00:00I'm full of a coin.
00:04Are you all right?
00:07It's me home.
00:09He's lived here for more than 30 years but yesterday he got the call he had been dreading.
00:14The company that owned the land, his caravan and boat were kept on had torn it all down.
00:19Bob Thwaites is 79 and has stayed at Broadness Cruising Club on the Swanskin Peninsula since the 90s
00:25and during that time he's had rows with land logical about access to the site.
00:30We tried to speak to him but we weren't allowed into the club so we interviewed him through the fence.
00:36Everything had gone. My home, everything. All my medicines, all my memorabilia.
00:4335 years of, you know, if you can imagine someone doing that to your home.
00:49My home is no different than anybody else's. It was a home.
00:53Two wardrobes full of clothes. Just everything. All my tools that I can't find. Half my tools.
01:00I haven't got the key to my car. That's all gone.
01:04I can remember being here back in September of last year behind that fence
01:09and then what I saw was a community that had taken decades to build
01:12and now overnight it's been torn down.
01:16I can remember being invited into Bob's home. I stroked his cat. I think he made me a cup of
01:21tea.
01:21Now that home is nothing more than debris.
01:24Yeah, so Landlogic has decided to bulldoze my grandad's home of 30 odd years.
01:32And we're down here to help him try and salvage what we can for his wellbeing.
01:40Broadness Cruising Club say they've paid their fee to the Port of London Authority
01:43that allows them to remain on the site. For them it's been a long fight with Landlogical
01:48over the deadline they needed to remove their boats by.
01:50They give us a bit of time. They give us a month and then they give us another month
01:54which we started moving bits and pieces and taking bits down.
01:59And then the next thing, there's no access at all.
02:03And then they put this fence up. So we couldn't get nothing out if we wanted to.
02:08Landlogical CEO Mr Katz said that Bob was squatting.
02:12There was no occupational right there or any form of residency on the land.
02:16He added, we have done it the right way.
02:18Clearing is ongoing now until it is completely clear.
02:21Once it is finished I'm going to present them with a bill and that is going to be substantial.
02:26He added he plans to work with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation for a social use of the peninsula.
02:31But Bob's family said they didn't know what would happen next.
02:35With him having no home to return to, he's left picking up the pieces of the last 35 years.
