WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump participated in a maternal healthcare event earlier today, bringing together healthcare professionals, policy leaders, and advocates to discuss improving care for mothers and newborns across the United States.

The event focused on expanding access to prenatal care, strengthening rural healthcare services, supporting new mothers, and addressing rising concerns surrounding maternal health outcomes nationwide. Medical experts and community leaders joined the discussion, highlighting challenges facing families and healthcare providers in both urban and rural communities.

President Trump emphasized the importance of protecting maternal and infant health, praising doctors, nurses, and frontline healthcare workers for their dedication to families across the country. He also discussed efforts aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and ensuring that mothers receive quality care before, during, and after childbirth.

During the event, several speakers shared personal stories and experiences related to maternal healthcare, underscoring the need for continued investment in women’s health services and medical infrastructure.

The gathering included remarks from healthcare advocates, policy experts, and administration officials, with discussions centered on practical solutions to improve outcomes for mothers and children nationwide.

Today’s event marks another major healthcare-focused appearance by President Trump as discussions surrounding maternal health continue to gain national attention.

00:00:00But I have a new way out. I'm going to propose something the opposite of what I want. And we
00:00:06will have massive amounts of legislation. We will not build the wall. I'm going to go the opposite. Whatever is
00:00:22bad, I'm going to go for it.
00:00:24They'll approve what's good, finally. They've got serious Trump derangement syndrome, which actually is a disease. I'm hearing it is
00:00:32actually a disease. It's an honor.
00:00:34Today, we're also enacting groundbreaking child care reforms to approve federal child care programs, including Head Start and Child Care
00:00:42Development Fund that goes to each state. It's big stuff.
00:00:47And these reforms will give states more flexible, lower costs, increased options, and empower parents to choose what care works
00:00:56best for them.
00:00:57There's a lot of options that you're going to have. Under this plan, you have, I think, pretty much maximum,
00:01:02highly, I think, maximum options.
00:01:05And that's what we're looking for, maximum options at the lowest cost.
00:01:09And you've got a cost that if you were here a year ago or if you were here, like, during
00:01:14the last administration, you're talking about a cost that would be eight to ten times more expensive than what we're
00:01:20doing.
00:01:21And same exact, same exact prescription, same exact medicine, same care at 10 percent.
00:01:29It will also free up child care funding for hundreds of thousands of additional children to support stay-at-home
00:01:35parents.
00:01:36In recognition of this ambitious agenda to support American mothers, today we're announcing a new website that is online right
00:01:45now.
00:01:46It's moms.gov. Moms.gov.
00:01:50You couldn't have put that in the Trump deal? You had to give me a new one in the competition?
00:01:56This guy, he wants to make me work so hard.
00:02:00So explain moms.gov, would you please, Dr. Oz?
00:02:03Well, we're going to have a whole discussion about it, sir, a little bit later.
00:02:07We want Katie to speak a bit about the first issue you mentioned.
00:02:11But moms.gov is a beautiful site. Folks want to check it right now while we're talking.
00:02:14Yeah, you really should. And it's pretty incredible.
00:02:16Something that Senator Rubio and I tried to do, sir, but you're the one who actually did it.
00:02:21Well, I like TrumpRx.gov.
00:02:24I mean, I love moms. I love moms, but I like TrumpRx.
00:02:30You put me in there, I've got to make sure.
00:02:33It gives me competition now. You want to sit in a walk?
00:02:36That's all right. We're only kidding. I have to say we're kidding, otherwise I'll do.
00:02:39Trump and Oz had a major dispute. It was terrible.
00:02:42When Bobby broke them up, it was a terrible, terrible dispute.
00:02:45These people. I encourage every mom to visit this new page where they will find helpful information about addressing clinical
00:02:54care, pregnancy resources, nutrition tips, TrumpRx, and Trump Accounts.
00:03:00Trump Accounts has been amazing for the kids.
00:03:04It's Michael and Susan Dell.
00:03:06They put in $6,250,000,000 started it.
00:03:12And that's another one that's gone through the Trump Accounts where young kids, they turn 18 or 20 or 21.
00:03:17They feel like a billionaire. Used to say a millionaire. Now you say a billionaire.
00:03:23But they certainly feel rich as opposed to having absolutely nothing.
00:03:27It's so popular. So many people.
00:03:30We have people, in one case, took over the entire state of Ohio.
00:03:34It's putting up the money for every kid in the state of Ohio.
00:03:38Supporting the journey of American moms at every stage is so important to the success of our nation.
00:03:44I'd now like to ask Senator Katie Britt.
00:03:46She's the one that got me into this, I have to tell you.
00:03:49I hope she always remains loyal to me so I can continue to support her.
00:03:54I would hate to go against her.
00:03:56That will never happen, Katie, right?
00:03:59That's right. That's right, sir.
00:03:59But to say just a few words, she's a really fantastic woman.
00:04:02She's a great senator.
00:04:04And I got lucky.
00:04:06I was supporting somebody else and then I realized that somebody else wasn't very good.
00:04:11And I said, who's that young woman I met that was so impressive?
00:04:15They said, her name is Katie Britt.
00:04:17I said, let me talk to her.
00:04:18I talked to her. I endorsed her.
00:04:20She won a landslide.
00:04:22And you've been winning a landslide ever since.
00:04:25You've been doing a great job, Katie.
00:04:26Thank you very much.
00:04:27I thought I should explain it.
00:04:29To say a few words, Katie's going to say.
00:04:31And followed by Monique Pruitt and then Olivia Walton, then Dr. Oz and Dr. Dorothy Fink
00:04:39and Dr. Alex Adams.
00:04:42And you'll speak not too long because I am being waited on by a large group of generals.
00:04:52And that's also important, you know, having to do with the absolutely lovely country of Iran.
00:05:00That's the way they pronounce it.
00:05:01Well, we will get started then.
00:05:03Okay.
00:05:03Mr. President, thank you for your work.
00:05:05And we are here, guys.
00:05:06This is another example of promises made, promises kept.
00:05:09I mean, we look at what President Trump did when we dealt with this issue in Alabama.
00:05:13He stepped up to the plate immediately to make sure that we had nationwide access to IVF,
00:05:19to making sure that we had comprehensive fertility treatment,
00:05:22so that men and women, couples who were longing for their child,
00:05:26could continue to have that hope and also have that reality.
00:05:29Today doubles down on that yet again.
00:05:32I mean, we see the savings that have happened across the country.
00:05:35And I've had more and more people come up to me and tell me a story about what it has
00:05:39saved them.
00:05:39But we also know that there was opportunity for continued growth.
00:05:43President Trump saw that and he acted on it.
00:05:45So now more people are going to have access through their employer,
00:05:48just like they would dental or vision insurance.
00:05:50And there are people right now who this is out of reach because of affordability,
00:05:54and President Trump is bringing that back in.
00:05:57When you look at the comprehensive nature of what we're doing today
00:05:59and coming on the hills of Mother's Day, I mean, we are thrilled to support mothers everywhere.
00:06:04Whether it's that mom that is getting to experience growing life for the very first time,
00:06:09or the one chasing toddlers or wrangling teenagers,
00:06:12or being there when their adult child calls for advice.
00:06:17Moms are the heartbeats of our families, our communities, and our country.
00:06:21President Trump knows that,
00:06:23and he's made sure we've created a comprehensive culture of life.
00:06:26That's what you see right now with Moms.gov.
00:06:29Moms.gov was something that then-Senator Rubio and I talked about doing
00:06:34with Senator Kramer and now Senator Schmidt.
00:06:36But of course, President Trump is actually the way to put it into action.
00:06:39It supports moms through the prenatal, postpartum, and early childhood development stages of motherhood.
00:06:45Also, as we tackle rural health, look, I stand up here in front of you not only as a mom
00:06:50of two,
00:06:50but also as someone who lives in the great state of Alabama,
00:06:53where about 28% of women live in a current maternal care desert.
00:06:57The work that we did in the Working Families Tax Cuts, guys, that hits it head on.
00:07:02We have an opportunity now to reach those who haven't been reached.
00:07:06When we look at maternal mortality rates, we continue to invest both in the research
00:07:10that will help us resolve that issue,
00:07:12but also in the women that deal with so many issues during their pregnancy.
00:07:17We want them to be supportive.
00:07:19And then, in addition to all of that, child care.
00:07:22So we know last year alone, you had about 455,000 women leave the workforce
00:07:28due to affordability and accessibility of child care.
00:07:31We've often said, and the President and I have talked about this,
00:07:33if you have or want the opportunity to stay home, we want that for you.
00:07:37But if you want or need the opportunity to re-enter the workforce
00:07:41and want to be a part of building back America, like President Trump is doing,
00:07:45we don't want affordability or accessibility to be an impediment to that.
00:07:48So not only at his direction, and I was proud to lead the effort in the Working Families Tax Cuts
00:07:53to modernize the tax code to make sure that child care was front and center
00:07:56for the first time since Ronald Reagan served.
00:07:59You're the first one to do it.
00:08:00But today, that comprehensive nature of whether you're staying home
00:08:04or you're in a faith-based provider or you have a child care center
00:08:07that you lovingly send your child to during the day as you work to provide for your family,
00:08:13today that is easier as a result.
00:08:15And we are proud of what that means for the economy.
00:08:18We know 24% of young families spend about 24% of their annual income on child care.
00:08:25So, Mr. President, thank you for all that you've done creating a comprehensive culture of life.
00:08:29This is really groundbreaking.
00:08:31So, do you see now why I endorsed her so much?
00:08:35Yes.
00:08:36And always will.
00:08:37I'd be afraid not to.
00:08:38She also is married to the largest human being I've ever had.
00:08:41He's right there, sir.
00:08:42Her husband is great.
00:08:44He's an 11-year player in the NFL, an all-star,
00:08:48one of the greatest college football players ever at what he does.
00:08:53And he's a fantastic person.
00:08:55Both two really fantastic people.
00:08:58Monique Pruitt speaks about TrumpRx.
00:09:01Yes, sir.
00:09:01Well, thank you, Mr. President and Senator Brett, for all the work and the teams that have done so much
00:09:07around this.
00:09:07This is a very important topic, so I'm glad to be here.
00:09:09I personally use TrumpRx and I've saved thousands of dollars on my medication.
00:09:14As President Trump mentioned, a lot of insurances did not cover this.
00:09:18Looks like they will be now, so that's wonderful.
00:09:22Even so, some don't cover the medication portion.
00:09:24That can be a separate pharmaceutical cost.
00:09:26So, TrumpRx has brought a lot of the prices of medications down.
00:09:31For me personally, Gonal F has been one of the main medicines that people use for ache retrievals.
00:09:39And that, I cannot find it anywhere, on any other website, or for cheaper.
00:09:44So, thank you so much to you guys for doing all the work.
00:09:46We really appreciate it from the IVF community.
00:09:49It's been amazing, hasn't it, the difference in cost?
00:09:52It's just incredible.
00:09:54I mean, you're talking about something where it goes down five, six, seven times.
00:09:59And I tell the story often.
00:10:01I was so proud.
00:10:02My first term, one-eighth of one percent.
00:10:06I reduced drug costs during my third year.
00:10:08One-eighth of one percent.
00:10:10And that's the first time in 28 years that prices went down.
00:10:14And I was so proud.
00:10:17Remember that?
00:10:18I was there, yes.
00:10:19Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to just say that prices have gone down one-eighth of one percent,
00:10:23which is the first time in 28 years that prices have gone down for prescription drug prices.
00:10:29I was so proud of that.
00:10:31And now I reduced it by 500 percent.
00:10:34Perhaps that's experience.
00:10:36I always knew that, you know, we were being just absolutely decimated.
00:10:41But, you know, I was hunted.
00:10:44I was the hunter now.
00:10:45You know, I was the hunted then.
00:10:48And I had to devote a lot of time to that.
00:10:50Otherwise, I wouldn't have been too effective.
00:10:52If I was out of office, I wouldn't have been.
00:10:54So I was hunted by some very bad people.
00:10:57Now I'm the hunter.
00:10:58It's much better when you're the hunter.
00:11:00But these are bad people.
00:11:02And they'll give you no support at all, no matter how good it is.
00:11:06I mean, as an example, I don't know what the numbers are.
