The 2026 London Marathon has broken the race’s own record as the biggest annual one-day fundraising event in the world, organisers said.

00:10first athlete to break the two-hour barrier in an official competition to win in a world record one hour,

00:21And Tix the Sefer from Ethiopia broke her own woman-only world record in two hours, 15 minutes and 41
00:29seconds.
00:30This year's edition of the race also broke the Guinness world record title for the most finishers in a marathon
00:37with 59,830 people completing the event.
00:42And of course, so far a total of £87.5 million has been raised for charities, surpassing the previous £87
00:51.3 million record set at last year's race.
00:56However, a final total for the 2026 marathon will be announced in September and is expected to hit more than
01:05£90 million, according to the organisers.
