Part 1 - 10 years before Sony's Spider Man ('02) & 17 years before the first MCU installment (Iron Man ('08)) sections of Data East's 1991 arcade video game Captain America And The Avengers look like a blueprint for actor Tobey Maguire's future acting roles, and show a ton of clues to movie projects adapted from Marvel comic book material in the process. Maguire played web slinger Spider-Man in several movies, including the 3 Sam Raimi directed films (2002-2007).

In the game, Scene 3: Challenge From The Bottom Of The Sea starts out on the deck of a ravaged aircraft carrier. Fantastic Four villain The Wizard is the mini boss here. Interesting, when you consider Maguire had his movie debut in the 1989 roadtrip / video game adventure by the same name. Namor The Submariner cameos at the end of the segment, directing the heroes to dive in the ocean.

The above scene drew up thoughts of 1990 comedy Air America, which co-starred Mel Gibson and future Tony Stark / Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. as 2 misfit pilots flying missions for the government. Maguire & Downey also acted in a movie together, the 2000 comedy Wonder Boys.

The next part of the arcade game goes underwater. The wreckage of 2 large ships sit at the bottom of the sea. This clued me in to another related project: Director James Cameron's work in the 1990's on a Spider-Man film that was eventually abandoned. Cameron is known for his experience, film making in underwater environments. He envisioned The Abyss in 1989 & Titanic in 1997. Leonardo DiCaprio & Tobey Maguire would later appear together in Baz Luhrmann's 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

The mini boss of the underwater area is a giant Mechanical Octopus. I thought that a clue to Alfred Molina's role as Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus).
in Spider-Man 2 (2004).

00:00We're talking about knowledge of the future of movies, YouTube channel, Easter Egg Psychic.
00:05In this video, I'll share some future Easter eggs to movies involving actor Tobey Maguire.
00:13And you can see these in the 1991 Data East arcade game, Captain America and the Avengers.
00:21Based on the Marvel comic book, Maguire played web-slinger Spider-Man in three Sam Raimi-directed films released between
00:332002 and 2007.
00:35Casts in these included Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Alfred Molina, Thomas Hayden Church, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas Howard,
00:47James Cromwell, and J.K. Simmons.
00:49Maguire later had a cameo in the MCU film Spider-Man No Way Home in 2021.
00:59Others in this, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Andrew Garfield, and Marissa Tomei.
01:09Alright, so for this video, I'll cover scene three, Challenge from the Bottom of the Sea.
01:15So this level starts out on the deck of a damaged aircraft carrier.
01:21The enemy boss here is the villain, the Wizard.
01:25This character's name has a connection to the title of the 1989 film debut of Tobey Maguire.
01:33It's featured a cast with Fred Savage, Luke Edwards, and Jenny Lewis.
01:38Namor the Submariner cameos at the end of this segment and directs the heroes into the ocean.
01:46As it relates to the Avengers and the aircraft carrier, I thought of 1990 comedy Air America,
01:55which included Mel Gibson and Tony Stark, Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr.
02:01They played pilots doing secret work for the government.
02:06Maguire and Downey were in a movie together.
02:11The comedy Wonder Boys in 2000, which co-starred Michael Douglas, Katie Holmes, and Rip Torn.
02:19Back to Captain America and the Avengers Arcade.
02:23The next part of this level goes into the ocean.
02:26And there you'll pass by some sunken ships.
02:29This tipped me off to another Spider-Man link.
02:33This was the abandoned movie project that director James Cameron invested a substantial amount of time developing in the 1990s.
02:44Cameron, known for his extensive work Underwater,
02:48he of course directed The Abyss in 89 and Titanic in 1997.
02:54This was a romantic drama based on the real-life disaster, the sinking of the RMS Titanic ocean liner in
03:051912.
03:07Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane led this cast.
03:12The final boss of the underwater stage is a giant mechanical octopus.
03:19I thought that a possible clue to Alfred Molina's role as Doc Ock, Otto Octavius, in the second Spider-Man
03:30installment in 2004.
03:33My YouTube channel is Easter Egg Psychic.
03:35There I go back and look at movies and television from the past.
03:39I analyze these for possible references to future media.
03:42These may appear in the form of anecdotes, idioms, anagrams, hidden in the subtext of the work in question.
03:48I'll also use an unconventional method where I'll look at the likenesses of the actors.
03:55And what I've found is you can take the likenesses, match these up to some of the anecdotal items,
04:01and show past, present, and future information about actors and other personalities
04:07that may resemble the personalities in the movie or television episode that you're watching.
04:14My email contact is easteregguy, that's G-U-Y, at yahoo.com
04:21Thanks for watching.
