00:00 On behalf of the Labour Party, I'd like to wish you all a happy new year.

00:05 I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

00:08 2023 has been a year of pride and achievement for the Lionesses,

00:13 yet again so close to doing an unprecedented double.

00:17 And of course, a year when our country stepped into a new era,

00:22 with a new King, King Charles III, crowned in the spring.

00:26 It has also been another tough year economically for millions of people.

00:32 And, beyond our shores, a time of great insecurity,

00:37 with war still raging in Ukraine and enormous suffering in Israel and Gaza.

00:44 The Labour Party will do everything we can in 2024

00:48 to push for a political solution to that conflict.

00:52 A secure Israel alongside a viable Palestinian state.

00:58 A hope that may be fragile, but that must be kept alive.

01:04 Because there is always power in that word hope.

01:08 It is the fuel of change, the oxygen of a better future.

01:12 And this year, in Britain, the power to shape the future of our country will rest in your hands.

01:20 In the Labour Party, we have been building to this for four years.

01:25 We are confident we have a plan that can move our country forward.

01:30 End the cost of living crisis.

01:32 Take back our streets.

01:34 Get the NHS back on its feet.

01:36 Cheaper energy bills for your home.

01:39 More opportunities for your children.

01:42 But most of all, I am ready to renew our politics,

01:46 so it once again serves our country.

01:50 I know that politics isn't held in particularly high regard in Britain,

01:54 but I have spent four years bringing the Labour Party back to service.

01:59 And in 2024, we can do the same for politics.

02:04 So wherever you are, however you are celebrating,

02:08 Happy New Year.

02:11 Let's make sure this is the year where together we get Britain's future back.
