00:19Troy's been bugging me about his final payment there on Lightning Creek and I
00:24got a hundred ounce of gold in a jar so I'm gonna go pay it to him right now and
00:29kind of get him off my back 44 year old Rick Ness is betting on himself he's
00:37purchasing his second gold mine Lightning Creek expanding his Kino Empire to 3600
00:44acres of ground hey Troy good good see ya what's going on yeah I brought you some
00:54gold you know I wasn't trying to jerk you around or nothing so there's a there's a
00:57hundred ounces in there yeah I'm assuming there's a hundred ounces in here I'll go
01:04away as soon as you oh yeah yeah I know I know yeah we had no there's a hundred
01:07ounces in there yeah and you know with today's gold prices that's a chunk so
01:10yeah yeah it's looking good yeah this is the final payment you're on your way so
01:14you're off to the races so good luck all right good business as always okay that's
01:19good to have that off my back I always like paying off debts Lightning Creek we
01:23haven't made it we haven't made a payoff yet but I know we will it's it's an asset for
01:26the future and it's an option so it's a good day
01:34for now Rick's new claim is an insurance policy for the foreseeable future he's
01:41focusing his operation on Vegas Valley a spot that paid out nearly 800 ounces last year but
01:49his water license expires in just four months I just really got to hope that we had our $1,800
01:56goal for running what's left of you know last year's stock pop I know there's a lot of gold there
02:01because uh we need a lot after I spent all that money good news though is that we got the
02:05Vegas
02:05Valley water license extended this year it came out of nowhere um but uh but I'll take it you know
02:10right back where we want to be we know the gold's there but at the end of the day it's
02:14only good
02:14till November so we really got to get as much gold out of out of Vegas Valley as we can
02:18because we
02:19don't don't know if we'll be able to come back
02:29we got this Vegas Valley stockpile it's probably 300 ounces in in this pay pile but we're burning
02:36through it pretty quick Rick's crew are running a leftover pay pile from last year and now have
02:44to get back on pay dirt at the bottom of the cut well I don't really want to shut monster
02:49red down now
02:49that we're getting the gold so I I'm gonna go down and talk to Bailey we just need to get
02:53to the
02:53bottom of Vegas Valley ASAP
03:06what's going on I don't know if you've seen the pay pile but it's going fast and I know it
03:12always does
03:13a week max is what we've got to run through the plant you know and it might might be only
03:17five or
03:17six days with the late start that we're getting it's pretty important that we keep that plan so
03:21um you know I know I hear that in the spring you did you know you did a good job
03:25at Lightning Creek
03:25you open that up quick and so I I need you to do the same thing right get back into
03:29Vegas Valley open
03:30her up and just do what you do is it realistic to think that you could get pay up there
03:34before that
03:34pile's gone I think we can do it build a new road yeah we should be able to for sure
03:42that's uh I mean
03:45that's that's what I want to hear if we need another road you can work on that yeah okay got
03:49a week all right let's burn some teeth good man last year Rick's crew moved a mountain to open up
04:00Vegas
04:01Valley digging down 160 feet they removed more than 1 million yards of dirt before they hit pay
04:10over winter Vegas Valley flooded Rick has drained the water but the road into the cut has washed away now
04:21to
04:21get back down to the pay layer Bailey must build a new 500 foot road down to the bottom of
04:27the cut and
04:28start pulling pay before monster red runs out of its stockpile to get the job done in a week Bailey
04:39needs
04:39all three of Rick's working rock trucks
04:53hey Ryan you got a copy
04:57uh you want to come over here and take a look at this rock truck it's uh it won't even
05:02turn over
05:03yep give me a couple I'll be over sounds good thanks
05:11all the lights turn on everything and you go to start it and don't even turn over all right Kai
05:15we'll do some tests on it we'll get it figured out thank you Ryan's here uh I'm gonna hop in
05:21this truck
05:21uh and uh while he's fixing that one so that we can keep the trucks rolling until Ryan can fix
05:29the
05:29problem Rick's down to just two rock trucks you know it's on me but it's on the rock truck drivers
05:48too they got to move the material just as quick as I got to you know load them
06:14oh for sake now what did you do well shut the truck off your hydraulic tank just fell off
06:26not a good day to be a rock truck after a second rock truck craps out Bailey's left with just
06:33one
06:34truck to build the road I'm just sitting here burning fuel his hopes of finishing the Vegas
06:41Valley Road before they run out of pay are getting slimmer by the hour dude that's bad yeah it's bad
