This melt-in-your-mouth baked dessert goes perfectly with a cup of coffee in the morning. In this video, Nicole shows you how to make a homemade Granny Cake that incorporates crushed pineapple directly into the cake batter. Topped with chopped walnuts, brown sugar, and a buttery glaze, this vintage cake is just as good as granny used to make.

00:00Have you ever had granny cake? Simply add flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt to a bowl and whisk.
00:05Then the star of every granny cake, a can of crushed pineapple, along with a couple eggs and
00:08vanilla. Mix it up and add it to a baking pan. Stir together some chopped walnuts and brown sugar
00:12and sprinkle it all over the top, then pop it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
00:17While that's cooking, make a glaze. It's just butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla.
00:21You cook that until it all comes together, and then you'll pour it directly over the hot cake.
00:25It should be thin like this. Let it stand for a while, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy.
