00:00I was just seeing that KD has been ruled out for game six of the Lakers series.
00:07That series has gone from maybe this will be one of LeBron's signature series wins
00:15to maybe this will be one of his all-time series collapses.
00:22I was certain that Kevin Durant, now that Houston's back in,
00:26I was certain Kevin Durant miraculously was going to start playing again,
00:30but obviously he's hurt, and that's a shame on me for even suggesting in my own head
00:37that in the postseason Kevin Durant would take a day off.
00:41I mean, we know the dude came back early and then ruptured his Achilles, right,
00:44when he came back early from the...
00:46He didn't, though. You had mentioned that yesterday.
00:48He was out the entire next season, so he took a much longer recovery.
00:55Oh, I thought he had hustled back real before it was time.
00:59No, so he ruptured his Achilles in the finals against Toronto.
01:02It was the game that they ended up losing. I think it was game six.
01:05And then that offseason, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
01:09He left Golden State.
01:10Oh, and then he took the following season off.
01:11He took the whole first season with Brooklyn off.
01:14Kyrie Irving played by himself without KDF.
01:16But I thought when he got injured in the finals, wasn't he coming off an injury?
01:19So it was the game before where it's very similar to what happened to Damian Lillard
01:24to what happened to Tyrese Halliburton where they pull their calf a little bit
01:30and then they try to come back from it quicker
01:34and then their Achilles snaps because of it.
01:36Yep.
01:37Because your Achilles is attached to your calf.
01:39Your calves attached to your heel.
01:41And you start to try to...
01:43Compensate.
01:44Yeah, compensate.
01:45Yeah, yeah.
01:46And LeBron...
01:49LeBron is old, man.
01:50He can't play all this basketball and be the guy anymore.
01:53That's why it would have been such an incredible series win, right?
01:58Where, hey, Luka's not there and Austin Reeves is there
02:01and LeBron at 41 puts everyone on his back
02:05and now all of a sudden it's like, ooh, my back hurts.
02:08It's final.
02:10Have you ever seen a 41-year-old put anything on their back?
02:13It doesn't work out well.
02:15Where are you?
02:16I see that normally your backdrop at home is just a mishmash of boxes
02:24and books and trophies and memorabilia.
02:29This looks like it's a very well thought out backdrop.
02:36IMG Legacy Hotel closed down the spa office
02:41to give it to me to do the show because we had to come up here.
02:44I told y'all yesterday we're doing the Randy Memorial,
02:46the Ocean Memorial this weekend.
02:48So we had to drive up to get the kids this morning
02:50and they gave me the spa office.
02:53I'm very nice of them.
02:54Wow.
02:55Yeah.
02:56They're great people up here.
02:57Well, I pay for it, but they're nice.
02:59I was going to say, yeah, I always am amazed,
03:01but like when DJ at University of Tampa, he's like, oh, they did this.
03:06Or, you know, if I call or email something at the bursar's office
03:09and they respond in two minutes, I'm always like, wow,
03:12they really are interested.
03:14And then I'm like, oh, wait a second.
03:16I am paying a ridiculous amount of money for this service.
03:21Hello, Mr. Crowder.
03:22How have you been?
03:22Good to see you.
03:23Man, did you lose weight?
03:24You know I didn't lose weight.
03:25You're just, yeah, the tuition is making all this nice.
03:28It's like, because I would always compare it to like, you know,
03:32DJ went to public high school, public middle school,
03:34but now he's at private college.
03:35And I'm like, man, they're just,
03:37they just seem at college to be more in tune with the students' parents' needs.
03:44Then I'm like, oh, wait a second.
03:46I'm cutting a massive check twice a year.
03:48They should be.
03:49They actually know.
03:51They have Funky Buddha here at the hotel.
03:54Look at you.
03:55They have Funky Buddha.
03:56And I walk in and, you know, it's 1240.
03:59And they're like, hey, would you like a hazy IPA Funky Buddha guy, right?
04:03And I'm like, we're not at 1240.
04:05Talk to me around 530 and I'll have a couple of them with you.
04:08Wait until about one.
04:10Talk to me a little later and I will.
04:12But, yeah.
04:13What do you pay for it, Hawk?
04:14We're both in the same situation.
04:17Anyway, what do you think is going to happen in that Houston Lakers series?
04:22Because now I've got my doubts that the Lakers can pull this out.
04:25I think the puppies are going to get it.
04:28I think this is a young playoffs.
04:30It's Alana.
04:31It's never happened before.
04:32It's not happening to LeBron James.
04:34He will.
04:35LeBron James will play.
04:37I'm not kidding.
04:37Like, if it went to game seven, I think LeBron James would play 48 minutes in that game.
04:42And I think he would do everything he can.
04:44Like, his last hurrah.
04:46Maybe he retires after that game.
04:48But just wills his team to victory.
04:52You want to talk about the Jordan-LeBron legacy stuff.
04:56And you want to talk about how Jordan never played in a game seven.
04:59For LeBron James to become the first player on the first team in the history of the league
05:06to blow a 3-0 series lead would legitimately – I'm not kidding – would legitimately do harm to his
05:15legacy.
05:15But, Solana, he's 41.
05:18It's not – this isn't him in Cleveland.
05:20He came back – what was the – when he came back and won it in Cleveland?
05:263-1 against the Golden State Warriors.
05:27That's crazy.
05:28That's crazy.
05:29It's crazy.