06:49he's lucky those six bolts up there holding otherwise he would have just ran the tank over and it would
06:54have been bad here's your three bolts right here somehow every one of those sheared off I don't
07:03think it's driver abuse by any means I just think either these were coming loose and once one came
07:09loose the other started moving loose these are the original trucks I started with about seven years ago
07:17I don't see any damage tanks fine but I don't recommend we run it it's just another hit it's
07:25not good we got rock trucks down we got a hell of a lot of dirt to move out of
07:28Vegas Valley so
07:30hopefully Ryan can get it fixed quick and get back to business
07:52my goal this is going for about six and a half thousand ounces things are actually going really
07:58well we're really banging off the hours and we're really running the yardage and we're getting quite
08:03a few ounces of gold out of the ground midway through his season the king of the Klondike has
08:10already banked half his season target 11 million dollars worth of gold Indian River we got two boxes
08:21going running 24 hours a day we are almost finished listing pay out of the river cuts out I need
08:27the
08:27corner cut opened up Tony's tearing through his Indian River claim which has delivered a thousand
08:35ounces more gold than this time last season to keep up momentum he's now opening the corner cut which he
08:44believes holds up to 20 million dollars worth of gold the corner cut in the Indian right now is a
08:52big cut
08:53I don't think I've ever had one this big I'll bet you this thing is three full claims right now
09:00we're
09:00doing a lot of stripping and right now it takes too long to load a truck so we got to
09:05fix that up
09:07Tony's in a rush to get down to pay dirt because at the river cut his double wash plant setup
09:13is churning
09:14through pay at record speed if the river cut is done before he's pulling pay from the corner cut
09:21Tony will have to shut down the speed things up down there now we take the biggest accident we've got
09:29the 950 never bring it to the Indian River and with a 950 it takes less than a minute to
09:36load a rock
09:37truck but the other ones it takes two bigger hole double production pretty simple there's just one
09:45problem the 950 is currently at Paradise Hill being used by son Mike's crew Michael D copy Michael D copy
10:03that 950 is a beautiful piece of equipment I'm actually very angry about this the 950 is a bulk
10:09hauler I was hoping to get loose in with but that's not gonna happen this is more wasted time Mike
10:16is
10:16whining because I steal all his equipment I need that excavator he's losing out on that one to hold the
10:24950
10:2440 miles from Paradise Hill to the Indian River Tony's crew need to first remove the boom and stick
10:33then load them along with the body onto two heavy-duty low boys now we're pulling the main stick pin
10:44out
10:45and then all the weights off that we'll be able to flip the boom up swing it around and pull
10:51the next piece
10:59give her a good pull
11:04went out of alignment there a little bit
11:09hey no bucket don't do that just back up
11:15just ask you guys to get out of the way because it might break here
11:21stand back
11:23holy
11:25the excavator shifted a little bit and that pinched on the pin so I think the press might be the
11:32option
11:33for this so I'll hang this thing from my crane and I can pressure this up with the hydraulic pump
11:40and it's got quite a bit of force to help pull that pin out
11:45I'm gonna be irritated by it taking this long but nothing I can do to change that
12:00we've broken it loose there where it was pinched up so we're just gonna give it a try with the
12:05loader speed things up
12:21lift the boom out of its place set it down walk the 950 on the trailer and away it goes
12:30when tony's around it definitely kicks everybody into gear it's uh you don't want to be standing
12:36around with your hands in your pockets when tony's around here as i'm standing around my hands in my
12:42pockets looks like the boys did a good job now we'll load up the body put it on the rail
12:48and then down
12:50the road we go after losing 16 tons removing the stick and boom the 950's body still weighs 84 tons
13:00a regular trailer you just walk it on chain it down and away it goes this one you got a
13:04block up
13:05underneath the excavator and then lift up the trailer and then pray that it lifts up the hole high enough
13:09to drive it
13:13darren is going to take the mainframe and i'll take this one
13:18let's get the thing out of here
13:26tony sets off first transporting the boom and stick
13:35darren follows behind with the body of the 950
13:43got a little late but that's okay
13:48well we'll get it there and then we'll put it together
13:51and yeah let's go to work
14:17okay
14:17there and then we'll be
14:27there and then we'll be
14:28there and then we'll be
14:43Tony Beetz is hauling his 950 excavator from Paradise Hill to Indian River.
