00:00Never buy store-bought hummus again. Trust me, this homemade garlic hummus recipe is way more delicious, has no preservatives,
00:07is cheaper, and could not be easier to make.
00:10First, we're going to drain our chickpeas. This viscous bean water or aquafaba that the chickpeas were cooked and stored
00:16in will help make your hummus extra creamy.
00:18So we're going to drain our chickpeas and then reserve the aquafaba.
00:21Then to a food processor, add your drained chickpeas, one-fourth cup of that reserved aquafaba.
00:27Add tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, a clove of garlic, some cumin, chili powder, and salt.
00:33Puree until very smooth, about two to three minutes.
00:37If you want to add any extra spices or flavorings, you can, but I like classic hummus.
00:42You can have your hummus just like this, or you can top it with a little bit of extra virgin
00:45olive oil and some Maldon salt.
00:47Okay, now it's time to try it. Look at how delicious and creamy that is.
00:55Mmm. The first thing that hits me is the fresh lemon juice and the cumin, chili powder, and salt.
01:00It adds so much flavor.
01:02And then the chickpeas themselves, with the tahini and the olive oil, they add a protein-packed creaminess that is
01:07just so delicious.
01:09Why would you ever go store-bought again?
01:10Delicious.
01:14Mmm.
01:14Mm-hmm.
