Delving into the group HAYI, which has taken credit for recent attacks. Analysts point to linguistic errors, branding inconsistencies, and links to a pro-Iranian online ecosystem as signs of a possible facade.
Transcript
00:00So they seem to be part of a pro-Iranian ecosystem online,
00:04but the group could be like a facade,
00:07so not a real terrorist organisation,
00:09but actually a front for an operation by Iran.
00:13Obviously, there would be speculation to that effect.
00:16What evidence is there that they're being orchestrated from Iran?
00:19It's really, really, really tricky.
00:22So firstly, there's kind of all these errors in the Arabic spellings,
00:26in the logo and videos, some linguistic stuff.
00:29There's inconsistencies in the logos and brandings.
00:33And the videos were initially shared through channels linked to pro-Iranian Shia militias.
00:40And there's no digital footprint at all before the 9th of March.
00:44So it kind of suggests like a bit of an ad hoc structure or possibly kind of a cover name
00:51because it just sort of, the label kind of appeared abruptly alongside the first claims.
