00:02Ready, set, climb. Some 5,000 runners from over 30 countries joined the 2026 Taipei 101
00:10run-up on Saturday.
00:28The race is one of Taiwan's most famous and is held in its tallest building. Every year,
00:35athletes from around the world sign up to run, walk or crawl up the tower.
00:39And this year, participants tackled 88 floors.
00:43So even for experienced runners, climbing up here is brutal. Many of them collapsed in exhaustion
00:49after passing through that door, which is also the finish line.
00:52Compared to other tower runs, this event is considered especially challenging.
00:57Oh, I'm very happy today to join the Taipei 101.
01:01Because the Taipei 101 is a very famous place, because the floor is higher than the international
01:05race. The floor is higher. And when I went to the end, I felt very累.
01:12Actually, I didn't have enough training to prepare.
01:19I was always trying to push myself to get the best. To give up is not the option.
01:27Six firefighters carrying around 30 kilograms of gear also scaled the tower.
01:32This is our防衣, our防衣, our防衣, and our equipment, and our clothes.
01:39And our clothes, and our clothes. And our防衣.
01:40And our防衣, this part, we haven't worn out. Because we just wanted to be more輕巧,
01:43just to be able to climb the stairs. It's very high. It's very
01:47high. Because we have to protect our energy.
02:10Even the chair of Taipei 101 worth seven kilograms of firefighter's gear to challenge herself,
02:17completing her run in 30 minutes and 20 seconds.
02:20The annual Climb Up event has once again pushed its participants to their limits,
02:25as they conquered one of the world's tallest buildings.
