00:42By now, the term UFO is universally understood to mean unidentified flying object.
00:50It describes a variety of phenomena, from metallic flying discs to mysterious orbs of light and even craft the size

01:01And there are places around the globe that seem to have an unusually high occurrence of anomalous sightings.
01:09These locations have so much activity, they've earned the name UFO Hotspots.

01:22In the middle of an otherwise peaceful night, the USS Omaha Combat Information Center records an astonishing event off the
01:31coast of Southern California.
01:33An unidentified, oval-shaped craft is witnessed performing mysterious maneuvers in restricted airspace around a U.S. Navy destroyer.
01:43It is one amazing piece of footage showing a UFO hovering over the sea.
01:49Whoa, it's getting close.
01:51And then apparently descending into the ocean.
01:55Whoa, it splashed, splashed.
01:57When the footage is leaked to the public by investigative filmmaker Jeremy Korbel two years later, its authenticity is quickly
02:06confirmed by the Pentagon.
02:08I knew that it would strike a chord.
02:11You can see the structure of the craft being oval or circular.
02:15You can see that it doesn't have these plumes of exhaust or heat trails or any traditional propulsion.
02:21What you're seeing is a technology that is so far advanced from anything that we have ever created or shown
02:29in the theater of war, which is where we show our greatest technologies.
02:33The strange incident was more than intriguing to UFO researchers, not only because of how the craft maneuvered, but also
02:41because of the area where it appeared.
02:45Off the coast of San Diego in California is somewhere that UFOs or UAPs have been appearing regularly for decades.
02:55Since 1995, more than 1,000 UFO sightings have been reported in the San Diego area.
03:04All these reports of sightings were not just made up.
03:07They can be photographed.
03:09There's something up there and sometimes down in the water that no one understands.
03:16More and more the military is acknowledging that it's interested, giving credibility to the fact that these things exist.
03:25When you realize that the San Diego naval base is one of the most restricted naval bases, restricted areas in
03:33the country, UFOs are flying back and forth over the ships, over the base.
03:40The number of UFO reports occurring in San Diego may appear quite significant.
03:47However, it is just one of several locations around the globe where similar incidents are often reported and documented.
03:57Locations that have come to be known as UFO hotspots.
04:01A UFO hotspot is a physical space where sightings of unusual aerial phenomena are common.
04:10There's usually a perceivable unusual energy at the site.
04:15There's been a long history of sightings at these places.
04:20UFO hotspots are places where UFOs occur not just across a few years, but across decades.
04:30And, of course, the question becomes, you know, why are these places so important?
04:35Why is it that UFOs can appear at them more frequently than anywhere else?
04:43Marfa is this mountain range in Texas, and it's these strange anomalous lights that nobody has ever been able to
04:54figure out.
04:56It's such a hotspot that the actual state of Texas built a viewing station where people can stop and rest
05:07and watch the Marfa lights at night.
05:11The Bermuda Triangle is also a well-known hotspot as well.
05:17Wiltshire, England is another.
05:20Sedona has become a very popular hotspot.
05:24And Skinwalker Ranch in northern Utah is an outstanding example of a hotspot.
05:30Native Americans have said for centuries that this is a place where supernatural UFO activity occurs.
05:36It seems that a large proportion of sightings of UFOs or UAPs in the modern world do take place at
05:44hotspots.
05:46The perception of so-called UFO hotspots emerged in the aftermath of two of the most highly publicized UFO incidents
05:54in U.S. history,
05:56which both took place in 1947.
06:02On June 24th, near Mount Rainier in Washington State, pilot Kenneth Arnold reported seeing nine saucer-shaped craft flying in
06:11a coordinated pattern at a speed of approximately 1,200 miles per hour.
06:20Just one month later, the infamous report of a UFO crash took place in Roswell, New Mexico.
06:28The July 8th, 1947 headline went around the world.
06:37In the Roswell Daily Record, flying saucer crashes into a pasture near Roswell.
06:47You start looking at the timeline and what was happening through 1947 and beyond.
06:55Our government and other governments were developing gigantic, huge storage and files and folders and departments
07:04that were dedicated to the secret study of UFOs and ETs on our planet.