00:11:09But if we go to Congress to get something approved, which we get,
00:11:15but you can say that we're going to reduce drug prices by 80 percent,
00:11:19and we won't get one Democrat vote.
00:11:22I don't know how they get away with it.
00:11:23That's why we call them the Democrats.
00:11:25We have a, you know, they're Democrats because they're dumb.
00:11:28They're dumb people.
00:11:29And they just can't do it.
00:11:33I've been waiting so long for them to change,
00:11:36but they just keep losing,
00:11:38and they're going to keep losing with their policies.
00:11:41But we reduce prices by 70, 80 percent,
00:11:45and it's such a big deal.
00:11:48I'd like to ask Olivia Walton,
00:11:50who's here with her very handsome husband, Tom.
00:11:54Thank you, Tom, for being here.
00:11:55Thank you very much.
00:11:56And you're going to speak about maternal health care.
00:11:59Mr. President, I'm going to introduce Olivia, if you're on.
00:12:02Before we leave the last topic,
00:12:03it's the leader of AMD Serrano,
00:12:05which makes one of the most important fertility drugs this year.
00:12:08Just to remind you, because you've been giving different percentages,
00:12:11the Monique's price of getting a product is one-tenth of what it used to be.
00:12:15So, one-tenth.
00:12:16Forget about percentages.
00:12:17That's an easy number to remember.
00:12:19And the fact that we were paying ten times more for that same drug in America is embarrassing.
00:12:24It changed under the President.
00:12:26And Presidents have known her for a long time,
00:12:28but it takes guts to take on important lobbyists.
00:12:30So, why didn't they get it done?
00:12:33Well, the main reason is they were intimidated.
00:12:35They were scared.
00:12:35Or incompetent.
00:12:37Or incompetent.
00:12:38But I've had plenty of conversations with the President
00:12:40when he says he doesn't care, he wants to do the right thing,
00:12:42and this is a good example.
00:12:43Absolutely.
00:12:43Excuse me.
00:12:44Katie Britt's husband's here.
00:12:48I just spotted this very large answer.
00:12:52That's a great guy.
00:12:54Okay, go ahead.
00:12:54So, let me speak a little bit about the reality
00:12:56that one in three Americans are under-babied.
00:12:59What does under-babied mean?
00:13:00That means that you either don't have any children
00:13:02or you have less children than you would normally want to have.
00:13:05And to Katie's point,
00:13:06we have a crisis that's causing a fertility rate to drop below 1.5.
00:13:10The replacement rate is 2.1.
00:13:12So, we're way below what we need
00:13:13just to replace the people that we have in America.
00:13:16And one of the challenges is that rural America,
00:13:19where there's 60 million people,
00:13:21have a mortality rate,
00:13:22maternal mortality rate when they have babies.
00:13:24That's about 30 percent higher
00:13:26than if you live in an urban area.
00:13:28One of the ways the President wanted to address this
00:13:30was creating something
00:13:31in the working families tax cut legislation,
00:13:33which is, I think,
00:13:34the most ambitious, fantastic program
00:13:36ever written to help fix the healthcare system.
00:13:39The President saved Medicaid
00:13:40in the working families tax cut legislation.
00:13:42He also invested with Congress,
00:13:44and Senator Britton and her colleagues
00:13:46voted for this of the House,
00:13:47to put in $50 billion into rural healthcare.
00:13:51That's $10 billion a year for the next five years.
00:13:53All the money went out the door on time,
00:13:55and it's being used for incredibly beneficial advances
00:13:59to help Americans living in rural America
00:14:01have babies safely.
00:14:02Your zip code should not determine your mortality rate
00:14:05if you're having a baby.
00:14:06That is going to change.
00:14:07There's a great program in southern Alabama.
00:14:09They call it L.A., lower Alabama.
00:14:11I'd love that you know that.
00:14:12Yes, I've been there.
00:14:13And that is allowing us
00:14:15to use these new ultrasound probes now
00:14:17if you don't have an obstetrician in your county,
00:14:20because in many counties in Los Angeles,
00:14:21in L.A., which is lower Alabama,
00:14:23that is the case.
00:14:24We have states,
00:14:26and all the governors are embraced on this,
00:14:28investing a lot of money,
00:14:29training more people to work in rural America.
00:14:31And we're also using telehealth tools,
00:14:33so you have big, sophisticated urban centers
00:14:36adopting smaller facilities and clinics
00:14:38so they can help moms deliver babies
00:14:40wherever they may live.
00:14:41You don't have to drive across state to get there.
00:14:43Now, as great as this all is,
00:14:45and as fantastic as it has been to have 50 governors,
00:14:47in this case, Mr. President,
00:14:48even the Democratic governors are on board.
00:14:50It's such a good offer.
00:14:52It's such a beautiful way of keeping your people healthy
00:14:55that everyone's embraced this program.
00:14:57We still can't do it by ourselves.
00:14:58We have to invest in the American people.
00:15:01We have to have governors and private sector partners
00:15:04that make this happen, as well as,
00:15:06and I hope the Secretary can speak to this in a moment,
00:15:08because MAHHA is probably vital to this effort.
00:15:10You have to get moms healthy enough
00:15:12to do the most creative thing the universe knows,
00:15:14which is making babies.
00:15:15So, Olivia, maybe you can take the message
00:15:17around the private sector involvement
00:15:18and how you and your family have gotten involved in this
00:15:20and led the way,
00:15:22and maybe you can talk about MAHHA afterwards.
00:15:23Sure, I would love to.
00:15:25And first, thank you so much, Mr. President.
00:15:27Thank you, Dr. Oz.
00:15:28And thank you, Secretary Kennedy.
00:15:29Thank all of you for making maternal health
00:15:31really a national priority.
00:15:33It's an honor to be here today with all of you.
00:15:35This $50 billion in rural health funds,
00:15:38this really represents a transformative opportunity
00:15:41to invest in maternal health care.
00:15:44And, in fact, it's what's given us the confidence
00:15:46to launch Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America,
00:15:49which is our campaign.
00:15:50It is bipartisan.
00:15:52Dr. Oz is right.
00:15:53Democratic governors across the country
00:15:55are also very interested in doing this.
00:15:57We have a simple goal.
00:15:58We want to cut the U.S. maternal death rate
00:16:00in half in five years.
00:16:02That sounds audacious,
00:16:04but I am confident we can do it.
00:16:05I'm confident because we have the federal leadership,
00:16:08because President Trump wants to make America
00:16:10the best place to have a baby.
00:16:12I'm confident because we now have this $50 billion,
00:16:15money that's already going out to the states,
00:16:17that we can actually leverage to pay for some of this.
00:16:20And I'm confident because, honestly,
00:16:21we know how to fix this.
00:16:23The vast majority of infant and maternal death
00:16:26is preventable.
00:16:28We know the solutions.
00:16:30Maternal health is rural health.
00:16:32You heard the numbers from Dr. Oz.
00:16:33I'm here today as a mother from Arkansas.
00:16:36I have three young kids.
00:16:37I live in a very rural state,
00:16:38and I'm thrilled to say Governor Sanders
00:16:40is taking maternal health head-on
00:16:42and has made some incredible progress.
00:16:44But in rural America,
00:16:45it is hard to have a baby right now.
00:16:47It is hard to get care.
00:16:48We have moms driving for hours to get to the OB.
00:16:51Most moms don't have the time to do that,
00:16:53and a lot of moms don't have the money to do that either.
00:16:56And then after they have the baby,
00:16:58they're not going back for any kind of checkup.
00:17:00For those of you who know, who've had a baby,
00:17:03what's the standard of care?
00:17:04They say, come back in six weeks.
00:17:06It's not a good idea.
00:17:08You all know how precarious those precious few weeks are.
00:17:12You need help sooner than that.
00:17:14And by the way,
00:17:15not all this care has to be done by an OB.
00:17:17It can be done with doulas and nurses and midwives,
00:17:20folks in your community.
00:17:21They can work with the doctor.
00:17:23As Dr. Oz said,
00:17:25there is virtual care.
00:17:26The solutions really do exist.
00:17:28And now is the time to get serious about this stuff
00:17:30and scale it.
00:17:31So we are uniting business leaders
00:17:34with policymaker, health care providers, faith leaders.
00:17:37We believe there's a great opportunity
00:17:38for faith leaders to play a bigger role
00:17:42in taking care of babies postpartum.
00:17:44And I'm just grateful to be here.
00:17:45I really believe,
00:17:46I know you're meeting with the generals,
00:17:47and we appreciate you keeping our country safe.
00:17:50Investing in maternal health care
00:17:51is the most strategic investment
00:17:53we can make in the future of American prosperity.
00:17:56So thank you.
00:17:57Hey, Tom, she did very well.
00:17:59What do you think?
00:17:59I'd give her 10, maybe a 12.
00:18:02I'd give her 12.
00:18:03So when is she running for office?
00:18:06You know, the nice thing,
00:18:08I was just listening,
00:18:08as Olivia was saying,
00:18:09she's so respected,
00:18:10and she doesn't need this.
00:18:12She doesn't need to come here and go,
00:18:14and she goes around
00:18:15and checks hospitals and does things.
00:18:17She really doesn't need it at all.
00:18:19She could be doing anything she wants, anything.
00:18:22And I think it's fantastic.
00:18:24And thank you very much.
00:18:26Thank you very much.
00:18:26Thank you, sir.
00:18:27Really beautiful.
00:18:28Okay.
00:18:29We have Dr. Fink.
00:18:32Oh, yes.
00:18:33Right here.
00:18:33Dr. Fink, how are you?
00:18:34So good to see you.
00:18:34Nice to see you.
00:18:35Go ahead.
00:18:36Well, thank you, Mr. President,
00:18:37for your ongoing support
00:18:38of maternal and infant health.
00:18:40We recognize that the health
00:18:42of women and mothers
00:18:43are so deeply interconnected.
00:18:46That's why we launched
00:18:47the Perinatal Improvement Collaborative
00:18:49during the first Trump administration,
00:18:51an effort that has continued to this day
00:18:53to improve health outcomes
00:18:54for moms and babies.
00:18:57Through this nationwide network of hospitals,
00:19:00we are using real data
00:19:01and proven clinical practices
00:19:03to protect mothers and newborns.
00:19:05In the Perinatal Improvement Collaborative
00:19:08hospitals,
00:19:09we have reduced maternal mortality
00:19:11by 41.5%,
00:19:13which is truly incredible.
00:19:15And this is compared
00:19:16with the 5.9% decline
00:19:18in benchmark hospitals
00:19:20over the same period of time.
00:19:22Our goal is to have every hospital
00:19:24in America doing this,
00:19:26and we're thrilled to be partnering
00:19:27with Heartland Forward
00:19:28to make this happen.
00:19:30We really want every woman
00:19:31to have a healthy delivery
00:19:33and a healthy baby
00:19:34and to make the United States
00:19:35the healthiest place in the world
00:19:37to give birth.
00:19:39Okay.
00:19:39Yes.
00:19:40And I'll also add in
00:19:41that you all
00:19:42and the Trump administration
00:19:42have taken historic steps
00:19:45to really strengthen support
00:19:47for American mothers and families.
00:19:49With the launch of Moms.gov,
00:19:50we're highlighting
00:19:51all of the policy achievements
00:19:52that both you, President Trump,
00:19:54and Secretary Kennedy
00:19:55have advanced
00:19:56to support moms and babies.
00:19:58Moms.gov
00:19:59is the first-of-its-kind resource
00:20:00that offers all sorts of guidance
00:20:02and information
00:20:03to support the health
00:20:04and well-being
00:20:05of mothers and their families.
00:20:08Moms.gov also really helps
00:20:09support expecting parents
00:20:11who are navigating difficult
00:20:12or unexpected pregnancies.
00:20:15We are committed
00:20:16to supporting women's health
00:20:17throughout motherhood
00:20:18and at every stage of life.
00:20:20Supporting women's health
00:20:21is not just a policy,
00:20:22it's a promise.
00:20:24We know that healthy mothers
00:20:26help build healthy families
00:20:27and that healthy families
00:20:28build a healthy America.
00:20:29So I want to thank you,
00:20:31Mr. President,
00:20:32Secretary Kennedy,
00:20:33and everyone here
00:20:33for your support
00:20:34of women's health.
