least a basic aspect.
06:14Is something brewing in the next few days with the constant mentions of caution?
06:19And this is not to sound alarming,
06:21but to at least understand that the government's strategy is to already start preparing
06:25that possibly if the West Asia war continues for a longer time, a longer tenure,
06:31that it would be difficult to have fuel resources and other essential commodities
06:35that could face a certain setback or at least a log that comes in,
06:41a backlog, especially with the Strait of Hormuz still facing a blockade.
06:44But look at these visuals on your screen.
06:46We are putting out Prime Minister Modi's cavalcade,
06:48just two vehicles passing through the 7LKM
06:51and then Bihar Chief Minister for sure following the suggestion of the electric vehicle,
06:56but beyond that also 20 other vehicles.
06:59And so it's interesting that he has followed the suggestion, but not completely.
07:04And we'll wait for the response if that comes.
07:07And we'll also see and track it tomorrow.
07:09If tomorrow Bihar Chief Minister's convoy could have a further reduction in the number.
07:15But clearly a messaging that is coming in,
07:18as Prime Minister Modi said in the cabinet meeting as well,
07:21the message that went in the cabinet meeting to all the ministers was,
07:25PM ne kaha yatha sambhav kam se kam kharch karein,
07:29imported item ka istimal kam se kam.
07:31So a lot of imported items, usually costlier of course,
07:35try and buy it less, keep your spendings at a certain reduced momentum,
07:41try and keep your spending low.
07:43All of this to ensure that at least,
07:45that if there is the participation of the public,
07:49which is kept at a minimum, that would help.
07:51Remember Prime Minister very categorically sending this example of the two vehicles,
07:56is to ensure, because many were asking when these messages started to be circulated,
08:01and when Prime Minister himself said,
08:02we'll have to be slightly cautious of the resources,
08:04is, is this only for the public, or is this also for the VVIPs?
08:11And therefore then you saw the next day,
08:13Prime Minister Modi himself showcasing,
08:15that his own security convoy has been curtailed.
08:19Of course, I reiterate,
08:20it's not that easy to cut down on Prime Minister Modi's cavalcade,
08:23because there are about 12 to 15 vehicles,
08:26as per security of the SPG,
08:27that will have to continue,
08:29and these are of course, extremely significant vehicles to ensure his safety.
08:37But, we are told that the SPG has been asked to reduce the convoy size by 50% at least.
08:45There will be still a high security motorcade.
08:48Blue Book safety standards will have to be observed.
08:51In fact, Prime Minister Modi has said,
08:53that electric vehicles without purchasing new ones,
08:56can be added to his fleet.
08:57So, that would help at least a longer cavalcade,
09:00but that would be an EV.
09:02Bihar Chief Minister took on that suggestion,
09:04got an EV for himself,
09:06but also continued with 20 other vehicles.
