00:00U.S. President Donald Trump says Washington will pull back troops from Germany a lot further than the initially announced
00:07withdrawal of 5,000.
00:10At least 10 people have been killed and over 70 injured in a Russian large-scale attack on Ukraine in
00:17the past 24 hours.
00:20The French government has vowed to crack down on illegal raves after tens of thousands of people gathered at an
00:27unauthorized event this weekend.
00:31Donald Trump indicated that there will be further significant cuts to U.S. troop presence in Germany just one day
00:37after the Pentagon announced it was withdrawing 5,000 within the next 6 to 12 months.
00:42Why is the U.S. removing troops from Germany?
00:46We're going to cut way down and we're cutting a lot further than 5,000. Thank you very much.
00:51The move escalates a dispute between Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, who last week criticized the U.S.-Israeli war
00:59in Iran,
01:00stating that Washington had no strategy.
01:03Mertz also said the Iranian leadership is, quote,
01:06humiliating the United States, eliciting an angry response from Trump,
01:11who slammed him as useless in helping end the war in Ukraine.
01:15The U.S. currently maintains over 36,000 active-duty troops in Germany,
01:20which will drop down to 31,000 when the announced soldiers depart.
01:25It's unclear how many more Washington plans to pull back,
01:28but Trump has also suggested that similar cuts are to come in Spain and Italy,
01:32after recent clashes with their leaders, also over the Iran war.
01:41Russia has launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine,
01:46killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 70 others across the country in just 24 hours.
01:54Ukraine's Air Force says nearly 270 drones entered Ukrainian airspace,
02:00the majority intercepted, but 19 Iranian-made Shahids and the ballistic missile found their targets.
02:09Casualties stretched from the eastern Donbass to the southern regions of Zaporizhia and Kherson,
02:14where Russian forces struck residential areas.
02:18Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy announced
02:21the two Russian oil tankers were struck overnight at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk,
02:27part of Kiev's sustained campaign against Moscow's sanctions evading Shadow Fleet.
02:38France's Interior Minister has vowed to crack down on illegal raves
02:41after tens of thousands of people gathered at an unauthorized event this weekend.
02:48After flying over the party, taking place at a military site near the town of Bourges,
02:54Laurent Nunez said everyone leaving the so-called Technoval will be fined.
03:00Organizers said that up to 40,000 people have attended the event,
03:04while French officials put the turnout at 17,000.
03:08Hundreds of sanctions have been issued already, say the government.
03:13The location of the party close to the Interior Minister's birthplace was chosen deliberately
03:18by anti-war organizers as a direct protest against proposed legislation
03:23that would criminalize the organization of illegal raves.
03:28Organizing such an event will now be a criminal offense punishable by two years in prison
03:33a 30,000 euro fine, said Nunez.
