00:17Welcome to Ridiculous, the ridiculously clever show where three teams of riddle solvers take
00:24on our devious riddle master. Hello Henry. Hello Randy. Now how are you today?
00:29I'm very well thank you. I've got some exceptionally good riddles today. I'm very excited. Have you? Yeah I have.
00:34Do you want to test one out on us? I'm going to test one out on you. Which trousers sound
00:38as though they've been passed down through your family for generations? Something to do with an heirloom? Bloomers? I don't
00:45know. Heirloom? No no not air bloomers no. Okay I'm going to have a think about it. Okay it'll come
00:52to me. It will. But first let's meet today's teams. Who's with us today?
00:57Hi I'm Gareth and this is my friend Chris and we're from South Wales. Hi I'm Sally and this is
01:02my husband Les and we're from Norfolk. Hi I'm Annika and this is my colleague Robert and we're from Guildford.
01:08Super to have you with us this afternoon. Raring to go I think. Well almost raring to go. Bit nervous.
01:15This is the way you like them. A little bit nervous at the beginning.
01:17Everyone on their toes for the minute one. Now listen what was that riddle that you just posed? The riddle
01:23was which trousers sound as though they've been passed down through your family for generations?
01:28Yeah listen they're all nodding now. They're all nodding. Go on then. All together. Jeans. Jeans. Very good. Jeans is
01:35the right answer. Very very good. This is good. This bodes well. Three very very strong teams.
01:38Indeed it is. So welcome to all of you. Great to have you with us. Let me explain how this
01:43is going to work. You're going to face a series of riddles from Henry.
01:48And in order to unlock each riddle you'll first have to correctly answer three general knowledge questions. Now in this
01:56first round the questions are worth £25. Henry how much are your riddles worth?
02:02In the first round the riddles are worth £100 each. And they're the easiest you're going to face throughout the
02:07whole game. So you don't want to be getting these ones wrong.
02:10But we will be saying goodbye to one team at the end of this round. So beware because every single
02:17question is important.
02:19Okay are you ready for some general knowledge? Yeah. Let's play.
02:26What three word phrase does the abbreviation VIP commonly stand for? Gareth and Chris?
02:32Very important person. Correct.

03:02Sally and Les? 50.
03:04Correct.
03:06What is the name of the punctuation mark used in German consisting of two dots over a vowel?
03:13Annika and Robert?
03:14Ullat. Correct.
03:16Correct.
03:18What type of accessory is produced by the brands Swatch and Timex?
03:23Gareth and Chris?
03:24Watch.
03:25Indeed it is.
03:26Very good stuff.
03:26Right, you've made quick work of that opening round there.
03:29You're already about to face the riddle master, but let's find out a bit more about you.
03:33Gareth and Chris, you're friends?
03:35Yes, yes.
03:35How did you meet?
03:37I met through the comedy circuit, so both stand-up comedians.
03:39I was running in a night and Chris turned up late.
03:42I see.
03:43Yeah.
03:44I wanted more gigs, so I've stayed friends with him.
03:46Oh, I see.
03:47Yeah.
03:47Now, let me remind you, before you go into this opening riddle, that you do have a clue
03:52from Henry that you can use at any point during the game, but you only get one.
03:57Henry, over to you.
03:58Thanks, Ranvier.
03:59Here we go.
03:59First riddle of the game.
04:01I'm a way to show off about reconstructed boats.
04:05What am I?
04:06Boats.
04:06What do you do when you reconstruct a boat?
04:08Rebuild the boat.
04:08You rebuild the boat.
04:09Yeah, you do rebuild the boat.
04:11I'm a way to show off about...
04:14I'm just thinking boaty words to keel.
04:19I'm just thinking, yeah, hull, starboard.
04:22I'm just doing buzzwords for boats.
04:24I'm a way to show off.
04:26I literally only know Boaty, but Boaty face.
04:29I'm not clear.
04:30It's embarrassing.
04:31Yeah, it is.
04:31Yeah.
04:32I'm a way to show off about reconstructed boats.
04:37What's the word that did with the word for show off?
04:39Showboat?
04:39Showboat.
04:40Yeah.
04:41Way to show off about reconstructed boat.
04:43It's the best I've got.
04:44Yeah.
04:44Showboat?
04:45Yeah.
04:46Showboat?
04:47Are you locking it in?
04:48Yes.
04:48Let's lock that.
04:49OK.
04:49Well, from two comedians, showboat.
04:53Showboat.
04:57I'm afraid it's wrong.
05:00Now, you can't steal in this round, but do either of the other two teams have an idea?
05:03It's boast.
05:04It's reconstructed.
05:05Yeah.
05:05Boast.
05:06Yes.
05:07Of course, yeah, yeah.
05:08Remember, in the riddle, things aren't necessarily what they seem.
05:12Reconstructed, of course, refers to reorganising the letters of a word, as you guys correctly
05:16worked out.
05:17So the correct answer is boast.
05:19Yeah.
