00:01This program documents actual homicide investigations.
00:05Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced,
00:07and all suspects shown are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
00:22A suburban neighborhood on Tulsa's east side.
00:27911, I need police, and it's an emergency.
00:32There were just shots fired from a semi-automatic weapon from two cars that just headed east.
00:43As police and EMS rushed to the scene.
00:48911, do you need police, fire, or medical?
00:50Police and medical.
00:52There was a shooting outside my house, and somebody inside my house got hit.
00:57Can you get somebody here, please?
00:59We already have help on the way.
01:02Police! Police!
01:04Where's he at? Where's he at?
01:06He's not in the head.
01:10Police! Police!
01:16First responders start CPR.
01:20Hey! Hey!
01:22This is Greg!
01:23Greg!
01:24Greg!
01:25Come on, Jim! Come on, man!
01:26Gene, come on, brother!
01:28You mean he's 10-7?
01:29Yeah.
01:30But they're unable to save him.
01:33Gene!
01:34Oh!
01:35Oh, hard time!
01:43For homicide detectives, their chance of solving a murder is cut in half if they don't get a lead within
01:51the first 48 hours.
01:52This is Cine Justice.
02:07This is true.
02:12What is that?
02:14And then what I want to see when I pull up in front of the house.
02:17Detective Reggie Warren will lead the investigation.
02:21Up next.
02:23Where's the body at?
02:25Right inside.
02:26He's laying in the front door.
02:29What name do we have?
02:31Greg Lamont.
02:3441-year-old Gregory Lamont Dumas Jr. was born and raised in Tulsa.
02:39Known as G, he worked as a custodian at the Bank of Oklahoma Center and was enrolled in welding school.
02:46He leaves behind his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
02:53The victim, was he living there?
02:56Greg lives on the other side of Harvard.
02:59Greg lives four blocks away and is friends with the homeowner's son.
03:03I'd like to go ahead and look at the victim.
03:05All right.
03:06Yeah.
03:18Greg was shot once in the back of the head.
03:25The team finds three 9-millimeter shell casings on the front porch.
03:30The victim might have had a gun.
03:33Did you find a gun?
03:34No.
03:36There are holes everywhere.
03:39The front of the house was struck multiple times.
03:46What caliber cases do we have right here?
03:49In the front yard.
03:522-2-3.
03:53The team discovers eight .223 rifle casings.
03:57Someone is shooting back.
04:00Gershaw's .223 shot at the house.
04:03They're spraying and praying.
04:06It looks like there are probably a lot of rain doorbell cameras around it.
04:10If you've got people, yeah, can you have your cameras ready?
04:13Yeah.
04:14Okay.
04:14Thanks, Dennis.
04:22Homeowner is sitting underneath the carport.
04:24Okay.
04:24The man who owns the house where Greg was killed was sitting outside when the shooting occurred.
04:30Is the homeowner okay?
04:32The homeowner is okay, yes.
04:33Cool.
04:36Homeowner, it says, a white male wearing dark clothing was standing outside of his fence.
04:41Okay.
04:42He says he sees a dark SUV pull-up and then another dark SUV pull-up right behind it.
04:48Okay.
04:49White male walks over to the SUV.
04:51He says, here's two to three shots.
04:54White male starts running towards the house.
04:56He says, the driver of the dark sedan starts firing at the white male right into the house.
05:01Okay.
05:02He says, white male runs through the front door.
05:04The homeowner said, the white male ran through his house and out the back door.
05:09And then he said, he's seen the two cars drive off.
05:13Did these people claim just a stranger ran at my house?
05:17Casper has to be known at the time.
05:19He said he's known him for two years, don't know his name.
05:22Take him downtown.
05:24The homeowner and his son, who was inside the house when Greg was shot, agree to talk at homicide.
05:32Then.
05:33There's two videos.
05:34Okay.
05:35That's the second vehicle.
05:38Patrol officers recover surveillance video from two homes down the street from the crime scene.
05:43Okay, great.
05:46These are the vehicles.
05:50Gray Tahoe.
05:51Yep.
