00:00Here's what's real. What's real is it is now the Bulls are now playing chess.
00:04They are not grandmasters. They are not wizards at it because it is being built out.
00:10But you're going to see a department that is just strategy.
00:15You're going to see a department that is just analytics and not just one guy or two guys that if
00:20they defy AK,
00:21they're told to shut up or they're eventually fired like Steve Wyman was.
00:26You're going to see a department that just deals with possible what's going on with media.
00:33I mean, so, you know, you're going to have these different departments built.
00:37And that's why it might not be what we're used to. It might not be.
00:40For years, we were just the two man show. It was John Pax and Gar Foreman.
00:45That's how those guys wanted it. There's a misconception.
00:48And I love Nick Friedle, but Nick Friedle is completely wrong in this, that the Bulls don't spend money on
00:53the front office.
00:53No, the front office didn't want money spent on itself.
00:56And then when AK got there, he built that thing out compared to what it was,
01:01but it still wasn't keeping up to the rest of the NBA.
01:04Michael has never said no to Gar Pax or to AK and Mark Eversley.
01:11Whoever they wanted, whatever they wanted, whatever department they wanted to build out,
01:14they could have built out.
01:16The problem was they never caught up because Gar Pax wanted to be a two man show.
01:20They were old school and it worked for years to their credit.
01:22The talent they were drafting, looking back on it, was pretty magnificent for a two man show.
01:28So, you know, AK came in and goes, oh my God, there's nobody around.
01:32So we'll build a player development.
01:34So he thought he built it up enough, but it wasn't keeping up with the modern NBA front offices still.
01:40That is a fact.
01:41Bryson Graham is going to keep up.
