00:00Before we go into this next segment, there's an email that I wanted to read.
00:03I got this just yesterday, even though this took place over the weekend.
00:07But this is from Michael Veltri.
00:11Michael was the first person in line at the Pierre Robert album sale.
00:16Yeah, yeah.
00:17And so he sent me an email.
00:18I just wanted to read this because it's really nice.
00:20He said, hey, man, I've been listening to MMR and Pierre for about 45 years,
00:23and I'm still feeling the effects of Pierre's death.
00:25I absolutely loved the guy.
00:27And when I heard his albums were going up for sale,
00:29I thought I didn't have a shot at getting anything.
00:32When I heard that Vinyl Chickie would be where the sale was,
00:35I thought maybe I do have a shot.
00:37I live in Jankintown, so it's like a three-minute drive to Chickie's.
00:41After attending the event at Rittenhouse Square,
00:43I figured that there would be at least 1,000 people trying for an album.
00:46And I knew that I had to get there early.
00:48I saw online that people were thinking about getting there at like 3 in the morning.
00:52So Friday night, I kissed my wife and daughter goodbye, and off I went.
00:56I arrived at the store at 10.15 p.m.
00:59Wow.
00:59I set up my chair and my radio.
01:01I was first in line.
01:03I couldn't believe it.
01:04After about 30 minutes, I was thinking I was an idiot for getting there that early
01:09until Andy from Westchester showed up and set up his chair.
01:15And we laughed at each other for being so early.
01:18And then we just hung out.
01:19We listened to Bam Bam and MMR until people started to trickle him.
01:22That's great.
01:22As we were sitting there, plenty of people were honking their horns.
01:26They were yelling MMR rocks at us.
01:29Some people actually stopped and just said hello.
01:31Joe from Trevi Restaurant showed up and gave us cannolis to snack on.
01:36Shout out to Trevi's.
01:38He says the cannolis were great.
01:40He said,
01:40I wasn't there to get something valuable.
01:43I was there to get a piece of Pierre.
01:45That was my value.
01:47My album choices were symbolic.
01:50The Cars, Bye Bye Love was the first song that I heard on MMR.
01:54Oh, wow.
01:55And U2 War was when I started to pay attention to the lyrics.
01:59And I also started my own rebellious side.
02:02He said,
02:03People started arriving around 3 a.m.
02:05And the vibe that night and the next day were incredible.
02:07It was definitely a Pierre kind of vibe.
02:10Everyone was friendly, thoughtful, and energetic.
02:13I had a wonderful experience doing this.
02:15I even got to do an interview, a TV interview with Channel 3 News.
02:18Thanks to Andy from Westchester for being such good company.
02:22MMR rocks.
02:23And God bless Pierre Robert.
02:24Yeah.
02:24I love that.
02:25I thought that was a great story.
02:27We were hearing those stories.
02:28And we love the fact that there were countless friendships that were forged in line at that event.
02:33And that, I mean, how much more Pierre can you get?
