00:00Kamusta Pepsters, it's Bernie and this time around, we'll feature a dining place
00:05that blends traditional Filipino dishes with Asian flavors.
00:10Sounds exciting? Believe me when I say the taste is even better.
00:15We visited a hidden gem, tucked in Valencia, Quezon City.
00:21Enter Key Pan-Asian Brasserie where Filipino flavors meet foreign dishes.
00:28Interesting fact, ang restaurant ay dating residential area na itinayo noong 1950s.
00:36In 2023, the Panlaki family, originally from Guagua, Pampanga, bought the house and transformed it into a food business.
00:46So Key is derived from the family name Panlaki.
00:50The interior? Comfortable, homey. For added privacy, they have tables on the second floor.
00:58The area is wider and they also have a VIP room.
01:05Sa ground floor naman, meron din silang maluwag na al fresco area.
01:11At the center of it all is Rachel Panlaki, a former government employee who ventured into food business.
01:18Since her family has been in the food industry for decades,
01:22Rachel decided to come up with a food spot that offers a homey feeling with dishes that satisfy the tummy
01:29and the heart.
01:30As a Kapampangan, Rachel grew up knowing traditional Filipino food served at home.
01:36That is the concept of Key, serving quality food with that homey vibe.
01:42She added a unique twist to her menu.
01:45As a travel junkie, Rachel combined traditional Filipino cuisines with popular Asian dishes.
01:53When you go to Key, we have three good food, nice ambiance, and excellent service.
02:00Yung sarap ng pagkain, yung traditions.
02:02Binabalikan nila is sa yung food.
02:04Usually kasi when you do fusion, minsan hindi siya nag-cocombine.
02:08Pero ito, seamlessly combined yung flavors niya and yung techniques niya is really precision.
02:15Pag-usapan natin yung mga bestsellers.
02:17Corpenship dumplings, sinigang X, fluffy chocolate mousse.
02:21Sinigang X is the fusion of the Filipino sinigang and the tom yum soup.
02:28Almost all the Asian spices present doon.
02:31Nandun pa rin yung Filipino sinigang.
02:33Pero mag-half ka din kasi isipin mo, natikman mo din yung tom yum.
02:36Pag-usapan din natin ng konti yung palabok.
02:38Crispy panlaksa.
02:39Napagsama namin yung palabok at saka yung laksa.
02:42Actually, yung kare-kare namin, slow cooking yung ginagawa namin doon sa Oxtail.
02:46It's three hours.
02:48Nabagoong is our recipe since 80s.
02:52And homemade siya, hindi siya nabibili sa bote.
02:55So everything from the food here in Key is made from scratch.
02:59At yung bestseller, yung iced tea?
03:01Lola Amore.
03:02It's made from blue pea.
03:04And then, matagal yung pag-steep ng tea.
03:08So yung process na dinaanan, nung drink na yun, it will take you three to four hours.
03:14Yung blue pea na yun, meron kami nun sa farm namin sa D-Arte.
03:17Yung dumplings naman.
03:18Para siyang gyoza.
03:19And then we only use yung premium pork ingredient.
03:22And all other ingredients na nilagay doon.
03:25Lahat ng interested na kumain sa Key, we will make sure that you get the value for your money.
03:30Because we make sure that you're satisfied with Key.
03:33Not only with the food, but with the ambience and the service.
03:38So, if you are craving Filipino food with a twist, set in a homey place,
03:44visit Key Pan Asian Brasserie at 14 Castilles Street, Valencia, Quezon City.
