00:00:04Oh, I'm really hungry.
00:00:07I mean, we need food.
00:00:12Goddamn.
00:00:14Been like almost three weeks now.
00:00:17My body's just deteriorating.
00:00:19This is the longest I've ever gone without food in my life.
00:00:21My body's starting to like really kind of shut down a bit.
00:00:27We're just so, so, so weak.
00:00:33Why the did I miss that?
00:00:35We need food more than we've ever needed it in our entire lives.
00:00:41What are we going to do?
00:00:43Did you guys ever watch a movie with the Australian rugby team?
00:00:46I think they crashed into Alps or something.
00:00:48Oh, yeah, I saw that movie. They had to eat each other.
00:00:50Yeah. Yes.
00:00:51Are you that hungry?
00:00:53I'll give anything a try to get some protein in.
00:00:55Which one of us is going to go first?
00:01:11I don't know. It sounds like kind of a dumb plan now that I say it out loud.
00:01:18I'm just not sure anybody can survive here for 21 days.
00:01:23Oh, my God.
00:01:25Help!
00:01:25Help!
00:01:26Help!
00:01:26Two strangers.
00:01:27Help!
00:01:29Help!
00:01:29Help!
00:01:31Help!
00:01:35No water.
00:01:37Ah!
00:01:3821 days.
00:01:40Don't tap.
00:01:42Die first.
00:01:44Naked and Afraid.
00:02:03That's some thick out there, man.
00:02:05This is gonna be hard to navigate.
00:02:07It's really thick, dense vegetation.
00:02:09You can't see two or three feet in front of you.
00:02:12So, the wildlife here, you'll never see them coming.
00:02:16It is totally crazy to be thinking
00:02:17that I'm gonna be out here naked for 21 days.
00:02:21Every minute will be a challenge.
00:02:23And it's a little chilly right now, too.
00:02:25And so, I'm just thinking about how this could either
00:02:27get warmer during the day or a lot colder at night.
00:02:32Located on the southwest coast of Africa,
00:02:35Namibia, and the Kalahari Desert
00:02:37are one of the most sparsely populated areas in the world.
00:02:41It is also one of the driest,
00:02:44averaging just 10 inches of rain annually.
00:02:47The vast red sand of the Kalahari extends over 350,000 square miles
00:02:52and is nearly devoid of natural surface water.
00:02:57Now, as winter approaches, water becomes even more scarce,
00:03:01forcing Namibia's wildlife to compete for a dwindling supply.
00:03:05Those that are unable to find water do not survive the season.
00:03:12I guess it's time to get naked.
00:03:18When my partner learns that I've tried this challenge twice
00:03:22and failed twice, they're gonna be like,
00:03:23oh, great, he's gonna leave me stranded out here.
00:03:25I can't wait to show him different.
00:03:27All right, let's see if I can go find another naked person out here.
00:03:30Let's do this, I'm ready.
00:03:35Hey.
00:03:36I see my partner.
00:03:37How are you doing?
00:03:39How's it going?
00:03:40How are you?
00:03:41I'm good.
00:03:41I'm Miley.
00:03:42Yeah, absolutely.
00:03:44Nice to meet you.
00:03:45This is very exciting.
00:03:46I know, right?
00:03:47I'm liking the look of this.
00:03:48I think you look tough.
00:03:49I'm feeling good about this.
00:03:51Let's do it.
00:03:51I really want this 21.
00:03:52Do you want it?
00:03:53Hell yeah, I want it.
00:03:53I know, I'm hungry, man.
00:03:54I'm really hungry for it.
00:03:55I hope I want it.
00:03:56This is my third time trying it.
00:03:58OK.
00:03:58I've tapped out twice.
00:04:00The first challenge in Mexico, I did prep the best I could,
00:04:03but running into that damn Chechen tree, it destroyed me.
00:04:06Worse than poison ivy and poison ivy.
00:04:08Mentally, I just broke.
00:04:09And the same thing in Bulgaria.
00:04:11So I'm done.
00:04:13I'm just done.
00:04:15I've been spending more time outdoors.
00:04:17I can hunt.
00:04:18I can track.
00:04:19I love fishing.
00:04:20I have no doubt that I'm prepared for this.
00:04:22This is my last and final chance.
00:04:24I'm ready to rock and roll, ready to kick Africa's ass,
00:04:27get that monkey off my back or whatever you want to call it,
00:04:30and just let's just do this, right?
00:04:31Yes, no, this is going to be a good partnership.
00:04:34Hell yeah.
00:04:34I really don't have much concern that Brandon has tapped twice.
00:04:38I'm more concerned about how he's feeling going into this
00:04:40challenge right now where we are.
00:04:42And he seems like he's got great energy.
00:04:44And so that's all I'm focused on.
00:04:47Just first time doing this?
00:04:48It is not.
00:04:48I did 14 days in Mexico.
00:04:50My two-week challenge in Mexico was a fan challenge.
00:04:54The weather was beautiful.
00:04:55We had some protein.
00:04:57We got a shrimp.
00:04:59We had a very positive experience.
00:05:02We made it.
00:05:03This time around, I want it hard and tough.
00:05:06I am walking to my morning shift at the hospital.
00:05:10Because as a trauma ICU nurse, I ask patients to do impossible things.
00:05:15And I also have that in me.
00:05:17Are you ready to do this?
00:05:18Let's do it.
00:05:18I see our bags.
00:05:20I see our bags.
00:05:25Me not completing the previous two challenges didn't faze her at all.
00:05:28That's a big relief because one of my biggest fears out here is letting my partner down.
00:05:33This is your bow?
00:05:34Yes, ma'am.
00:05:35I am blown away that we have arrows and a bow that you know how to use.
00:05:40I have a very nice machete.
00:05:44In addition to their personal survival items, due to the intensely cold winter temperatures,
00:05:50they receive two springbok hides.
00:05:52With twine on them.
00:05:53It's actually going to be seriously cold.
00:05:56I mean, it's winter.
00:05:57As well as the standard fire starter, pot to boil water, and meth.
00:06:02I do see water.
00:06:03Yes.
00:06:03Boom.
00:06:04Yep.
00:06:05It looks like we're here.
00:06:06And we'll be extracting here.
00:06:08So logically, this should be our stop.
00:06:10Awesome.
00:06:11This is going to be fun.
00:06:11I know.
00:06:12I can't wait.
00:06:12I can't wait.
00:06:13Yeah.
00:06:14All right.
00:06:15Well, are you ready?
00:06:15Let's head out.
00:06:16Let's go.
00:06:17Miley and Brandon will trek north through the Kalahari Desert nearly four miles to reach
00:06:23the closest water source.
00:06:25They must remain vigilant for aggressive herds of African elephants that have become stressed
00:06:30from the dry season's lack of water and resources.
00:06:42Oh.
00:06:43Watch out.
00:06:43That's a thorn right there.
00:06:44Oh, thorns.
00:06:44Yep.
00:06:47Oh, what is this?
00:06:48It's a big hole.
00:06:50What made that?
