00:22So we've brought Henry Moore to Kew Gardens because it feels like a really natural synergy.
00:26Henry Moore was always inspired by the natural world, he would often pick up pebbles when
00:31he was walking along the beach or stones from his stew pot and having these monumental
00:35sculptures here at Kew in our 320 acres of World UNESCO heritage site is a really exciting
00:41opportunity to have that sort of dialogue between art and nature.
01:05I think people connect with monumental sculptures like this one because they allow us to experience
01:11them in a way that is not the typical experience of sculpture that most of us have in mind.
01:17That idea that you see something on a plinth and it is sort of outside of our world.
01:23With a piece like this you can actually walk through it, you can experience it in a very
01:29physical way and from the middle looking out which is one of the ways in which Moore encouraged
01:34us to experience this work.
01:36the way that is.
01:48You
