00:00Morning to you Rebecca. Hi. How's things looking in Salford overnight? It's bad. It's a really
00:06soul-destroying night. We've lost a large number of really good Labour councillors
00:11and candidates and it's quite clear that we've been squeezed both from reform and the Greens.
00:18I mean we're feeling that on the doorstep in Salford that despite them loving you know our
00:23local councillors and thinking they were doing a fantastic job a lot of residents just felt that
00:28they couldn't vote for the Labour Party this time because of what we'd been doing nationally.
00:32This is a sad thing there's fantastic policies that we have been rolling out like the whole package on
00:36workers rights for example and because of the really daft mistakes that have been made at the
00:41top on a whole range of policies they've overshadowed everything all of the scandals you know in relation
00:46to Peter Mandelson overshadowed the good work that's been done. Kia I'd say he's completely out of touch
00:52at the moment and he needs to assess what's happening on the ground now and realise that
00:56many of the slogans the rhetoric the decisions that have been made in recent months they have not
01:02landed well in our community.