14:50But 20 miles out, he's lost contact with driver Darren.
14:59Sometimes you get higher up and you get a bit more of a straight line.
15:03Sometimes you get lucky that you can reach them.
15:10I've got to have a look, see what's happening.
15:15Hey Darren, are you on lap 1? Darren, are you on lap 1?
15:18Hello Tony.
15:20So what are you doing?
15:21In the airbag.
15:22Yes and Aaron.
15:23Flowing right off.
15:24I wonder if I should ask these people to drive me down the hill so I can have a look
15:28at
15:28what you got.
15:33The glue in the airbag on the trailer.
15:35It's not going to be an easy fix.
15:38Let's see what he's got.
15:46This offensive suit.
15:51If we stick airbags on the needle, is it going to make a difference?
15:55I don't think so.
15:56Still like probably 40,000 kgs on the back.
15:59What I'm thinking of doing is get somebody to start walking.
16:03Tony's only option, walk the excavator, which has a painfully slow top speed of 2.7 miles an hour.
16:12The 20 miles to Indian River, delaying his plan to get to pay in the corner cut.
16:18Start walking.
16:21Sometimes you just have no choice.
16:40Tyson was going to pull a stripping crew out of the bridge cut to come do fine tannings and I
16:43was like,
16:44man, just throw me in a hole and I'll buy you a couple shifts.
16:50Parker Schnabel is back in the saddle with his eyes on a 10,000 ounce, $35 million prize.
16:58I still enjoy getting in machinery, but I just don't have the time to do it anymore.
17:03My job has changed massively and it's important that I do what I think is the most critical issue at
17:12hand.
17:13And it's just that the size the company is now, that never is like,
17:17oh, I need to be in that piece of equipment doing that job.
17:21Midway through the season, Parker is closing in on 5,000 ounces, half his season goal.
17:29The biggest issue that we're going to have, I think, which is the only thing I'm really worried about,
17:34is having enough sluicing capacity.
17:36There's a lot of sluicing left to do.
17:39For the first time ever, Parker is running four wash plants,
17:45Big Red, Sluisifer and Bob at Dominion Creek,
17:49while Roxanne works at Ken and Stewart's on the Indian River,
17:54where Parker needs to produce 2,000 ounces, a fifth of his season goal.
18:01At the Indian River, there's definitely, you know,
18:04a massive amount of dirt moving that needs to happen.
18:08If we don't focus on that, we don't meet the target.
18:18Foreman Mitch Blaschke is away for the next two days.
18:22So it's all on acting foreman Brennan Rouault to keep the gold rolling in at Indian River.
18:31We're trying to get him a massive pay pile, so that way we have time to take care of other
18:35things.
18:36So the work has never stopped.
18:38So we've got to keep everything rolling down here as efficient as possible.
18:45We've just got to keep this plant running.
18:48We've got a lot of pay to chew through here, and as long as we keep it going,
18:52we'll all have nice happy bonuses at the end of the year.
19:08Why isn't that shaker deck going?
19:33Brennan got a copy?
19:35Hey buddy, what's going on?
19:38Hey man, the shaker deck just stopped going.
19:41You've got to be joking me.
19:44Jenny's on, breaker's on.
19:46Nothing happens.
19:48Okay buddy, I'll get us some mechanics as quick as they can.
19:56I do not want to see that plant down.
19:59We have way too much ground to get through here.
20:01They need to be down here making a pay pile.
20:06Brennan calls in father and son mechanics, Bill Horton and Justin Dreesen, to investigate the breakdown.