05:19Never mind, teams.
05:20No money won there.
05:21Hands by the buzzers.
05:22More questions coming your way.
05:24Here we go.
05:24In the film, Eight Mile, which rapper plays Jimmy B. Rabbit Smith?
05:31Gareth and Chris.
05:32Eminem.
05:33Yes.
05:35Which magazine was co-founded by John Byrd in 1991 for homeless people to sell it a profit?
05:42Gareth and Chris.
05:43Big issue.
05:44Yes, it was, of course.
05:45OK, once again, Gareth and Chris, you're pretty speedy on the general knowledge.
05:49You are just one correct answer away from unlocking the second riddle here.
05:54Which city in the United Kingdom is nicknamed Old Reekie?
05:59Gareth and Chris.
06:01Edinburgh.
06:01Yes.
06:03OK, well, better luck with this riddle.
06:06Don't get it wrong.
06:08If you act like you didn't hear my cue for action, I'll tell you where to go.
06:12Who am I?
06:13If you act like you didn't hear my cue or cue, pull cue, if you act like you didn't hear
06:19my cue for action, I'll tell you.
06:21Director, maybe?
06:23Cue, yes, it could be cue as in like a...
06:25Yeah.
06:26When you snap the cue, what do you say?
06:27You say action.
06:28Action.
06:28Action's already there.
06:29Yeah.
06:30Director, if you...
06:31There's no direction.
06:32There's no direction.
06:32There's no point in.
06:33Yeah.
06:33So if you miss my cue, I'm going to direct you where to go.
06:34Or direction.
06:35Direction.
06:36If you act like you didn't hear my cue for action, I'll tell you where to go.
06:40Who am I?
06:41Director.
06:41Director.
06:42You're happy with that?
06:43Yeah.
06:43Director.
06:44You're lucky in director.
06:46Yes.
06:47Are you feeling more or less confident than you did about Showboat?
06:50About 60%.
06:5160% more or 60% less?
06:5660% might be right.
06:59Probably wrong.
07:01Okay.
07:04It's the right answer.
07:06It's right, yeah.
07:06You would call action in a film.
07:08A director would call action if you act like you didn't hear.
07:10You know, of course, actors on a film.
07:12Directors would direct actors.
07:14I'll tell you where to go.
07:14Of course, it's giving direction.
07:16Yes.
07:16It is with delight that I can give you £100 into your prize pot.
07:19Oh, thank you.
07:20So we are two riddles down, two to go.
07:23Let's keep playing.
07:23Which British fashion designer became known for skull print scarves and low-slung jeans, Annika and Robert?
07:32Alexander McQueen.
07:33Correct.
07:34Well done.
07:34And just to complete the question, the low-slung jeans were called Bomsters.
07:38In the 1990s, which band released the top ten hits Cosmic Girl and Virtual Insanity?
07:46Gareth and Chris.
07:47Jamiroquai.
07:47Yes.
07:49Which breed of cat is notable for having no...
07:53Gareth and Chris.
07:55Manx.
07:56No or only a rudimentary tail.
08:00It is Manx.
08:01Oh!
08:02Yes!
08:03Very good.
08:04I like doing what you get to tease them when you know the answer.
08:08I don't get to do that very often.
08:09That was A-grade teasing.
08:10It's fun, isn't it?
08:11I like it.
08:12OK, right, Gareth and Chris, here we go.
08:14You are just one correct answer away from unlocking your third riddle.
08:19In 2024, which former Top Gear presenter opened his own pub?
08:25Gareth and Chris.
08:26Jeremy Clarkson.
08:26Yes, opened his own pub, The Farmer's Dog, in Oxfordshire.
08:30Right, well, you've got one riddle under your belt.
08:33Can you do it again?
08:35Henry.
08:36Mm, here it comes.
08:38I'm a jumper that doesn't hop or skip.
08:40I'm a sweater that doesn't perspire.
08:42I'm something you might have to do if you need to change a tyre.
08:46What am I?
08:47I'm a jumper that doesn't hop or skip.
08:49Um, something.
08:50Other name for a jumper.
08:51No, that's a sweater.
08:51Pull over.
08:52If you've got a flat tyre, you need to pull over.
08:54Doesn't perspire.
08:55It's something you might need to have to do.
08:56Yeah.
08:56If you need to change a tyre.
08:57That sounds like a pull over.
08:59Don't think it's crash, so it's definitely...
09:01It's definitely a word, isn't it?
09:02Yeah.
09:03Um, OK, yeah, let's go with...
09:05Pull over.
09:05Yeah?
09:06Yeah, pull over, please.
09:07Pull over.
09:08Yeah.
09:10It's the right arm.
09:11Yes, well done, Chris.
09:12Another £100 into the prize pot for Gareth and Chris.
09:16So we have one more riddle left.
09:18Good luck.
09:19What toy appears before Runner in the title of the 2003 novel by the Afghani-American author?
09:28Sally and Les.
09:29Kite.