00:06:51An elephant.
00:06:53Oh.
00:06:54So now we've got to keep our heads on a swivel for, you know, for elephants.
00:06:57Yep.
00:06:57They could be right there.
00:07:05Wow.
00:07:06It's so wild out here.
00:07:07There's not a lot of resources around us, and it was much colder this morning, but now
00:07:12I'm feeling the heat.
00:07:14We've got to find water.
00:07:16We have a lot of work in front of us.
00:07:18We've got to build a boma.
00:07:19We've got to get fire going.
00:07:20These are the things that are preoccupying my mind right now.
00:07:23Yeah, I see it.
00:07:25You see water?
00:07:26Yeah, I see water.
00:07:26No way.
00:07:27Yeah.
00:07:28Pretty big water hole.
00:07:29Oh, my gosh.
00:07:30Oh, yeah, I see.
00:07:32Yeah, that'll do, right?
00:07:34That's big enough for us.
00:07:43I'm back.
00:07:44I'm here.
00:07:45I can't believe I'm doing another one of these challenges.
00:07:49It feels like such an honor to get to do it here in Namibia.
00:07:52I can't wait to complete my 21-day challenge.
00:07:57It feels so good to be back.
00:07:59It's so good to be back in the challenge.
00:08:01I'm so excited.
00:08:02I'm also nervous.
00:08:04But, yeah, I can't wait to get started.
00:08:09Hey.
00:08:10Hello.
00:08:11Another naked person.
00:08:13Hi.
00:08:14Hi.
00:08:14Nice to meet you.
00:08:15You look familiar.
00:08:15Yeah.
00:08:16I'm Jolie.
00:08:17I think I've seen you before.
00:08:18Yeah.
00:08:18I did my 14-day challenge in the Philippines.
00:08:21Awesome.
00:08:21I saw you.
00:08:22Okay.
00:08:22You did so well.
00:08:23We have fire.
00:08:24Oh, that feels good.
00:08:26My first challenge was 14 days.
00:08:28I'm going to dig in a seat well.
00:08:30Water.
00:08:31It's fresh.
00:08:32Awesome.
00:08:33What surprised me most was my ability to figure out how to do things I had never done before.
00:08:39We did it!
00:08:41Yes!
00:08:42What was your name again?
00:08:43Kyle.
00:08:44I'm from South Africa.
00:08:45Awesome.
00:08:46That's a good advantage.
00:08:47Yeah.
00:08:47I have done this before.
00:08:49Oh.
00:08:50Eight years ago.
00:08:51Oh.
00:08:51In Honduras.
00:08:52Okay.
00:08:52So this is not my first time.
00:08:54But I tapped on day 10.
00:08:56Okay.
00:08:59It just gets more difficult.
00:09:01You're wet.
00:09:02You're cold.
00:09:03So I was struggling.
00:09:04And my mental game failed me.
00:09:05It was an absolute nightmare.
00:09:07I'm tapping out, yeah?
00:09:08When you walk away, it's just instant regret.
00:09:11I've been living with regret for many years now.
00:09:13So this is your redemption.
00:09:14This is my redemption.
00:09:15Yeah, I'm excited.
00:09:16Awesome.
00:09:16We're going to get your redemption, and we're going to get my 21, and we've got this.
00:09:20I think these are our bags over here.
00:09:22Let's have a look.
00:09:24I'm super excited.
00:09:25Let's do it.
00:09:26Let's do it.
00:09:27You bow hunt?
00:09:28I'm pretty comfortable with my bow.
00:09:30Makes me so happy, Kyle.
00:09:31I was so hopeful I'd have a partner that would have a bow out here.
00:09:34I just met my partner.
00:09:36I could not be happier.
00:09:38He admitted that, you know, his last challenge, that he struggled with the mindset stuff, and that
00:09:43is my biggest strength.
00:09:44So I know there's no way we're not going to make the 21.
00:09:48I'm just like over the moon.
00:09:49I have watched the challenge.
00:09:50I know what she's capable of.
00:09:52I'm so excited.
00:09:53She is absolutely amazing.
00:09:54I wouldn't want to be paired up with anyone else other than her.
00:09:57One second.
00:09:59Devil thorns.
00:10:00Yeah, I'll just try to step light.
00:10:12Bones.
00:10:12Look at this.
00:10:14A lot of big bones.
00:10:15These bones are massive.
00:10:17Probably giraffe.
00:10:18Yeah.
00:10:18Too small to be an elephant.
00:10:19Mm-hmm.
00:10:21I wonder what got it.
00:10:24Wow.
00:10:26There's shade here.
00:10:27Do you think something sleeps here?
00:10:30I mean, it's all matted down.
00:10:31Something probably does sleep here.
00:10:33We'll shore up the sides.
00:10:34I like it.
00:10:35We have enough overhead.
00:10:37I really like it.
00:10:37It feels really protected.
00:10:39Yeah.
00:10:39It just looks like it's going to be home.
00:10:45The boma is critical out here.
00:10:47Because it is the first line of defense between you and everything else out here.
00:10:52So it is critical that we get this done by nighttime.
00:10:55Because at nighttime, these animals are going to come alive.
00:10:57It's going to take some work.
00:10:58I mean, it's just being hurt out here.
00:11:00Oh!
00:11:01Dude, nice.
00:11:03Charlie, look.
00:11:05Water.
00:11:05Oh, my gosh.
00:11:06It looks beautiful, too.
00:11:07I can just jump in there.
00:11:09Because it's so hot.
00:11:11Ah!
00:11:13Wow.
00:11:15It's quite long, eh?
00:11:16Yeah.
00:11:17OK.
00:11:17What do we call home?
00:11:19Do you want to stay close to the water?
00:11:20Do you want to move a little bit up?
00:11:21I think that we'll be warmer if we stay a little bit higher.
00:11:25OK.
00:11:25Like, over there.
00:11:27Yeah, that's my first kind of thought.
00:11:32This bush right here, is there any way you can hand me that in?
00:11:35I definitely can.
00:11:37Got it.
00:11:39Nice.
00:11:41Do you want to take a break, build a fire, and get some water?
00:11:44Yup.
00:11:45I am starting to cram.
00:11:57For me, everything rides on this fire tonight.
00:12:00If we're here in winter, it gets cold at night.
00:12:03Without that fire, we're not going to make it.
00:12:05Whew!
00:12:06I didn't burn my beard, did I?
00:12:08No.
00:12:08OK.
00:12:08The beard looks on point.
00:12:10OK.
00:12:11That's all that matters.
00:12:19Trying to find all the thorns.
00:12:21We're definitely going to feel that when we're trying to sleep on this ground tonight.
00:12:24Feels good.
00:12:25It already feels like home.
00:12:27How are you doing, Kyle?
00:12:29Yeah, I'm OK.
00:12:30It's a really good sign that when Kyle and I work together, we actually can accomplish our
00:12:35goals very quickly, better than on our own.
00:12:38You got it?
00:12:39Yeah.
00:12:39What's up?
00:12:39My partner in my first challenge in the Philippines.
