A Merseyside mother is campaigning for a new criminal offence after her daughter’s murder and the concealment of her body. Ministers say the issue is under review.

00:01A justice minister has agreed to meet a bereaved mother campaigning for a change in the law after
00:06her daughter's murder in Merseyside. Jean Taylor's daughter Chantelle was killed in Birkenhead in
00:122004. Stephen Wynne admitted to murdering the 27-year-old and was jailed for life at
00:17Liverpool Crown Court in 2006. His sentence was later reduced on appeal to 18 years and he was
00:25granted parole earlier this year. Ms Taylor is calling for a new offence covering concealment
00:31or desecration of a body. Minister Alex Davies-Jones told MPs she will meet the family as the Law
00:38Commission reviews whether further legislation is needed in England and Wales.
