00:00On my walk to the train this morning, I was greeted by a common sight, a familiar New York hazard,
00:05a pile of dog poop on the sidewalk. And as many of you remember, when the winter storm froze our
00:11streets earlier this week, it also uncovered a not-so-hidden reality. Far too many New Yorkers
00:17are still not picking up after their dogs. That's why today I'm proud to introduce legislation
00:23creating a citywide public education campaign to make sure New Yorkers know how to properly dispose
00:30of dog waste and understand the real public health risks when they don't. Because being a good
00:38neighbor means doing your civic duty. So to all New Yorkers, scoop the poop. Thank you.