00:12:42Whew.
00:12:43I'm exhausted.
00:12:45He physically could not do a lot.
00:12:48It did make my challenge a lot harder.
00:12:54This time, I'm so, so happy with my partner.
00:13:01Yeah.
00:13:03I never saw this in Honduras.
00:13:05We have fire.
00:13:07Yes!
00:13:16We are very cold.
00:13:19It's chilly as heck.
00:13:22Oh, my God.
00:13:22Cold?
00:13:25It's going to get colder, right?
00:13:27Because it's winter.
00:13:27It's winter.
00:13:28Cool.
00:13:29Yeah.
00:13:30Sam.
00:13:31It's cold.
00:13:35We're freezing.
00:13:36All we have is fire and those two skins, and we are spooning it up, which I'm very, very
00:13:44grateful that we can do.
00:13:47It's cold.
00:13:48It's no joke out here.
00:13:55Cold.
00:13:56My legs are freezing.
00:13:59I need to warm up.
00:14:01It's very cold.
00:14:04You can see my breath.
00:14:12Yeah.
00:14:13Is that a rule?
00:14:15There's something on sign up there, man.
00:14:20Did you hear that?
00:14:21Yes.
00:14:23It could be elephants.
00:14:31It's really close by.
00:14:33It's really close by.
00:14:38My heart is beating really fast.
00:14:41Beaking, yet branches breaking.
00:14:42Elephants really close by.
00:14:45Alabama.
00:14:47Very, very close to us.
00:14:51Very, very close to us.
00:15:04How about that night?
00:15:05How about them elephants?
00:15:07That was crazy.
00:15:08I mean, you're just like, what is going on?
00:15:12They were like right here.
00:15:14I'm familiar with elephants.
00:15:15I've lived around them my whole life.
00:15:17I know how dangerous and destructive that can be.
00:15:20It's extremely frightening.
00:15:22Literally, like, just around the corner, man.
00:15:25Yeah.
00:15:25It woke us up.
00:15:26We were definitely awake after that, and it was a bit scary.
00:15:31Oh, my gosh.
00:15:40It just makes it so much more real to see their tracks here.
00:15:54It is the morning.
00:15:56We made it through the night.
00:15:57Yep.
00:15:58We're alive.
00:15:59Today, we want to walk around and explore.
00:16:01So the plan is?
00:16:03Making shoes.
00:16:04Absolutely.
00:16:05We can't get firewood.
00:16:06We can't move around unless we have shoes.
00:16:13You know, historically, the Bushmen all the way out here, they stayed in constant movement with the wildlife.
00:16:20Us not having shoes pretty much hinders our ability to continue and keep up with the wildlife.
00:16:26What up, girl?
00:16:27Hell, yeah.
00:16:28That actually looks rad.
00:16:30Awesome.
00:16:31Yeah.
00:16:32Damn.
00:16:37So how's your feetsies?
00:16:38I feel like I could do 40 days right now if I could have these shoes.
00:16:42Yeah, night and day.
00:16:42Just delighted.
00:16:52I can't see anything.
00:16:56Plan for the day is to kind of scout out the area, see what the resources look like.
00:17:00Hmm.
00:17:01I'm thinking that there's something in his nest.
00:17:06I'm just trying to figure out how to get to it.
00:17:08I had one branch with three on.
00:17:10This is going to be tough.
00:17:12Give it a go.
00:17:15See, you know, if I can chop down a branch, a bit of protein, some eggs in there, you know,
00:17:21we might have dinner.
00:17:22Okay.
00:17:28Kyle?
00:17:29Yeah.
00:17:31Oh, my gosh.
00:17:34Good mission.
00:17:36I'm proud of you.
00:17:38Well, let's see what we got here.
00:17:40I don't see anything.
00:17:43I don't see anything.
00:17:47Nothing.
00:17:49Unfortunately, no eggs, but we've got a hell of a lot of tinder.
00:17:54What a bust.
00:18:03As a hunter, you have to process the land.
00:18:06So I'm just watching the water hole and looking at the wildlife until I figure out, you know, what animals
00:18:11are here and where they're going.
00:18:14Look right there.
00:18:15There's something in the water.
00:18:16It's something just swam across, stopped, and then it went down.
00:18:19Might be a terrapin in here.
00:18:21There he is.
00:18:28Oh, I went right over the top of him.
00:18:32They only stick their head up about that much.
00:18:34So that's my visual.
00:18:36There he is.
00:18:39He went down as soon as I pulled back.
00:18:44There he is.
00:18:48I know I hit it.
00:18:49I mean, that was pretty much right there on him.
00:18:52I heard the thud of the arrow on the shell.
00:18:54The shell was just too hard, and the arrow just bounced off of it.
00:19:02That one went right over the top of him.
00:19:04I'm hunting in Africa.
00:19:05That is cool.
00:19:06My dad was a serious hunter.
00:19:08And growing up, we'd watch Discovery Channel documentaries.
00:19:10And we would sit there, and he'd be like, how cool would it be to be out here?
00:19:13Well, guess what, Dad? I'm here.
00:19:15I couldn't go anywhere without him telling every single person my son was on Naked and Afraid.
00:19:21He didn't care that I didn't complete it.
00:19:22Just the fact that I attempted this challenge, he thought that was awesome.
00:19:27My father passed away from suicide a couple of years ago.
00:19:31The fact that I'm out here doing this again, and that I'm not going to give up, I think he
00:19:35would be proud of that.
00:19:36I owe it to him to do this.
00:19:42Trying to shoot a terrapin that's in the water with a bow and arrow is very hard.
00:19:48I'm going to have to be very, very patient.
00:19:51It's not going to come easy out here.
00:19:52There's two more.
00:19:53Two just popped up.
00:19:54Like, it's like they're taunting me.
00:20:10It was pretty quiet around the boma last night.
00:20:12Yeah, I feel good.
00:20:13It is day three.
00:20:16We've gotten through night two.
00:20:18We're rested now.
00:20:19I can't wait to see what today brings.
00:20:21I'm going to see if possibly get an opportunity for a hunt in.
00:20:24I'm starting to get hungry.
00:20:26I could do with some breakfast.
00:20:30There's going to be some animals down here now.
00:20:31You think so?
00:20:32I heard them.
00:20:33Sit.
00:20:38Watch, watch, watch.
00:20:39It's hitting my bow.
00:20:43It's hitting my bow.
00:20:44It's hitting my bow.
00:21:04Can you go get it?
00:21:07Yeah, that.
00:21:08Maybe they'll hang out.
00:21:19Go on.
00:21:19They just ran away.
00:21:23Super bummed.
00:21:24Literally, that was an opportunity missed.
00:21:26They were, like, within shooting distance from me.
00:21:28The whole time you were gone, they were here.
00:21:30The lesson I learned today is that I shouldn't go anywhere without my bow and arrows.
00:21:34Oh.
00:21:35It's okay.
00:21:35Now we know.
00:21:37I missed opportunity, unfortunately.
00:21:39But hopefully, I can make that up.