05:30Considering how good that Warriors team was, which broke Jordan's all-time wins record in the NBA that season.
05:38And LeBron led that comeback alongside Kyrie Irving.
05:41That's crazy.
05:42That's why that championship is considered one of the greatest titles ever by any athlete.
05:48LeBron James losing a series, no matter without Luka, no matter Austin Reeves.
05:53The context doesn't matter because guess what?
05:55But for the rest of time, only one team will have done it until it's finally accomplished,
06:00and it was a LeBron James team.
06:03I'm telling you, as somebody who believes LeBron James is the greatest player of all time,
06:08more so than Michael Jordan, this will do harm to his legacy.
06:12I'm telling you, right now.
06:14He's not totally incorrect.
06:16And I do think, you know, he said LeBron will play 48 minutes.
06:20LeBron will play 60 minutes if that's what's required.
06:23He will single-handedly extend the game if that's what it takes.
06:29He ain't losing this series.
06:30Now I'm with Solano.
06:32What is it?
06:32I'm going to look on the hard rock app.
06:34Did you watch the game last night?
06:35Did he not look 41?
06:36He's tired.
06:37He's tired.
06:38And he should be, by the way.
06:39He should be.
06:40He's 41.
06:42But he's superhuman when you're superhuman.
06:45I mean, you ever see those, you see in Age of Ultron, the fight between Superman and Batman?
06:52I like you bring that up.
06:54Remember when Wolverine got old and his little knives wouldn't come out his hand all the way anymore?
07:00That was Age of Ultron as well.
07:01I remember that.
07:02He doesn't have, when he clenches his fist, his little knives don't come out like they used to.
07:08I don't even know what Age of Ultron is.
07:11I know there are people listening who are so mad at what I said.
07:15I'm enraged.
07:17Age of Ultron, Superman versus Batman.
07:20I can't imagine that that happened.
07:22What show was that when Thanos was not a Thanos anymore?
07:26One of those movies.
07:28When Thanos wasn't Thanos?
07:30Yeah, he got balled up.
07:31He's crying.
07:32Thanos was crying in a corner somewhere.
07:35His little rocks were gone out of his fist.
07:38Age of Ultron?
07:41When did Thanos cry?
07:44I don't recall.
07:45I thought Thanos was only in two movies.
07:50Endgame and prior Endgame.
07:54Penultimate game.
07:55Infinity Wars.
07:58When did Thanos cry, Jimmy?
08:00Infinity Wars?
08:01But did he cry because he lost his rocks or did he cry because he was sad about humanity?
08:07He was crying and I knew something was wrong and then he got whooped.
08:12By everybody.
08:14We have as much business talking about this as we do sports.
08:18Yeah.
08:19I mean, really?
08:20When we start...
08:21Because Hawk's doing a bit.
08:23When you start your bits on like action movies or what are they called?
08:29Superhero movies.
08:30Yeah.
08:31I don't know if you're doing bits or not because that is not my wheelhouse at all.
08:35Like at all.
08:38Always default to it's a bit until you hear otherwise.
08:41Because you said something about Age of Ultron and I'm shaking my head like, oh yeah, good point.
08:46I have no idea, man.
08:49So Lakers are minus 300 to win the series.
08:53Houston's plus 240.
08:54Yeah.
08:54It's never happened before, man.
08:56Ever.
08:57Think about that.
08:58It is never...
08:59Remember when the Heat, they went up 3-0 in the Celtics and then Derek White with like
09:04two-tenths of a second left.
09:05The Heat had won the series.
09:07I'm already writing my recap for the post-game show about how they're going back to the NBA
09:10finals and Derek White had that unbelievable tip in and is going back to Boston for Game
09:157.
09:16As a sports fan, over 30 years, I have never been more afraid.
09:21I have never leaked more than going back up to Boston.
09:26It wasn't just about losing to Boston.
09:28It wasn't just about the fact that clearly momentum was with the home team and they were
09:33probably the better team.
09:35It's the fact that the Miami Heat were going to go down as the first team in the history
09:41of the NBA to blow a 3-0 lead.
09:45Nobody wants that mark.
09:46And LeBron James, that happening to him, Crowder, would be catastrophic.
09:51Catastrophic.
09:52I know I'm with you, but it's 41.
09:55It's not 25-year-old LeBron.
09:57It's 41-year-old LeBron and Rui Hachimera.
10:00Who else is going to score 30 points?
10:03Rui Hachimera?
10:04Is there any chance Luka or Austin Reeves is coming back?
10:07No, Austin Reeves, for sure.
10:10Yeah.
10:10But I just don't think...
10:11Was he back last night?
10:13Yeah.
10:13He played yesterday 32 minutes, 32, 33 minutes, something like that.
10:18And he scored a bunch of points.
10:21But he's not going to take a game over.
10:24And 41-year-old LeBron can't take games over anymore like that.
10:27He's going to get more tired and more tired and more tired.
10:30Solana, we're old.
10:31You're a puppy.
10:32Hawk and myself are old.
10:33We know how it feels to be old.
10:35The first day at Disney, I can walk around two parts.
10:39Sunday, you got six rides out of me, and I need to go take a nap.
10:44Oh, you got to get on that testosterone, man.
10:46I got a hookup.
10:48You want the testosterone plug?
10:50Yeah, you want that worm to wiggle.
10:52Got a text from the Ticket Wizard.
10:54I was literally thinking to myself, I don't think that's Age of Ultron.
10:59I'm like, you know me better than that, Barry.
