00:00Amazon is reportedly exploring a reboot of the hit reality show The Apprentice.
00:05You probably remember it.
00:06The original host went on to two bigger things.
00:09Remember when our president was a reality star?
00:13My, how things have changed.
00:14The Apprentice reboot, however, won't change too much.
00:18It would still call Donald Trump its hosts.
00:20Don Jr., that is.
00:22Sources say there have been internal discussions about reviving the series,
00:26though they caution planning is still in the very early stages and claim
00:29no one has even reached out to the Trump family about it.
00:33So, okay, naming Don Jr. the successor might be a touch premature at this point.
00:38Now, if the project moves forward, it would stream on Prime Video.
00:42Amazon inherited the rights to the show when it acquired MGM in 2022.
00:46A source close to Don Jr. says he first learned of the possibility along with the rest of us
00:50when the Wall Street Journal reported on the rumblings Wednesday.
00:53An Amazon spokesperson told The Post that the show is not in active development,
00:58but did admit, quote,
00:59since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions
01:02about what's next for The Apprentice as a property.
01:05The original series premiered in 2004, which seems like forever ago,
01:09and drew as many as 20 million viewers during the height of the reality TV boom.