05:51With the ball hitch.
05:57And then the other one is some kind of gray or blue Chevy Equinox looking thing.
06:04This video came from a house across the street, a few doors down.
06:09You can't see the actual shoe, but you can see the driver of the Equinox wearing a pink shirt driving
06:13away.
06:16One vehicle is going to be a newer model Tahoe with a ball hitch.
06:20The team issues a bolo for the Tahoe and the Equinox seen in the video.
06:26We got really good video.
06:27We got witnesses.
06:29And so we're going to go down and talk to them, try to get some clarity and try to get
06:31some suspects identified.
06:34We're going to head downtown and try to piece this together.
06:44We're back at homicide.
06:46I'm going to talk to the homeowner where this occurred.
06:48We'll see what he has to say.
06:54I'm here to get your statement, and then we'll get you back home.
06:58Okay.
06:58So in your own words, tell me what you saw happen.
07:03I was sitting out on the driveway.
07:06The SUV pulled up, and a car pulled up behind him.
07:11Then I saw Casper.
07:14The homeowner says Casper, a friend of his son, was standing by the fence in front of his house.
07:20I don't know who he is.
07:22But he doesn't know Casper's real name.
07:26He went out to the SUV.
07:28Okay.
07:29And he come back toward my house.
07:32He had a white envelope.
07:34Like, you know, like a mailing envelope.
07:37He came back up toward my house.
07:41And then boom, boom, boom.
07:43He says Casper suddenly fired three shots at the vehicles in the street.
07:49And then I saw the person in the second vehicle.
07:52They got out and went to the back of their vehicle.
07:55Okay.
07:56They were putting a weapon together.
07:59And then came up and started firing at him.
08:03Boom, boom, boom.
08:04Trying to, I think, shoot him as he went into the house.
08:08And that's probably what got Greg.
08:12Could you say if it was a rifle or a handgun that he put together?
08:15It wasn't a handgun.
08:17Okay.
08:18Where does Casper run?
08:19Does he run into the house?
08:21I know he did.
08:22Okay.
08:22He came out where I was sitting.
08:24And he went through the backyard and I assume over the fence.
08:29They took off.
08:30They took off.
08:30The cuters took off.
08:32Greg, our victim.
08:34G wasn't out at the cars.
08:37No.
08:38I don't think Greg has anything to do with anything.
08:41Okay.
08:41I think he was just very unlucky.
08:46Okay.
08:46I think that's all.
08:48I appreciate your cooperation.
08:50Okay.
08:53Talked to a witness here.
08:55Says Casper was the one that was shooting at our suspects.
08:59The nine-millimeter case scenes on the front porch are going to be Casper's.
09:03But it was real nine.
09:06Got to find Casper, the friendly ghost.
09:09Ryden runs the nickname Casper in the police database.
09:13Okay.
09:14We found him.
09:17Casper is 25-year-old Noah Chrisman.
09:20He is a father and has another child on the way.
09:24Chrisman has multiple convictions, including transporting a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle
09:29and threatening an act of violence.
09:32So I know who Casper is.
09:35Casper knows who he was dealing with.
09:38The team will put out a bolo for Noah Chrisman.
09:42Okay.
09:43I have to interview the homeowner, sir.
09:45And we'll go from there.
09:55I'm Detective Ryden.
09:57Greg didn't do anything wrong.
09:58Oh, no.
10:00You'd like to solve Greg's case.
10:02So tell me about him.
10:03How do you know him?
10:04I met him to a friend of ours about five years ago.
10:08And we got real tight, real close, back real quick.
10:12What kind of person was he?
10:14Great.
10:15I mean, he'll help everybody.
10:19So let's go in today.
10:20Yeah.
10:22Casper.
10:23I didn't even know he was here today.
10:25Like, I woke up to him saying, hey, what are you doing?
10:29He says he was asleep on the living room couch
10:31when Noah Chrisman and his girlfriend stopped by.
10:35She's a good friend of ours.
10:37She's like my niece.
10:38And she's pregnant.
10:40Was she there when this happened?
10:42Yes.