00:20:36Thank you, Doctor,
00:20:37very much.
00:20:38Well done.
00:20:39It's well done.
00:20:40Dr. Adams, please,
00:20:42about child care.
00:20:43Thank you, Mr. President.
00:20:44This Mother's Day,
00:20:45we recognize the reality
00:20:46for millions of Americans
00:20:48that child care
00:20:49has become too expensive,
00:20:51too difficult to find,
00:20:52and too disconnected
00:20:53from the needs
00:20:53of working families.
00:20:55For years,
00:20:56Washington's answer
00:20:56has always been the same.
00:20:57More bureaucracy,
00:20:58more mandates,
00:21:00and higher costs
00:21:00for everyone.
00:21:01President Trump,
00:21:02you are taking
00:21:02a different approach.
00:21:04Under your leadership,
00:21:05we're advancing
00:21:05a child care reform package
00:21:07that puts parents
00:21:07back in charge.
00:21:09And we're going to do
00:21:10three primary things.
00:21:12First, we're restoring
00:21:13parental choice.
00:21:14That means bringing
00:21:15faith-based providers
00:21:16back to the table.
00:21:17And it means recognizing
00:21:18the vital role played
00:21:19by home-based providers,
00:21:21relatives, and parents
00:21:23who choose to stay home
00:21:24during the earliest years
00:21:25of their children's lives.
00:21:26Second, we are cutting
00:21:28unnecessary red tape.
00:21:30Red tape that forced
00:21:31providers to close,
00:21:32limited access to care,
00:21:34and made it harder
00:21:35for working families
00:21:36to find the support
00:21:36they needed.
00:21:37We're moving away
00:21:38from one-size-fits-all
00:21:39federal mandates
00:21:40and instead empowering
00:21:42parents to meet
00:21:43their child's unique needs.
00:21:45And then third,
00:21:46we're strengthening
00:21:47accountability to ensure
00:21:48taxpayer dollars
00:21:49are protected
00:21:50from fraudsters.
00:21:51Under the Biden
00:21:52administration,
00:21:52they essentially
00:21:53backed the Brinks truck
00:21:54up to states
00:21:55and sent the security home.
00:21:56We think Americans
00:21:57deserve better.
00:21:58We will ensure
00:21:59that these funds
00:22:00go to families
00:22:01who truly need support.
00:22:03Our goal is simple,
00:22:04more affordable options,
00:22:05more providers,
00:22:06more choices for parents,
00:22:08and more accountability
00:22:08for taxpayers.
00:22:10Mr. President,
00:22:11your pro-family agenda
00:22:12recognizes a simple truth.
00:22:14Strong families
00:22:15build a strong nation.
00:22:16And if I could just
00:22:17add on a personal note,
00:22:18Mr. President,
00:22:19I want to thank you
00:22:19for your leadership
00:22:20and everybody out here
00:22:21for their leadership
00:22:21on fertility issues.
00:22:22My beautiful baby girl,
00:22:25Emerson,
00:22:25is a product of IVF.
00:22:27And I thank you
00:22:28for your leadership
00:22:28on that issue
00:22:29and sharing the joy
00:22:30of parenthood
00:22:31with many, many more
00:22:32American families.
00:22:33Thank you, sir.
00:22:33Well, thank you very much,
00:22:34Dr. It's great to know.
00:22:36It's been really successful
00:22:38under this administration.
00:22:41And again, Katie,
00:22:42you were so helpful.
00:22:44Bobby, do you have
00:22:44something to say?
00:22:45Very, very briefly,
00:22:47Mr. President,
00:22:48I just wanted to stress
00:22:49how, what a huge win
00:22:51for the Maha movement
00:22:52and for the pro-life movement.
00:22:55Moms.gov is,
00:22:56it is one-stop shopping
00:22:58or IVF for prenatal care,
00:23:01for postnatal care,
00:23:03for nutrition,
00:23:04for baby formula,
00:23:05and of course,
00:23:06for TrumpRx.
00:23:07We have, as Dr. Oz pointed out,
00:23:10a fertility crisis
00:23:11in this country right now.
00:23:12We just found out
00:23:14that we've dropped
00:23:14out of 1.57%.
00:23:17The replacement rate
00:23:19is 2.1.
00:23:21A hundred years ago,
00:23:22we were at 3.27,
00:23:23so more than double
00:23:24than we are today.
00:23:26We are approaching
00:23:28the cataclysmic rates
00:23:29that Japan and China
00:23:31are now experiencing
00:23:32that is threatening
00:23:33their economy.
00:23:34It's a threat
00:23:35not only to our economy,
00:23:37to our national security.
00:23:38It's a direct threat
00:23:39to our social security trust fund,
00:23:42to the Medicare trust fund.
00:23:43President Trump
00:23:45has directed
00:23:46my agency
00:23:47to find out
00:23:48the cause
00:23:49of the fertility crisis,
00:23:51and that is part
00:23:51of this program.
00:23:52We're looking at
00:23:54the impact
00:23:54of metabolic challenges
00:23:56which directly affect
00:23:59fertility,
00:24:00of obesity,
00:24:01which affects fertility,
00:24:03of endocrine disruptors,
00:24:05the pesticides
00:24:06of this toxic soup
00:24:08that our young women
00:24:10are walking around today.
00:24:11to try to figure it out.
00:24:12The fertility crisis
00:24:14for women
00:24:15began in 2007.
00:24:17For men in 1970,
00:24:20men had twice
00:24:21the sperm count
00:24:22as our teenagers do today.
00:24:25This is an existential crisis
00:24:27for our country.
00:24:28We had a series
00:24:31of presidents
00:24:32that were trying
00:24:33to discourage
00:24:34childbirth
00:24:35and motherhood
00:24:36in this country.
00:24:36We now have a president
00:24:37that is trying
00:24:38to encourage it,
00:24:39and I want to thank you
00:24:40again for your leadership.
00:24:41Thank you very much,
00:24:42Bobby.
00:24:43And there's another word,
00:24:44autism,
00:24:45that we're very much
00:24:46involved with,
00:24:47and I have my own ideas,
00:24:49but Oz and Bobby
00:24:51and everybody,
00:24:52they're really focused
00:24:54on it very hard.
00:24:56I think in a certain way,
00:24:57you know,
00:24:58I would like you
00:24:58to look at the payment
00:24:59schedules, Bobby,
00:25:00because I think it's
00:25:02very skewed
00:25:03because of the payment
00:25:04schedules.
00:25:04You understand what I mean?
00:25:05Yes.
00:25:06We're bringing you
00:25:06to the idea,
00:25:07to the president.
00:25:07I think it's crazy.
00:25:09I think that's
00:25:09what's happening.
00:25:10You can't pay more
00:25:11for that to a doctor.
00:25:13I mean,
00:25:14every person around
00:25:16who's going to have
00:25:16autism,
00:25:17that's what's happening.
00:25:18So I really believe
00:25:20that that's very
00:25:21badly skewed.
00:25:22But more importantly,
00:25:23but I would like
00:25:24that done immediately.
00:25:26But more importantly,
00:25:27I think that some
00:25:29great progress
00:25:30has been made.
00:25:31What is this thing
00:25:33that's happening
00:25:34all over the world,
00:25:35but here,
00:25:36what is it?
00:25:37What's going on?
00:25:39And there has
00:25:40to be something
00:25:40because it spiked
00:25:42so much over
00:25:43the last 10 years.
00:25:44It's spiked
00:25:45over the last 15 years.
00:25:47It's gone up
00:25:47many, many times.
00:25:49And I think
00:25:50it's a very important
00:25:50thing to mention.
00:25:51I mention it all the time,
00:25:52having to do
00:25:53with other subjects
00:25:54and then I bring in
00:25:55autism.
00:25:56Anything having to do
00:25:57with medical,
00:25:57I always bring in
00:25:58autism.
00:26:00On another topic,
00:26:02we're looking very
00:26:02serious that natural
00:26:047-0-H
00:26:06and getting that
00:26:07approved,
00:26:08natural 7-0-H.
00:26:10And we'll take a look
00:26:11at that very strongly.
00:26:12I think Oz and
00:26:13everybody were looking
00:26:14to see if we can
00:26:16do something there.
00:26:17A lot of people
00:26:17are asking for it.
00:26:19And thank you very much
00:26:21for the work on that.
00:26:22And with that,
00:26:23do you have any questions?
00:26:25You mentioned
00:26:26that you read
00:26:27the meeting
00:26:27with the generals
00:26:28on Iran.
00:26:29You rejected a deal
00:26:30from Iran over the weekend.
00:26:31Can you tell us anything
00:26:32about that proposal
00:26:33and what,
00:26:34if any,
00:26:35effort was made
00:26:36to break this deal?
00:26:37It was just unacceptable.
00:26:39You know,
00:26:40a lot of people said,
00:26:41well,
00:26:42does he have a plan?
00:26:43Yeah,
00:26:43of course they do.
00:26:44I have the best plan
00:26:44ever.
00:26:45Iran has been defeated
00:26:46militarily,
00:26:47totally.
00:26:48They have a little left.
00:26:50They probably built up
00:26:51during this period of time.
00:26:52We'll knock that out
00:26:52in about a day.
00:26:53But I have a plan.
00:26:55You know what it is?
00:26:56A very simple plan.
00:26:57I don't know why
00:26:57you don't say it
00:26:59like it is.
00:26:59Iran cannot have
00:27:00a nuclear weapon.
00:27:02They're very dangerous.
00:27:03They're very volatile.
00:27:05It's a terrible thing
00:27:07that's happened over there.
00:27:08They've killed
00:27:0842,000 people
00:27:11in the last two months.
00:27:1342,000.
00:27:13At least,
00:27:14that's what we know of.
00:27:1542,000 people.
00:27:16They killed
00:27:17numerous people
00:27:18over the last week.
00:27:19But they killed
00:27:2042,000 people
00:27:22a month ago,
00:27:23a month and a half ago.
00:27:24They were
00:27:25unarmed protesters.
00:27:28Not at all
00:27:28violent protesters.
00:27:30And they started
00:27:31taking them out,
00:27:32shooting them.
00:27:33So,
00:27:34we're not going to let them,
00:27:35that's the plan.
00:27:35You know,
00:27:36people say,
00:27:36what's the plan?
00:27:37The plan is very simple.
00:27:38The blockade,
00:27:39first of all,
00:27:41was a part
00:27:43of military genius,
00:27:44just like Venezuela
00:27:45was military genius.
00:27:46We have the greatest
00:27:46military in the world
00:27:47by far.
00:27:49And we're stocked up
00:27:50with great ammunition.
00:27:51We have much better stuff
00:27:52than we did
00:27:54two months ago
00:27:54when we first did
00:27:55the attack,
00:27:56which knocked them
00:27:57for a loop.
00:27:58But,
00:27:59very simple.
00:28:00Iran cannot have
00:28:02a nuclear weapon.
00:28:03It can't have it.
00:28:04And if they did have it,
00:28:05the Middle East
00:28:06would be gone,
00:28:07Israel would be gone,
00:28:08and they'd hit Europe
00:28:08probably next.
00:28:10We're doing the service
00:28:11to the world.
00:28:12And this has gone on
00:28:13for 47 years.
00:28:14Other presidents
00:28:15and leaders of other
00:28:16countries
00:28:16that have the power
00:28:18should have done it.
00:28:19But they didn't do it.
00:28:20But it's a very simple plan.
00:28:22Iran cannot have
00:28:23a nuclear weapon.
00:28:24And they won't have
00:28:25a nuclear weapon.
00:28:26And they didn't want
00:28:27to go that far.
00:28:28If you can believe it,
00:28:30they didn't.
00:28:31How stupid.
00:28:31Are they stupid people?
00:28:33They didn't want
00:28:34to believe it.
00:28:34They think that,
00:28:35well,
00:28:35I'll get tired of this
00:28:36or I'll get bored
00:28:37or I'll have some pressure.
00:28:38But there's no pressure.
00:28:39There's no pressure at all.
00:28:41We're going to have
00:28:41a complete victory.
00:28:43We've already,
00:28:44in theory,
00:28:44had a complete victory
00:28:45from the military standpoint.
00:28:47The military,
00:28:47look,
00:28:48their Navy is dead.