00:21:41This is how we learn.
00:21:42Don't be too hard on yourself.
00:21:44Yeah.
00:21:54I would be lying to you if I told you I wasn't hungry.
00:21:57We're exhausted.
00:21:58We're running on fumes.
00:22:00We need to get real food on the table.
00:22:03Are you noodling?
00:22:04Trying to.
00:22:05Okay, so Terrapin game plan.
00:22:07No more arrows, right?
00:22:08Just by hand.
00:22:09Just by hand.
00:22:11Redemption's not worth it.
00:22:12If it's easy.
00:22:13In order for this to be a true redemption, I want to catch and provide a meal.
00:22:19Nourishment for myself and my partner out here.
00:22:21If you see any of the Terrapins, point them out to me.
00:22:24Okay.
00:22:27Brandon.
00:22:29This one right there.
00:22:32It's a big boy.
00:22:38Trying to move slowly towards them is kind of impossible.
00:22:42This stupid Terrapin's been eluding me this entire time.
00:22:56I want to come back unless I've got blood on my hands.
00:22:59That's happening today.
00:23:01Yeah.
00:23:05I found a developed blind.
00:23:08And I need to cover this up really, really well.
00:23:11I don't want the animal to see me through the blind.
00:23:14Any movement, you know, will catch their attention and they'll be off.
00:23:18So I'm adding a bit more.
00:23:22I think it's job done.
00:23:24Now I'm seeing these birds and all I can think about is just protein.
00:23:28They seem to be coming in for some mineral in the soil.
00:23:31But that distance, it's like Robin Hood splitting an arrow.
00:23:36But that possibility is something it will take.
00:23:47I just took my first shot at a pigeon.
00:23:49I missed it about so much.
00:24:02Yeah, it's been tough, but I still remain hopeful.
00:24:19Good luck, girl.
00:24:20I believe in you.
00:24:22I would love to catch a Terrapin.
00:24:24That would feel really, really good.
00:24:26Because we don't have anything to eat right now.
00:24:29This environment is tougher than I expected, but it is what I came for.
00:24:33And this is what I really want to prove that I can survive.
00:24:38My dad did teach me how to build minnow traps.
00:24:41It's not the same thing, but it's worth a shot.
00:24:44I'm doing a little modification because I can't drive a school of Terrapin in here.
00:24:49Miley's improvised trap is formed by digging a shallow V-shaped inlet.
00:24:54Bait is used to encourage Terrapin to enter the channel.
00:24:58Although the trap must be manned to be effective,
00:25:00this design allows the hunter to remain on land, quickening their strike.
00:25:06It's worth a shot.
00:25:12For Terrapin bait, we have a lot of corn crickets everywhere.
00:25:15And Terrapins are carnivorous, so I think that we should try to use them for bait.
00:25:21Sorry. I'm sorry.
00:25:23You have a greater purpose to get me a Terrapin.
00:25:35I know. It's hard to beat a corn cricket.
00:25:40My plan is to put the corn crickets and all their guts in my little trap.
00:25:46And I'm hoping a Terrapin will smell the guts and come eat it.
00:25:55I am on a Terrapin stakeout.
00:25:58I was just really, really hoping that if I stayed still and I was very patient,
00:26:03one might come try and eat.
00:26:06No luck yet.
00:26:13See you.
00:26:14Bye.
00:26:17You got two really grumpy survivalists in here this morning.
00:26:20We're hangry, but we know what we have to do.
00:26:25Today our strategy is divide and conquer.
00:26:27So Kyle's gone to the hunting blind and I'm going to do foraging.
00:26:32I've got to find something for us today just to cheer us up.
00:26:35We really want to eat.
00:26:39Hell yeah.
00:26:42So this is wild spinach.
00:26:45Kyle and I haven't tapped into this resource yet, so I'm really excited.
00:26:51Okay.
00:26:53I know that that big kill is coming, but we're hungry.
00:26:56We haven't had substantial food.
00:26:58So spinach tonight, it's not going to have a lot of calories,
00:27:01but it's going to have nutrients, which is what we need out here.
00:27:12Boiled spinach.
00:27:13Yeah, and it tastes unbelievable.
00:27:17Look at that.
00:27:19It does to have warm food in our bellies.
00:27:23It was absolutely worth all the effort.
00:27:25Amazing.
00:27:26Helps to not feel so starving.
00:27:30But it won't be long.
00:27:32Kyle's going to get us some meat very soon.
00:27:34Kill real soon.
00:27:43We've been eating some wild spinach, so I think that has definitely made a difference.
00:27:48But I didn't want us to come here and survive this.
00:27:51I wanted us to thrive through this.
00:27:53I just feel the pressure.
00:27:54I'm so determined now, like I've never been before.
00:27:57I want that victory.
00:27:59I don't care what it's going to take.
00:28:05There's a lot to be us coming down the riverbed.
00:28:10Joe.
00:28:12Joe.
00:28:15Oh my God.
00:28:16Don't move.
00:28:17Don't move.
00:28:18Don't move.
00:28:19Don't move.
00:28:19Don't move.
00:28:20Don't move.
00:28:21Here he comes.
00:28:22I don't think he's seen us.
00:28:24He's a bit of a lone ranger.
00:28:26He's walking on this side, which will be close to my blinds.
00:28:29I'm going to stay here.
00:28:31Keep quiet.
00:28:31I hope I can get a shot then.
00:28:33I'm ready to take a shot.
00:28:35This is a really sizeable animal.
00:28:37So much is just hanging on this shot.
00:28:39So much is at stake.
00:28:40For me, it feels like do or die.
00:28:56There's a boat to be us coming down the riverbed.
00:29:00Here he comes.
00:29:07Oh my God.
00:29:12Don't move.
00:29:16Don't move.
00:29:20Just such a shot.
00:29:22Just like beyond disappointed.
00:29:25This would have fed us for days.
00:29:28It's like you can't miss a shot like that.
00:29:31That was a beautiful animal.
00:29:34I won't get that opportunity again.
00:29:37It was like perfect.
00:29:39I just don't know.
00:29:41Well, you have a lot of pressure on you.
00:29:43It is a lot of pressure, but it's no excuse.
00:29:47I don't want to have excuses.
00:29:48I just want to kind of get the job done.
00:29:50Okay.
00:29:50You know, I think when you're in a situation like this without food, I think every moment that is a
00:29:56missed moment is really important and I have difficulty kind of overcoming that.
00:30:00I feel like so down.
00:30:01Please don't get down on yourself.
00:30:03You got to move on because you're going to carry that stress and that pressure into your next shot.
00:30:08Don't have those missed shots stack against you.
00:30:11Have them stack for you.
00:30:12Okay.
00:30:13It's all opportunity.
00:30:14Okay.
00:30:16Right now, I'm just trying to be encouraging to him, but we've had no significant food.
00:30:21I'm really not liking this location.
00:30:23The resources are not great.
00:30:25And hunting in general here has proven to be very difficult.
00:30:29Kyle's struggling.
00:30:31We both are.