09:30Yeah, the Kite Runner.
09:31Beautiful book.
09:32The author was Khaled Hosseini.
09:35£25 to Sally and Les.
09:37In baseball, a batter is declared out after how many strikes?
09:41Annika and Robert.
09:42Three.
09:42Yes.
09:43We have an American amongst us, don't we?
09:45Let's just be clear about this.
09:46I don't play sports, though.
09:47You don't play sports, but you knew it.
09:50In which Asian country are the cities Kobe, Sapporo, Annika and Robert?
09:55South Korea.
09:57Incorrect.
09:57In which Asian country are the cities Kobe, Sapporo and Yokohama?
10:02Sally and Les.
10:03Japan.
10:04Correct.
10:05Right, Sally and Les, for the first time in the game, you are one correct answer away
10:09from unlocking the fourth and final riddle in this opening round.
10:13The Middle Eastern dip, hummus, is primarily made with tahini and which pureed legume?
10:21Sally and Les.
10:22Chickpea.
10:23The answer is chickpea.
10:25There you go.
10:26Yes, well done.
10:27Have a moment of relief and release of all the tension.
10:32You're married?
10:33Yes.
10:34How did you meet?
10:35Blind date.
10:36A blind date?
10:37Wow.
10:38He proposed after three weeks.
10:40Pardon?
10:40He thought two weeks was too soon.
10:43Oh, that's really lovely, actually.
10:45That is lovely.
10:46And what do you like doing together?
10:47What are your plans?
10:48Are you, like, relaxing?
10:50Yeah.
10:50He likes relaxing.
10:51A lot.
10:52Holidays.
10:53I like to go on holiday.
10:54I mean, if you got to the end of this game, a lovely trip might be on the cards.
10:57Yeah.
10:58But you've got to get past the riddle master.
11:00Yeah, well, I mean, you did very well on the boast one.
11:02Let's see if you can do as well on this one and earn some money.
11:03Here we go.
11:04I've got two eyes but no face.
11:06You might consider me a right state.
11:08Ha!
11:09Why?
11:10Where am I?
11:11Where am I?
11:13Iowa.
11:13Does it mean Iowa or does it mean in the United States?
11:17It's not Iowa.
11:18That's only got one eye.
11:19Well, where's the other eye, then?
11:21Ohio.
11:22What?
11:23Ohio.
11:24Oh-hi-o.
11:26Yeah.
11:27I've got two eyes.
11:28Yeah, but where does that...
11:28Has it got two?
11:29Where does that ha come in?
11:32Ha.
11:33Ha.
11:34You might consider me a right state.
11:37Ha.
11:37It's one of those.
11:40Hawaii.
11:41Oh, yeah.
11:42Ha!
11:43Ha!
11:44Yeah!
11:45Yeah, right.
11:46Yeah.
11:46Ha.
11:47Hawaii.
11:47Double I.
11:48We're going to go...
11:50Hawaii.
11:50Hawaii.
11:52Okay.
11:52You got there.
11:53After a full tour of the US, you got to the right answer.
11:56Well done.
11:57Yeah, Hawaii is the right answer, of course.
11:59Yeah.
11:59Two eyes.
12:00Yeah, only one eye in Iowa and in Ohio, actually.
12:03But, yeah, two eyes in Hawaii.
12:06And you very quickly got that it was a US state, though.
12:07So, yeah, well done.
12:08Clever stuff.
12:09Okay.
12:09£100 to Sally and Les.
12:12And that was the final riddle, wasn't it, of that round?
12:14We whizzed through it.
12:15So, teams, at the end of that round, Gareth and Chris have £425.
12:19Sally and Les have £200.
12:21And Annika and Robert, you gave it a good go, but just not quite enough at the end.
12:25You ended up with £75.
12:27But tell us what you both do, because your colleagues wear.
12:30So, we work at an escape room.
12:32So, we literally run puzzles, design puzzles.
12:35And you're wearing one on your shirt?
12:37I am indeed wearing one on my shirt.
12:38I love it.
12:39Right, okay.
12:40Well, I'm sorry we didn't get to know you more.
12:42But thank you so much, Annika and Robert.
12:44And that's it for part one.
12:46How did you do at home?
12:47I hope you got some of the riddles.
12:48If you didn't, here's another one.
12:49How do you force an evil spirit out to keep it fit?
12:52I'll give you the answer when we come back.
13:04Welcome back.
13:05Now, before the break, Henry, you set us a rather ghoulish task.
13:10I certainly did, yeah.
13:11How do you force an evil spirit out to keep it fit?
13:15Any ideas from our teams?
13:16Oh, yes, Sally and Les, you're nodding.
13:18And everyone's nodding.
13:19Exercise.
13:20Exercise, yeah, absolutely.
13:21That's very good.
13:22Well done, yeah.
13:22Right, well then.
13:23You navigated your way through round one.
13:26Well done to both teams.
13:27Sally and Les, you have £200 in your prize pot.