07:14Over the next two decades, thousands of additional UFO sightings were reported around the world,
07:21prompting the U.S. government to launch an investigation into the phenomenon.
07:26The study was given the codename Project Blue Book.
07:29And while the program's official findings were not definitive, a startling trend appeared in the data.
07:36The renowned J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book fame wrote,
07:42there's a statistical analysis that showed when and where these occurrences happened
07:48and a pattern started to emerge, such as UFO sightings, lights in the sky, anomalous activity in the American Southwest,
07:57the Northeast, the Mississippi Valley.
07:59And UFO researchers took notice of this and began to flock to those areas to conduct their research.
08:05Researchers in the 50s and the 60s, they went back through the data and sometimes literally they would get out
08:12a map
08:13and X marks the spot and then they would notice, wait a minute, there are these clusters,
08:21these strange hotspots, areas where these events seem to pile up for no apparent reason.
08:31What researchers realized was that 60 to 70% of UFO sightings in America turn up in the same spots
08:41over and over again.
08:42And they realized that there was something about those spots that was drawing UFO.
08:49If we're trying to solve a mystery, you want to go to a location that has the most clues.
08:54And these are the locations that could have the clues to connect our ancient past to our modern reality
09:00and perhaps give us the answers we're seeking.
09:06Stretching almost 2,500 miles across the southern United States is a mysterious region that is known for UAP sightings,
09:17cattle mutilations and alien abductions.
09:20In fact, these events are reported with such frequency that this hotspot has become known as the UFO superhighway.
09:33Trinidad, Colorado, August 22, 2011.
09:38At 11.46 p.m., this small town is rocked by a 5.3 magnitude earthquake,
09:46the most powerful to hit Colorado in more than a century.
09:51A little over 12 hours later, an even more violent 5.8 magnitude earthquake strikes the area of Piedmont, Virginia.
10:02While the unlikely epicenters of these two seismic events are 1,400 miles apart from each other,
10:09they both occur along the same line of latitude, the 37th parallel.
10:16This detail captures the attention of former sheriff's deputy and UFO researcher Chuck Zukowski
10:24and sparks a revelation regarding his research into unidentified aerial phenomena and mysterious animal mutilations.
10:34The fact that this earthquake activity lays along the 37th parallel that he leads to Chuck Zukowski
10:41to look at trends and patterns in the data that he'd been collecting over various investigations.
10:47Chuck found that sightings and phenomena such as cattle mutilations, various other things,
10:53all lined up along this one line that we refer to as the 37th latitude.
10:59Chuck Zukowski, for many, many years, had been taking down reports of all types of paranormal activity
11:06that were happening both in Colorado and all the way stretching to Virginia.
11:13And Chuck actually has a sister who was also a UFO researcher,
11:18so he called her up and they started to look at each of these points
11:23of where all these different UFO and paranormal activity were taking place.
11:29Zukowski's sister, Debbie Sigelmeyer, is the director of the Missouri branch of MUFON,
11:35or the Mutual UFO Network.
11:37Over the years, the two have amassed data on thousands of UFO sightings.
11:43In 2011, my brother Chuck called me one evening
11:47and we started pinpointing the different locations on a map.
11:53We have a lot of activity going on, especially starting with my state of Missouri.
11:58And then we started expanding farther out.
12:01We noticed activity in Colorado.
12:04Then we started spreading farther out.
12:06It turned out that all but one event was near the 37th parallel.
12:12And we thought, well, this is way bigger than what we thought.
12:16Like all lines of latitude, the 37th parallel is just 69 miles wide.
12:22So Zukowski and Sigelmeyer found it extraordinary that nearly every case they had documented
12:28happened either on or very near this line.
12:32Chuck Zukowski is a highly respected UFO investigator with a lot of boots-on-the-ground experience.
12:41As is his sister Debbie, and they presented to the world the idea that you could draw a straight line
12:49linking all these different incidents at different times.
12:54UFO sightings, abductions, cattle mutilations, paranormal phenomena.
12:59Of course, it was a real attention ghetto.
13:01So the 37th parallel has become known as a sort of UFO superhighway.
13:10CUDA's so-called UFO superhighway really exists along the 37th parallel.