10:44That's news to me.
10:45Okay.
10:47Casper goes outside, meets someone.
10:49Yeah.
10:50Okay.
10:51Do you hear anything that alerts you
10:53that something is going outside?
10:54Yeah.
10:55Gotcha.
10:56How many, approximately, did you hear?
10:58Three.
11:00He says after the gunshots,
11:01Casper ran into the house.
11:04And I was like, what the hell?
11:05He said, sorry.
11:07And then he went like that.
11:09He saw a gun tucked into Casper's waistband.
11:13I think it was a nine, of course.
11:17That's when I heard pow coming from the road.
11:20Did you hear more gunshots?
11:22There were six what I heard.
11:24I was like, oh, and I turned.
11:27I was yelling duck.
11:28And I bumped into Greg.
11:29And I went down.
11:31And I saw him fall.
11:46Okay.
11:47Okay.
11:48Um, so you saw Greg fall?
11:50I turned, and then right there next to me.
11:53Okay.
11:53He says Greg collapsed onto the floor next to him.
11:57That's when I seen, oh, there was just, I mean, his blood was just.
12:03Okay.
12:11Where does Casper go when you guys are getting shot at?
12:15He went out the back door and over the fence.
12:18He says Casper fled the house with his girlfriend.
12:23How would I get a hold of Casper?
12:25I don't know.
12:26Like, how do you get a hold of him?
12:27He just comes, he comes over on the foot or he gets dropped off.
12:31Okay, sit tight, and then we'll get you guys out here.
12:41Right now, let me make contact with mom, see where she is, and we'll go to her.
12:51Jovita, my name is Detective Warren.
12:53Are you at home right now?
12:55I need to come talk to you.
13:04My mom called me, and she told me that the police had just been to the house, that my
13:10brother was dead, that he was shot, minding his own business, and he lost his life.
13:16I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
13:18I was asking her, I was like, are you sure?
13:20She said, my son is gone.
13:22Your brother is gone.
13:25It's been really hard for us to come together and not see him here.
13:32My mom, she has his pictures on her phone, and she has to keep it close to her so she
13:38can
13:38see his pictures every day.
13:39Or it's nerve-wracking for her not to be able to at least look at his pictures.
13:44Greg played a big part in our lives.
13:47He was caring, loving, understanding, patient.
13:51And for him to die the way he did, it's just unbelievable.
13:57He was just going over to visit a friend.
14:01To lose him.
14:04I can't even express the words.
14:07He didn't deserve what he went through.
14:10And just to see him not coming at my door no more, it hurts.
14:17No matter how much time you spend with somebody and you think it's enough time, but it never
14:23is when they're gone.
14:24He was my brother, and I'll always let him.
14:35As detectives return from notifying Greg's family.
14:40This appears to be the same Tahoe from the original rent camera.
14:46Patrol officers spot an SUV matching one of the suspect vehicles, just blocks from the crime scene.
14:52No otheritical police.
14:55Driver, turn off that car hose.
14:59Driver, step out.
15:00Nothing's been your hands.
15:05Walk straight back to that side of my car.
15:08Walk to me.
15:11What the fuck the is going on?
15:16Passenger, your turn.
15:17Step out of the car.
15:18It's not your hands.
15:19Right now.
15:33That's Marshall Eileen Hayes, a 40-year-old.
15:36Clear.
15:41Officers, search the Tahoe.
15:45There's two three casings.
15:52There's a gun in there.
15:56It's an AR.
15:59I think our pink shirt's going to be the Equinox driver.
16:07What's your name?
16:08Chris Leiter.
16:1020-year-old Christopher Leiter and his 21-year-old brother, James Leiter, are from Oklahoma City.
16:18Yo, bro, this is not legal.
16:20This is legal. Stop talking.
16:23Right now, we're investigating a crime that occurred just down the street.
16:27Right now, you're being detained.
16:29There's some people that want to talk to you, so they're going to transport you down to the detention division.
16:33Should we talk with my brother at the same time?
16:35No.
16:45Four hours since Greg was killed.