13:30Gareth and Chris, you have £425.
13:33But really, that difference can change.
13:35In round two, the questions from me are now worth £50.
13:40And once again, you need three correct to unlock a riddle.
13:44And the riddles are quite different.
13:45They certainly are.
13:46And this round, you're going to be facing visual riddles.
13:48As you might expect, they contain pictures, also numbers, shapes and words.
13:51They're a little bit trickier.
13:53So if you get them right, they're worth £200 each.
13:55Also here, only one member of your team will be able to answer the riddle.
14:00And you'll have just 60 seconds to get it right.
14:04Also, if you get your riddle wrong, it will then be passed over to the opposing team, potentially for a
14:09steal.
14:09So there's a lot at stake here.
14:11Lots can change.
14:12But first, of course, you need to answer some more general knowledge questions.
14:16Hands by the buzzers.
14:17Good luck.
14:18Here we go.
14:20Which planet in the solar system shares its name with the original lead singer of the band Queen?
14:27Sally and Les.
14:28Mercury.
14:29Correct.
14:30OK, the first £50 of this round to Sally and Les.
14:33Which TV reality series regularly featured Vicky Patterson, Charlotte Crosby and Marnie Simpson?
14:51Sally and Les.
14:53Geordie Shaw.
14:54It is Geordie Shaw.
14:55Well done.
14:55And you're just one correct answer away from unlocking the first visual riddle.
15:00The National Museum for which heritage industry is at Cap House Colliery in Yorkshire?
15:07Sally and Les.
15:08Mining.
15:09I can accept that.
15:11Coal mining.
15:11The coal mining museum.
15:13Right.
15:14Well done, Sally and Les.
15:15So, you've kicked off round two with fire in your belly.
15:19I like it.
15:20You've got to decide who wants to take on this riddle, though.
15:22Aw.
15:23Sally.
15:23Hang on.
15:24Hang on a minute.
15:25We know you like to relax, Les.
15:29Actually, you're allowed to step back if you want, but do you want to have a look at the
15:32categories to make it look like you're being a gentleman?
15:34Shall we try?
15:35Yeah, let's do that.
15:36Shapes, words or numbers?
15:39It's up to you.
15:40You're going to do it.
15:41Words.
15:43Right.
15:44Was it his chivalry that attracted you to Les in the first place?
15:47Yes.
15:48Yes, exactly.
15:50All right, then, Les, off you go.
15:53Sally, I feel like you didn't have a choice there.
15:55No.
15:56Just to remind you that you could ask for a clue in this riddle.
16:00Because it's a timed round, we will stop the clock, Henry will read out the clue, and
16:03then we'll restart the clock so you get the full 60 seconds, OK?
16:06So, good luck.
16:07Here we go.
16:08Here we go, indeed.
16:09Sally, if you get this right, it'll put you in the lead for the first time in the game.
16:1360 seconds to give me a right answer after I finish reading the riddle that goes with
16:17this.
16:18You need to catch a plane to meet your spy contact.
16:21Where is the secret meeting going to be held?
16:23Your time starts now.
16:25I need to catch a plane.
16:32Um...
16:33For port.
16:42Oh, I'm going to need a clue.
16:45OK, stop the clock.
16:46Check your gate number to find your way.
16:49Stop the clock.
16:50To find your...
16:51Check your gate number to find your way.
16:56I need to catch a plane to meet your spy contact.
16:59Where is the secret meeting going to be held?
17:07You've got 20 seconds left.
17:10I'm going to have to guess.
17:13I think.
17:17You've got 10 seconds.
17:18Lock something in.
17:19I'm going to go for Porto.
17:22Porto.
17:24Porto.
17:25It's wrong, I'm afraid, Sally.
17:26OK, no more time for Gareth and Chris.
17:28There is a steal available.
17:29What's your answer?
17:31Marrakesh.
17:33Marrakesh.
17:34It's wrong, I'm afraid.
17:36Ooh.
17:37It's not one of the five places listed there.
17:39You're looking for something else.
17:40Yeah.
17:41Something that's perhaps a little bit more hidden.
17:43But each place on this list will help you find out a little bit about where the meeting
17:49will be held.
17:49Do you have to order them?
17:50T.
17:50According to the gate?
17:51No.
17:52They stay in that order.
17:53Oh.
17:53But use the gate numbers.
17:55The gate...
17:56Is it Tokyo?
17:57It is Tokyo, yeah.
17:58Exactly right.
17:59Tokyo, yeah.
18:00So, the gate numbers help you unlock each different place.
18:04So, the fourth letter of Porto is T.
18:07The second letter of Copenhagen is O.
18:08The sixth letter of Marrakesh is K.
18:10The third of Plymouth is Y.
18:11And the first of Oslo is O.
18:14That spells Tokyo.
18:16Salute you, Riddle Master.
18:17It was a good one, wasn't it?
18:18He defeated you there.
18:20Yeah.
18:20You got a little round of applause from Sally there.
