00:23Let us start with the big news. Back in May 2025, Netflix officially renewed Bridgerton for
00:29both a 5th and 6th season, so this universe is not going anywhere. Even better, showrunner
00:36Jess Brownell confirmed in February 2026 that the scripts for season 5 are almost done. Production
00:44kicks off in spring 2026, and the team is actively trying to speed things up. Based on all of
00:51that, we're looking at a likely release window of late 2027, or early 2028. Aloys or Francisah,
00:59who's the lead? Netflix has not officially confirmed the lead yet, but realistically,
01:04there are only two options. If it is Eloise's season, the show adapts to Sir Philip with love,
01:11where Marina Thompson passes away, and Eloise begins a correspondence with Philip Crane that
01:17slowly blossoms into romance. Season 4 left her romantic future completely open, so anything
01:23is possible. On the other hand, Francesca's storyline is practically already set up. In the books,
01:30she falls for Michael. Adapted in the show is Michaela. With John's heartbreaking death in season 4,
01:37Francesca is now single, and her chemistry with Michaela has already been teased on screen.
01:43Francesca's season could honestly hit the ground running without much setup needed. Whoever the lead turns out to be,
01:48Claudia Jesse and Hannah Dodd are both set for much bigger roles. Masali Badooza is confirmed to return
01:59as Michaelis Sterling. Expect the full ensemble back. Ruth Jemmel, Nicola Coughlin, Luke Newton,
02:05Joa Ando, Goldo, Rochevel, and more. Jonathan Daly and Simone Ashley are also expected to return.
02:13And, of course, Julie Andrews remains the voice of Lady Whistledown narration. The biggest mystery
02:20carrying over is who the new Lady Whistledown is. Do not expect that reveal in season 5, though.