13:16For UFO researchers, the evidence is highly compelling because among the events that Zukowski and Sigelmeyer
13:24sight are some of the most significant UFO reports on record, including one of the only encounters
13:31in which a witness lost his life.
13:36Wilmington, Ohio, January 7th, 1948.
13:41At Clinton County Army Airfield, eyewitnesses report seeing a circular object in the sky
13:48that is described as a flaming red cone trailing a gaseous green mist.
13:55Alarmed by the sightings, the army instructs a squad of airborne F-51D Mustangs under the command
14:01of Captain Thomas Mantell to investigate.
14:05Four fighters led by Captain Mantell were dispatched to try to follow or intercept this object.
14:12The object was massive.
14:13It was about 300 feet in diameter and traveling at about 500 miles per hour.
14:18When they attempted to intercept this object, it was too fast.
14:24And it was also climbing in altitude.
14:28Everyone except Mantell stopped ascending at a certain point due to problems with oxygen.
14:34Mantell pushed his plane, climbing higher and higher towards the object.
14:38However, radio contact with Mantell was lost.
14:43According to reports, as Mantell pursued the UFO, he lost control of the plane and crashed into the ground.
14:52The Mantell incident is an important one.
14:55And that is because it involves a UFO fatality.
14:59And it was because of this UFO fatality that the Air Force began Project Blue Book to look into these
15:06UFO incidents.
15:08The Mantell incident occurred over a stretch of many miles, mostly along the 37th parallel.
15:15With official military involvement, multiple witnesses, and even a fatality, the Mantell incident is considered one of the most compelling
15:25UFO encounters ever recorded.
15:27The mystery of the 37th parallel also includes a UFO incident that occurred 25 years later and lasted for months.
15:37One of the most fascinating areas along the 37th parallel line is Piedmont, Missouri.
15:46The sightings actually started in 1973.
15:50But the one main sighting that people began focusing on happened on February 21st, to be exact.
16:01Coach Reggie Bones was at a basketball game with his team.
16:07As they were coming back home at about 8.30 at night, they saw strange lights in the distance and
16:14they were colored lights flashing.
16:15They saw that the lights weren't just a single pillar in the sky, but were distinct colored lights, red, green,
16:22amber, and white.
16:24Other residents in the area also saw the lights.
16:27The Mantell incident and the Piedmont sightings are just two of hundreds of UFO encounters that Zukowski and Ziegelmeyer have
16:36documented along the 37th parallel.
16:40Also found along this latitude is Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where a UFO crash was reported as early as 1941 and
16:50one of the most famous UFO incidents on record.
16:53The 1947 Roswell crash occurred just over 100 miles south of this line.
17:00It's pretty amazing to think that two of the biggest UFO events that essentially kicked off the modern UFOlogy field,
17:09Roswell and Camp Girardeau, happened to be on or around the 37th parallel.
17:15So you have to wonder why.
17:18Is it some sort of a supernatural force or could it be something to do with extraterrestrials?
17:29South America is a veritable treasure trove for the ancient astronaut theory.
17:35The entire continent is loaded with megalithic structures and mythological traditions that point to extraterrestrial contact in the distant past.
17:46In addition to this history, the nation of Chile continues to report so much anomalous activity that it has become
17:54famous as a UFO hotspot.

18:08After a 17-year rule, Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet steps down.
18:16Ushering in a period of reform across the country.
18:21With a new spirit of government transparency and social freedom, the media, as well as military personnel, begin to openly
18:29investigate Chile's unrivaled UFO phenomenon.
18:34Now, when it came to UFOs, this is not something new in Chile.
18:38In Chile, we have had sightings long before Pinochet.
18:42So, after Pinochet, when the democracy comes back, the military forces were making an effort to change the public opinion
18:51about them.
18:53Following the country's newfound openness to UFO sightings, control tower personnel observed a flurry of mysterious aerial activity in Chilean
19:02airspace.
19:11I do believe it's our right to know exactly what we are seeing, what our military is seeing all over
19:17the world.
19:19Several notorious near-miss incidents elevated Chile's UFO activity from harmless curiosity to an issue of national security.
19:29As a result, in 1997, the Chilean government instituted the Committee on Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena, or CIFA-R.
19:39CIFA-R started as a result of pilot sightings.