18:23Fantastic.
18:24Not from the rest of us, mind.
18:25Just Sally.
18:28Listen, we've got two more visual riddles to go in this round.
18:31So, shall we keep playing?
18:32Yeah.
18:32Here we go.
18:33Hands by the buzzers.
18:33Good luck.
18:35Which former Labour Party leader became Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero in 2024?
18:44Sally and Les.
18:45Ms. Truss.
18:46Incorrect.
18:47Which former Labour Party leader became Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero in 2024?
18:54Gareth and Chris.
18:55Ed Miliband.
18:56Correct.
18:56Well done, Gareth and Chris.
18:58Which sauce that includes vinegar and anchovies is traditionally added to a Bloody Mary cocktail?
19:05Gareth and Chris.
19:06Oh, no.
19:07Sorry.
19:08Which sauce that includes vinegar and anchovies is traditionally added to a Bloody Mary cocktail?
19:13Sally and Les.
19:14Worcester.
19:15Correct.
19:17Worcester or Worcestershire?
19:19V.E. Day, marking an end to the Second World War, was celebrated in May of which year?
19:24Gareth and Chris.
19:251945.
19:26Correct.
19:28Which animator and film producer is played by Tom Hanks?
19:34Sally and Les.
19:35Walt Disney?
19:36Yes, in the film Saving Mr. Banks.
19:38OK.
19:39It's poised very delicately between the two teams here.
19:43Whoever answers this next question correctly will get to face Henry for the next visual riddle.
19:48Good luck.
19:49Which country is the only member of the European Union whose English name ends in the letter M?
19:59Gareth and Chris?
20:00Gareth and Chris?
20:27Belgium.
20:27And it loses 10 minutes every hour.
20:29If she correctly sets it at midnight when her clock shows 5am, what will the correct time be?
20:34Your time starts now.
20:36If she correctly sets it at midnight when her clock shows 5am, then it would be another 50 minutes off.
20:51So, if she loses 10 minutes every hour, if she correctly sets it at midnight when her clock shows 5am,
20:56what will the correct time be?
21:05You've got 30 seconds left.
21:07It loses 10 minutes.
21:12She can make this sound.
21:16What do you notice is that?
21:22Les.
21:25What is it love?
21:26You've got 10 seconds.
21:27Lock something in.
21:28I want to lock in C, please.
21:31C.
21:32Yeah.
21:33Gareth, it's wrong.
21:34I thought so.
21:35Right.
21:35Sally and Les.
21:37Lock in an answer, please.
21:38B.
21:39We think.
21:40A.
21:41wrong as well the correct answer obviously is b that's the only one you haven't said
21:46six o'clock anyone has the guess as to why that is because the 12 is the first 10 12
21:51is the first
21:5210 yeah it's much easier to work it out if you go forwards rather than counting back exactly right
21:58so if you work through from midnight when the clock is set you start at 12 it's going to show
22:0212 o'clock because it's set correctly right at one o'clock it's lost 10 minutes so you're at 12
22:07.50
22:07at two o'clock it's 1 40 3 2 30 4 3 20 5 4 10 and 6 it's going
22:13to be five yeah yeah it's a bit back
22:14to front tricky one to get your head around these visual ones are really hard henry i'm scolding you
22:20a little bit yes now we've got one more be nice okay please be nice okay we've got one more
22:27visual
22:27riddle left hands by the buzzers here we go the brown recluse is a venomous species of what type
22:34of animal sally unless snake incorrect the brown recluse is a venomous species of what type of

22:56from unlocking the final visual riddle in the series of novels by rick riordan which greek god of the sea
23:03is the father of christian jackson gareth and chris poseidon yes great literary knowledge there well
23:09done so gareth you put the last riddle chris is it your turn i think so you think it's your
23:15turn okay
23:15you are left with shapes 60 seconds christy give me a correct answer after i've finished reading the
23:21riddle that goes with this which shape completes the second pattern your time starts now oh thanks for that
23:58them
23:58that's albent
23:59okay
24:00okay i am going to lock in d okay locked in d d chris yeah why do you think it's
24:27d um it just felt right but i
24:28know it's wrong it felt right not always a good instinct to go with the one that emotionally feels
24:38right but somehow chris it is the right arm
24:45but i don't think you can tell me why it just felt right henry it felt right well it were
24:50irritatingly
24:50was right anybody has a guess as to why that is your clue is which ones were um missing and
24:56d
24:56i don't think there's any lines on d that's actually contained within the other two shapes
25:01yeah that's absolutely right yeah so all the combination of those lines together need to cover
25:06every single line in the grid and d is the only one that slots in gareth and chris that's another
25:11200
25:12pounds to your prize pot very well done that was the final riddle at least you got one over the
25:16riddle
25:17master that's a good thing to have at the end of this round i'd say two one to you though
25:21riddle
25:22mastering that one yes so teams at the end of that round gareth and chris have 925 pounds sally and
25:29les you have 450 pounds but all of that can change in the next round i think it is definitely
25:35time for
25:35a break i'm definitely ready to not look at any more lines there was quite a lot of brain tubes
25:41have you got something else for us i have less visual this one i'm a long and woolly tail found
25:46in
25:47mittens or the paws of kittens what am i i'll give you the answer after the break
26:02welcome back to ridiculous the ridiculously clever and brain-teasing show now henry what was that you
26:08asked us before the break before the break i asked i'm a long and woolly tail found in mittens or