20:14The overload protection is shutting it down.
20:17Why? We're not sure yet.
20:19So we've got to just start testing wires and find out if there's an overload on a certain wire, a
20:27certain leg.
20:27Lots to check.
20:32We're going through all the wiring.
20:34We pull a lot of the connections apart, put them back together.
20:37Okay Jess, let's give her a whirl maybe.
20:41We'll put these covers back on and we'll try some dirt through it.
20:44Okay.
20:44Ready?
20:45Okay.
20:45Yep.
20:52Bill tests the flow of electricity, measured in amps, driving the shaker motor.
20:58Well right now she's shaking so the amperage is a little bit higher than we wanted.
21:04We're at 42, 43 range.
21:08We only really want to be at 35.
21:17Right now everything is running.
21:21I'm pretty happy right now so I'm just hoping this happiness can last all day.
21:29Okay.
21:30Failed again.
21:35Is that water coming out of the bearing?
21:39I think we finally found the cause of the problem.
21:45Okay, you're good, you're good, you're good.
21:47We have a hole right through.
21:48Dirt's been in there quite a while.
21:50So those bearings will be toast.
21:53Pull up and pull this shaft out.
21:54I'm sick.
21:57Roxanne's shaker deck gets its rocking motion from a rotating shaft inside a metal cylinder with counterweights at each end.
22:06Bearings reduce friction as the shaft spins.
22:10Over time, a rock has worked its way under a guard plate and after years of vibrating in the same
22:17spot, the rock has worn a hole into the cylinder, letting in water and dirt, partially seizing the bearings.
22:26To fix the problem, the bearings have to be removed, the shaft pulled out, the hole welded shut, the shaft
22:36reinserted, and new bearings fitted before it can be fired up and start sluicing again.
22:45Bill and Justin begin by removing the bearings.
22:51Glad my knee wasn't under that.
22:53There's brass in the water.
22:56Oh, yeah.
22:57Oh, yeah.
22:57The bearings are done.
22:59You want to swing it out, and then I'll wind it down.
23:02Okay.
23:03Okay.
23:03Ready?
23:04Mm-hmm.
23:10The process is repeated on the other side.
23:13We got it.
23:15Next, they pull out the 2,000-pound shaft.
23:21You're going to pick now, so go ahead.
23:34There we go, buddy.
23:36We got a shaft out on the ground.
23:38Every hour, the plant is down.
23:40Parker is losing over $4,000 in gold production.
23:45We got a lot of work ahead of us right now, and we really don't have time for it.
23:51Any downtime is going to kill us right now, you know, and that's what scared me.
23:55Hopefully, we'll have it fixed, so when Mitch is back, we're running full kill.
23:59Downtime's the biggest killer this time of year.
24:16We're running what's left in a stockpile from last season.
24:19It's nice that we had that, but it's going to run out soon.
24:22Rick Ness is chasing a potential $1 million payout from a stockpile,
24:28while his crew race to get to pay at the bottom of Vegas Valley before it runs out.
24:35The linchpin in the plan?
24:37Rebuilding the road that descends 50 feet into the pit.
24:41I made a promise to Rick that I can do this road and try to get down here as quick
24:44as we can.
24:45I'm worried that we're not going to make it down on the pay, and, you know, they're going to run
24:48out of pay before I can get there.
24:50With just one rock truck at his disposal, Bailey's chances of getting the job done are slim.
24:58You know, right now, with no trucks, it's not helping us get down there.
25:02Now is crunch time, and we need to get moving.
25:04And I don't want to fail Rick.
25:09I just went to go start his truck and said everything powers up, but when he turns the ignition, he's
25:13got nothing.
25:14Mechanic Ryan has been struggling to get two downed trucks back up and running, and has finally made a breakthrough.
25:24Basically, what somebody's done here is they have spliced the igniter wires on the relay together.
25:33Basically, what that igniter wire does, it sends a signal down to the relay on the starter and tells the
25:38starter, hey, it's time to engage.
25:39It looks like somebody's put in a couple splices, cut the wires off, and decided that was going to be
25:45an easy fix, so...
25:50What we'll do is fix their splice and see if it starts. No big deal.
