Learn how to delete rows in Excel without affecting other rows.

In Excel, users can delete rows without impacting adjacent rows by selecting the target rows, right-clicking, and choosing "Delete." This action allows for seamless removal while maintaining the integrity of surrounding data. To delete all rows from a table without erasing the table structure, one can navigate to the table, right-click, and select "Table" from the context menu, followed by "Delete" and choosing "Table Rows." When aiming to remove rows absent in another table, utilizing the "NOT IN" SQL operator or employing VLOOKUP or INDEX-MATCH functions in Excel facilitates the task. Removing rows based on values from another table can be accomplished via Excel's Power Query or VBA scripting, allowing for dynamic data manipulation. Deleting individual cells without affecting neighboring cells involves selecting the target cell, right-clicking, and opting for "Delete" or using the "Clear Contents" option to retain cell formatting. In terms of efficiency, leveraging Excel functions like FILTER, Advanced Filter, or utilizing PivotTables can expedite the process of deleting rows based on specific criteria while preserving data integrity.

Here are the steps outlined in my video.

1) Select cells you want to delete
2) Hold Ctrl + Shift
3) Place cursor on border of cell until you see 2-way arrow.
4) Left-click and drag to row you want deleted.
5) Left go of the left click.

00:00I recently shared a video highlighting a nifty technique for deleting rows in Excel without
00:03affecting the adjacent table. However, someone suggested an alternate approach. Allow me to
00:08provide a comprehensive rundown of all available techniques for deleting and inserting rows in
00:12Excel without disrupting neighboring rows and table. Let's start off with deleting rows. For
00:16the first technique to remove rows, begin by selecting the rows, then hold down control and
00:21shift key. Next, position your mouse cursor at the bottom right hand corner of the selector cell,
00:25left click and drag upwards. The second technique for removing rows would be to start by selecting
00:30the rows, then right click on the selector cell, choose delete from the context menu and select
00:34shift cell up and click on ok. And now to add rows without affecting a adjacent table, the technique
00:39is going to be the same but with a minor twist. For the first technique to add rows, select the
00:43rows,
00:44hold down control shift, position the cursor at the bottom right hand corner of the selector cell,
00:48then drag the cursor downwards to add rows below or upwards to add rows above. The second technique
00:54you need to add rows would be to select the number of rows to add, right click, insert shift
00:58shell down and ok.
