00:18What was your assessment of that one Michael?
00:21That was a tough game, it was a tough game. Credit to Sunderland, we knew it was going
00:26to be a tough game coming here anyway. I dig deep at times, it wasn't our best but actually
00:34to take something from the game when you're not at your best is a good trade that we're
00:39trying to build as well. There's obviously changes and sometimes you're trying to find
00:44that rhythm a little bit which is understandable. I still quite liked a lot of the things to
00:51give us the foundation to then be able to play better at certain times but to take a point
00:56in a clean sheet for what it is, I think it's OK.
01:01Michael, how does it think of the service that you've performed since December?
01:06To be honest, for all the boys I thought it was just a tough game. It was an away game
01:12coming here which is challenging. I thought there were certain times when Josh linked the
01:19play really well and certain times when we probably left him a little bit isolated at
01:23times and that's how it goes. I think he played a real part for the team and I understand
01:30it's not always easy for any player when you haven't played for a little bit to come into
01:35a game so certainly not just judging any individual on just one performance today anyway.
01:41Ty?
01:41Hi Michael, that felt maybe like something next season's going to look like and there's going
01:45to be a lot more games and they're going to have to do a lot more rotation. Did it feel
01:48like a sign that maybe you're going to need more depth this summer or more options when
01:52you do pick up those little injuries?
01:56It's one game as well and I think to overanalyse it in terms of then moving forward next season
02:01judging the squad and judging everything on one game it's certainly not what I'll do
02:06or what you'll do as a club anyway. I think we know the quality of the players, we know
02:10what the squad looks like and the strengths and things that we need to improve on so certainly
02:16one game today doesn't change our minds in any of that.
02:20Kyle?
02:20Good afternoon, Sky.
02:22Normally at this point in the season there's an accusation that certain teams are on the
02:25beach. Do you feel a need to guard against any complacency in your team?
02:31No, I almost get offended by that when people are accusing that because the way the players
02:38have prepared the game, the way they left the changing room, we faced a tough game, it's
02:42fine. I think if we weren't in a good headspace and motivated I think we'd lose the game today.
02:49Sonnen played really well at certain points of the game and made us work for it so I think
02:56the fact that our pride in ourselves and each other and the responsibility of playing for
03:02this great club and being part of it, certainly motivation and focus is not the reason whether
03:07we're going to be brilliant or maybe you're going to have a performance where it comes a little
03:12bit more challenging. Whether it's today or the next two games, that won't be the case
03:15whether that's affected at all.
03:17Can you ask about the injury status with Casemiro and Cescic as well?
03:20Just to see the boys, Casemiro will be fine, it's not a major issue, he'll be fine next
03:25week. Ben will just have to say he's been carrying a shin problem for a little bit of
03:29time now so we've just got to manage that and see what's best for him.
03:34Casemiro, people have spoken a lot about him, he's leaving at the end of the season, is this
03:40a chance for you to assess what you have and what those players can give you in that position?
03:48Because clearly it's a crucial part of the pitch and we expect that's where the club's
03:53going to be working in the slot.
03:56Yeah, I'm not just totally on one game or two games, I don't fit in the whole
04:00assessment of the direction of where we need to go, we'll be judged on that. I think
04:05over time you get a clear picture of what it looks like, some positives, some negatives,
04:09what we need to improve on. So certainly today or next week and the week after, that's not
04:15going to be a total decisive factor in making decisions. I think it needs a bit more layered
04:21in foundations to make decisions than just one or two games.
04:28Michael, you've recently been speaking about red cards and final contact, obviously
04:32with Lissandro Martinez as one. Were you surprised there wasn't a red card at the end of today's
04:35game?
04:37To be honest, I genuinely haven't seen it on TV. Bruno said there was contact and he wasn't
04:44too happy about it when he came in. The staff on the bench weren't too happy with it as
04:50well, so I don't know, getting a little bit confused with what's going on really, so I'm
04:56better off staying out of it.
04:58Nice one there.
04:59Mr Carrick, you've come up to the North East twice over the year tenure and it seems like
05:06the United team has struggled quite a little bit. Do you feel like it's the atmosphere that
05:11North East fans you're familiar with generates that means that the United players struggle
05:16when they come up here?
05:18I don't think we've struggled. I think the boys are used to playing in all sorts of different
05:22atmospheres. I think it's just two separate occasions, two good teams, different games,
05:30you know, it's part of it. I think we've played away with other games and won and had good
05:35results in different types of atmospheres, so I mean you just take each game separately really.
05:43Alright guys, cheers, thanks.