00:30:32I'm definitely ready to move on.
00:30:34We've just made this a home.
00:30:37Moving to a new location could change everything for us.
00:30:41There is a bit of nervousness on my part in terms of what we will face.
00:30:45Yeah.
00:30:46We don't know what we're walking into, but migrating gives us an opportunity to find new resources.
00:30:52Maybe more animals.
00:30:54You never know.
00:30:55We need to get closer to extraction anyway, so I like the idea of being able to break it up
00:31:00this way.
00:31:03Let's do it.
00:31:13Let's do one last push today.
00:31:15Try to get this terrapin.
00:31:17I built a little terrapin trap.
00:31:19I just don't think it's going to be successful.
00:31:22But Brendan and I are going to work together.
00:31:25It's absolutely critical.
00:31:26We get something to eat so it can fuel us.
00:31:29Look.
00:31:30Yeah, let's get in.
00:31:32How long can terrapins hold their breath?
00:31:34I don't think it can be more than like 30 minutes.
00:31:36You see their head just jump on.
00:31:45Oh, .
00:32:03Molly.
00:32:14I got dinner that is big enough to eat
00:32:28I got a terrapin small little dude but he'll feed me and hurt
00:32:32bare-handed too bare-handed no arrows no nothing just bare-handed
00:32:37we're gonna eat god dinner is served we needed the win today we needed this
00:32:45win just want to say thank you buddy yeah we're very appreciative like for real

00:33:26this

00:33:45migration day let's do it okay knife you got the fire starter got it and I got the map let's
00:33:53have a look
00:33:54yeah let's take a look okay so we are here and now we'll move to the next water hole it
00:34:01looks like
00:34:01we'll have to go out this way go left and then kind of head towards a new water hole see
00:34:06if we can
00:34:06find it okay cool let's go let's do it Kyle and Jolie will travel three miles west toward a large
00:34:13watering
00:34:14hole to get there they must navigate through punishing thorny bushveld a favorite habitat of the deadly puff
00:34:22water he'll be Perry
00:34:23there we go
00:34:31everything is looking different here definitely
00:34:36a different top of terrain here definitely watch for snakes in these grasses
00:34:41for sure
00:34:48It's opening up here.
00:34:50Yep.
00:34:52Another water source.
00:34:54Oh, wow.
00:34:55What do you think?
00:34:56It does look pretty freaking homey.
00:34:59We've got to figure out where we're going to sleep.
00:35:01We can take a walk around.
00:35:03Okay.
00:35:11Hang on.
00:35:13I see naked people.
00:35:15No, you do not.
00:35:15Not even joking.
00:35:16No, you do not.
00:35:17Hey!
00:35:18No!
00:35:19Shut the...
00:35:20Oh, my God!
00:35:21No way!
00:35:22Get the f*** out of here.
00:35:24Yes!
00:35:30Hang on.
00:35:32I see naked people.
00:35:33No, you do not.
00:35:34Not even joking.
00:35:34No, you do not.
00:35:36Hey!
00:35:37No!

00:35:38Oh, my God!
00:35:40No way!
00:35:41Get the f*** out of here.
00:35:43Yes!
00:35:44What's up?
00:35:45Give me a f*** out of here, brother.
00:35:47What's going on?
00:35:49How you doing?
00:35:50Hi!
00:35:50How's it going, brother?
00:35:52I'm finally.
00:35:53Kyle, I'm ready, by the way.
00:35:54Oh, my God.
00:35:55I'm so glad to meet you.
00:35:56I am very happy to see you.
00:35:57I'm playing it, man.
00:35:58I'm sorry.
00:36:00I'm finally.
00:36:01F*** yeah.
00:36:01You got to survive it.
00:36:02Woo!
00:36:03Hi, man.
00:36:03You're in it, bro.
00:36:04Have you guys done this before?
00:36:05This is my second.
00:36:06I'm on my 21.
00:36:07You're third.
00:36:08Yeah.
00:36:08I did a 14-day.
00:36:10Same.
00:36:10Same.
00:36:1114, and now it's 20.
00:36:12I was in...
00:36:13Oh, how long ago?
00:36:14Eight years ago.
00:36:14He's a redemption.
00:36:15I'm a redemption.
00:36:16I'm 10 years ago.
00:36:1710 years ago.
00:36:17Redemption?
00:36:18Redemption.
00:36:19First impressions of Kyle, hell yeah, man.
00:36:22He's on the same road I am.
00:36:23Like, we are on a redemption road,
00:36:26and now you have four people willing to go through hell
00:36:29to get this done.
00:36:30Let's go.
00:36:31How is your boma?
00:36:32Boma's nice.
00:36:33Is there room for two more, though?
00:36:34There's room for two more.
00:36:36100%.
00:36:36I brought my boma in there, right?
00:36:37Yeah, I got mine, too.
00:36:38We do.
00:36:38I got a blind built down there already.
00:36:40Oh, do you?
00:36:40Yeah.
00:36:41Oh, you have so many to hunt with.
00:36:42So we haven't eaten much.
00:36:43Nothing?
00:36:44No, we haven't eaten much.
00:36:45We really have better spinach.
00:36:46The wild spinach.
00:36:46So now you guys are going to get meat,
00:36:48and we're actually going to have a meal here.
00:36:51Well, let's see your boma.
00:36:52Yeah, maybe come in.
00:36:55Absolutely.
00:36:56The advantage of having more people
00:36:57is the collective mind.
00:36:59Everybody brings a little bit of something to the table,
00:37:01and I'm just looking forward to the next few days with them.
00:37:04Fingers crossed we get some food on the table.
00:37:07I think that would just cheer everybody up.
00:37:08We need it.
00:37:09I call top bunk.
00:37:18Okay, it's our first night in boma number two
00:37:23with Brandon and Miley.
00:37:26And boy, are we so happy to be together.
00:37:28I was so happy to see y'all.
00:37:30So, so, so excited.
00:37:32I'm a social butterfly.
00:37:33The more people, the better.
00:37:35I can't wait wearing that blonde.
00:37:38We're going to kill something.
00:37:39It's going to happen.
00:37:40It's going to happen.
00:37:42We're going to eat.
00:37:43Mm.
00:37:50Should we get the show on the road?
00:37:51Let's do it, man.
00:37:52Me and Kyle are going to go down to the hunting blind.
00:37:55Don't come home without food.
00:37:57Yes, ma'am.
00:37:58Yes, ma'am.
00:37:59Yes, ma'am.
00:38:01No pressure.
00:38:04Brandon and I, we're going to head down to the blind.
00:38:07We thought maybe two arrows would increase the possibility
00:38:09of coming home with a kill.
00:38:11Oh.
00:38:12Take it again.
00:38:13Take it.
00:38:13Mm-hmm.
00:38:23Yeah.
00:38:24All right.
00:38:24Do we have shots together?
00:38:26Yeah.
00:38:26Like we shoot together?
00:38:27We'll time it together.
00:38:27We'll time it together.
00:38:28We'll time it together.
00:38:29So we have a better chance.