19:46Pilots, navigators, radar operators were reporting UFOs.
19:51Some of these objects came dangerously close to aircraft.
19:56The Chilean government decided to act.
19:59So this is unique.
20:00It's government, it's military, and, importantly, it's the scientific community as well, all working together with one common aim.
20:11Find out what these sightings are.
20:15Who's responsible?
20:16What's going on?
20:20CIFA gets reports from all citizens from the far north down to Antarctica.
20:26And these reports are made via our website.
20:30In the last 22 years of investigation, we have received almost 900 reports.
20:35Our process and our manner of looking at these phenomena has been very rigorous, because we owe it to our
20:41community.
20:43Instead of secrecy and cover-ups and conspiracies, we have an atmosphere of openness where people are almost encouraged to
20:53come forward and report.
20:54The default position of CIFA-R after their investigations is to publish, release the case files, tell the people what
21:05you've discovered.
21:06This is astonishing and refreshing.
21:12CIFA-R insists that governments around the world should take a similar approach to accelerate our understanding of these aerial
21:20anomalies and reveal their true origin.
21:28To us, it is important that more organizations or institutions or countries get involved in the study of this phenomenon.
21:36The phenomenon clearly exists.
21:39We don't know exactly if there is only one explanation for its origin.
21:43Without a doubt, however, when other countries or other states create institutions like ours,
21:48they contribute to the security of airspace operations.
21:53We have more good documented video evidence out of Chile than almost any other nation I can think of.
22:02On March 13, 2012, the Chilean government unveiled footage of a curious event caught on camera above the prestigious El
22:12Bosque Air Force Base in Santiago.
22:15Crowds were gathered to celebrate the change of Chilean Air Force Command in 2010,
22:22recording fighter jets performing acrobatic maneuvers overhead.
22:27After investigating the footage, CIFA-R concluded that the jets were not alone.
22:34The El Bosque Air Force Base was one that CIFA-R was very excited about.
22:39And when they slowed down the videos, you could see these objects zipping by at incredible speeds.
22:48This case acquired notoriety once the videos were viewed.
22:52In these videos, there was a dark object that crossed the lines of flight of these squadron formations.
22:59And this is where it gets really intriguing, because the official conclusion was that this UFO was traveling at a
23:08speed of around 4,000 miles an hour.
23:16The British Isles are home to legends of powerful wizards, magical swords, and flying dragons.
23:24For ancient astronaut theorists like me, these stories aren't just fairy tales.
23:30They're possibly encounters with extraterrestrial technology.
23:33And today, England is still a UFO hotspot, where an enormous amount of advanced aerial phenomena has been documented by
23:45alien investigators.
23:49Yorkshire, England.
23:51This historic county is the largest in the United Kingdom.
23:57Known for medieval abbeys, Norman castles, and stunning national parks.
24:03The vast landscape here is also rich with legends of strange beings, bizarre lights in the sky, and even UFOs.
24:15Yorkshire is in northern England, and it's a county that is famous for strange events going back centuries.
24:22Reports of little people, mysterious lights up in the sky, people seeing these strange werewolf-like figures, Bigfoot-type creatures
24:32that come and go.
24:34It's a very strange place.
24:38There is an ancient burial mound in Yorkshire called Willie Howe.
24:44And back in the 1200s, a man had been walking home one night, and he saw lights coming out of
24:53this mound.
24:55And he went into the mound, where he saw strange beings, fairy folk, if you like.
25:02He claimed to have seen these inside the mound.
25:05England has a very rich tradition of fairy folk going back into the mists of time.
25:12And it's interesting, though, that the way encounters with these fairy folk, or whatever one might call them,
25:20the way they're expressed is very, very similar over the years to descriptions of encounters with aliens.
25:28Reports of mysterious phenomena in Yorkshire are found throughout the historical record,
25:34from ancient times right up until the present day.
25:38In an effort to better understand what has been happening here,
25:43private investigator Paul Sinclair and his team began researching and surveilling the area in 2009.
25:51I originally spent a lot of time on the east and north Yorkshire wolds,
25:56because farmers in the area reported seeing the anomalous lights, the structured type crafts.
