28:15I feel like I've been able to find so many friends in all of you.

33:58In the 1800s, Swann threw secret balls in Washington, D.C.

34:05She resisted and became the first American to take legal action in defense of LGBTQ rights.
34:11A World War II veteran, Jose Saria, also known as Mama Jose, and the Nightingale of Montgomery Street, performed at
34:18the legendary Black Cat Bar.
34:20During police raids, she led the patrons in a rousing rendition of God Save Us Nelly Queens.
34:26In 1961, in full drag, Jose ran for San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the first openly gay person to
34:34run for public office in the United States of America.
34:38In the 1960s, Mother Flawless Sabrina organized hundreds of drag pageants across the country, in cities where it was illegal
34:46for men to wear women's clothing.
34:48And when the police showed up, Flawless faced arrest so her queens wouldn't have to.
34:54Jailed over 100 times, she continued to be a fearless and outspoken advocate into her late 70s.
35:00And her work is immortalized in the iconic documentary, The Queen.