16:48Both of these guys were from the Oklahoma City area, so I called Oklahoma City PD and got a little
16:53bit of information on them.
16:54Chris Leiter.
16:57Chris Leiter.
16:57Christopher Leiter owns a mobile detailing and pressure washing business.
17:01He has no prior convictions.
17:03His brother, James Leiter.
17:06James Leiter has prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and knowingly receiving stolen
17:14property.
17:16I'm going to go try to interview those guys and see what we can learn.
17:23I'm Detective Warren.
17:25It's Detective Lansdown.
17:27Warren and Detective Lacey Lansdown start with James.
17:32Give us a rundown on what happened this afternoon.
17:37Um, I came down here to sell him an iPhone 15 for $1,200 unlocked.
17:42I brought my brother with me because, like, I felt uneasy dealing with Noah, you know what I mean?
17:48I know he likes guns.
17:51So I had my brother follow me in another car with a gun just to be safe, you know?
17:57Tahoe, I was driving.
17:58I was driving the 2019 Chevy Equinox.
18:01He was driving.
18:02I came down here.
18:03I gave him the iPhone.
18:05Noah, I handed me the money, and I noticed it was fake $100 bills on top.
18:11Trying to make it look like a large sum of money, you know?
18:13Just pass it off quickly.
18:15My brother's behind me in a black car outside of the house.
18:19So he gave me the fake money.
18:20I hollered at my brother through the passenger window of the Tahoe.
18:23Like, bro, let's get him.
18:26Casper started shooting at us.
18:42I was in the Tahoe, you know, like, dug down.
18:51My brother ducked back behind his car to make sure he didn't get shot.
18:55Noah was trying to, like, run inside.
18:58He shot the radiator.
19:00He says one of Noah's bullets struck the radiator of the Equinox.
19:05It leaked fluid out there.
19:07My brother grabbed the firearm.
19:10He said he had to put the clip in there, cock it back, and load it.
19:13And then he said he started firing back at Noah.
19:16You did not shoot?
19:18No.
19:18No, I was in a totally different car.
19:21Let me ask you this.
19:22How many times do you think your brother shot?
19:24Ten times.
19:27Where's his car right now?
19:29My brother's car is messed up.
19:31The car wasn't going nowhere, so I left it at the AutoZone.
19:35My brother had got into my SUV.
19:37He had grabbed a duffel bag.
19:40Mm-hmm.
19:40I think it had a gun in there, and threw it in my car.
19:44I actually called Noah.
19:46Mm-hmm.
19:47And I said, bro, what the f***?
19:48You know what I mean?
19:50And then he said that his homie was shot, and I thought he was lying.
19:54I went back towards that area to clarify.
19:59That's why I was right back there in the neighborhood again.
20:02So you came back, and you saw all the police cars and all the stuff like that?
20:05Yeah, I see the police cars, and my heart sank.
20:10Well, here's where it gets real stick.
20:11Like, somebody did get shot, and that person did not survive.
20:17He's dead.
20:19All over a cell phone.
20:23I know, like, man, I didn't do nothing wrong.
20:27Like, I'm not a killer.
20:30You know what I mean?
20:34Thank you for being honest with us.
20:36Nah, man, I'm trying to tell you guys as much as possible.
20:39I appreciate it.
20:40I'm going to shake your hand.
20:41Like, because I appreciate you telling us and trying to clear some stuff up.
20:44I'm going to go to prison for the rest of my life over an iPhone that went wrong.
20:52We gotta talk.
20:53Yeah, we gotta do some talking, okay?
20:55Sit tight, buddy, okay?
21:03I think he's being truthful.
21:05I think Casper probably did shoot first, because my guy says, here's three shots.
21:09At that point, Casper comes in the house and has a gun.
21:13But the shooting has stopped, and the threat is over.
21:17Your boy then went to the back of their car, got a rifle, shot into a house that's occupied
21:22by lots of people, and kills Greg.
21:26The shots have stopped, and now you're loading up to retaliate.
21:29Exactly.
21:31So if there was a lag, then the self-defense stuff goes out of the window.