26:03But then I got speaking to coast guard, fishermen, trawlermen, people walking the coastline,
26:10and they started reporting seeing strange anomalous lights, UFOs, all manner of things.
26:16Going back through the local archives of the newspapers reveals that lots and lots of unexplained phenomena
26:22have been seen and are reported there, not just in recent times, not just since I've been researching it,
26:29but going back decades and decades, there's a long history of strange and anomalous phenomena.
26:35Paul Sinclair has been researching this area for a very, very long time,
26:40and come up with some remarkable video footage of lights in the sky, UFOs, and everything else you can think
26:49of.
26:51Paul and his team set up cameras around the clifftops along the North Sea
26:56to try and document the objects seen near the coastline.
27:00During one night in 2020, what they captured was particularly intriguing.
27:08It was just a typical night by the team.
27:10We'd go up there, we'd set up cameras, and we hoped that the phenomena might present.
27:15Here.
27:16And on this occasion it did.
27:18But these lights, very often they're a bright amber colour, or red, or white,
27:23and the white ones that you can see in the film were actually more of an amber colour.
27:28But the lights present as one light that doesn't fly from anywhere,
27:32and then it punches into a multiple of four, five, and six, switches off.
27:37So luckily we managed to film that little sequence of events on lights filmed off Bempton,
27:43and it's quite exciting when you do actually see these unexplained phenomena.
27:48Sinclair and his team have not only captured strange lights above the sea,
27:53but have also documented orbs of light submerged below the surface of the water.
28:00I was walking along the clifftops with my friend and former police officer Dave Barnes,
28:05and Dave saw the object rise out of the water, stopped momentarily and told me.
28:11I had the camera in hand, started filming, I think soon as it started to move.
28:16Now it seems to turn in and drop into the sea.
28:19It's going to go into water.
28:21It is.
28:23Unbelievable.
28:25So we've got an object that's gone below the surface, risen from the sea,
28:30travelled six miles, and then gone below the surface.
28:33We have footage of objects beneath the surface of the water,
28:37or luminous light beneath the surface,
28:39and we've no explanation for that.
28:42We've filmed that on three occasions.
28:45Paul Sinclair has got videos of these UFOs and lights,
28:50you know, going in to the water.
28:53So that makes you wonder,
28:55is there possibly some underwater UFO base in Yorkshire
28:59that has been there for thousands of years?
29:06In the 1980s, a peaceful community in upstate New York
29:10was transformed into a UFO hotspot
29:14when extraordinary V-shaped objects were seen flying overhead.
29:20But witnesses didn't just report the strange craft in the sky.
29:24They were equally concerned about bizarre sounds
29:27coming from deep underground.
29:35Kent Cliffs, New York, New Year's Eve, 1982.
29:41Shortly before midnight in this small town
29:44just north of New York City,
29:47New Year's Eve revelers are struck by the sight
29:50of an unusual aircraft in the sky.
29:53The ship appears to be as large as a commercial jet,
29:57but has a V-shape, moves slowly, and makes no sound.
30:02The incident is the first in a wave of UFO sightings
30:06that would shake the surrounding area known as the Hudson Valley.
30:11The Hudson Valley is your classic hotspot.
30:16Here, UFOs appeared from 1983 to 1986
30:21and was witnessed by thousands of people.
30:26A triangular boomerang-shaped object, very well lit,
30:31flew very low over the community,
30:33and it was photographed, videotaped,
30:38and it was seen from people from all walks of life
30:41who were sure they saw something strange
30:44that was not from this planet.
30:47This caused people to pull off the side of the road
30:51and actually start calling home,
30:53thinking there was some type of an invasion.
30:55And there were executive doctors, scientists, and so on,
31:01meteorologists, and they all reported something
31:04that they have never seen before.
31:06Over the span of three years,
31:08officials received more than 9,000 reports
31:11from eyewitnesses describing the same V-shaped craft.
31:16Not only was there a UFO sighting in Hudson Valley,
31:19but it came back night after night after night.
31:24These are people who would not normally come forward
31:28to say that they saw a UFO.
31:31Oh, good God.
31:34I don't know.
31:36Not playing.
31:37I'm going to tell you something, honey.
31:39I don't know what the hell it is.
