People & Politics | Campaigning for Germany’s Seniors
  • 15 years ago
The voting public in Germany is getting older: Every third voter is aged 60 or older. With elections coming up next month,German politicians may do well to court the elderly vote by campaigning for pension increases or even a guaranteed pension policy. As winning the senior vote becomes more and more significant in winning campaigns,Germany’s political parties are focusing in on the country’s elderly. No voter group casts their ballots more consistently than pensioners, who tend to prefer Germany’s big-name political parties.
