13:59I end up leaving my son in the care of his grandparents, and I just never got him back.
14:06A few years later, I ended up meeting somebody, and then I had my three other babies, and then the

14:18Finding him in his cot was the scariest moment of my entire life.
14:25The feelings of losing a child, you can't really find the right words to describe it.
14:36I hid behind a wall of addiction for five years because I didn't want to acknowledge that my child was
14:43gone.
14:44I didn't want to acknowledge that I'd never be able to run my hands through his hair, or—
14:49I couldn't be there for my other children.
14:52I felt like I had failed one of them, and I started to feel as though maybe my children weren't
15:00safe in my care
15:01because I couldn't even protect Alaska.
15:05It absolutely broke me.
15:09I feel like there's a part of me that's, you know, trying to make up for how I f***ed up.
15:19The way I deal with my grief now is I believe that he sits right here, his spirit, and everything
15:31that I look at with my eyes, he's seeing for the first time as well.