00:38:30It's better.
00:38:31Oh, cool.
00:38:31We got this, man.
00:38:33Bring home the bacon.
00:38:34Yeah.
00:38:36I'm going this way because there's a lot of thorns that way.
00:38:39While the boys are down at the blind, Jolie and I are going to go get firewood and water
00:38:45and walk around and see what's out in our new environment.
00:39:00This is what I think it is.
00:39:01He's coming.
00:39:03He's coming.
00:39:08He's coming.
00:39:10Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:39:12He's coming.
00:39:13Wait.
00:39:18He's coming.
00:39:19Wait.
00:39:21Wait, wait.
00:39:23Wait.
00:39:24Wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:39:27Calm down.
00:39:29Stay calm.
00:39:30I'm gonna stay.
00:39:31Just stay calm.
00:39:32I was.
00:39:34Shh.
00:39:34Don't worry.
00:39:35He was starting to turn before.
00:39:37Just stay calm.
00:39:38Shh, shh, shh, I'm sorry.
00:39:41No, don't be sorry.
00:39:44This is a nice size too.
00:39:46You don't get a lot of opportunities out here.
00:39:48So when you do get the opportunity,
00:39:50you've got to stay calm, take a shot,
00:39:52and then hopefully come home with a kill.
00:39:55You would have been so delicious.
00:39:58Oh, man.
00:39:59This cost us a meal.
00:40:03This cost us a meal, man.
00:40:05I had a mental fail with the warthog.
00:40:07It came within 10 yards,
00:40:10and so instinctually I jumped up and fired a shot
00:40:14that I was not ready for
00:40:16because the warthog had not even stopped to drink yet,
00:40:19and I missed.
00:40:20I blew the opportunity for food.
00:40:23Any animals?
00:40:25Yeah.
00:40:26This one, the warthog.
00:40:28I threw a shot on him when he came up
00:40:30as close as we can get him, and I missed.
00:40:33Like, it cost us a meal that probably could have
00:40:36last us until the very end.
00:40:38So that's a weight that, you know,
00:40:42that's heavy on my shoulders on that one.
00:40:45I screwed us on that, and it's frustrating.
00:41:05Here.
00:41:06I'll take it.
00:41:07I'll take it down.
00:41:08The boys are down at the blind.
00:41:09They're hunting every day.
00:41:11But Jodi and I, we're doing these really hard tasks
00:41:14that don't sound as sexy,
00:41:16but they're absolutely critical to our survival.
00:41:18Like, we have to have water.
00:41:19We have to have firewood.
00:41:20We have to empty out the ash so we can be warm.
00:41:23But it's just, it's very labor-intensive,
00:41:25especially when you haven't eaten for as long as we have.
00:41:27It just, it really will, it'll take it out of you.
00:41:32Ooh, lightheaded.
00:41:39Just nothing.
00:41:47Are they staying down there till sundown?
00:41:50I think so.
00:41:50Well, it sucks because we need help with firewood still, too.
00:41:55It's just like, it's a lot, you know?
00:41:58Yeah, no .
00:42:15Everybody's really getting hungry now.
00:42:18I'm just gonna see if I can just scoop the mud out
00:42:21onto the embankment
00:42:23and see if there's anything flopping around in it.
00:42:26Sometimes there's different species of, like,
00:42:29catfish types that hide in this kind of mud.
00:42:33Maybe I'll get lucky.
00:42:42Yeah, this isn't working.
00:42:45I don't know if I can get them with this strategy.
00:42:58Oh, almost blacked out.
00:42:59Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
00:43:01Oh, yeah.
00:43:09They're right, yeah, yeah.
00:43:10Right there, right there.
00:43:14Yeah.
00:43:16They're gone.
00:43:17Damn it.
00:43:19They're hunting in these conditions
00:43:20is not hunting out on a weekend with mates,
00:43:23with rifles or a compound bow.
00:43:25We're struggling to get close to the animals.
00:43:26It's probably one of the most difficult things
00:43:28I've ever had to do.
00:43:31They're right there.
00:43:32They're right there.
00:43:33They're right there.
00:43:35Nothing going on here.
00:43:36I'm still hopeful.
00:43:37I'll still keep trying till the very end.
00:43:40I need food.
00:43:41I need to provide for my partners.
00:43:44Whether I will or not,
00:43:45I guess we'll have to wait and see.
00:43:49Nothing.
00:43:51I'm a single animal.
00:43:53I don't know what you're doing.
00:43:55No, because this is a long time without eating, right?
00:43:58This is now, this is for real.
00:44:01It's a long time ago without serious nutrition.
00:44:05Kyle and I really haven't eaten anything since we got here.
00:44:08Yeah.
00:44:08Uh-huh.
00:44:09So, except spinach.
00:44:12We're gonna be fleeting nuts.
00:44:14Seeing the group, like, suffering from hunger, it's hard.
00:44:19Just know that from the deepest parts of our hearts and souls,
00:44:25me and him are trying our hardest to get us something.
00:44:27And we feel like .
00:44:29We feel like .
00:44:29I know.
00:44:30At this point in the challenge,
00:44:32a kill would mean everything.
00:44:33It's hope.
00:44:34It's fuel.
00:44:35Morale.
00:44:36I mean, we still have miles to go for extraction.
00:44:40So, a kill means it's everything.
00:45:02Man, it's just hitting me today.
00:45:05My body's starting to like really kinda shut down a bit
00:45:09because of the lack of food.
00:45:12Today just really sucks.
00:45:19Viserable.
00:45:21Struggling today.
00:45:22This is like the that gets in my head.
00:45:26I know, I'm getting it too, right?
00:45:28I'm like, you're like,
00:45:29can't go out of like this.
00:45:30It's like some more days on top of the side.
00:45:33We're just so, so, so weak.
00:45:37And then the weakness making you just sit around.
00:45:39And then when you sit around, you're just in your thoughts.
00:45:42We just need to eat, man.
00:45:43We're just, ugh.
00:45:45Kind of spun out in my brain a little bit.
00:45:47And it's, you don't want to do that.
00:45:50Because you just think of all the reasons
00:45:52that you don't need to be here.
00:45:53And it's really easy to come up with reasons to not be here.
00:45:56Like really easy.
00:45:59Ugh, I'm really hungry.
00:46:02I don't know if I have the strength for this.
00:46:13I'm definitely struggling the most I've struggled today.
00:46:16Like, Namibia is hard.
00:46:18This is hard.
00:46:18I just don't have it in me.
00:46:21Like, the tank's pretty empty.
00:46:24My partner, Jolie, seeing her in a spot of bother,
00:46:27to be quite honest, it really makes me scared and concerned.
00:46:31Because, you know, having learned from our previous challenge,
00:46:35a moment of weakness is all it takes
00:46:37to remove you from this challenge.
00:46:39I mean, we need food.
00:46:41We need food.
00:46:44For extraction, we need something.
00:46:46We're trying.
00:46:47We're trying.
00:46:52It's just so difficult.
00:46:55My body's just deteriorating.
00:46:57This is a long time ago without food.
