For some Leeds locals, breakfast is the most important way to start to the day - it's a moment to fuel up, plan ahead, or enjoy a favourite routine. For others, it's something they skip entirely. We spoke to some passers-by in the city centre about their all-time favourite breakfasts, as well as their daily breakfast routines.

00:00Well, the best breakfast has to be a full English breakfast.
00:03I don't think there's any, like, there's no question about that, really.
00:06But I have, every morning, banana porridge.
00:08It's just a thing, I don't know why.
00:09Chachuca with chorizo, but if I'm...
00:11My normal breakfast day-to-day would be, like, a poached egg sort of thing.
00:14Poached eggs on toast, bit of avocado, like, just the basics.
00:18I don't always eat breakfast,
00:19because sometimes I wake up and my stomach's still asleep,
00:22so I'm not really ready for food, to be honest.
00:24And I find myself that I kind of don't really eat much until tea time.
00:29If I do have breakfast, I like to eat with...
00:31There's a couple of things that are quite elaborate to make it interesting.
00:34Boiled eggs and soldiers.
00:37But what I do is, like, a tin of anchovies, butter and parsley,
00:41and chop it up to make it anchovy butter.
00:44Spread that on your toast, and that dips into your soft, boiled eggs.
00:48It's amazing.
00:49I don't really love breakfast,
00:50and I think it's because I don't like the foods that are traditionally breakfast foods.
00:54I don't like eggs, and eggs are everywhere.
00:56I don't like cereal and cereals everywhere.
00:58So I tend to have my first meal mid-afternoon,
01:01and I think I've just got used to doing it that way.
01:03Once in a while, if I do fancy a treat,
01:06I do, like, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel.
01:08Sometimes it feels like it's a chore to eat porridge.
01:11However, grated apple, a handful of seeds, some chia seeds,
01:17a bit of cinnamon, a bit of honey.
01:19Stir that through and just bring that to the boil, or, you know, whatever.
01:22And that just really kind of makes a difference to your porridge.
01:24And, you know, and you can put cocoa powder in there.
01:27And just, you know, porridge is just so versatile.