26:03All good. Halfway there.
26:07We got the wire fixed. This truck fires up.
26:11Looks like we got our hands full at the next one, though.
26:18This tank right here is hydraulic and then brake fluid.
26:22The three mounting bolts right up top have completely sheared off.
26:26Years of abuse. The bolts, you know, they'll sit there and wear and wear and wear, and eventually you hit
26:31one good bump, and there's plenty of them out here, and now that tank is down, so...
26:36I'm gonna need to lift this up and press it in.
26:39Try to get my main spacers and bolts put in up here that connect to the frame.
26:43Once we get this up and in position, we're three bolts in.
26:48All the other equipment is way up on the hill, so...
26:52No need to bring more manpower down here. I'll just try to wing her.
26:55I'm the only mechanic on the crew. It's a lot of stress.
27:02What a brace.
27:03I think it might work.
27:06This one's it. Done.
27:09That's good.
27:10All right, that's it. Everything's bolted down.
27:13This truck's ready to hit back on that monster cut.
27:17Bailey, you got a copy?
27:19Yeah.
27:20Hey, man, good news. We got that hydraulic tank remounted up, so it's gonna be another truck in your rotation.
27:25Yeah, Ryan, that's great, man. I'll be able to finish this off a lot quicker now.
27:31All three trucks now back in the field, Bailey has a fighting chance of finishing the road before the stockpiled
27:38pay runs out.
27:48Hey, Rick, you got a copy?
27:52Copy, copy.
27:54Yeah, we're almost out of pay here.
27:56Is that all the pay that's left right there, that little pile?
27:59Probably five more buckets, not even.
28:02You guys got to open your eyes somewhere else or something.
28:05We're gonna make a decision here and figure out what the hell we're gonna do.
28:10We need some pay up here pretty soon, or we're gonna be shutting down the plant.
28:17Bailey, give us an update on what's going on down there.
28:20Well, this is gonna take a lot longer than expected, and the truck's being broken down.
28:25There's way too much work down here.
28:29That's great. That's it. Didn't make it.
28:35We didn't want to have to shut it down, but that's where we're at. We're out of pay right now.
28:42With only 190 ounces so far this year, Rick's forced to shut down while the crew continue to build the
28:51road.
28:51Get the bypass.
28:52And pray the stockpile pays out big enough to keep it in business.
29:00Yeah, it's not a good feeling shutting down Monster Red this time of year, especially when we don't know when
29:04the next round of pay is coming.
29:05We've got a lot of work to do to get to 1,800 ounces, I'll tell you that.
29:28So when do you think that 950 will come in? Have you heard yet?
29:31We need it today.
29:33We need it yesterday.
29:35At Indian River, Tony Beat's crew are in desperate need of the Monster 950 to help strip the corner cut.
29:46It's been a long and slow journey to get this to the Indian River.
29:50Into his eighth hour driving the 950 to Indian River, after the low boy carrying it broke down, Tony's grandson,
29:5918-year-old Egan.
30:01It's nice to be getting involved with it all.
30:03It's my fifth year running equipment.
30:06I can run a little bit of everything.
30:08Mostly excavator, though.
30:13Morning, Egan.
30:14Morning.
30:15How are you today?
30:16Good.
30:17Are you ready to go to work?
30:19Sure.
30:20Since the age of 13, Egan has learned the ropes running machinery under Tony's watch.
30:28If you like this kind of stuff, someday you might be a gold miner, too.
30:35It's the youngest operator we got, and he's f***ing near the best operator on an excavator we have.
30:42It's kind of nice to see a third generation miner.
30:45That's something to be proud of, I think.
30:47Before he can deliver the 950 to Indian River, Egan has one final obstacle.
30:55Looks like we're catching up, Egan.
30:59So you made it, Egan?
31:00Yep.
31:01Long, slow drive.
31:04Anyway, creek is over there.
31:06Just drive right the f*** through it, and we'll see you in camp in a bit.
31:09What do you think?
31:10Yep.
31:10Give a f***.
31:18He does never cross the river.
31:24Tony, don't stop.
31:25You gotta keep on going.