00:28:49They had 159 ships.
00:28:52Right now,
00:28:52they have zero,
00:28:53other than the little
00:28:54speedboats that go around
00:28:55that got taken out
00:28:55eight a day by us.
00:28:58They have no Air Force.
00:29:00They have no anti-aircraft.
00:29:02Now,
00:29:02they probably put
00:29:03the shoulder jobs
00:29:05into service
00:29:06over the last
00:29:08three weeks,
00:29:09probably.
00:29:10But essentially,
00:29:11they have no anti-aircraft.
00:29:12They have no radar.
00:29:13And frankly,
00:29:14their leaders
00:29:15have been killed
00:29:15at the first level,
00:29:16second level,
00:29:17and half at the third level.
00:29:20And then they come back
00:29:21and they want to negotiate
00:29:23and they give us
00:29:24a stupid proposal.
00:29:25It's a stupid proposal.
00:29:26Nobody would take it,
00:29:28although Obama
00:29:28would have taken it.
00:29:29Biden would have taken it.
00:29:30What they took
00:29:30was far worse.
00:29:32So we stopped him twice.
00:29:34We stopped him
00:29:34when I terminated
00:29:35the worst deal
00:29:36probably ever made
00:29:36in the history
00:29:37of our country
00:29:38in terms of defense.
00:29:39That was the
00:29:41Iran nuclear deal
00:29:42by Barack,
00:29:44penned by Barack Hussein Obama
00:29:46that would have given
00:29:46Iran a nuclear weapon
00:29:48within a year.
00:29:49They would have had it
00:29:50years ago.
00:29:51I terminated that
00:29:52in my first term.
00:29:53And then,
00:29:53when that beautiful plane
00:29:55right there
00:29:55hit them hard,
00:29:57we really hit them hard.
00:29:58And they told me,
00:29:59I want to just tell you this
00:30:00because they like
00:30:01to say,
00:30:02oh, well,
00:30:02maybe it wasn't
00:30:03that hard a hit.
00:30:04Iran told me
00:30:05very strongly
00:30:06because they intend
00:30:07to give us
00:30:08the nuclear dust
00:30:09as I call it.
00:30:10It's easier
00:30:10than talking about
00:30:11other terms
00:30:12because it's a term
00:30:13everyone,
00:30:13but the nuclear dust
00:30:14which is what we hit.
00:30:16And they told me,
00:30:17number one,
00:30:18you're getting it,
00:30:19but you're going
00:30:19to have to take it out
00:30:20because the site
00:30:22was so obliterated
00:30:23that there's only
00:30:25one or two countries
00:30:26in the world
00:30:26that could get it.
00:30:28it's so deep
00:30:29and got hit so hard
00:30:30that there's no way
00:30:32they have the equipment
00:30:32to move it.
00:30:33You and China
00:30:34are the only two countries
00:30:35in the world
00:30:36that could take it out.
00:30:38So we talked about it
00:30:40and they said,
00:30:40you'll have to take it out
00:30:41because we don't have
00:30:42the capability
00:30:43of doing it.
00:30:44So for those people
00:30:45that like to say
00:30:45that those great pilots
00:30:47and those great planes,
00:30:49well, we just ordered
00:30:5022 more of them,
00:30:51new and improved,
00:30:53that those great pilots
00:30:55didn't do their job,
00:30:56they did their job.
00:30:58One o'clock in the morning
00:30:59with no moon,
00:31:00no light,
00:31:00no nothing,
00:31:01every single bomb
00:31:02hit its targets.
00:31:03And then,
00:31:04as you know,
00:31:05we shot
00:31:08some incredible
00:31:10things,
00:31:10things that nobody else has,
00:31:12nobody has a military
00:31:13like we have.
00:31:14We shot the tomahawks
00:31:15from a submarine
00:31:16200 miles away
00:31:18and that went on top of it.
00:31:20But every one of those,
00:31:21including the tomahawks,
00:31:23every one of those
00:31:24weapons and shots
00:31:26hit perfectly.
00:31:27And they said to me,
00:31:29just to put it
00:31:29on the record,
00:31:30they said to me,
00:31:32there are only two countries
00:31:33in the entire world
00:31:34that could ever get
00:31:36that stuff out of there
00:31:37because we don't have
00:31:38the equipment
00:31:38and nobody else.
00:31:39They said China
00:31:41and the United States.
00:31:43So,
00:31:43I just want to let you know
00:31:44those pilots did
00:31:45an unbelievable job,
00:31:47very dangerous job
00:31:49at one o'clock
00:31:50in the morning.
00:31:50Think of it,
00:31:51no moon,
00:31:53no nothing.
00:31:53We had no light,
00:31:54purposely.
00:31:55And every single
00:31:57one of those bombs
00:31:58were right down
00:31:59an air chute
00:32:00in a granite mountain
00:32:01and exploded.
00:32:04And they are unable
00:32:05to get it,
00:32:05even if they wanted to.
00:32:07But we're not going
00:32:07to take a chance.
00:32:08So that's part of the deal.
00:32:09you said you guys
00:32:10agreed to allow
00:32:12the removal
00:32:13of all their rich?
00:32:14Yeah.
00:32:15Well,
00:32:15they did two days ago.
00:32:17They didn't,
00:32:18okay?
00:32:19They did two days ago.
00:32:21They said,
00:32:22you're going to have
00:32:22to take it.
00:32:23We were going to go
00:32:23with them.
00:32:24But they changed their mind
00:32:26because they didn't
00:32:26put it in the paper.
00:32:27So when they sent us
00:32:28this document
00:32:29that we waited
00:32:29four days for
00:32:30that should have
00:32:31taken ten minutes
00:32:32to do,
00:32:33it looked very simple.
00:32:34We get that.
00:32:35They guarantee no
00:32:37nuclear weapons
00:32:38for a very long
00:32:39period of time
00:32:40and a couple
00:32:41of other minor things,
00:32:42but they just
00:32:42can't get there.
00:32:43So they agree with us
00:32:45and then they take it back.
00:32:46But they said to us
00:32:48that it was so
00:32:50badly obliterated,
00:32:52it was the word
00:32:52they actually used,
00:32:53that was my original word,
00:32:55then it got challenged
00:32:56by some of the fake news.
00:32:58And it wasn't challenged
00:32:59with any knowledge,
00:33:00it was just challenged
00:33:01like they were hoping
00:33:03that this wouldn't
00:33:04have been so successful.
00:33:06No, it was obliterated.
00:33:08We have the greatest
00:33:09military in the world.
00:33:11I built it largely
00:33:12in my first term
00:33:13and I didn't know
00:33:14I'd be using it
00:33:15quite this much
00:33:16in my second term.
00:33:17But very simply,
00:33:20when they say,
00:33:21does he have a plan?
00:33:22Yeah, I have a plan.
00:33:23The plan is very simple.
00:33:24You know,
00:33:25in war you have to change,
00:33:26you have to be flexible,
00:33:27you have a lot of plans,
00:33:28but you have to do
00:33:29different plans
00:33:30in different days,
00:33:31but I have a great plan.
00:33:32But the plan is
00:33:33they cannot have
00:33:34a nuclear weapon.
00:33:35And they didn't say
00:33:36that in their letter.
00:33:38Mr. President,
00:33:39the leadership changes
00:33:40that you've talked about
00:33:42in Iran.
00:33:43Is this still
00:33:44a leadership
00:33:44that you believe
00:33:45you can negotiate with
00:33:47and ultimately reach
00:33:48a piece of the way?
00:33:48Well, you have two.
00:33:49You have the moderates
00:33:50and you have the lunatics.
00:33:52And I think
00:33:53the moderates
00:33:54are more respected.
00:33:57The lunatics
00:33:57want to fight
00:33:58till the end,
00:33:58you know.
00:33:59It will be a very,
00:34:00it will be a very quick fight.
00:34:02But I call them,
00:34:03you have,
00:34:04just like our country,
00:34:06we have lunatics too.
00:34:07We have,
00:34:08I call them lunatics,
00:34:09I call them stupid people too.
00:34:11But in Iran,
00:34:12they have the moderates
00:34:13that are dying
00:34:14to make a deal
00:34:14and then you have
00:34:15the lunatics.
00:34:16And I guess
00:34:16they're a little bit
00:34:17afraid of the lunatics,
00:34:18but,
00:34:19and why not?
00:34:21The,
00:34:22the level of ferocity
00:34:24for protests,
00:34:25you know,
00:34:26the people
00:34:27are watching
00:34:28that they want
00:34:28to go out
00:34:28on the streets.
00:34:29They have no weapons.
00:34:30They have no guns.
00:34:31We thought the Kurds
00:34:32were going to give us weapons,
00:34:34but the Kurds
00:34:34disappointed us.
00:34:35The Kurds take,
00:34:36take, take.
00:34:37They have a great reputation
00:34:38in Congress.
00:34:39Congress says,
00:34:40oh, they fight so hard.
00:34:41They fight hard
00:34:42when they get paid.
00:34:43So I'm very disappointed
00:34:44in the Kurds,
00:34:45but they were given,
00:34:48I said it wasn't
00:34:49going to work,
00:34:49by the way,
00:34:50I just have to say it.
00:34:51I, I,
00:34:52I disagreed
00:34:53with what they did.
00:34:54They gave it
00:34:54and I said,
00:34:54they'll never get there.
00:34:56And I was right.
00:34:57I like to be right.
00:34:58In this case,
00:34:59too bad,
00:34:59but we sent some guns
00:35:02with ammunition
00:35:04and they were supposed
00:35:05to be delivered,
00:35:06but they kept it.
00:35:07I said,
00:35:07they're going to keep it,
00:35:08but what,
00:35:09what do I know?
00:35:10I've only been doing this
00:35:11for a short period of time.
00:35:12What do I know?
00:35:12Just because of the time being
00:35:13the ceasefire remains in place.
00:35:15What?
00:35:15For the time being
00:35:16the ceasefire remains in place.
00:35:19It's unbelievably weak,
00:35:22I would say.
00:35:22I would call it
00:35:23the weakest right now.
00:35:26After reading
00:35:26that piece of garbage,
00:35:28I didn't even finish reading it.
00:35:30They said,
00:35:31I'm going to waste
00:35:31my time reading it.
00:35:32I would say
00:35:33it's one of the weakest
00:35:34right now.
00:35:35It's on life support.
00:35:37They understand
00:35:37these are all medical people.
00:35:40Dr. Oz,
00:35:41life support is not
00:35:41a good thing.
00:35:42You're good.
00:35:43I would say
00:35:44the ceasefire
00:35:45is on massive life support
00:35:47where the doctor
00:35:48walks in and says,
00:35:51sir,
00:35:51your loved one
00:35:52has approximately
00:35:53a 1% chance
00:35:55of living.
00:35:57Yeah.
00:35:57Mr. President,
00:35:58sir.
00:35:59Daniel, go ahead.
00:35:59Yep.
00:36:00One of the best reporters
00:36:01in Washington.
00:36:02Thank you, sir.
00:36:03Dr. Oz referenced
00:36:04this a little early.
00:36:04Two questions on health care,
00:36:06if I can.
00:36:06The Council of Economic Advisors
00:36:08released a report
00:36:08saying that
00:36:09the most favored nation
00:36:10drug deals
00:36:11will generate
00:36:12about $529 billion
00:36:14in domestic savings
00:36:15over the next 10 years
00:36:16across all markets.
00:36:18How transformative
00:36:19are these deals?
00:36:21And makes people better.
00:36:22Yeah, it does.
00:36:22How transformative
00:36:23are these deals
00:36:25for millions of Americans?
00:36:26And do you believe
00:36:27that the most favored nation
00:36:29drug deals
00:36:29are the Republicans'
00:36:30golden ticket
00:36:31to the midterms?
00:36:32I think the Republicans
00:36:34should walk away
00:36:35with the midterms.
00:36:35Now, typically,
00:36:36whoever is president,
00:36:38they vote the other way.
00:36:39Nobody knows this.
00:36:40Do we have a psychiatrist
00:36:42in the group?
00:36:43Nobody knows.
00:36:44Because I think
00:36:45we've had the best president.
00:36:46A lot of people have said,
00:36:47even some radical left lunatics
00:36:49have said that
00:36:50we've had the best presidency,
00:36:52the best first year
00:36:52of any president.