26:13the
26:13paws of kittens what am i randy what am i well i've been conferring with my teammates over here
26:19and sally thinks she knows the answer sally what do you think it is yarn yarn is the right answer
26:24yeah a long and woolly tail of course yeah yarn can be long woolly if you're spinning a yarn you're
26:28telling a sort of long perhaps a woolly story you find yarn in mittens and kittens play with yarn too
26:34very good lovely one right teams well done we're heading into our deciding round how are you feeling gareth and
26:40chris all right okay yeah yeah nervous yeah you're doing very well though the general knowledge seems
26:47to be a great strength they're a lot faster in that second round so i'm a bit wary now yes
26:52they've
26:52warmed up you see sally and les are warming up they're on your coattails aren't they sally coming
26:57on a quiz was on your bucket list wasn't it yeah how are you feeling i'm having a ball are
27:03you really
27:04interesting even though my heart is almost in need of cpr uh now let's take a look at your prize
27:12pot
27:12so far so you have 450 pounds and 925 pounds but guys this is where the competition gets serious as
27:20the team with the highest prize pot at the end of this round will be going through to the final
27:26to face
27:27henry's riddle run now this time correct questions from me are worth 100 pounds and henry how much are
27:35your riddles worth they're worth 300 pounds in this round and of course they're the hardest you've faced
27:41so far so you can see there's a lot of money here to be won and the lead can change
27:46a lot in this
27:47deciding round so keep playing hard good luck to both teams here we go let's play
27:54which spanish island in the mediterranean is known as the white isle salian les ibiza correct
28:03the first 100 pounds of this round to salian les the u.s presidential election is held every four

28:47you've got three questions right and you're already on the verge of maybe adding 300 pounds to your prize
28:53pot henry will they be able to do it let's see another chance to take the lead if you can
28:57get this one
28:58right i'm worth 14 pounds in mixed notes despite being a very old age what am i 14 pounds is
29:06a stone
29:07isn't it notes is an anagram of stone despite being a very old answer what's the just oh stones are
29:17old aren't they yeah yeah stone are we going for that well you might as well think about it a
29:23bit
29:23longer just in case remember why oh no mixed notes is a mixture of the letters of stone so it's
29:33it makes
29:34sense you're not going to get anything else no i think you're right stone wow stone quite a quick
29:41answer also a very good answer stone is correct yeah you figured out all of that out very very
29:49quickly of course 14 pounds of course is a stone in weight yeah very good with the mixed notes of
29:53course mix the anagram indicator there notes anagram of stone and of course the stone age very old age
29:58well done well you're staging a very good comeback very quickly sally and les let's add 300 pounds to
30:04your prize pot well you've gone into the lead gareth and chris listen up by just 25 pounds so you
30:12are
30:12neck and neck very close okay here we go next question the beaufort scale is used to measure
30:20what type of sally and les wind yes what type of weather phenomenon wind it was in the tv series

31:08in 1995 is named after sally and les holly oaks is named after the fictional chester suburb in which it
31:17is set it is indeed holly oaks look at this riddle master it's extraordinary yeah they're both fighting
31:24to face you yes though black flag odyssey and gareth and chris assassin's creed oh my goodness yes
31:32and valhalla are installments of which long-running video game franchise now i know how you spend your
31:38time right okay gareth and chris you are in the lead but only just slightly if you stole it
31:46it could be a different story sally and les here we go good luck you can find me in a
31:51river and find
31:52me in the sea or find me in a theater if you just remove a tea what am i if
31:58you just remove a tea
31:59so it's going to be finding a theater if you just remove the tea so it's going to be theater
32:02without
32:03tea isn't it yeah what's in the river and the sea there's a bed that makes no sense i always
32:08think
32:08about actually uh um if i meet and see um yeah i'm trying to rearrange rearrange theater um earth no
32:18seat jump no that doesn't make sense no uh you know anagrams us here yeah without tea
32:26i don't want to see you put a t but that's the best i've got i'm happy to stick yeah
32:32that if you want
32:32to okay can we lock in seat seat i'm afraid it's the wrong answer right sally and les you've had
32:39the
32:40same amount of time so we need an answer for a steal please all i was going to say is
32:44heater right
32:45heater i think you know is is not the right answer yeah oh tricky why it is tricky we are
32:50looking for
32:50a fish type of fish but a different kind of theater what an operating theater an operating theater is
32:56right les sturgeon sturgeon is the right answer yeah of course you would try to take tea out of
33:02theater but actually you needed to take tea out of the answer um yeah if you remove the tea from
33:07sturgeon of course you get surgeon who you'd find an operating theater uh so sturgeon is the right answer
33:12yeah you can go off people who you find do you know what i mean 100 that was tricky no
33:19we salute you
33:20you are the riddle master for a reason tricky one we have to give him begrudging respect don't we at
33:25this stage we do we do we do right okay well let's not give up hope because we do have