00:46:59I mean, it's a long time.
00:47:01Yeah.
00:47:01With so much energy going out, you know?
00:47:04I've never said something like this.
00:47:07We need food, dudes.
00:47:10What are we going to do?
00:47:12Did you guys ever watch a movie with the Australian rugby team?
00:47:16I think they crashed in the Ops or something.
00:47:18Oh, yeah.
00:47:18I saw that movie.
00:47:19They had to eat each other.
00:47:20Yeah.
00:47:20Yes.
00:47:21Are you that hungry?
00:47:22I'll give anything I try to get some protein in.
00:47:25Which one of us is going to go first?
00:47:31My money's on Miley.
00:47:32I'm going to wake up.
00:47:33She's going to be chewing on my hand or something.
00:47:36Hate to say it, but we're coming for you first.
00:47:38Brandon.
00:47:40This point in the challenge, I don't care.
00:47:43I'm willing to go however far it takes.
00:47:46I really feel most of desperation for food today.
00:47:49My body has hit its limit.
00:47:52I'm hungry.
00:47:53I'm tired.
00:47:54But Miley and I, we've never done a day 15 in a challenge.
00:47:58So we've been looking forward to this milestone.
00:48:01My goal is to get to the end.
00:48:03So I'm just going to dig deep and just focus on getting
00:48:06to that end line.
00:48:08I think from a hunting perspective.
00:48:10We feel that it's best probably exploring new locations,
00:48:13see if that's maybe more successful.
00:48:15So me and Kyle decided we're going to branch out.
00:48:18We're going to do some scouting.
00:48:19Probably build a new blind.
00:48:21I wouldn't mind taking an evening kind of shift
00:48:24if you want to take a morning shift.
00:48:26Yeah.
00:48:26We can try it.
00:48:27And then no more hunting together.
00:48:30It's game on right now.
00:48:30Like, we're in the final stretch.
00:48:32And I firmly believe it's just a matter of time
00:48:35before we end up with something.
00:48:36But Miley has all the time going on.
00:48:55Well, that's a matter of time.
00:48:56You know, you've got to be pretty close.
00:48:56Go ahead and go back.
00:48:56Go ahead and go ahead and go ahead and go.
00:48:57You know, why do you have to do this now?
00:48:57It's in the same way you are going.
00:48:57That's not the same way you are going to do this now.
00:49:01What does this?
00:49:03I know what?
00:49:08Oh, I'm so weak.
00:49:11Oh, man.
00:49:13It's so frustrating, man.
00:49:15It's been like almost three weeks now.
00:49:18I mean, this is the longest I've ever gone about food in my life.
00:49:21I think Brandon and I are both experiencing the same kind of frustration.
00:49:25You know, we're hungry, we're tired, we're weak.
00:49:32And we're just like, I don't know, we're just like getting it right.
00:49:36Afrikaans, there's a word called mudaluas.
00:49:38And it just means like, just fed up.
00:49:40You know, I'm just like fed up.
00:49:54Maybe we could check over here and see if there's spinach.
00:49:56OK.
00:49:59No food, 21 days.
00:50:02Crazy.
00:50:03Yep.
00:50:04I think all of us are a little bit startled by the fact that we've gone this long without any
00:50:08real food.
00:50:09It's really hard on everybody every time they go hunting and don't bring anything back.
00:50:13You know, we're hungry, so it does suck every single time.
00:50:18Are they frustrated and they're probably a little bit disappointed, but so are we.
00:50:22Yeah.
00:50:22You know, we're in the same boat.
00:50:23We're working as a collective here.
00:50:25I mean, the bottom line is we're trying and more than that, we can't do.
00:50:32What's that big gray thing there that you see?
00:50:38Get your boat.
00:50:39I think it's a wildebeest.
00:50:40Oh, .
00:50:43OK.
00:50:44You ready?
00:50:45Yeah.
00:50:46Go, go, go, go, go.
00:50:52Just creep up to this bush runner.
00:50:54OK.
00:50:58Let's look around at us.
00:51:06Move when his head's down.
00:51:08Let's get a good position.
00:51:09Jolie.
00:51:11Miley.
00:51:11Stay down.
00:51:12Both of you.
00:51:13Stay down.
00:51:14Jolie, do move.
00:51:18There's a wildebeest.
00:51:19We're standing right at our waterhole.
00:51:21The boys can see it.
00:51:22OK.
00:51:23Don't move.
00:51:28Don't move.
00:51:30Don't move.
00:51:53Do move.
00:51:53Don't move.
00:51:53Just how.
00:52:11Don't move.
00:52:15Don't move.
00:52:21Don't move.
00:52:22in South Africa, let me show you.
00:52:23Show you a game.
00:52:24Okay.
00:52:25So in South Africa, there's a game
00:52:27that we used to play as kids called bok dro spug,
00:52:29which translates to antelope dung spit.
00:52:33You would find dry antelope dung,
00:52:35and then you would spit it as far as possible.
00:52:37I'll go first.
00:52:39Okay.
00:52:40Pick one.
00:52:43Look.
00:52:46Oh, no.
00:52:49Really?
00:52:49Yeah.
00:52:50All right.
00:52:55What originated with South African hunters,
00:52:58if a hunter missed a kill,
00:53:00they would have to spit dry pellets
00:53:03in the direction of their departed meal.
00:53:06You gotta work on that.
00:53:07I will.
00:53:08Well, it's only my first time.
00:53:09You grew up playing it.
00:53:10You South Africans.
00:53:29Oh, man.
00:53:35That was heartbreaking.
00:53:38Oh, man.
00:53:39I just need one more, just one more dash, just across.
00:53:49That's a bummer.
00:53:51To have gone through this whole challenge with no significant food, the reality of it is startling.
00:53:58Brandon and Kyle, they've really put a lot of effort in.
00:54:01They've done a lot of sitting around, a lot of waiting for nothing.
00:54:04Everybody's exhausted.
00:54:06Everybody's exhausted.
00:54:07Every single one of us.
00:54:08It's like this extended, prolonged suffering.
00:54:12I think he's gone.
00:54:14Yeah.
00:54:16Right there again, man.
00:54:18Hunting was a big deal for me, you know, coming into this.
00:54:22I didn't accomplish that, which is extremely sad for me.
00:54:25But I guess that's what, you know, the survival challenge is all about, you know, just pushing
00:54:28through.
00:54:29So close.
00:54:30Yet so far.
00:54:31Yes, a kill would have, you know, been really great, but it's helped me overcome a different
00:54:36aspect of the challenge that I didn't anticipate, you know, and that's the hunger.
00:54:39Sorry, bro.
00:54:40Sorry.
00:54:41Shit happens, man.
00:54:42I mean, is that not the point, you know, to avoid instant gratification?
00:54:46To reach this point, having overcome the suffering.
00:54:49I mean, despite all the setbacks, you know, I've come this far, I'm not giving up until
00:54:54extraction.
00:54:55He left before you could shoot?
00:54:57Yeah.
00:55:01He's for trying.