21:35And both Chris Leiter and Noah Christman will be arrested for a felony murder.
21:43But James said Casper tried to rip him off of an iPhone.
21:46My thing is, if James is there to only sell an iPhone, and his brother was the only one
21:50to find it to the house, then James wouldn't be charged.
21:53He'd just be considered a witness.
21:55But he needs to do the timeline.
21:57I get that clarified.
21:59Every second counts in this case.
22:09I need to clarify.
22:10A couple of things.
22:13After Casper stopped shooting, you guys were ducking down.
22:16Obviously, you were ducking down.
22:17Your brother was probably ducking down.
22:19And then he clicked in his head to go grab the gun out of the front.
22:22OK.
22:24It took him a couple seconds to get the mag in there.
22:27And as he's getting it, I was like, bro, come on, come on, come on,
22:31hollering out of my door and shot at.
22:34But he actually loaded the gun and started shooting back at Casper.
22:39So here's the thing, there is witnesses that saw what happened.
22:47Casper had already made it into the house.
22:50Oh, he did?
22:51Yes, before you guys start shooting.
22:55Hey, so I took him, I took my brother a couple seconds.
22:57Right.
22:57So that would make sense.
22:59Casper was into the house, took your brother a couple seconds to get out to load the gun.
23:03So he wasn't, he wasn't putting the gun together as you were taking fire.
23:07No.
23:10They weren't firing bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang like at each other.
23:14It wasn't like a gun battle.
23:15Like, like, like the Wild West.
23:18It was a lag in between, am I correct?
23:20It was, it was a lag, yes.
23:35Once Casper stopped, your brother put the gun together and returned fire.
23:39Yes.
23:40Okay.
23:48Can you go talk to my brother?
23:49He'll tell you a lot more too.
23:53I'll talk to him in just a second, okay?
24:00Warren and Ryden turned to James's brother, Christopher.
24:06Hey, Chris, how you doing, man?
24:07I've had better days.
24:09I understand that.
24:11So I got a question, like, is there a chance of me going home tonight?
24:15Well, here's the thing.
24:16We can't make any decisions until we put all this stuff together.
24:20Tell us what happened today.
24:22I followed my brother out here just to make sure everything goes well.
24:26He doesn't want to get killed and then nobody be there to see it.
24:30I keep my gun in the trunk, the clip in front of it, and the gun over here.
24:36What kind of weapon did you have?
24:38It's an AR pistol.
24:39It looks like an American flag.
24:41And is it loaded or is it unloaded?
24:44It's unloaded completely, and then you got a mag next to the case.
24:48Was the magazine loaded?
24:49Magazine was loaded, yeah.
24:51Okay.
24:51You usually want to keep your mag loaded.
24:54Yeah, why have a magazine if it's not loaded, right?
24:56Okay.
24:58I travel legally.
24:59I just wanted you to know how to keep my gun.
25:02Pulling up there, I thought that was Noah's house.
25:05Okay.
25:05Does he have a nickname or anything that he goes by?
25:07Casper.
25:09He comes out.
25:10He gives my brother fake money for the iPhone.
25:13My brother jumps out of the car and says, get him, get him.
25:15I thought he meant tackle.
25:17Where was Casper at?
25:18He was by his fence, and then as soon as he seen me get out of my car, gunshots were
25:23blown.
25:24You know, if your car got hit?
25:25Yeah, my car got hit.
25:27I was shooting water out.
25:28It's leaking.
25:30Something clicked to me.
25:31I run to my back to the trunk, and then he was shooting at me, so I shot back.
25:38How long do you think it took you to exit car, go to the trunk?
25:43Probably one minute.
25:45It took you about a minute to get your gun?
25:47Yeah, it took a while.
25:49Okay.
25:50Okay.
25:51I don't want to kill nobody at all.
25:53I didn't even want to hurt nobody.
25:55I was just trying to hit the house, because at the point that you shot my $30,000 car, I'm
25:59not trying to hit you.
26:00I just want your house to be okay.
26:03Okay, that's real interesting.