31:26Because otherwise, you don't want to get stuck.
31:37Tony, don't stop.
31:38You gotta keep on going.
31:40Tony Beat's grandson, Egan, is almost done with his epic 10-hour journey to deliver the family's 950 excavator to
31:49the corner cut on the Indian River.
32:05We'll get it there eventually. Slow and steady.
32:21We'll get it there eventually. Slow and steady.
32:23Yeah, Egan, drive her up.
32:25Egan, drive her up.
32:26Keep her coming.
32:33The young fella did pretty damn good.
32:38That'll be good, Egan.
32:40Leave her right there, Egan.
32:41That'll be good.
32:43Good job.
32:44Took a while, huh?
32:46Yeah.
32:46The most boringest f***ing job you've probably had in a while.
32:49Yeah.
32:50Perfect. Let's go.
32:54Now, two days behind schedule, Tony needs the 950 reassembled and in the corner cut, fast.
33:03It's here.
33:04Put the f***ing thing together.
33:05It's ready to go.
33:07Finally, the 950 arrived from Paradise Hill.
33:10It's only sad to put it together as fast as possible because it was a lot of trouble to get
33:13it over here.
33:21This piece is just shy of 21,000 pounds.
33:30It's going in.
33:33Whoa!
33:37Just a tiny bit more.
33:39Whoa!
33:39That's good there.
33:41She is all the way home.
33:42Someday everybody gets lucky, huh?
33:46The boom is connected.
33:48So now we're going to connect this thing.
33:56Yeah!
33:59Just...
34:00Yeah, it's ready.
34:01Yeah.
34:02Oh, yeah!
34:03Oh, yeah!
34:05Yeah!
34:05That's her.
34:06There we go.
34:08Fire it up.
34:11For the last step, Tony and Egan attach the ten-yard bucket.
34:17I'm six feet six, so you can see how big it is.
34:20Are you really six foot six leg?
34:22Eh, not really, but that's what the girls like, isn't it?
34:27Well, the 950's got a ten-yard bucket on it, so that's our biggest one.
34:32Three buckets and you got a truck full.
34:36So Egan has a pretty good operate.
34:38Hold it right there.
34:39Put your boom down.
34:41Perfect, almost.
34:42Good.
34:42Hold it right there.
34:47Anyway, that bucket went down good, huh?
34:48Yeah.
34:49Piece of cake.
34:50Now here's a hooker in there.
34:52Bingo.
34:53Done.
34:55So the bucket is on.
34:56Take it in the cat.
34:58And then we'll just start loading some trucks with it.
35:02So, let's see how many buckets it takes versus the 349.
35:07I mean, by the time I drop three buckets in this 40-ton truck, the truck is full.
35:14So you should be able to load this truck way on beneath a minute instead of two minutes to load
35:19the truck.
35:19Off you go.
35:21Done.
35:25Tony's race to open the corner cut is now in overdrive.
35:29That should speed things up.
35:31Now you're moving some dirt.
35:46Things have been going really good down here at Ken and Stewart's.
35:50You know, Parker has big goals for this season.
35:54There's just a lot of sluicing that's got to happen if we're going to get all this done in time.
35:59At Parker Schnabel's Indian River Claim, Foreman Mitch Blaschke is back from a couple of days away.
36:08Why aren't we sluicing?
36:09To discover Roxanne isn't sluicing, thanks to its bearings failing.
36:16Well, buddy, that's not the way we want to see a wash plant.
36:19It's not the way I wanted you to come back either.
36:21And I leave for two days to go see the family and come back and you got a broken wash
36:26plant, buddy.
36:26I know.
36:27We just need to try and get everything set up the best we can so once we start this thing
36:30we can just get rolling.
36:32Why'd you break it?
36:33It wasn't me, buddy.
36:35How do you like it?
36:40We got our bearing housings all ready and then hopefully they're going to drop right in.
36:44Having removed the shaft from Roxanne, mechanics Bill and Justin turned to fitting the new bearings into the housing.
36:53When they stick, it is a major catastrophe.
36:57But there's an issue. The bearings are about one thousandth of an inch larger than the housing and won't slide
37:04into place.