00:55:03All we can do is try.
00:55:05We're just going to have to rest so we have energy to do extraction tomorrow.
00:55:08Yeah.
00:55:0921 day water fast it is.
00:55:12Yep.
00:55:24You guys ready to go?
00:55:26Let's do this.
00:55:27This is it.
00:55:27Let's go home.
00:55:28Day 21.
00:55:28Day 21.
00:55:29Extraction day.
00:55:30We're finally here.
00:55:32We haven't eaten, so we're going to have to be running on adrenaline.
00:55:35I feel it.
00:55:36And excitement.
00:55:37Today's the day we're leaving.
00:55:38It's going to be a long walk, long hike.
00:55:41It's not going to be easy.
00:55:42Because we're exhausted.
00:55:43We're running on fumes.
00:55:45Yeah.
00:55:45Let's do it.
00:55:46It's been hell to get to this moment.
00:55:48So I think it's going to be the true test.
00:55:51Dr. Matthew's head out.
00:55:55To reach their extraction point, the tribe must trek two miles through the sandy and thorn-covered
00:56:01Namibian bush.
00:56:02After 21 days with virtually no nourishment, the tribe is in a weakened state and must
00:56:07keep a careful eye out for predators, such as lions and cheetahs, that would see them
00:56:12as easy prey.
00:56:20This thing's thick, eh?
00:56:22Yeah, it is.
00:56:23Harder to walk in.
00:56:25It's fatiguing.
00:56:27Just keep pushing.
00:56:29All right.
00:56:35You OK?
00:56:36Where did it get you?
00:56:37Right in the eye.
00:56:38Ah!
00:56:40It's OK.
00:56:41You see?
00:56:42You're good.
00:56:42OK.
00:56:43Just another battle scar.
00:56:51There's a whole bunch of vultures up here.
00:56:53Hope it's not a sign for us.
00:56:55Ow.
00:56:57Ow.
00:56:58Ah.
00:56:58Prickles.
00:56:59Big one.
00:57:00Ah!
00:57:02Ah!
00:57:03Ah!
00:57:04There are thorns everywhere.
00:57:06Everywhere.
00:57:07And it's very painful.
00:57:08And it's constant.
00:57:10Ah!
00:57:11It's freaking thorns.
00:57:12They just won't leave me alone.
00:57:14My legs feel very fatigued.
00:57:17Almost there, Jolly.
00:57:18All right.
00:57:18We're almost there.
00:57:19Come on, guys.
00:57:19You gotta push.
00:57:20Come on.
00:57:22I'm trying.
00:57:24Gotta dig deep.
00:57:25We gotta be getting close, man.
00:57:27We're in the game-winning part, OK?
00:57:30We're in the final drive.
00:57:31And we've just gotta be able to stay vigilant.
00:57:34The last thing we need right now is a big thorn
00:57:36or a step on a snake, because we're right there.
00:57:39I am right there.
00:57:40Ah!
00:57:41Careful.
00:57:42Ground.
00:57:43Thorns.
00:57:44Ah!
00:57:46Yeah, you see what I see?
00:57:47I see a road.
00:57:48I see a road, too.
00:57:49Oh, my gosh.
00:57:51Really?
00:57:51It's gotta be it.
00:57:57We're at the road.
00:57:58All right, for real.
00:57:58This is it.

00:58:08Awesome, guys.
00:58:09Proud of you.
00:58:10Where's the vehicle?
00:58:11We're ready.
00:58:12I hear it.
00:58:13Is it a plane?
00:58:14One!
00:58:15Yeah!
00:58:17Woo!
00:58:17Woo!
00:58:18Yeah!
00:58:24I've worked so hard for the 21 days.
00:58:26I gave it my all.
00:58:27I don't think many, you know, go through a challenge like this with no food.
00:58:30That alone was, you know, was a massive, you know, accomplishment.
00:58:35As I stand here today, I am that strong man that I want to be for my boys.
00:58:40The example that they need in overcoming challenges in their own life.
00:58:45We did it.
00:58:49This is so amazing.
00:58:50Can you believe it?
00:58:51I can't believe it.
00:58:52I told you on day one we're going to get out of here together.
00:58:54Runway in the middle of Namathia.
00:58:56And now we're off.
00:58:58Let's get out of here.
00:58:59There we go.
00:59:01Let's get out of here.

00:59:1710 years for this feeling.
00:59:2010 years for this feeling.
00:59:2110 years for this feeling.
00:59:2810 years.
00:59:29To have his son do this.
00:59:31It meant so much to him.
00:59:34And now, I've completed it, Dad.
00:59:40I did it, man.
00:59:45It's because of you, man.
00:59:48It's because of you.
00:59:50After surviving 21 days and consuming only 200 calories, Brandon lost 42 pounds.
00:59:56His personal survival rating goes up to 6.9.
01:00:00I'm proud of you.
01:00:02I'm really, really proud of you.
01:00:03Looking at somebody who came in as just a super fan, this 21 was definitely my big girl challenge.
01:00:10I never expected the partnership situation.
01:00:14My partnership in my last challenge, I didn't have one.
01:00:17But Kyle and I, that friendship is definitely forged in a lot of support.
01:00:23It is the most treasured thing I am taking out of this challenge for sure.
01:00:26Jolie had only 100 calories and lost 25 pounds.
01:00:30Her PSR climbs to 7.4.
01:00:34That's where we were, 21 days.
01:00:38Biggest adventure of my whole life.
01:00:40I've thought about some of my patients a lot while I was out here.
01:00:44Especially when I was so hungry, so low, so down.
01:00:49And at any moment, I had the ability to tap out, right?
01:00:52At any moment, I had the ability to make this stop.
01:00:55And I feel like I already had a lot of empathy as a nurse, but I come back with even
01:01:00more now.
01:01:01Miley consumed just 200 calories and lost 21 pounds.
01:01:06Her PSR rises to 7.4.
01:01:08This is the coolest thing I've ever done in my life.
01:01:11The most difficult, the most challenging.
01:01:13With just 100 calories consumed, Kyle lost 40 pounds.
01:01:17His PSR increases to 6.8.
01:01:21Done.
01:01:2121 days to my list.
01:01:23Done.
01:01:24Well done, guys.
01:01:26Bravo!
01:01:27Bravo!
01:01:29Peace.
01:01:30Until we meet again.
01:01:32Hey, guys.
01:01:33Extraction just happened.
01:01:34And we're excited to eat our first meal here.
01:01:37Hell yeah.
01:01:37So freaking excited.
01:01:39Missing Miley, of course.
01:01:41She had to catch a flight.
01:01:42I promised my boss I'd be back to work.
01:01:45My almost 13-hour shift tomorrow, and I have my delicious shirt.
01:01:51Foodery meal here.
01:01:52I'm eating cheese and meat, which I never thought I would ever, ever eat again.
01:02:01It does not make sense of what that is.
01:02:0321 days without any real food to actually be putting real meat into our bodies.
01:02:09We're going to savor it.
01:02:09I can just feel my body just absorbing.