26:05Once those shots stopped, you felt you were able to go get your gun and return fire hitting
26:12an individual in the house.
26:17Let me ask this.
26:18I'm smart.
26:20Those are like real bricks, and the bullets can just go through.
26:24What else do houses have?
26:27Insulation and sheetrock.
26:29What do you look out of a house?
26:30Windows.
26:31Yeah, you had a window.
26:33I'm not saying went through the brick.
26:35I don't went through a window.
26:36There's a dead guy.
26:40So far, what's it looking like?
26:41Because honestly, like, after I just got shot, I started checking my body.
26:46Honestly, like, I was looking around.
26:47I was making sure that I wasn't hit.
26:49He shot at you guys.
26:51However, you had to physically think, let me get my gun.
26:55Get out.
26:56Open the trunk.
26:57Open the case where your gun is in.
27:01Load it.
27:03Make it ready.
27:04And then fire back.
27:06So here's the thing.
27:08You weren't getting out of your car to get that gun while you were taking fire.
27:12You were ducking.
27:14No, I was.
27:15I was on my way to the back.
27:18Honestly, it probably happened faster, man.
27:20I'm gonna say 45 seconds.
27:22Well, Chris, sit tight for just a second, okay?
27:24I'm gonna go talk to my partner.
27:33Your boy's going to jail, Reggie.
27:34Yeah, I know it.
27:37The immediate threat was over.
27:39Casper had already taken off running.
27:41And Chris admitted that he was a shooter.
27:45Multiple rounds went through the house.
27:48One, sadly enough, struck the victim in the head.
27:53Lacey, get the all-waving stuff signed.
27:56DNA, car and phone.
27:59Yeah.
28:10There's a couple things we need to get from you.
28:12We need to process these cars, so we'll need to get a search waiver for those.
28:16We do need to look into that because that's how you're communicating with Casper.
28:20We need a search waiver for that.
28:21It'll speed things up a lot quicker.
28:26I'm going to be honest with you, man.
28:28I'm worried about my cell phone, you know what I mean?
28:30Why?
28:34So, let's say, like, I wasn't completely, like, given, like, an iPhone, you know what I mean?
28:38What if it was something else?
28:41I would appreciate you being honest with me about it.
28:46Oh, I feel so sick.
29:03You've been cooperative. I don't know why you're concerned about your phone.
29:14It's in the messages, you know what I mean? You're going to see it.
29:18I lied about the iPhone.
29:21So what?
29:23So, what if it was drugs?
29:26Okay.
29:28I just don't want to go to jail.
29:31What kind of drugs?
29:32Smalley.
29:34How much weight talking with this Molly?
29:37It was Molly and a couple other things.
29:40Okay, so Molly and what else?
29:44You're doing good.
29:45You come clean, come clean.
29:47This is going to put me in jail for distribution, though, yet?
29:50I don't know.
29:53We're worried about somebody being dead.
29:57So, just come clean about what all you were selling.
30:02I thought of some acid, some Molly.
30:05Molly, what else?
30:07Adderall.
30:08Adderall, okay.
30:10It was $4,000 worth of time.
30:13Did you give him these drugs?
30:14Or is it still in your car?
30:18Yes, it was done.
30:19So he has them then.
30:21Okay.
30:23I don't need probation.
30:25Huh.
30:27Yeah, man, that's not good.
30:30How many, like, years is that?
30:32For drugs?
30:33I don't know.
30:34It could be anywhere from five to life.
30:39Did this just f*** me?
30:40No, it didn't.
30:41Oh, my God.
30:46Will you ask if I could just get my brother off?
30:49Of course I will.
30:49This is...
30:50I don't know if I'm ever going to see him again.
30:52He's 20.
30:53And I'm probably going, you know?
30:56Yeah, I'll be right back.
31:04I'm trying to get some search waivers,
31:06and he spilled the beans.
31:09If you're selling an aggravated trafficking amount of drugs
31:12and a murder happens...
31:13I have an innocent person.
31:14That is called a felony murder, and everybody's going.
31:17I mean, he was fine when it was an iPhone.