00:36:53Look, I stopped eight wars,
00:36:55got the largest tax cuts
00:36:56in history,
00:36:57the largest regulation cuts
00:36:58in history,
00:36:58all the things we've done,
00:37:00so many,
00:37:01like all of this
00:37:01that we've done,
00:37:02medically we've done so much.
00:37:05You know,
00:37:05we did a thing called
00:37:06Right to Try
00:37:07in my first,
00:37:08and I could never understand it
00:37:09when I was a civilian,
00:37:11which wasn't so long ago.
00:37:12I haven't been doing it
00:37:13that long,
00:37:14but I always used to marvel
00:37:15at the fact that
00:37:16if they had a great drug
00:37:18and it had to go through
00:37:19the FDA,
00:37:21and the FDA guarded it
00:37:22and said,
00:37:23you can't use it,
00:37:24and if a person
00:37:25was terminally ill
00:37:26and the drug was
00:37:27showing great promise,
00:37:29the person's terminally ill,
00:37:30they wouldn't give it
00:37:31to the person
00:37:32because they didn't want
00:37:32to hurt the person.
00:37:34And I said,
00:37:35well, we need something
00:37:36and it was very important
00:37:37to me,
00:37:37and I had no idea
00:37:39it would be so hard
00:37:39to get,
00:37:40but we got it in total.
00:37:41We got it in full.
00:37:42It's called Right to Try.
00:37:44That if you're terminally ill,
00:37:46you have the right
00:37:47to try a drug
00:37:49that has not gone
00:37:49even anywhere near final.
00:37:52If it shows
00:37:52even a little promise,
00:37:54and we've saved
00:37:55thousands of lives.
00:37:56It was very hard to get
00:37:57because the insurance
00:37:57companies didn't want it,
00:37:58the doctors didn't want it,
00:38:00because the doctors
00:38:00didn't want to be blamed.
00:38:03The drug companies
00:38:04didn't want it
00:38:04because if it didn't work,
00:38:06they didn't want it
00:38:07on their record.
00:38:07So what we did
00:38:08is we said,
00:38:09we're not going to count
00:38:10it on your record.
00:38:11If somebody's terminally ill
00:38:12and they take the drug,
00:38:13it doesn't work,
00:38:13we're not going to count
00:38:14it on your record.
00:38:14We'll have another record,
00:38:16you know,
00:38:16a little smaller one
00:38:17that not a lot of people
00:38:18look at,
00:38:18but we're not going to count
00:38:20it on your record.
00:38:20So Right to Try
00:38:22has been one of the
00:38:23great successes.
00:38:24Again,
00:38:24nobody talks about it.
00:38:25We've saved
00:38:27thousands of lives,
00:38:28but you know what
00:38:29is maybe even more important?
00:38:31We've learned very quickly
00:38:32that some drugs work
00:38:33and some drugs don't.
00:38:34In other words,
00:38:35some drugs take a person
00:38:37who's terminally ill
00:38:38and there were numerous
00:38:40cases and without waiting
00:38:43seven years,
00:38:44ten years,
00:38:45by the way,
00:38:45we think we've cut it
00:38:46in half,
00:38:47but you do need
00:38:48a period of time.
00:38:49Without waiting
00:38:50many, many years,
00:38:52we know the drug works
00:38:53because we've taken people
00:38:55that were dead.
00:38:56We had a person
00:38:56given the last rights,
00:38:59God,
00:39:00the kids are crying
00:39:01and started them
00:39:03on this drug
00:39:04and the person
00:39:05became better.
00:39:06It works.
00:39:08And some don't work.
00:39:10But you learn
00:39:11really fast.
00:39:11It's called
00:39:12the ultimate test,
00:39:13I think, right?
00:39:14They test all these things.
00:39:15They use animals
00:39:16all over the place.
00:39:18They use everything
00:39:18to test.
00:39:20A person's going to die.
00:39:22So they didn't want it
00:39:24because they didn't
00:39:25want to be sued.
00:39:26The drug companies
00:39:27didn't want to be sued
00:39:28if it didn't work.
00:39:28The country didn't
00:39:29want to be sued.
00:39:30So I got everybody
00:39:31into a room
00:39:32and I said,
00:39:32we're going to do this,
00:39:33but if anybody uses it,
00:39:35they have to sign a document.
00:39:36They signed a very
00:39:36strong document.
00:39:37That they're not
00:39:38going to sue the doctor.
00:39:39They're not going to sue
00:39:40the country.
00:39:41They're not going to sue
00:39:42the manufacturer,
00:39:44the pharmaceutical company.
00:39:45They're not going to sue anybody.
00:39:46But we're going to give it a shot.
00:39:48It has been,
00:39:49right to try,
00:39:49it's been so successful.
00:39:50It's been amazing.
00:39:52Nobody talks about it,
00:39:53but everyone knows
00:39:54how successful.
00:39:54Mr. President,
00:39:55there was a young man
00:39:56that we visited on,
00:39:58actually in Los Angeles,
00:39:59who was taking advantage
00:40:00of this program.
00:40:00Katie actually spoke
00:40:01to him by phone.
00:40:01He's from Alabama.
00:40:03He reached out to you directly
00:40:04and this is the same program
00:40:06that benefited him.
00:40:07And just to put numbers
00:40:07on the Council
00:40:08Economic Advisors,
00:40:09it's between, you know,
00:40:10500 and whatever it was,
00:40:1130 million,
00:40:12as you said,
00:40:12and $700 billion
00:40:13in savings.
00:40:14So we estimate
00:40:16it's $600 billion
00:40:16in total savings.
00:40:17And the impact
00:40:18on the American people,
00:40:19Mr. President,
00:40:19is one in three Americans
00:40:20leave a drugstore
00:40:21without their medication
00:40:22because they can't afford it.
00:40:24Even though they've got
00:40:24a doctor's prescription,
00:40:25they know they can make
00:40:26a difference in their lives,
00:40:28that will no longer happen
00:40:29with the most favored
00:40:29nation drug pricing.
00:40:30And we're giving drugs
00:40:31like the, as you call it,
00:40:33the fat shots,
00:40:34the weight loss drugs
00:40:35to all beneficiaries
00:40:37of Medicare.
00:40:37Every senior in America
00:40:38can get them for $50
00:40:40starting on July 1st.
00:40:41These are just
00:40:42inconceivably good prices
00:40:43and they're so good,
00:40:44in fact,
00:40:45that we actually save
00:40:45the taxpayer money
00:40:46by reducing the downstream
00:40:48effects of obesity,
00:40:49diabetes, and hypertension.
00:40:50Mr. President,
00:40:50all possible because
00:40:51you took brave action.
00:40:53And again,
00:40:53the question we should
00:40:54be asking ourselves
00:40:54is why did that,
00:40:55why didn't this happen
00:40:56a decade ago?
00:40:57Katie, what do you think
00:40:58about that young man?
00:40:58That he is,
00:41:00he has a new lease on hope
00:41:03and it's because of you.
00:41:04I talked to his parents
00:41:04and they said,
00:41:05we feel so good
00:41:06about our country
00:41:07that we literally have
00:41:08the President
00:41:09and Dr. Oz
00:41:10and Secretary Kennedy
00:41:11doing everything possible
00:41:12to give our son
00:41:14a fighting chance.
00:41:15They said before,
00:41:16you know,
00:41:16no one was listening,
00:41:17but you,
00:41:18Mr. President,
00:41:18took action.
00:41:19And Will Roberts,
00:41:20that he,
00:41:21that is such a,
00:41:22he is such a great young man.
00:41:23He's inspired so many people.
00:41:25Nobody talks about us.
00:41:26Thousands of people,
00:41:27but it's also
00:41:29like this incredible
00:41:31laboratory of people
00:41:32that are,
00:41:33they're finished,
00:41:34they're terminally ill,
00:41:36they're not going to live.
00:41:37And we weren't given,
00:41:38and this went on for years.
00:41:39You know,
00:41:40this went on,
00:41:41Madam Secretary,
00:41:42you're doing such a good job
00:41:43with prices,
00:41:44agriculture.
00:41:46How's the beef doing?
00:41:47We've got to get the beef down.
00:41:48We're working on it.
00:41:49It's the only thing.
00:41:50We've got to get the beef down.
00:41:51But this was,
00:41:52this was so incredible
00:41:55because,
00:41:56and I marveled at it
00:41:57for 30 years.
00:41:59Let's say,
00:41:59why,
00:42:00I'd have friends
00:42:01that were terminally ill.
00:42:03You'd meet people
00:42:04that were really
00:42:05in bad shape
00:42:06and weren't going to make it.
00:42:07And they couldn't get a drug
00:42:08that looked like
00:42:08it was going to work.
00:42:09They couldn't get it.
00:42:11They asked me to get it.
00:42:12You have contacts,
00:42:13you know,
00:42:14could you get it?
00:42:15Couldn't get it.
00:42:15You go to jail
00:42:16if you get it.
00:42:17And they're going to die.
00:42:18They'd die three weeks later,
00:42:20four weeks later.
00:42:21And we're saving
00:42:21a lot of people
00:42:22that were gone,
00:42:23that were terminally ill.
00:42:24And what we're doing
00:42:25is producing
00:42:26almost immediately.
00:42:27You know,
00:42:28you can almost immediately
00:42:29approve these drugs.
00:42:31But it was very,
00:42:32you know,
00:42:32look,
00:42:32legally it was a disaster
00:42:33because everybody
00:42:35would be sued.
00:42:35The problem is
00:42:36somebody would die
00:42:37and then they'd blame the drug
00:42:38and then the drug company
00:42:39gets sued,
00:42:40the doctors,
00:42:40the country gets sued,
00:42:41you know,
00:42:42a member of the family
00:42:43goes crazy
00:42:44and you're settling
00:42:45for millions of dollars
00:42:47because you killed somebody
00:42:48that was going to be dead
00:42:49in two weeks.
00:42:50So I did that
00:42:52and I'm very proud of it.
00:42:54The other thing,
00:42:54the doctor mentioned,
00:42:55the fat drug.
00:42:57So think of it,
00:43:00$87 it would sell in London
00:43:02and $1,300 in New York
00:43:06for the exact same box
00:43:09made,
00:43:09I won't name the company,
00:43:10made by the same company
00:43:12in the same facility,
00:43:15$87 in London,
00:43:17$87 in Heidelberg,
00:43:20$87 in Paris,
00:43:24$1,370 in New York.
00:43:27And this went on
00:43:28for a long time
00:43:30and I want to say,
00:43:31you know,
00:43:31he could be a famous guy,
00:43:32he's begging me
00:43:33not to release his name.
00:43:35He's a very highly neurotic,
00:43:37very fat,
00:43:38sort of a fat slob,
00:43:40I would call him,
00:43:41but he's a brilliant man.
00:43:42We know many of those people.
00:43:44He's a brilliant guy,
00:43:45actually,
00:43:46but he said,
00:43:47President,
00:43:48what the hell's going on here?
00:43:50He didn't need the money,
00:43:51he's rich as hell,
00:43:52but he just couldn't understand
00:43:54why he had to pay
00:43:54so little in London.
00:43:55He went to London
00:43:57and he couldn't understand it.
00:43:58He said,
00:43:59this is crazy.
00:44:00And it actually motivated me
00:44:02in a certain way
00:44:02because he was very smart.
00:44:03He did a study.
00:44:05He actually sent his people
00:44:06and he traced this medicine
00:44:08and he found out
00:44:10it was,
00:44:10the box here
00:44:11is the same box
00:44:12as he had in New York.
00:44:13It was made
00:44:14of the same plant
00:44:15and it cost,
00:44:16you know,
00:44:1710 times more here
00:44:18than it did in London.
00:44:20And there are worse stories
00:44:22than that.
00:44:23And I said,
00:44:23that's it.
00:44:24It's over.
00:44:25We're going to do it.
00:44:25That got me
00:44:27really motivated.
00:44:28He's begging me
00:44:28not to release his name
00:44:30because he is
00:44:30a well-known person.