33:29one more
33:30brilliant riddle on its way and of course this is the deciding round so there is still absolutely
33:35everything to play for for both teams good luck what surname is shared by danny a fictional thief
33:43and billy the singer of love really hurts without you gareth and chris ocean yes danny ocean from oceans
33:5211 11 and billy ocean of course which european country has cities named dortmund and dusseldorf

34:09charles dickens novel with the same initials salian les david copperfield yes correct
34:17prime minister kia starmer was at school with which musician whose hits include praise you and
34:25gareth and chris fat boy slim on norman cock correct well done the hits include praise you and the
34:32rockefeller skank we've got one more riddle left you're both just one correct answer away from unlocking
34:38it in the deciding round what form of cooking is known in south africa as braai gareth and chris
34:46grilling yeah grill or grilling i can accept the answer was barbecue my goodness that was a guess
34:51was it almost no i'm so sorry it was that confused looking shocking surprise when i said you got it
35:00right listen this is really exciting gareth and chris you've now unlocked the final high value riddle
35:06of this deciding round good luck in ancient rome i was formed by two at the forefront of vice and
35:13virtue
35:13today i'm built by three but still have nine romans on my tail what am i what's what has a
35:21tail and nine
35:22romans i don't know what's that um on my tail what am i something to do with romans no way
35:29it's something
35:30that last last last word on there nine built by three and i have nine romans on the tail
35:38i have no idea sally and lez are deep in conversation yeah i'm just trying to listen
35:43i can't
35:49go on i'm thinking numerals yeah yeah should we just lock that in yeah numerals roman numerals
35:54locking in roman numerals yeah it's the wrong answer okay sally and les we need an answer for a
36:01deal vixen vixen i'm afraid it's the wrong answer oh sally you've got half of it right so of course
36:08the forefront of vice and virtue is vi vi so in roman numerals what is vi six six which is
36:15the right
36:15answer okay it's just six it's six exactly so sort of yeah very simple so vi vi but also of
36:22course you
36:22got the second part but today on the tail yeah exactly ix on the end ix in roman numerals is
36:28nine
36:29on the tail and of course it's built by three today but built by two then so in roman times
36:33you'd have
36:33written six as vi built by two today it's built by three three letters another half an hour another
36:39half an hour tricky one tricky one yeah again yeah it takes a bit of figuring out there's lots going
36:45on
36:45with that one but yeah well done for getting most of the way there that was a tough one wasn't
36:48it
36:48and there was no money to be won for either team there but you really gave it a good go
36:53i mean i
36:53could feel your cogs turning throughout it but listen thank you so much henry for those riddles i
36:58think thank you anyway i think i'm told to say thank you uh now listen congratulations after that deciding
37:05round to gareth and chris you're through to the final with a prize pot of 1625 pounds but my goodness
37:13sally and les you gave them a run for their money right to the end it's been fab thank you
37:17very much
37:17well we've we've loved having you thank you so much well after the break gareth and chris now
37:22will face henry's riddle run and we'll see how they cope under that pressure with all the cash that
37:27they've accumulated up for grabs but first henry can we have something easy i keep every i said can you
37:34give us an easy one please this one's a little bit easier i think what cockney fella who's sound as
37:38a
37:39pound can blast jets of water from holes in the ground i'll give you the answer when we come back
37:55welcome back this is ridiculous now henry what was that riddle that you set us all before the
38:00break i asked what cockney fella who's sound as a pound can blast jets of water from holes in the
38:06ground gareth and chris you're our champion riddle solvers what do you think geezer
38:10geez fantastic great mime also yes extra points for that very good now listen gareth and chris well
38:20done you've made it through to the final can i ask you don't both do comedy gigs which i imagine
38:26are
38:26quite stressful and lots of pressure when you're performing what's harder being here and about to
38:31face henry or going up on stage i would rather do a hundred gigs to some really rough rooms than
38:36do this
38:37again this is so new you'd rather be heckled and people booing the worst gig park i'd rather do a
38:44hundred of them i see i'm getting a sense of how much the pressure is right now listen how have
38:50you
38:50been preparing for the show because i have to say you've played a brilliant game great on general
38:53knowledge pretty good on the riddles too with um rebus riddles i'm looking forward to this one
38:58because every christmas my in-laws play like a rebus riddle game which i've had for like 25 years so
39:03they
39:03know all the answers and i don't so i suffer but i think hopefully by osmosis i'm fairly confident
39:08i see well you may have rehearsed a riddle run maybe maybe well let's see if that stands you in
39:13good stead to take home what you've already accrued which is 1625 pounds now what would the money go to
39:21if you managed to take that home i didn't think we'd get this far so i haven't thought of anything
39:25so
39:25great um i would i think the kids get enough so i'd probably buy myself a nice new watch