31:19And now he's not.
31:21He is now a felony murder suspect.
31:26They're both going to jail.
31:30Since he told the truth,
31:31he did ask if he could hug each other.
31:34Okay.
31:35But they want a hug, and they can hug,
31:37and they'll probably say have some more stupid stuff on tape.
31:39Perfect.
31:48James, here, I'm going to have you sit down.
31:52So here's the deal.
31:54You both are going to jail today.
31:57What are the charges we're going to jail for tonight?
32:00It's called felony murder.
32:02Both of us?
32:03Both.
32:03You're in trouble because you're part of it.
32:05You set up a drug deal.
32:06Your brother backed you and had a gun.
32:08And then during that drug deal,
32:09an innocent person got killed.
32:11I admit, you guys did get shot at.
32:13But Noah's going to get charged with murder
32:15just like you and your brother.
32:18So rarely would I do this,
32:19but you guys seem like brothers
32:20that aren't going to cause a problem.
32:22So I'll let you guys sit in the same room.
32:24Okay.
32:34Come here.
32:37Sorry.
32:38Probably we're both on this, bro.
32:41No, you didn't, bro.
32:42Don't do that.
32:43No, it didn't.
32:44And we're getting out of this, bro.
32:49Listen, it'll be probably the last time
33:11I think I have a really good chance
33:20to beat this.
33:21I think they had their hammers.
33:23Both of us.
33:31Screaming, I didn't think
33:32that was the killing.
33:34Why did God do this to us?
33:39I miss you.
33:40I love you, bro.
33:42It seems like Chris and James
33:44have no remorse for what they did.
33:46They just want to beat the case.
33:48They really seem likable
33:49when you're talking to them,
33:50so it's a little disappointing
33:52that they don't understand
33:52what they did was really bad
33:53and it led to someone being killed.
33:56They'll figure it out eventually.
34:02Okay.
34:04Chris Leiter and James Leiter,
34:06they ultimately told the truth.
34:08Okay.
34:09We've come a long way.
34:11I got Chris and James Leiter in custody,
34:14but there's still a lot more at stake
34:15because Crispin or Casper
34:18is armed with a 9mm
34:20and if he can shoot at them,
34:22he can shoot at anybody else,
34:23so we've got to get him off the streets.
34:26He was the one that shot first
34:28and if Nora hadn't fired first,
34:30none of this would have happened.
34:32Greg would still be alive.
34:34I am actually typing a warrant
34:36for his arrest now,
34:38so I'll turn our fugitive warrants unit on to this.
34:43Hopefully we'll have him
34:44into custody tomorrow.
34:45It's a very, very important part
34:46of this investigation.
34:57The next day,
34:59the team scours the city
35:01for Noah Chrisman.
35:05But as the first 48 winds down,
35:08he's nowhere to be found.
35:21Two weeks after Greg was killed...
35:24What's the address?
35:26Fugitive warrants has a lead on Noah Chrisman.
35:30Okay, cool.
35:31I appreciate it.
35:32Yep.
35:34Noah Chrisman, aka Casper,
35:37left town and was in Perry, Oklahoma
35:38with his girlfriend.
35:40They got a tip
35:40that Noah is hiding out
35:42at his girlfriend's relative's house.
35:44The fugitive warrants unit
35:45contacted the Western District of Oklahoma
35:48U.S. Marshals Service
35:49and those deputies
35:51are going to go try to hit the house
35:52where they are now
35:53and try to get them in custody.
35:5880 miles west of Tulsa.
36:02Gentlemen,
36:03stop out now.
36:05Have you warned me of arrest?
36:07U.S. Marshals and officers
36:09from Perry, P.D.
36:10surround the house.
36:13Have the house surround it.
36:14You're not going anywhere.
36:17Barricaded in the back room
36:18with nine military.
36:20I have to get into the house.
36:22Come on down.
36:25Come out.
36:26Hold up.
36:27Let's go.
36:57Is there anybody else in the house?
36:59No, sir.
37:00My brother, young man, on the side.
37:04Come on.
37:05Come on.
37:06Right here.
