00:04I want to go back to 2012 when you were with American Idol, and we, all of us here in
00:11the Philippines,
00:12we wanted you to win. You were our winner. And when you came out first runner-up, we were disappointed,
00:19were you?
00:20No, I was not disappointed. I mean, coming, I actually came to the Philippines for the first time after Idol.
00:26And I didn't realize how much support I had out here. It was insane.
00:31But I was just so proud of myself being so young, being a Filipino, young American woman, making it that
00:39far.
00:39To second place was pretty far along. But I'm really proud of myself for kind of taking that leap of
00:45faith
00:45and joining AGT this last season and really taking home the crown after such a long time.
00:51I know. Yeah, but I totally understand that. But where we are coming from was that we wanted you to
00:57be our winner.
00:58Of course, I loved Philip Phillips, but he was good-looking enough too.
01:05I love him.
01:06But we wanted you just because I was just to win. That's what the whole country wanted to happen.
01:10Thank you. Thank you.
01:11But you're right. 20 years after the first season of America's Got Talent, you auditioned.
01:17Yeah.
01:17And then I liked it when you said, you know, I'm back here after 20 years.
01:23Take me back to that moment.
01:25Yeah, because I actually was on AGT the first season when I was 10 years old.
01:30So this was the 20th season. I came back 20 years later. And, you know, even after Idol, so many
01:36trials and tribulations throughout my career.
01:39And I've been on this journey with the Internet, the whole Internet watching.
01:42So it really meant a lot, not only to me, but I felt like to my supporters and fans to
01:47see me kind of get out there and just take another, like I said, leap of faith to try again.
01:52No, we were with you.
01:54Yes.
01:54We were with you.
01:55We were praying.
01:56We were with you.
01:57I honestly would not.
01:57I would not have been able to have won without the support of the Filipino people, without the support of
02:03the Philippines.
02:03So I am always trying to find time and find words to express how grateful I am for all of
02:10the love and support.
02:10And that's why I'm so excited to be doing this concert, this homecoming concert.
02:14It's coming Saturday.
02:15It's May 16 at Araneda Coliseum.
02:17Yes.
02:17When you finally won in America's Got Talent, what was that?
02:21What was it like?
02:22Oh, my God.
02:23Yeah.
02:24Yeah.
02:25You know, I don't like to use the word vindication, but, you know, was it like, this is it?
02:31Yes.
02:31I was crying on stage because I was like, wow, this is like, I was just thinking of, even before
02:36they announced me as the winner, I was thinking of my 10 year old self as I looked out in
02:40the crowd.
02:40And I was like, wow, I've really fought for this moment.
02:43And whatever happens, happens.
02:45And then they said my name.
02:46And I was like, wow, God, thank you for, you know, putting me through this.
02:51And it was hard.
02:52But we came out on top.
02:54And then, you know, a week and a half later, I gave birth.
02:57So mom mode.
02:58Blessing.
02:59Yes.
02:59Double blessing.
03:00Double blessing.
03:01Well.
03:11But then.
03:29Gaethe.
03:30And I hope.