00:44:32And I so destroyed
00:44:34his reputation
00:44:35in terms of his physicality
00:44:37that he just doesn't want
00:44:39I said,
00:44:40you know,
00:44:40you've had a big impact
00:44:41on medicine
00:44:42because you got
00:44:43to be better
00:44:44than any normal person
00:44:45could have,
00:44:46you know.
00:44:46He said,
00:44:47no,
00:44:47I don't want to.
00:44:48Okay.
00:44:48Yeah, please.
00:44:49What do you hope
00:44:50to get out of the summit
00:44:52in China
00:44:52and how much
00:44:53has the war in Iran
00:44:54changed the agenda?
00:44:56I have a great relationship
00:44:57with President Xi.
00:44:58We're doing a lot of business,
00:44:59but it's smart business.
00:45:00We used to be
00:45:01taken advantage of
00:45:03for years
00:45:03with our previous presidents.
00:45:05And now we're doing great
00:45:06with China.
00:45:07We make a lot of money
00:45:07with China.
00:45:08I have a great relationship
00:45:09with President Xi.
00:45:11And I think you can see
00:45:13that with the fact
00:45:13that in Hormuz,
00:45:15they get a big percentage,
00:45:1640% of their oil
00:45:18from Hormuz.
00:45:19There's been
00:45:20no ships coming in,
00:45:21no nasty ships coming in
00:45:23that we end up
00:45:24in skirmishes with.
00:45:26There's been,
00:45:27he'd like to see it get done.
00:45:28He doesn't want to see it.
00:45:30I'll tell you what,
00:45:30look,
00:45:30I respect him a lot
00:45:32and hopefully
00:45:33he respects me.
00:45:34He didn't respect
00:45:35our previous government,
00:45:36that I can tell you.
00:45:38The guy couldn't talk.
00:45:40It was ridiculous
00:45:40how that ever happened.
00:45:42Our country
00:45:43has hurt so badly
00:45:43the last four years.
00:45:45You know,
00:45:45I say it all the time.
00:45:47It was the king
00:45:48of Saudi Arabia,
00:45:49but everybody says,
00:45:50we were a dead country
00:45:51a year and a half ago
00:45:53and now we're
00:45:53the hottest country
00:45:54anywhere in the world.
00:45:55And you know that
00:45:56better than anybody.
00:45:57You know,
00:45:57you see that,
00:45:59Olivia sees that,
00:46:00you see it in the numbers,
00:46:01look at the numbers,
00:46:02look at the stock market.
00:46:03The stock market
00:46:04is now higher
00:46:04than it was
00:46:05when this war started.
00:46:07So I thought
00:46:08that would go down
00:46:0920, 25%.
00:46:10I was,
00:46:11it was fine.
00:46:12You know,
00:46:13I'm willing to,
00:46:14I'm willing to,
00:46:15it's a terrible expression,
00:46:17take a bullet.
00:46:18It's a terrible expression,
00:46:20especially when
00:46:21it's used by me.
00:46:22But I am.
00:46:24I'm willing to take
00:46:24a bullet for the country.
00:46:26And I said,
00:46:26look,
00:46:26the stock market
00:46:27is going to go down,
00:46:28but we're going to have
00:46:29a threat of lunatics
00:46:32having,
00:46:33they're lunatics,
00:46:34having a nuclear weapon.
00:46:36I deal with them.
00:46:37I deal with them.
00:46:38I say it to them.
00:46:39I say,
00:46:39you people are crazy.
00:46:41I deal with them.
00:46:42They talk differently.
00:46:44I say,
00:46:44you're crazy.
00:46:45You're crazy people.
00:46:47You're nuts.
00:46:47You're not having
00:46:48a nuclear weapon.
00:46:49They think they can
00:46:49talk me into it
00:46:51and they don't do
00:46:53very well with it.
00:46:53But they know
00:46:54how I feel.
00:46:55They can't have
00:46:56a nuclear weapon.
00:46:57They would use it
00:46:57within an hour
00:46:58after getting it.
00:47:00If the Obama deal
00:47:01wasn't terminated by me,
00:47:03they would have had it
00:47:03six years ago.
00:47:05And they would have
00:47:06used it immediately
00:47:07on Israel
00:47:08and also the rest
00:47:09of the Middle East.
00:47:10You saw that
00:47:11when they started
00:47:11shooting rockets.
00:47:12Nobody thought
00:47:13Saudi Arabia and Qatar
00:47:15and UAE
00:47:16were going to get hit.
00:47:17or Kuwait,
00:47:18Bahrain.
00:47:20I think it was
00:47:21a tremendous
00:47:22strategic mistake.
00:47:24And they wasted
00:47:24those missiles.
00:47:25We have the Patriots
00:47:26that knocked them
00:47:26down every time.
00:47:28You know,
00:47:28we had,
00:47:28I told the story,
00:47:29we have,
00:47:30we were shot at
00:47:32one of our great assets,
00:47:33happened to be a ship,
00:47:34great ship.
00:47:36111 missiles
00:47:37going at very high
00:47:39rates of speed.
00:47:40Sophisticated equipment.
00:47:41And, you know,
00:47:42that's all they did
00:47:43is build missiles,
00:47:44thousands of missiles.
00:47:45Who does this
00:47:46except for people
00:47:47that are looking
00:47:48for travel?
00:47:49We had 111 shot
00:47:51at one of our ships
00:47:53over a very short
00:47:54period of time.
00:47:55Out of 111 missiles
00:47:57going at
00:47:573,000 miles an hour,
00:48:00all 111 missiles
00:48:02were knocked down
00:48:04into the ocean
00:48:05prior,
00:48:06long prior to
00:48:07arriving at the target.
00:48:09And the cool guys,
00:48:10the coolest guys
00:48:11are the guys
00:48:11that do this.
00:48:13They're not brawn,
00:48:14they're brain.
00:48:15They sit there,
00:48:16missile shot,
00:48:17you're going to see
00:48:17it happening.
00:48:18Missiles coming.
00:48:19They got like about
00:48:2013 seconds
00:48:21to make a decision.
00:48:22It's not like,
00:48:23gee, let's figure it out.
00:48:24They make a wrong
00:48:25calculation.
00:48:27You know,
00:48:28you lose some,
00:48:29a lot of men,
00:48:30a lot of men
00:48:31and a lot of
00:48:33billion dollars
00:48:34times 10 ships.
00:48:35So,
00:48:36but there's a level
00:48:37of coolness
00:48:38that missile shot
00:48:39meant they'd look
00:48:40blah, blah, blah,
00:48:41blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:48:42And, you know,
00:48:43they're going,
00:48:45heading 47 degrees north,
00:48:481,300 feet,
00:48:50going 3,000 miles an hour.
00:48:53Okay,
00:48:54we have it in our side.
00:48:56Fire.
00:48:57Boom.
00:48:5810 seconds there.
00:49:00Let me tell you,
00:49:02they need smart people.
00:49:03These people are smart.
00:49:05And they're so smart
00:49:06that they're cool.
00:49:06You know,
00:49:07under the calculations,
00:49:08for some people
00:49:09are very tough.
00:49:10For other people,
00:49:12not so tough.
00:49:13There's, you know,
00:49:13about 1%.
00:49:14There's not too many.
00:49:16There's not too many
00:49:17people around like that.
00:49:19I say,
00:49:20I call,
00:49:20a lot of times,
00:49:21I'll call these gunners
00:49:22because they're phenomenal,
00:49:23geniuses.
00:49:24You know,
00:49:25where did you go to school?
00:49:26I went to MIT.
00:49:27Where did you go to school?
00:49:28I went to the best schools.
00:49:30Smart.
00:49:31Got to be smart.
00:49:32We have the greatest
00:49:33military in the world.
00:49:34So, okay.
00:49:35Just a question.
00:49:36Senator President,
00:49:36back to motherhood.
00:49:37Your One Big Beautiful Bill.
00:49:38I like that.
00:49:40Because this is about
00:49:42motherhood,
00:49:42not about
00:49:43the beautiful country
00:49:45of Iran.
00:49:46Go ahead.
00:49:46Thank you all
00:49:47for being here.
00:49:47Your One Big Beautiful Bill
00:49:48defunded Planned Parenthood
00:49:50for one year,
00:49:50but that expires
00:49:52on this July 4th.
00:49:53Would you like Congress
00:49:54to use reconciliation?
00:49:55Well, let's see what happens.
00:49:56Congress is now negotiating.
00:49:59We've been
00:50:00very good
00:50:01for the people
00:50:02that want it,
00:50:02for the people
00:50:03that are here.
00:50:04And we'll see
00:50:05how that goes.
00:50:06It's been a very thorny,
00:50:07to put it mildly,
00:50:09it's been a very thorny issue.
00:50:11It's all under
00:50:12negotiation right now.
00:50:14Yes, ma'am?
00:50:14We'd like to see that
00:50:15defund continue.
00:50:16Go ahead, please.
00:50:16Thank you,
00:50:17Mr. President.
00:50:19What do you think
00:50:20about the handling
00:50:21of the Hunter virus
00:50:23by the U.S.?
00:50:24I think fine.
00:50:25Do you regret
00:50:27the drawing
00:50:27from the WHO?
00:50:29No, I'm glad.
00:50:31So,
00:50:32we were paying
00:50:34the World Health Organization
00:50:37$500 million a year.
00:50:39Look,
00:50:39it's a lot of money,
00:50:40but in the overall scope,
00:50:41it's not that much,
00:50:42but it's a lot of money.
00:50:43And
00:50:44we weren't being treated well.
00:50:46And they were making
00:50:47the wrong diagnoses.
00:50:49I was the one
00:50:50that said it came from Wuhan.
00:50:51They didn't say that.
00:50:52They refused to say that
00:50:54because they were
00:50:54totally owned by China.
00:50:56So,
00:50:57I was saying
00:50:57it came from Wuhan.
00:50:59They didn't want to say that.
00:51:00Now it's turned out,
00:51:01I think it's been
00:51:02conclusive
00:51:02that it came from Wuhan.
00:51:03But I said that
00:51:04on the first day
00:51:05because I saw
00:51:06satellite pictures
00:51:07with body bags
00:51:08all over Wuhan.
00:51:09Literally
00:51:10all over Wuhan.
00:51:12So,
00:51:12I said that.
00:51:12They lied to me
00:51:13or they didn't know.
00:51:15So,
00:51:16we were paying
00:51:16for,
00:51:18let's say,
00:51:18350 million people.
00:51:20We were paying
00:51:21$500 million
00:51:23a year
00:51:24to the World Health Organization.
00:51:26That's a lot of money.
00:51:26What the hell
00:51:27are they going to do
00:51:27with that kind of money?
00:51:28And China was paying
00:51:29$39 million a year
00:51:31for 1.4 billion people.
00:51:35So,
00:51:35I said,
00:51:36you know,
00:51:36you got your story wrong
00:51:37because
00:51:38we should be paying
00:51:39about $10 million,
00:51:40not $500 million.
00:51:42And they were willing
00:51:43to negotiate,
00:51:44but it was so popular
00:51:45when I pulled out.
00:51:46They gave us
00:51:47all wrong information
00:51:48on COVID.
00:51:49They were totally wrong.
00:51:50And I looked today
00:51:51and I saw the same doctor
00:51:52that was there.
00:51:54He's a good politician.
00:51:55I don't know how
00:51:55the hell he kept his job,
00:51:56but he was there
00:51:57telling us about this.
00:51:59Now,
00:51:59the one thing
00:51:59with this one
00:52:00is that it's
00:52:01much harder to catch.
00:52:04And we've had it
00:52:05for a long,
00:52:05it's been around
00:52:06for a long time.
00:52:07People are very familiar
00:52:08with it.
00:52:08So,
00:52:09you know,
00:52:10I hope it's fine.
00:52:11All I can do
00:52:12is everything
00:52:13that a president can do,
00:52:14which is somewhat,
00:52:15which is actually
00:52:16somewhat limited.
00:52:17But it seems like
00:52:19it is not easy
00:52:22to spread.
00:52:23In fact,
00:52:24it's in certain ways
00:52:26very hard to spread.
00:52:27It's been,
00:52:28we've lived with it
00:52:29for years,
00:52:30many years,
00:52:31and we think
00:52:32we're in very good shape.
00:52:33We're very careful.
00:52:33And Nebraska
00:52:34has done a fantastic job.
