00:15A major global power now openly backing Iran.
00:20In a dramatic escalation of rhetoric, China has described the U.S.-Israel war on Iran
00:27as illegitimate. The explosive remarks came during high-level talks in Beijing between
00:33Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
00:39According to Iranian state-linked media, Wang Yi condemned the military campaign against
00:46Tehran calling for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire. And the timing could not be more
00:53critical. Because behind closed doors, Pakistan-mediated negotiations between Washington and Iran are
01:00reportedly moving closer to a possible breakthrough. A proposed one-page memorandum aimed at pausing
01:08the war, freezing Iran's nuclear enrichment, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. But in
01:15Beijing, the message from China was unmistakable. The current conflict, China says, is pushing
01:21the Middle East toward a decisive turning point. And direct dialogue, not military escalation,
01:28is the only path forward. Wang Yi reportedly told the Iranian delegation
01:34that a complete ceasefire is both necessary and inevitable.
01:39For Iran, China's support matters enormously. Tehran is under mounting economic pressure, facing
01:46sanctions, naval blockades, and international isolation. But Beijing remains one of Iran's
01:53most powerful partners, economically, diplomatically, and strategically. Araqchi praised China's firm
02:01position, especially its criticism of the United States and Israel. And he signaled that ties
02:07between Tehran and Beijing will now grow even stronger. Iran's Foreign Minister also repeated
02:14Tehran's position that any agreement must be fair and comprehensive, and that Iran will defend
02:21what it calls its legitimate rights, including its nuclear program. The Beijing meeting comes after
02:28a whirlwind diplomatic tour by Araqchi, including stops in Pakistan, Oman, and Russia. In St. Petersburg,
02:36Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly assured Iran that Moscow would do everything in its power
02:43to support a peace settlement. Now China appears to be stepping in more directly, positioning itself
02:50not only as a strategic partner, but as a diplomatic counterweight to Washington. For the United States,
02:58this creates a larger geopolitical challenge. Because the Iran crisis is no longer just regional,
03:05it is increasingly becoming a global power contest, with Beijing and Moscow aligning more openly against U.S.
03:13military pressure. And while ceasefire negotiations may be advancing, deep divisions remain. No deal has
03:21been signed, key issues are unresolved, and both sides remain deeply distrustful. But one thing is now clear,
03:30China is no longer staying quiet, and its intervention could reshape the balance of diplomacy in one of the
03:37world's most dangerous conflicts.
