00:04Exit polls released on Wednesday for the five state assembly elections paint a mixed but
00:10dramatic picture from a likely BJP sweep in Assam to a nail a bitter in West Bengal.
00:18Here's what pollsters are predicting ahead of counting on May 4th.
00:26In Assam, almost all exit polls predict a thumping victory for the BJP led NDA.
00:34Projections range from 68 to 101 seats for the NDA government, 15 to 39 for the Congress
00:42Alliance in the 126 seat assembly, where 64 is the majority mark.
00:49The BJP looks set for a strong return.
00:57Now, moving on to West Bengal.
00:59West Bengal remains the biggest battle.
01:02Most pollsters give the BJP an edge or outright win over the ruling, DMC.
01:08Projections vary widely.
01:11Matriz says BJP is likely to score between 146 to 161.
01:19TMC 125 to 140.
01:23PMARC says BJP is likely to score somewhere between 150 to 175.
01:29Praja Poll says BJP is likely to score something between 178 to 208.
01:38However, two pollsters, People's Pulse and Janmat, forecast a comfortable TMC victory with 177 to 205 seats.
01:51Majority mark is 148 in the 294 seat house.
02:01Now, in Tamil Nadu, most exit polls favour the ruling DMC led Alliance retaining power with 120 to 168 seats.
02:12But, two pollsters predict a hung assembly with actor Vijay's debutant TVK emerging as a strong spoiler up to 98
02:23to 120 seats in one projection.
02:27AIADMK Plus is seen between 22 to 100.
02:31Majority is 118 in the 234 seat house.
02:37JVC is the outliner, predicting an AIADMK win as well.
02:46Now, in Kerala, exit polls point to a UDF comeback after 10 years.
02:52Projections give the Congress led UDF 60 to 90 seats against the 49 to 68 for the ruling LTF in
03:01the 140 seat assembly.
03:03Majority is 71.
03:05NDA is expected to get very few seats.
03:12Now, we talk about Puducherry.
03:14In Puducherry, nearly all polls forecast a return for the AINRC-led NDA government with 16 to 25 seats out
03:24of 30 against 4 to 12 for Congress+.
03:27Remember, exit polls have often been wrong in the past.
03:31Actual results will be out on May 4th.