37:08Have a seat.
37:09Why don't you head here, man?
37:12Thank you, sir.
37:19They said that the 9-millimeter semi-automatic gun
37:22was in the house.
37:24We don't know if it's the gun that was used in this shooting,
37:27so I'll have to wait on our ballistics to come back to
37:30and do a match on that,
37:31but they're going to be booking him into the Noble County Jail.
37:34Noah Chrisman will be extradited back to Tulsa.
37:38So today is a good day for this case.
37:50Three days later...
37:53Noah, I've introduced myself and my father.
37:57Warren and Ryden talk to Noah Chrisman at the Tulsa County Jail.
38:02Tell me what happened, man.
38:04All right.
38:06They pull up, and I go out there.
38:09I'm talking to James Leiter, and boom, he's chowing me all
38:12when I'm getting the stuff, and I hand him this red pouch.
38:17Noah says he gave James Leiter $4,000 in exchange for an envelope full of drugs.
38:24I'm not no cap.
38:25I did give James Leiter some counterfeit money.
38:29But admits that nearly half of the money he gave James was fake.
38:35And as soon as I get into the fence, James Leiter says,
38:38Hey, hold on.
38:41And then, get him, bro.
38:43Get him.
38:45And so I shot him.
38:48I wasn't even pointing really at him.
38:50I was pointing at the front of his car.
38:52I was just trying to get them to pull off.
38:57And I ran into the house.
38:58And I got my girl, and she five months pregnant.
39:02I told everybody, I said, get to the back now.
39:07Nobody wanted to listen.
39:08Everybody wanted to be like, hey, what the hell is going on?
39:10Why is someone shooting outside?
39:12And I see Gray trying to look out the door.
39:17And that first or second round, he hit him right in his face.
39:23And they killed him.
39:28And it probably took them about 30 seconds before they fired into the house.
39:34There was no reason they shouldn't have started firing into a dwelling of a residence.
39:39I was not a threat to them at all after that point.
39:43I agree with that.
39:44I agree with that.
39:47I still going to be charged with first degree murder in this?
39:50Yeah.
39:52You guys have done a felony murder.
39:54You did not kill anybody, but you were participating in a conditional felony.
39:58And somebody lost their life.
40:01Except for the DA to figure out what's the justice sentence.
40:04Yeah, and hey, I'm completely okay with it.
40:07I'm just like, I just want to be able to see my kids.
40:11You still got a chance with a life.
40:14All right.
40:16Okay.
40:16Thank you for being honest.
40:17Appreciate that one.
40:20All right.
40:27No one.
40:28Noah confirmed everything that the two brothers, Chris and James Liner, told me.
40:33What was important is that he confirm that that immediate threat was over with and they've
40:37recklessly found an occupied dwelling.
40:39and he was honest about what he'd done,
40:42and he was sorry about what he'd done,
40:43because his friend, Greg Dooms,
40:45lost his life in the process.
40:47But he's about to pay for it.
40:49It was a senseless death.
40:52Greg wasn't doing anything.
40:54He didn't deserve to go out like that.
41:30Five months after Greg was killed.
41:33We're here to celebrate his birthday.
41:36Happy birthday!
41:39Happy birthday!
41:41Even though he's not here with us today,
41:43we still want to keep his memory alive.
41:46He lived a very productive life.
41:49He did a lot of positive things,
41:51and to be honest with you, even right now,
41:54it still ain't quite settled in that the fact that he's gone.
41:59He's about one of the best oldest brothers I've ever had.
42:02I miss him, and I'm still going through it
42:05to try to figure out why this had to happen.
42:11He was a great brother,
42:13and I'm going to miss him so much.
42:15Let him go, y'all.
42:17Yes, we love you!
42:23I'm glad we threw something for him,
42:25but I'd just really rather have my little brother here with me today.
42:31He's in God's hands now.
42:33I love you, Greg.
42:36He ain't never going to be forgotten.
42:37You make my own friends.
42:41My family's stay alive.
42:41and remember to see me
42:41And with him,
42:41nice folks,
42:41You