37:06Let's do this.
37:10It's going to be hot.
37:12To make them fit, Bill and Justin first freeze the bearings, shrinking them in size, before heating the housing to
37:22450 degrees.
37:24You heat up your housing, which will make it expand, and then you cool your bearing, which will make it
37:29contract.
37:30In doing that, you can buy yourself enough space to drop this in.
37:34You've got about 15 to 20 seconds to try and get that bearing in before it starts to warm up
37:41and expand.
37:43It is a one shot deal.
37:45He's always stressed because a one wrong move will cost us a $5,000 bearing.
37:51If this doesn't work, Roxanne could be out of action for weeks and cost Parker millions in lost gold.
38:00Yeah, we're almost there.
38:03Okay, I'll shut this one off.
38:05You can keep that one going.
38:30There we go.
38:34There's one little buddy.
38:37This one is successful.
38:40And that's how we like to do them.
38:42Now you can see it thawing.
38:46One more.
39:00Well, little buddy, it's a happy day.
39:06You can have your freezer back.
39:08Yeah, groceries are coming tomorrow.
39:18Hell yeah.
39:20You know, out of all the years we've been doing this, this is probably one of the biggest breakdowns we've
39:24ever had on a wash plant.
39:26And, you know, it's taken a lot of time here to pull this thing apart, fix it, get it all
39:30back together.
39:31The bearing is seated safely.
39:35The tarp's coming off.
39:38The big question is, how's she going to shake?
39:41She's all you.
39:42Do I have to do the honors?
39:43You can.
39:45There we go.
39:53Sounds good.
39:54Sounds good.
39:55Sounds nice and quiet.
39:57Now this wash plant is ready to go.
40:07The shaker deck looks great.
40:09Sluice runs are running really nice here.
40:11So I think Roxanne is back as good as new.
40:14And we got ourselves a mount of painter.
40:17Time to get through it.
40:17Turn it into some gold.
40:18Make up for some lost time.
40:20After two days down and losing over $200,000 in production, Roxanne's back in the game and can keep delivering
40:30for this week's Gold Wave.
40:35Nice job, man.
40:47How's four wash plants treating you, Chris?
40:50Oh, it's a little bit hectic.
40:52I'm curious to what it's going to be like when you get a full week's run with no breakdowns.
40:58Dude, yeah.
40:59I can't leave you alone for five minutes, man.
41:01My toe's still black from that rock you threw at it.
41:07Surprisingly, that's the first time we've had any sort of problem like that in 13 years.
41:13That was definitely one of the biggest.
41:15We are very fortunate to have really good mechanics here.
41:18Yeah.
41:19Well, it sounds like you guys had all the fun we needed for the week because things up here went
41:23just fine.
41:25Nothing to report.
41:29Roxanne has a few hours on it down at Indian River.
41:32In their first week of running four plants, the crew hauled in 669 ounces.
41:3820, 30, 40, ooh, 49.6.
41:46Got to run to make gold, man.
41:48Yeah.
41:49At least there's something.
41:51Now, the gold from Dominion Creek.
41:54Bridge cut, Bob.
41:56Let's see how it did.
41:5820, 40, 60, 100, 130, 140, 147.05.
42:07That's not bad.
42:09Yeah.
42:09Then we got the golden mile.
42:10This is the two plants, right?
42:12Well, here we go.
42:13Next, the combined gold from Slucifer and Big Red.
42:1760, 100, 130, 160, 200, 30, 232.05.
42:28Yeah.
42:29This week we have 428.7 ounces.
42:32Worth just over one and a half million dollars, but over 200 ounces less than last week's haul.
42:40Last week, we had 669.85 ounces.
42:45Significant drop.
42:46Yeah.
42:47But the season total, though, is 5,350.25.
42:52Wow.
42:53So we broke the halfway mark.
42:55That's good.
42:56We're up and running.
42:57Yeah.
42:58Yeah.
42:58It's just going to be nice to get four plants going full time.
43:02Yeah.
43:02Which is going to be hard to do.
43:04You know.
43:05We won't leave Brennan home alone anymore.
43:07Yeah.
43:09All right.
