00:00I think the voters will respond in November favorably, and I don't always believe all these
00:04polls, because if I did, President Trump wouldn't be elected right now and enjoying his time in the
00:09White House. I look at those numbers breaking down just a little bit here. More Republicans,
00:1418 percent, now disapprove of President Trump's overall job performance than in March. And again,
00:18going through these data, you can kind of see that drift upward in a number of these categories.
00:23Is it at all worrisome to you? Is it incumbent on President Trump to do more to kind of bring
00:27those numbers back down? No. One of the numbers that I look at in polling is we're actually doing
00:31better when it comes to generic congressional candidates. And listen, we have a plan in place.
00:37We have the right candidates. We have the financial superiority. We have the presidents willing to go
00:41out there and barnstorm the country. And we're going to win by embracing the president, embracing
00:46this administration, and making sure their candidates are in lockstep with the mission
00:50that he's trying to push forward. So that's what you're telling your candidates, not to run away
00:55from the president, but to run towards him, even at a time when I know you don't like the polls,
00:59but the numbers are not necessarily reflective of an American public that's fully behind all this
01:05president's policies. This president's been going to bat for the average American worker since day one.
01:11Look at the big, beautiful bill, the no tax on tips, overtime, Social Security. 45 percent of the people
01:17who have already filed their tax returns have experienced some type of benefit. You know,
01:24people try to go out there and achieve the American dream. I think it will resonate with
01:28the American people. And that's why, yes, 100 percent, our candidates need to embrace the
01:32president, embrace his agenda. And if they do that, we're going to be successful in November for sure.
01:38I mean, traditionally, the economy is one place where Republicans have done really well.
01:42But the numbers here are not quite as strong. 61 percent disapprove of how the president's handling
01:47the economy. That's up slightly 58 percent from March. Among Republicans, even in your own party,
01:52it's 23 percent. That's up from 17 percent in March. I'm wondering if you think the president
01:56is focusing enough on the economy, especially ahead of an election where this is what everyone
02:01is talking about. I'm from Colorado. Everyone back home is talking about affordability,
02:05paying for gas and getting food on the table for their kids.
02:10Affordability will be the number one issue in November. But people, how soon people forget that
02:14under Biden inflation, we had the highest gas prices ever. We had the highest inflation ever at 9 percent.
02:19The president, when he took office, he immediately got that under control. And yes,
02:23we're experiencing a temporary issue with the conflict in Iran. But I always tell people this
02:29is short-term pain for long-term gain. The president understands and feels and has empathy for the
02:34people out there. He wants everybody to go out there and be able to live their life and, like I
02:39said,
02:39achieve the American dream. But like I said, for 47 years, American presidents denied and ignored
02:48what was happening in Iran and delivered pallets of cash. This president actually stood up and said,
02:54we're going to take care of this. And listen, high political risk, low political reward. But he did
03:01it because he knew it was the right thing to do. And I think by November, we're going to be
03:05back.
03:06I talked to Secretary Besant. We're going to be cranking. The president's fully committed to doing
03:11whatever we can to move things along. And I expect things to happen.
03:15So you say affordability is the main issue here, but you opened the door to us talking about the
03:18war, which, of course, is front and center right now. Mentioned gas prices as well. So
03:22eight out of 10 Americans say higher gas prices are a strain on their finances.
03:28I'm curious, sir, what your message is to those Americans who you're asking for patience from.
03:32What's your message to them who are worried about being able to fill up their tank,
03:36worried about the consequences of this war perhaps dragging on?
03:39Well, like I said, short-term pain for long-term gain. America will be a thousand times better
03:44off without a nuclear weaponized Iran. And this president's doing what should have been done a
03:50long time ago. I'm thankful for him and his administration and the leadership that he's
03:56showing to do the right thing. It's not always what's politically easy to do, but it's doing the
04:02right thing to make sure that he's putting all Americans and making sure that we're safer,
04:05not only here at home, but abroad. But short-term pain for long-term gain, I mean,
04:10that's a nice thing to ask people to do and give you the benefit of the doubt.
04:14But if you're really struggling, if you're paycheck to paycheck, you don't have months
04:17and months to be under this kind of financial duress. And I wonder if you think Republicans
04:21have enough running room. November is not that far away. This is not something you can just turn
04:26the switch back on. Do you really think that this is going to get resolved and prices are going to
04:30go
04:30down before voters go to the poll and have to make a decision whether to give this party
04:33another chance? I do. I always have thought this conflict was temporary. I know the president's
04:39working on it. I know right now the conflict has ceased and they're trying to do everything they
04:44can to bring gases prices back down. But don't forget, under Biden, it was more and there was
04:49no conflict. So the fact that where we're at today, although it's painful, it is temporary and
04:56the president's totally committed and focused to making sure we get prices back down to where they
05:00need to be. Let's talk a bit about redistricting. So there are these elections in Indiana this week
05:04and candidates the president backed defeated other Republicans in the state of Indiana.
