Día del Migrante: El Libro Viajero, relatos para luchar contra la xenofobia

A partir de dibujos y cartas, cientos de migrantes cuentan cómo viven el duelo migratorio, qué significa dejar su país y buscar un futuro en otro, que generalmente les da la bienvenida, pero que,  en ocasiones, levanta un muro de rechazo y xenofobia. Historias conmovedoras en el Libro Viajero, una iniciativa de la periodista venezolana y activista de Derechos Humanos, Adriana Abramovits y la ONG, que El Derecho a No Obedecer.

00:06The Book of Viajero is a powerful initiative against xenophobia,

00:11where from the drawing, the words written, the literature,

00:14the migrants can express and make a catarsis,

00:17especially what has meant to migrate and leave Venezuela,

00:19and reach a new destination.

00:21Sometimes we think that the migrant population

00:24is the one who has to adapt to that new context,

00:27but also the one who receives the migrant population

00:30has to seek adaptation to these new cultures

00:34and new ways of being and being.

00:36I'm drawing my house.

00:38As I lived in a farm, we had horses, mules,

00:42and we were when I was a baby.

00:45And now I've met another friend who is painting on my side.

00:50Hello.

00:53And as I draw here, we all are brothers.

00:56Colombia and Venezuela, for me, is a single feeling, a single pride.

01:01I take both countries in my heart.

01:04I love both countries.

01:06The process of adaptability has been a lot of lasting,

01:09because the Colombian people have always been, in general,

01:12very united with the Venezuelan people,

01:14for historical and cultural reasons,

01:17and for those roots of friendship

01:18that has always joined us as Latin American people.

01:23We believe that with this, we can at least give them a hand,

01:27say that we give them a welcome,

01:29and wait to make a little easier

01:31all their integration process in our country.

01:34We all have something that we have left,

01:36something that we are receiving.

01:37We don't have anything better than to give them a welcome,

01:41or to give them a message.

01:42So the invitation is that all migrants

01:45who feel the need to tell their story

01:48can do it free,

01:49can do it free,

01:50can do it free,

01:50and do the exercise of telling their story.

01:53And all the Colombian people who want to give them a welcome,

01:55it is also an invitation to retroalimentation,

01:58to go and go,