00:52:36They have a place there
00:52:39that those doctors
00:52:40are unbelievable,
00:52:42the job they've done.
00:52:43Yeah, please.
00:52:43Mr. President,
00:52:43are you going to suspend
00:52:44the federal gas tax?
00:52:46Yeah,
00:52:47I'm going to reduce
00:52:48until the,
00:52:49let me tell you,
00:52:50as soon as this is over
00:52:52with Iran,
00:52:53as soon as it's over,
00:52:54you're going to see
00:52:56gasoline and oil
00:52:57drop like a rock.
00:52:59Going to be dropping
00:53:00down like a rock.
00:53:02I mean,
00:53:03already,
00:53:03look,
00:53:04just on the basis of,
00:53:06you know,
00:53:07things have happened.
00:53:08When it first came about,
00:53:1220% of the oil
00:53:13came out of Hormuz.
00:53:14That's a lot.
00:53:16But,
00:53:16you know,
00:53:17with time,
00:53:18it's like,
00:53:19they're going to Texas,
00:53:21they're going to Louisiana,
00:53:23they're going to Alaska,
00:53:24a lot of Alaska.
00:53:25Alaska is,
00:53:25you know,
00:53:26sort of,
00:53:26it seems like very far away
00:53:27from the,
00:53:28from Asia,
00:53:30but it's actually
00:53:31a relatively short trip
00:53:33by comparison
00:53:34to other locations
00:53:35they have to go to
00:53:36to get oil.
00:53:37And,
00:53:38they're going to Alaska.
00:53:39In fact,
00:53:40our big problem
00:53:40is we're building
00:53:41bigger docks,
00:53:42docking,
00:53:43you know,
00:53:43Dr. Phillip.
00:53:44But we have,
00:53:46we've become very big
00:53:47on the filling station.
00:53:48We're a big filling station.
00:53:50And what's happening is,
00:53:53when this first,
00:53:54when people heard about
00:53:56losing Hormuz,
00:53:57they said,
00:53:57oh,
00:53:57this is,
00:53:58it's genius.
00:54:00They're finding
00:54:01other locations.
00:54:02And some of those people,
00:54:03I spoke to them,
00:54:04companies and countries,
00:54:06some of those people
00:54:07are going to continue
00:54:07to go to Texas.
00:54:08They like it better.
00:54:09They said,
00:54:10it's an extra 45 minutes.
00:54:12They like it better.
00:54:14And,
00:54:15it's sort of amazing,
00:54:17you know,
00:54:17it found its way.
00:54:18So,
00:54:19a lot of people thought
00:54:19oil would go to
00:54:20$250,
00:54:21$300.
00:54:22It's not.
00:54:22I mean,
00:54:23today it's at less
00:54:24than $100.
00:54:25Think of that.
00:54:26Now,
00:54:27when this ends,
00:54:29you're going to see
00:54:29it drop like a rock.
00:54:31How long are you
00:54:31going to suspend
00:54:32that tax for them?
00:54:34Until it's appropriate,
00:54:35yeah.
00:54:35Until it's appropriate.
00:54:36How soon?
00:54:37It's a,
00:54:37you know,
00:54:38it's a small percentage,
00:54:39but it's still money.
00:54:41Mr. President,
00:54:42do you still believe
00:54:43a diplomatic solution
00:54:44is possible
00:54:45with Iran,
00:54:46or do you only have
00:54:47military options like this?
00:54:48No,
00:54:48I think it's very possible.
00:54:51Look,
00:54:51I've had to deal with them
00:54:52four or five times.
00:54:53They change your mind.
00:54:54They're very dishonorable people.
00:54:56The leadership.
00:54:58Don't forget,
00:54:59it's the third level.
00:55:00The first level is God.
00:55:01They were unreasonable.
00:55:03The second level
00:55:04was more reasonable.
00:55:05The third level,
00:55:06nobody wants to be president,
00:55:07you know?
00:55:08They say,
00:55:09who wants to be president?
00:55:10There's nobody
00:55:10who raises their hand.
00:55:12But we're,
00:55:14they just,
00:55:15they change their mind.
00:55:16I've had that
00:55:17in business many times.
00:55:18You know,
00:55:19the mind change,
00:55:19as you call them.
00:55:20These people,
00:55:21you make a deal,
00:55:22and then the next day
00:55:23they send you a document
00:55:24that takes,
00:55:25that takes
00:55:27five days to get there
00:55:28when it should have been there
00:55:29in 20 minutes.
00:55:30You know,
00:55:30it's a pretty simple document.
00:55:31They will never have
00:55:33a nuclear weapon.
00:55:34Yeah?
00:55:34Thank you, sir.
00:55:35I was speaking with Claire Lai
00:55:36this morning.
00:55:37She's the daughter of Jimmy Lai,
00:55:38and she told me that
00:55:39she's been praying
00:55:39and hoping that you'll be
00:55:40the one that brings her dad home.
00:55:42She says,
00:55:42of any administration,
00:55:43she thinks you're the one
00:55:45that could do it.
00:55:46Do you think you can?
00:55:46Jimmy Lai.
00:55:47Jimmy Lai's daughter.
00:55:48And there's another gentleman,
00:55:50a minister,
00:55:51pastor,
00:55:51as you know.
00:55:52I'll bring them both up.
00:55:55I brought it up before.
00:55:56Jimmy Lai I brought up.
00:55:58The other one I just heard
00:55:59about this morning,
00:55:59actually,
00:56:01and I do bring that up.
00:56:03You know,
00:56:03we've gotten,
00:56:04I don't know if you've been reading,
00:56:05John Cole,
00:56:06who's a great lawyer.
00:56:08He was a tobacco lawyer.
00:56:10He's a great,
00:56:11great guy.
00:56:12I won't say he's an older guy
00:56:13because he may be offended
00:56:14by that,
00:56:15but he is.
00:56:15He's a little older.
00:56:16He's a little older,
00:56:17and he's a wise man,
00:56:18actually.
00:56:19Made a fortune
00:56:20with the tobacco.
00:56:21He did the first tobacco lawsuit,
00:56:23and he's a great man,
00:56:24and he's brought back
00:56:26hundreds of people
00:56:28out of various Belarus.
00:56:31You know,
00:56:31you read about that.
00:56:32We had,
00:56:33and the leader
00:56:34has been fantastic.
00:56:36But somebody has to ask him.
00:56:38Biden never asked,
00:56:39we ask.
00:56:39And we're getting
00:56:41hundreds of people
00:56:42out of confinement
00:56:43and prisons
00:56:44that shouldn't be there,
00:56:46and hundreds,
00:56:46and many of them
00:56:47aren't even citizens
00:56:49of the United States.
00:56:50They're people
00:56:50that have been captured
00:56:51in some form,
00:56:52ministers,
00:56:54people that are
00:56:55really innocent people,
00:56:56and they're being
00:56:57held captive.
00:56:59And I bring up
00:57:00Jimmy Lai.
00:57:02Now,
00:57:02Jimmy Lai,
00:57:02you know,
00:57:03he caused
00:57:04a lot of bedlam.
00:57:06I don't know.
00:57:07It's like saying
00:57:08to me,
00:57:10if Comey ever
00:57:11went to jail,
00:57:12would you let him out?
00:57:16It might be
00:57:17a hard one for me.
00:57:18Does that make sense?
00:57:19It might be hard
00:57:20because he's a dirty cop.
00:57:23But Jimmy Lai
00:57:23is in that way.
00:57:24But Jimmy Lai,
00:57:25he caused
00:57:27lots of turmoil
00:57:28for China.
00:57:30He tried to do
00:57:31the right thing.
00:57:32He wasn't successful.
00:57:33Went to jail,
00:57:33and people would
00:57:34like him out,
00:57:35and I'd like to see
00:57:36him get out, too.
00:57:37So I'll bring him up again.
00:57:39I have brought him up.
00:57:40And there's another gentleman,
00:57:41a pastor,
00:57:42as you know,
00:57:43with a beautiful daughter
00:57:45and son-in-law
00:57:46that would like
00:57:47to see him get out.
00:57:48I'm going to bring
00:57:48his name up.
00:57:49Mr. President,
00:57:49what about Taiwan?
00:57:50Do you expect Taiwan
00:57:51to come up in your name?
00:57:52Yeah, it always comes up.
00:57:54Yeah, it always comes up.
00:57:56I used to say
00:57:59Ukraine would...
00:58:00You know,
00:58:00four years,
00:58:01you never even heard
00:58:02the word Ukraine.
00:58:02It was never going to happen.
00:58:04And it was handled
00:58:05so badly,
00:58:07Ukraine.
00:58:07Ukraine should have
00:58:08never come up.
00:58:09They lost last month
00:58:1025,000 soldiers,
00:58:12both sides.
00:58:1325,000.
00:58:14They're losing,
00:58:14on average,
00:58:1525,000 soldiers.
00:58:16It's like a meat grinder.
00:58:17It's horrible
00:58:18what's happening.
00:58:19That would have
00:58:20never happened
00:58:20had the election
00:58:21not been rigged.
00:58:22That would have
00:58:22never happened.
00:58:24And Putin and I
00:58:24would talk about it,
00:58:25but there was never
00:58:26any...
00:58:27He would have
00:58:28never done it.
00:58:30Taiwan,
00:58:32I equated a little bit
00:58:33to that.
00:58:34If you have
00:58:34the right president,
00:58:35I don't think
00:58:36it'll happen.
00:58:36I think we'll be fine.
00:58:37I have a very good
00:58:38relationship
00:58:39with President Xi
00:58:40because I don't
00:58:41want that to happen.
00:58:43Very far away.
00:58:44Very, very far away.
00:58:46We're just at 9,500 miles.
00:58:50We're 9,500 miles.
00:58:52He's 67 miles.
00:58:54It's a little bit
00:58:55of a difference,
00:58:56but there's a lot of support
00:58:59for Taiwan
00:59:00from Japan
00:59:00and from countries
00:59:02from that area.
00:59:03Do you think
00:59:04we should still be
00:59:04selling them weapons?
00:59:06The United States
00:59:06should be selling them
00:59:07that discussion
00:59:08with President Xi.
00:59:09President Xi
00:59:10would like us not to,
00:59:12and I'll have
00:59:13that discussion.
00:59:13That's one of the
00:59:14many things
00:59:15I'll be talking about.
00:59:16We'll have a...
00:59:17You know,
00:59:18he and I have gotten
00:59:18along well.
00:59:19Other than with COVID,
00:59:20you know,
00:59:20I was not...
00:59:23I was just not accepting
00:59:25of what happened
00:59:26with COVID,
00:59:26but other than that,
00:59:28he and I have had...
00:59:29He's a great gentleman.
00:59:30I find him to be
00:59:31an amazing...
00:59:33an amazing man,
00:59:35and when I say that,
00:59:36the press always says,
00:59:37oh, that's terrible
00:59:38that he called them.
00:59:39You know,
00:59:39he runs 1.4 billion people
00:59:41with a pretty iron fist.
00:59:44He's...
00:59:45He loves his country,
00:59:47I can tell you,
00:59:47that President Xi.
00:59:48I look forward
00:59:49to being there,
00:59:50and if he felt anything,
00:59:52we wouldn't...
00:59:52We wouldn't be doing it,
00:59:54but a lot of good things
00:59:56can happen.
00:59:56Now, we'll be talking about...
00:59:58I mean,
00:59:58he'll bring up Taiwan,
01:00:00I think,
01:00:01more than I will,
01:00:02but I think that
01:00:04a discussion
01:00:05will be a little bit about...
01:00:07a little bit about energy
01:00:09and about the very beautiful
01:00:12country of Iran.
01:00:13Mr. President...
01:00:14And by the way,
01:00:14Iran is a beautiful country,
01:00:16but it's got people running it now
01:00:18that shouldn't be there, perhaps.
01:00:20Yeah.
01:00:20Mr. President,
01:00:20just a couple questions.
01:00:21Outside of these amazing benefits
01:00:23from employers for IVF,
01:00:25there are a lot of women out there
01:00:26who either they work part-time
01:00:28or they self-pay
01:00:29for health insurance.
01:00:30Is there an option
01:00:31for cheaper IVF
01:00:32for those women?
01:00:33And what would you like to know?
01:00:36For IVF,
01:00:37bring it down to the cost
01:00:38that's associated...
