10:13some of these big ones pedro branca and squizzy is fishing 100 meters down hunting for monster
10:21size brindles the reason i'm fishing deep here at the moment at pedro is that's the only place we're
10:26seeing fish we're only getting good pots in the deep water so that's what we're going to concentrate on
10:31for our night shot and day shot you put that on snug beach i reckon caught him on the sand
10:41pedro branca the casino in the sea has already paid out some good numbers to squizzy but the bold
10:48contenders catch rate is slowing is squizzy's good luck now in reverse
10:55i'm a little bit disappointed where we are here at the moment because uh i've made human error i didn't
11:02allow for enough for the tide and they drifted back on to the top and i want them down on
11:08the bottom of
11:08the ledge so i've missed the bottom when you fish the deep water and and the tide's running you've got
11:16to
11:16sort of know what you're doing if i drop a pot here and i don't allow for that tide and
11:21i'm trying to
11:22hit something here that pot will end up down here
11:31i'm going to shoot these pots straight back in the same area because i know but i think there's some
11:39fish here i just uh stuffed up shooting mcgavin's gonna have another go

13:33bucks just to replace it and if we don't have it we can't catch fish with it so
13:37can you see any floating rope sort of around us johnny four or five days left in this trip
13:41it could cost us two or three grand's worth of fish not having that one pot on board

14:29current market yeah bryce has fallen short of his 100 lobster target this morning was just
14:49very average like there's nothing really good about it there's one pot of seven here one pot of seven
14:54there blanks all in the middle we ended up with 88 total so it is what it is there's worse

18:29and decky jock is honoring a winter solstice tassie ritual it's a bit of a tassie tradition
18:36that you guys swimming in the nude on the solstice mid-winter water's cold just i don't know it's just
18:42a tassie thing now so the winter solstice in tasmania is when you've got the full moon and
18:46the shortest day of the year now in hobart what we do is we all get naked together on a
18:51beach hundreds
18:52of people and jump in the ocean now i haven't been a part of that i don't think lock has
18:56been a part of
18:57that jock is always a part of that as soon as he jumps in the water i'm going to throw
19:01this across
19:01ways that way as he drifts back he'll be able to grab onto something if he needs it worst case

19:07just both jump in after him and leave an unmanned boat we're about 12 kilometers offshore so uh it's
19:14one of the more extreme uh winter solstice swims i've done but we'll go for it we're currently situated

19:26in naked fortunately jock's a very strong swimmer it's just a matter of hopefully he doesn't go

23:04to contemplate his next move i was enjoying a nice lunch about an hour and a half break

23:41and just caught absolutely nothing i don't want to say it but i think someone might have been through
23:48and cut them off jack and johnny are looking for a lost pot should be sort of just here off

24:56learn so locky has gone and got one of his tickets he can't drive this boat by himself however we're
25:03coming up to a piece of bottom where locky can easily shoot the gear in it's very easy to look

25:14he'll be shooting four pots in that's good enough chance for him to catch maybe five or ten fish
25:21yeah little bitches in there we'll see if he can get something out of four pots
25:26all i want to see him do is what i told him to do and zigzag up and back and

25:32ledge that's where the fish have been it's your hand of the reins over to locky it's easiest way
25:37be in there no point just let him do it get a feel for it and uh we'll find out

26:45like that rope started really going out it's incredibly dangerous i'm going back in the wheel
26:50that's where i'm safe i'm not safe around him i don't think oh it's weird good work john

27:07here we go johnny i'm a bit skeptical about this day shot that i've chucked in
27:13the giblet and jack is hoping that today's day shot for reds is a profitable one that their run of

27:20form turns good we took a bit of a gamble by chucking him in on the reds too so he's
27:25a ripper
27:26he's a ripper red lobsters mostly feed at night in shallower waters around 20 meters below sea level
27:35the redfish don't really like daylight they prefer to move around in the dark whereas brindles you
27:40know if they're in 100 meters of water it's it's a lot darker down there for them so they can
27:43be active
27:44day and night red day fishing is painful and i do it to myself all the time
27:52hurt myself emotionally
27:56no way this doesn't have lobster's in it just seeing where it come from