05:09I'm curious what that says to you. Yes, about the electorate, about your approach to the job
05:13and the influence that the president has and kind of determining who should be congressional
05:16candidates in this election. Well, listen, the president is the leader of our party. I always say
05:21if you get an endorsement from the president, it's like a fast pass at Disney World. You go right to
05:26the front
05:26of the line. You're going to win. And what happened in Indiana, you've got to remember the voters of the
05:31country gave the president Trump a mandate with not only the winning every single swing state, but also
05:38the national popular vote. And the Indiana legislators thought that they were, they knew more than the
05:44president. They didn't step up when they needed. And obviously they faced the consequences of their
05:48actions. This president runs the party. Everybody is united within the team supporting President Donald
05:54J. Trump because we believe in what he's trying to do in terms of move America forward. And I think
06:00that as a result, we'll all be much better off as a party. I'm wondering if you think the loyalty
06:06to President Trump is potentially hurting the party's longevity because this is a president who
06:12legally cannot run a third term. Will the party know its identity? Who are you without President Trump?
06:19And should candidates and individuals like yourself be working more to define that?
06:24Well, we have such a deep bench within the Republican Party and we have so many issues we
06:28could run on where the left, they just keep on running further and further to the left away from
06:32the mainstream. And as a matter of fact, the Democrat Party, they have no issues because they used to be
06:38the party of the working man. And for, you know, not only them, but for 50 years, Washington elitists
06:43have abandoned them. And it was this president that when he was elected went to bat for them. And so
06:49as a result, they have no issues other than the fact they hate the president. I call it not only
06:53Trump derangement syndrome, I call it American derangement syndrome. It looks like the left is
06:57always rooting against our country with everything that we're doing, whether economically, foreign
07:02policy, and their candidates are becoming more and more radical. And they have no bench. They have
07:08these left-wing lunatics that are winning these primaries. And as a result, it gives us an
07:14opening to be in the mainstream of where people want to be. And I'm expecting big things from our
07:20candidates in November. And I think we'll have a chance to defy history. Only four times in the
07:24last 150 years has the incumbent party been able to win that, the midterms. And I think that we have
07:29a great chance of doing that this November. Let's talk about how you're going to deploy money going
07:33into the midterms. So you have a sizable financial advantage over the Democratic Party here going into
07:37those midterms. How are you going to deploy that money to kind of meet that objective that you
07:41described, bucking history and having that Republicans hold on to their majorities?
07:45Well, you've got to look at the maps that we have. And on the Senate side, we have great candidates
07:50like Rogers in Michigan, Sununu in New Hampshire, Wally in North Carolina. Senate, I think we're going
07:56to pick up seats. And the House, with all the gerrymandering that's occurred and all the redistricting
08:01across the country, you're looking at really there's only 35 competitive races in the entire country.
08:06With the financial resources that we have, we're sitting on 120 million at the RNC. I think the
08:13DNC is sitting at minus 4 million, according to the last reports. And when you combine the fact
08:18that we're going to have coordinated campaign limits change at the Supreme Court level that
08:23will expand that number, it's going to be lights out for the Democrats. We are going to do everything
08:28we can to make sure we win these races. When the president asked me to serve as the chairman of
08:32the
08:32National Party, he said you have one goal and that's one of the midterms. We've been laser focused on
08:37that. We have a plan. We're executing that plan. As a matter of fact, we hired our first 17 state
08:43directors and deployed them a couple of weeks ago. That's our first wave. And we will be on the ground
08:48preparing for our get out the vote activities and making sure that we have election integrity
08:53teams on the ground to make sure these elections are safe and secure. But we have the resources we need.
08:59We have the messaging that we need. And we have the president who has obviously already proven that
09:05he could turn out low propensity voters three times. And yes, we're going to be working with
09:12him as he barnstorms the country in these districts that matter, when it matters. And of course,
09:17we're going to have things like the midterm convention, which has never happened before.
09:21Tell us about that. Trumpapalooza. We've seen the term. We've heard you talk about it. What's it
09:26going to be? Tell us a bit about that. I would revisit my question about Trump and the identity
09:29of the Republican Party here, but we're running out of time. So go ahead and ask the answer about
09:33Trumpapalooza. Well, Trumpapalooza is going to be amazing. It's our way to highlight all the amazing
09:39things the president has done with real life examples, with some of our great candidates,
09:43with some of our great elected officials. And we're going to use that and catapult the president
09:48as he goes and barnstorms the country. That will be the kickoff. And we're going to run and he's
09:54going to campaign because we know what happens if the Democrats somehow win the House or the
09:59Senate. They're going to investigate. They're going to obstruct. They're going to impeach. They already
10:03said what they were going to do. We have to make sure we come together and give the president a
10:07full
10:07four years. Keep this momentum going. He's the best president we've ever had. And we've got to do
10:11everything we can to support him and his administration. When and where do we expect
10:15Trumpapalooza to take place? I would expect somewhere. We are still finalizing finalizing
10:21those details. But I would say late summer right before early voting starts.