43:09Thanks, guys.
43:10Good job, you guys.
43:11Let's double this next week, eh?
43:13Right.
43:13Sounds good.
43:16How we're going to manage to have as much uptime as we can with this many wash plants running,
43:22you know, that's going to determine our gold total at the end of the year because we have tons of
43:26ground open.
43:26So the whole name of the game is keeping wash plants running and this week is a pretty poor example
43:32of that.
43:33But I don't think it's, you know, I don't think it's like a systematic issue on our part.
43:40I think we'll be able to keep things running.
43:41We'll see.
43:51Hello.
43:53Ready?
43:54Yeah, we're ready.
43:55How are you guys ready?
43:59The 950 finally got here.
44:02Well, that long walk.
44:03Let's put that away.
44:04It was Egan that walked it.
44:05Yeah.
44:05And the little is pretty good yet, too.
44:07My dream is to see all my kids operate on one big line.
44:12You've got problems, lady.
44:15Okay, Monica.
44:16Can you bring any gold?
44:18We've got a pair in all week.
44:19So there should be some gold to show for.
44:21Sluice-A-Lot first.
44:23Sluice-A-Lot first.
44:2510.
44:26Tony's two plant blitz on the river cut churned through pay without stopping.
44:31And last week, Sluice-A-Lot delivered 297 ounces alone.
44:37290, 300, 319, 06.
44:43That's not bad.
44:44That's a nice little hole.
44:45Now should we see a find-a-lot, found-a-lot more gold?
44:47Sure, do it.
44:48Pour in.
44:49Let's see what you got.
44:50Brand new plant, find-a-lot, produced 84 ounces of gold from two days running last week.
44:5730, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120, 160, 180, 200, 240, 280, 300, 330, 339.68.
45:15With just two plants, Tony's hauled in 658 ounces, worth over two and a quarter million dollars.
45:24It's his biggest gold way of the season and brings his total to 3,939 ounces.
45:32That's a lot of bucks today.
45:34I don't have no problems getting rid of it.
45:37When's the last time you got a new shirt?
45:39This morning.
45:40I think everybody should go back to work.
45:42I think I'm gonna have a nap.
45:44You go for it.
45:55That pay pile was huge.
45:56Yeah, it was.
45:57Rick thought 400 ounces was gonna come out of that pay pile, so.
46:00Even though we only got 110 ounces last week, but maybe we'll get a little bit more this week.
46:06So, Bailey, how'd you do with getting pay this week?
46:09There is no pay this week because someone had to keep breaking trucks so I couldn't reach my goal.
46:15You have one job.
46:16It's to drive trucks, not break them.
46:17It was a task that, you know, I thought I could accomplish, but at the end of the day,
46:20there's a lot more material there than I expected.
46:23There you can see.
46:24Oh, you guys are cozy.
46:25What's going on, Rick?
46:26I snuggled right in.
46:27What's up, dudes?
46:28After pivoting back to Vegas Valley, Rick's eager to find out how much gold was left in the pay pile
46:35from last season.
46:37So, the nice thing is that it did not quite fit in the one flask.
46:41So, there's 100 ounces there and we got a bunch in here.
46:45Here we go.
46:5010, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, we're at 110, 120, 135, 140, 147.4.
47:09Nice.
47:11Rick's weekly total is 247, worth $866,000, his biggest gold weigh of the season.
47:24That's way better.
47:25One week.
47:25That's good.
47:26That's, it's shy of 400, but not by much.
47:29No.
47:30Rick's season total is now 437 ounces.
47:35You've obviously proven that there's gold in the bottom of that hole.
47:39Bailey just needs to dig that out.
47:41We gotta get to pay, get to it quick, get to it safely.
47:44We've been there before, but...
47:46We've always finished strong.
47:47Yeah.
47:48You guys know what it's gonna take.
47:49A lot of work.
47:49But I know you're up for it.
47:51Thanks for trusting us.
47:52Absolutely.
47:53Thanks for trusting me.
47:54Cheers.
47:54Cheers.
47:57Man down.
47:58Man down.
47:59Cheers.
47:59Cheers.
47:59Bye.