39:30why not yeah garrus i've always wanted um to repair the fence that blew over about four years
39:34ago such a dad answer isn't it i love that i love that well listen i hope you get there
39:40both of you
39:41but in order to take that money home you have to face henry's riddle run okay henry what exactly do
39:48they have to do so in my riddle run you'll be facing riddles in which words are represented by a
39:53combination of pictures and letters they're often known as rebus riddles and the answers are phrases
39:59sayings or a combination of words that are familiar to all okay so gareth and chris the rules are
40:05simple there are 10 riddles in all and you need six correct in 60 seconds to take home the money
40:14that you've built up so far if you're not sure about a particular riddle just say pass and then
40:19you can come back to it later if you need to and that's not all if you do answer six
40:24correctly
40:25you'll then have the chance to double your winnings and take home 3 250 pounds you could
40:32have a whole new fence forget repairing uh but listen if it all went wrong of course you would
40:38still be able to go home with our collectible tea cup and saucer yes first though of course we want
40:45you to go home with much more than that you've got to face henry's riddle run are you focused yes
40:49are you ready yes yeah good luck henry over to you thanks rammer okay guys good luck your 60 seconds
40:55will start as soon as your first riddle is revealed let's play uh toes uh up toes toes uh toes
41:03turned
41:03up uh pointing up towards toes um pass here you go curiosity uh cat burglar cat burglar curious each other
41:13curious to kill the cap correct uh middle of the mind mind middle uh mind the gap correct
41:19uh corner space corner office correct uh diamonds are forever correct
41:24and revenge correct uh what's the street street street waltz uh waltzing in the street pass
41:35uh broken bones sticks and stones may break my bones correct
41:40oh my goodness me i bet you started sweating during that didn't you a little bit
41:46you did it though thank you very much wow well done that means you've just won 1625 pounds
41:54very nice well i was a little bit concerned at the beginning because that first one you struggled
41:58on a little bit any ideas now what it might be i thought it was obvious
42:01did we swat up swat up absolutely right which is what you've been doing for the riddle run
42:06swatting up this one uh yeah curiosity killed the cat of course curiosity is jailed and the cat
42:11is the victim so it's that rather than cat burglar mind the gap is the next one you got this
42:16one right
42:17yeah corner office you got this one right diamonds are and then four evers that gives you diamonds are
42:22forever and then ring fence you've obviously been focused a lot on fencing recently
42:26has a slight advantage on that one that's a ring of fencer around the word all that could be yours
42:36if you choose to double up and then this one you got stuck on so you were talking about waltzing
42:42in
42:42the streets that's not the phrase dancing in the street is the phrase yeah of course dancing and the
42:46work the waltz is in the word street so it is dancing in the street literally and then finally this
42:51one sticks and stones may break my bones well done very good thank you yes you seem very relieved yes
42:57yes and a bit shattered might i say but listen you can relax really if you want to because you've
43:03managed to win 1625 pounds good and if that is enough for you then we're delighted you can finish
43:08the game and you can leave with that money or you could choose to face one last riddle now this
43:15time
43:16you'll have just 20 seconds to give an answer if you get it right you will double your winnings and
43:22you will take away 3250 pounds but if you can't find the right answer in the time then you'll lose
43:30everything and you'll leave with nothing apart from of course our teacup and saucer so what's the plan
43:37i think we should stick with the cash is it stick with it i was getting quite kind of like
43:42let's do
43:42it um because that would be fun but we did stumble a little bit so i'm quite happy to let
43:48you have a
43:48fence yeah i think yeah yeah happy with that we'll stick with money if that's okay you're gonna stick
43:52with the money it is okay yes good well listen gareth and chris you're walking away with 1625 pounds
43:59but just for fun slash torture would you like to see what might have happened henry should we do it
44:06absolutely so yeah had you chosen to play you would have had 20 seconds to answer this
44:12no that's fine what do you think guys uh it yeah so it's spots try backwards this starts
44:24so it's a more more than symbol more than oh that would have been the end of yeah so you
44:34made
44:35the right choice not to play it it um happy about that because if it was easy let's break it
44:40down
44:40what do the letters say it's parts it's parts yeah greater than the sum of its parts yeah i wonder
44:45about that we're adding up its parts it's greater than that so it's greater than the sum of its parts
44:49is the right answer yeah tricky one i think you were right to keep the money ring fenced yeah well
44:56done
44:57gareth and chris thrilled for you it's been lovely to have you on the show you were brilliant you kept
45:01cool even when it was very very close throughout the game and uh yeah brilliant riddle run well
45:05done yeah salute your riddle master you gave us some caucus today i have to say they were tricky today
45:10and that's it from us for now henry super riddles today it's been a great show thank you so much
