00:14of began a pretty active may there with the ray colorado tornado may 7 2016 and it was an event
00:23where kind of the high plains meet a traditional great plains setup and maria molina who used to
00:29be a meteorologist at accuweather and i flew in to denver colorado rented a car and then chased that
00:36entire day missed a lot of amazing tornadoes over the years from just making a bad decision
00:46here and there or even making all the right decisions and still just getting unlucky at the
00:51end but that's just how storm chasing goes you got to keep putting yourself in position like that
00:56and then eventually now you'll end up up close to a tornado like the one in ray colorado
01:10and just to kind of see your understanding of meteorology and and physics uh play out the way
01:15that you think it's going to definitely gives you a good feeling and i think that's what
01:18uh made that setup so unique is uh exactly what we thought was going to happen uh happen