31:41Yet, what they saw was so convincing
31:44and so frightening to them
31:46that they went on record to report what they saw.
31:50I mean, it's just amazing.
31:54During the two-year wave of UFO sightings
31:57in the Hudson Valley,
31:58author Philip Imbronio
31:59investigated the area
32:01on behalf of the Center for UFO Studies,
32:04which was founded by J. Allen Hynek
32:06after his work with Project Blue Book.
32:10Imbronio conducted hundreds of interviews
32:13with residents of the area
32:14and even witnessed the V-shaped craft himself.
32:18This object, whatever it was,
32:21the size of a football field,
32:23came over the highways and hovered
32:26and at times projected down
32:28a brilliant beam of white light.
32:31Usually, UFO researchers don't see the UFO
32:34that they're investigating.
32:35I saw this object three times.
32:38So, it was amazing.
32:42As Imbronio spent months crisscrossing the area,
32:46he noticed something curious.
32:48The volume of mysterious reports during this time
32:51were not only focused on a strange craft in the sky,
32:55but also on bizarre sounds
32:57coming from somewhere deep below ground.
33:03People start to wonder,
33:05why are these hotspots hotspots?
33:08And one explanation is that
33:10what is actually going on
33:11is underneath the ground,
33:13that these hotspots are, in fact,
33:15entrances to vast underground cabins
33:18or even secret bases.
33:21In the Hudson River there,
33:23especially in the 80s,
33:24I spoke to a few researchers,
33:26and they said that the locals
33:27used to hear things coming up from underground,
33:30and they weren't really quite sure what it was,
33:33but they figured there was a base below ground.
33:36They found a military-slash-alien base.
33:42Arguably, the most famous sighting
33:44in the Hudson Valley hotspot
33:45concerned beings from underground,
33:48as was the case
33:50with best-selling horror novelist
33:52Whitley Streber,
33:53who wrote about his own experience
33:55in his book, Communion.
33:58My wife and I had bought a cabin
34:01in the western extreme edge
34:03of the whole Hudson Valley.
34:06And in December of 1985,
34:09I woke up in a room,
34:11not in my bedroom,
34:12in the middle of the night,
34:14and the room was filled
34:15with two kinds of figure,
34:17these willowy figures
34:19with big black eyes
34:20and dark blue short figures.
34:25Then I began to hear a voice say,
34:27what can you do to help you stop screaming?
34:29And I thought, I'm screaming,
34:31and I was screaming.
34:36And the next morning,
34:38I woke up extremely confused
34:40and disturbed
34:41without any real understanding
34:43of what happened to me.
34:45While many presume
34:46that Streber's alien abductors
34:48descended from the skies,
34:50in fact, he described them
34:52as coming up from below.
34:54And their presence
34:56was marked by sounds
34:57deep beneath his mountain cabin.
35:01We used to hear drilling
35:03in underground.
35:08And we could hear this
35:09taking place under the cabin.
35:13The idea that hot spots
35:15mark entrances to the underworld
35:17is a phenomenon
35:18seen across the planet.
35:20This could be what's happening
35:22in, say, Lake Titicaca.
35:23And then you have other places
35:25like, say, Mount Shasta
35:27or certain volcanoes in Mexico
35:30where UFOs are seen
35:32and there's a lot of activity.
35:39When you think about
35:40UFO hotspots,
35:42you might picture
35:43mysterious orbs
35:44above a thick forest
35:45or along a deserted
35:47stretch of highway.
35:49But for the people
35:50of the South American country
35:51of Colombia,
35:53strange craft in the sky
35:55can be seen
35:56in a very unlikely place.

36:09is cruising at 30,000 feet
36:11on a routine flight
36:12en route to Bogotá.
36:15As it approaches
36:16a prominent volcano
36:17called
36:18Nevado del Tolima,
36:20the pilot notices
36:21something strange
36:22in the clouds.
36:25The plane is on autopilot.
36:27When the pilot sees
36:29what's out his cockpit window,
36:31he picks up his phone
36:33and what he filmed
36:34was extraordinary.
36:37It's an object
36:39zipping along
36:40towards his plane.
36:42So the pilot

39:20they specialized
39:21in creating

39:23of little gold objects
39:25that they would put
39:26in the tombs