01:00:39I don't know.
01:00:39Olivia,
01:00:40could you answer that question?
01:00:42We're trying to make...
01:00:43We're putting her
01:00:43through a little training here, Tom.
01:00:45Let's see whether or not
01:00:46she's got it.
01:00:48I have no doubt she does.
01:00:49Just a softball
01:00:50from the President.
01:00:51Healthy moms,
01:00:52healthy babies, America.
01:00:52Let's give this one to Olivia.
01:00:54We are focused on making America
01:00:56the safest and best place
01:00:57to have a baby.
01:00:59The IVF question,
01:01:00I think you probably
01:01:01would be better hit
01:01:01by Senator Britt
01:01:02and Dr. Fink and others.
01:01:05Yeah, so what we're trying
01:01:05to do is obviously
01:01:06make sure that people
01:01:07have greater access
01:01:08and that the affordability
01:01:10goes down.
01:01:10We did that, obviously,
01:01:11with what you saw
01:01:12from the President last year
01:01:13in the two different
01:01:14announcements he made.
01:01:15We've seen, you know,
01:01:17over, gosh,
01:01:18I mean, thousands of people
01:01:19have more access
01:01:20with regards to affordability.
01:01:22I think we've saved
01:01:23about $15 billion,
01:01:24but we know that this
01:01:25is going to go up
01:01:26to the tons of billions
01:01:28of dollars
01:01:28than what we're doing here.
01:01:30With being able
01:01:30to allow employers
01:01:32to do this,
01:01:32we think it will ultimately
01:01:34drive down to each
01:01:35and every person.
01:01:36So that is the point.
01:01:38The more that people
01:01:39are able,
01:01:39and we want to get,
01:01:40as Secretary Kennedy said,
01:01:41we want to get
01:01:41to root causes as well.
01:01:43So we want to make sure
01:01:43that we are treating
01:01:45the entire issue,
01:01:47not just putting a Band-Aid
01:01:48on it and moving on.
01:01:49We want people
01:01:49who want to bring life
01:01:50into the world
01:01:51to have that opportunity.
01:01:52We do believe
01:01:53that this will do that.
01:01:53So a combination
01:01:54of allowing this
01:01:56to be available,
01:01:57but then also
01:01:57the affordability element,
01:01:59I think it's down,
01:02:00as he said,
01:02:01I mean,
01:02:02some of these drugs
01:02:03down 80% from a year ago,
01:02:04some down 40%
01:02:05every year ago.
01:02:06So it's a really
01:02:07exciting time,
01:02:08and we do think
01:02:09that this will ultimately
01:02:10be able to reach
01:02:11all Americans.
01:02:11But a lot of people
01:02:12don't realize
01:02:13it's available.
01:02:14I spoke to people,
01:02:15they don't know
01:02:16about the Trump,
01:02:19they don't know
01:02:19about any of these things.
01:02:21where you're saving
01:02:23so much money,
01:02:24where they can
01:02:24actually afford it.
01:02:26You know,
01:02:26when you get prices
01:02:27down to just a tiny fraction
01:02:30of what they used to be,
01:02:31that's one of the reasons.
01:02:32I don't need it
01:02:32for myself,
01:02:33I get enough publicity.
01:02:35But I need it
01:02:36to inform the public.
01:02:38A lot of people,
01:02:39like your question
01:02:39is a good question,
01:02:40but a lot of people
01:02:41don't know IVF
01:02:42and so many other things
01:02:43that could help them
01:02:45that they assume
01:02:46it's so expensive
01:02:47it's not within
01:02:48their price range
01:02:48and they're not going
01:02:49to be able to afford it
01:02:50or even think about it.
01:02:51And then they hear
01:02:52about these numbers
01:02:53and in addition,
01:02:54there's some help
01:02:55that we give them
01:02:56beyond even the low numbers.
01:02:57Mr. President,
01:02:57only one in three Americans
01:02:59know what TrumpRx.gov does.
01:03:01It would be a great service.
01:03:03I know he kids you
01:03:03a lot about this
01:03:04not getting reported
01:03:07on appropriately,
01:03:07but there is no excuse
01:03:09to buy drug in America
01:03:10and not check TrumpRx.gov
01:03:11just to make sure
01:03:12you're getting the best price.
01:03:13Think of it
01:03:14as a transparency site.
01:03:15And sir,
01:03:16we've got tens of millions
01:03:17of people who are going to it,
01:03:18but there's hundreds
01:03:19of millions of Americans.
01:03:20So we have got to get
01:03:21Americans realize
01:03:21you mentioned fertility.
01:03:23Fertility drugs
01:03:24are probably a third
01:03:25of the cost
01:03:26of the entire process.
01:03:27Those to drop by 90%
01:03:29dramatically changes
01:03:30the equation.
01:03:31And there are private companies
01:03:32who are now taking advantage
01:03:33of the whole group
01:03:34of individuals
01:03:35who can get access
01:03:36to fertility medications
01:03:37and the treatments
01:03:38that go with them.
01:03:39As the services get better,
01:03:40we make them more affordable.
01:03:42We'll have more Trump babies.
01:03:43Yeah, and we hope
01:03:43that that lays
01:03:44the groundwork there
01:03:45so that anyone
01:03:45has the ability
01:03:46to receive these.
01:03:48And also remember,
01:03:49this is all on moms.gov
01:03:50as well.
01:03:50That's one thing
01:03:51we're trying to do
01:03:52is make sure
01:03:52that we're pushing people
01:03:53to all of these resources
01:03:54because when you either
01:03:56want to have a child
01:03:57or you find out
01:03:57you have a child,
01:03:58you know,
01:03:59sometimes that's
01:03:59a very exciting thing.
01:04:00Sometimes, you know,
01:04:01it's you're
01:04:01a little overwhelmed.
01:04:03We want all
01:04:03of those resources
01:04:04to be in one spot
01:04:05so that we can help
01:04:06these women
01:04:06in their journey to mother.
01:04:08And when people hear
01:04:09how inexpensive it is,
01:04:10relative,
01:04:11you know,
01:04:11they can't even think about it,
01:04:12now all of a sudden
01:04:13they say,
01:04:13I can afford that.
01:04:14And they get help
01:04:15also in affording it.
01:04:16There are ways
01:04:17of getting help
01:04:18to afford
01:04:19even those low prices.
01:04:20How about one more
01:04:21last question?
01:04:22Thank you, Mr. President.
01:04:24What do you say
01:04:25to infectious diseases experts
01:04:27who say they are worried
01:04:29the country may not
01:04:29be prepared to deal
01:04:30with something
01:04:31like coronavirus
01:04:32because of all the HHS,
01:04:34you know,
01:04:34funding and staffing cuts?
01:04:36Well, I think
01:04:37we take care of that.
01:04:38Do you want to answer that?
01:04:39It's just not true.
01:04:40J. Bhattacharya
01:04:41has taken this task
01:04:42on.
01:04:43Secretary Kennedy
01:04:43is involved with them.
01:04:44You can speak to him
01:04:45perhaps even better
01:04:46than, frankly,
01:04:46best in the room.
01:04:47But the country's prepared
01:04:48and the CDC's focused on it
01:04:50and the agency
01:04:51is well aware
01:04:53of the opportunities
01:04:54to actually treat
01:04:54this problem,
01:04:55not just try to prevent
01:04:56the future,
01:04:57but treat if it happens
01:04:57now.
01:04:58Secretary?
01:04:58Yeah, I mean,
01:04:59we've had CDC teams
01:05:02on it from day one.
01:05:04I was speaking
01:05:05with the University of Nebraska
01:05:06since the second day
01:05:07of the outbreak.
01:05:08I was speaking
01:05:09with Governor Bill
01:05:10of Nebraska.
01:05:11We had a CDC team
01:05:13at Tenerife.
01:05:14We had airplanes ready
01:05:16to take the patients,
01:05:19the 17 patients,
01:05:20off the vessel
01:05:23and transport.
01:05:25Two of them
01:05:25went to Atlanta.
01:05:26One of those
01:05:27was symptomatic.
01:05:29They're in a
01:05:30biocontainment lab
01:05:31in Atlanta.
01:05:32The other 16
01:05:34are now in Nebraska.
01:05:37One of them
01:05:37is symptomatic.
01:05:38He is in the
01:05:39biocontainment lab.
01:05:40The other ones
01:05:41are being tested
01:05:42and supervised
01:05:43and given plants
01:05:44are going home.
01:05:46We have this
01:05:47under control
01:05:48and we're not
01:05:49worried about it.
01:05:50But the CDC
01:05:50took four days
01:05:51after the WHO
01:05:54issued its,
01:05:55you know,
01:05:56alert.
01:05:56Why was it?
01:05:57Why did it take
01:05:59the U.S.
01:05:59four days
01:06:00to issue an alert?
01:06:02It's not true.
01:06:03As soon as we
01:06:04determined that
01:06:05the virus was out
01:06:06there,
01:06:06we issued an alert.
01:06:08The alert means nothing.
01:06:09They acted very quickly.
01:06:10I saw the alert.
01:06:11Give me a point.
01:06:13They acted very,
01:06:14very quickly
01:06:14and it looks like
01:06:16and, you know,
01:06:18can't bet
01:06:18anybody's life on it
01:06:20but it looks like
01:06:20it's just a disease
01:06:21that we've had
01:06:23around in a very
01:06:24small way
01:06:25for a long time.
01:06:26Not a good one
01:06:26to catch
01:06:27because, you know,
01:06:27it's a very severe
01:06:28disease if you catch it
01:06:30but it's very hard
01:06:30to catch.
01:06:31Daniel,
01:06:31do you have a question?
01:06:32One last one,
01:06:33Senator Burt mentioned
01:06:33the website
01:06:34moms.gov,
01:06:35one of the policies
01:06:36that's on there
01:06:36are the Trump accounts,
01:06:38right?
01:06:38They're getting ready
01:06:38to go live this summer.
01:06:40When you speak
01:06:40to young parents,
01:06:41this is one of the policies
01:06:42they repeatedly bring up
01:06:43about how impactful
01:06:44it will be for them.
01:06:45Can you just talk
01:06:46about why Americans
01:06:47need to know about this
01:06:48and how important
01:06:49it is for younger parents
01:06:50to give their kids
01:06:51a head story?
01:06:52We've done more
01:06:52for young parents,
01:06:53I guess it's a way
01:06:54you could say it.
01:06:55It's a great,
01:06:55beautiful term.
01:06:56But we've done more
01:06:57for young parents
01:06:58than any administration
01:06:59ever in history
01:07:01and we're going
01:07:02to continue to do so.
01:07:04This is,
01:07:04look at the people
01:07:05up here,
01:07:05they're all like,
01:07:07brilliant.
01:07:08I'm one of the young ones,
01:07:09you know,
01:07:10I'm a similar age
01:07:12to all of you.
01:07:14I feel the same
01:07:15as them.
01:07:16I actually feel,
01:07:17you know,
01:07:18I don't know
01:07:18what this is.
01:07:19I feel the same
01:07:20as I did 50 years ago.
01:07:22It's crazy.
01:07:24Someday there'll be
01:07:25a day when
01:07:26that won't happen.
01:07:27I'll let Bobby
01:07:28and Oz know,
01:07:29you know.
01:07:29It's not quite the same.
01:07:31But I feel literally
01:07:32the same.
01:07:32I don't know why.
01:07:34It's not because
01:07:35I eat the best foods.
01:07:36Maybe they are
01:07:37the best foods.
01:07:37Who knows
01:07:37what the best foods are?
01:07:39Maybe junk food is good
01:07:41and the other food
01:07:41is no good.
01:07:42I know people
01:07:43that eat the best food.
01:07:45They go to a restaurant,
01:07:46they have celery
01:07:47and I don't want it.
01:07:48And I'll have steak
01:07:49and everything else.
01:07:50And I say,
01:07:52how are you doing?
01:07:53Well,
01:07:54it's over for me.
01:07:56At a young age.
01:07:57And all they do
01:07:58is watch it.
01:07:59I know many,
01:07:59many people
01:08:00that all they do
01:08:01is watch their weight,
01:08:02their this,
01:08:03their that.
01:08:05And they kicked the bucket
01:08:06and here we are.
