00:00We are with Neil Perea, VP of Asuntos Corporativos of Terpel.
00:02Daniel, this 2024 begins for you, for Terpel,
00:06with the great news of being the only Colombian distribuidary
00:08in one of the most sustainable in the world.
00:12According to Sustainability, the GRB of Standard & Poor's,
00:16he evaluates the environmental practices of companies,
00:20social practices, governance,
00:24of more than 10,000 companies from 61 different industries.
00:28What impact has for you all this?
00:29It is a significant hit.
00:31We are only 19 companies in Colombia
00:33that are part of the Anuaries of Sustainability
00:35and we are the only one in the sector of distribution of combustibles in our country.
00:39So, let's say, this has been a lot of pride,
00:41but also of commitment and responsibility.
00:44This implies, of course,
00:47additional charges from the point of view of how we do the business,
00:51and, in quotes, that we fill out of satisfaction.
00:54One, to keep doing a business that is concerned about their environment
00:57and that makes face to the challenges that the planet faces.
01:00Two, responsibility for following our private role,
01:05looking for the way to impact the country
01:07and looking for the way to impact the society,
01:09that is,
01:10that is,
01:11that is,
01:11to be much more equitable,
01:13more inclusive and less equal.
01:16And, thirdly,
01:17to keep doing a business that is safe
01:20from the point of view of our investors and investors
01:23and of course,
01:24and we also fill out of thanks,
01:26because at the end of the day,
01:27this is a product of what has been achieved
01:30thanks to the commitment of employees,
01:32employees, all employees are connected to this type of purpose of being a sustainable company.
01:38Also, thank you for our interest groups, our consumers that we prefer,
01:43our investors, investors, the directives,
01:45that is where the conviction of wanting to transform the social reality
01:50and to be a sustainable company.
01:52And of course, our allies,
01:54who, with hard work,
01:56carry on the purpose of our business.
01:59So, it is a recognition that fills us many sensations, many sentiments,
02:05as I mentioned, pride, commitment, responsibility and gratitude.
02:09And of course, it is a recognition that invites us to continue working,
02:13not to be recognized, because at the end of the day, this is a consequence,
02:17this is not the cause for which we do things,
02:19but to continue working on being a company that incorporate ASG in its management,
02:24in all the company, in an integral way.
02:28I think it is important to talk a little bit about the context of this news.
02:32Terpel ingreses for the seventh year,
02:34consecutive to this Anniversary of Sustainability.
02:38It is the most important publication to the global level that highlights these good practices.
02:43How can the company reach this point,
02:46to be again in this Anniversary?
02:47I understand that it is something that comes from several years ago.
02:50Let's talk a little bit about how has been that context to reach this news.
02:53We have managed to identify barriers to face to the objectives that we draw on
02:57in each environmental, social and government,
03:00and that allows us to organize ourselves,
03:02to have objectives, to measure ourselves, to manage ourselves.
03:05And finally, I think that our corporate government system,
03:10that is basically based on integrity,
03:12in ethics and transparency,
03:15makes us confident.
03:16I think that our great intention is to be a sustainable company,
03:21that can dream about a future
03:22from the permanence that we have in the time,
03:26to continue to impact socially as we do.
03:29We believe that from our private role,
03:31we have the obligation and conviction
03:34to generate positive impacts in society,
03:38to close barriers to inequality,
03:40to inequity,
03:42and I think that that is what we move on to us.
03:44We have the recognition,
03:45to carry out our business with conviction
03:48of the role that we have in society and in the country.
03:52Let's talk a little bit about those positive impacts.
03:55What actions are you going forward to,
03:57especially in this environmental environment,
03:59as a company?
04:00There are several impacts that are associated
04:02with the environmental initiatives.
04:05We have a posture that we have in a couple of years,
04:08that basically seeks that for 2030
04:10we neutralize the 50% of our emissions
04:14and for 2050 we have carbon neutral.
04:16And this ambition we will achieve through three initiatives,
04:21or initiatives in three different fronts.
04:24First, energy efficiency and climate change.
04:27Second, safe operation.
04:29And third, initiatives asociadas
04:31to circular economy and sustainable management
04:34of resources.
04:36For that purpose,
04:38every vicepresident,
04:39every year, define some ambitious goals.
04:41And here I go back to the issue of
04:42that this is a work of all and not only
04:44of a vicepresident.
04:45And every vicepresident
04:46points to these great objectives
04:48and every year,
04:49we are going to achieve goals
04:51to achieve that big goal
04:53that we have in 2030 and 2050.
04:55That is environmental.
04:57In the social, we have various initiatives.
04:59First, in terms of education.
05:02Second, in terms of reconciliation.
05:04Third, in terms of health.
05:05And finally, in terms of equity,
05:07diversity and inclusion.
05:09I will quickly talk about the first two.
05:12In terms of education,
05:13our great social goal is that.
05:15We believe that from the education
05:17we can achieve a more equitable country,
05:22a more equal country,
05:25a less equal country,
05:25and a country,
05:27that we build on different bases
05:29as we have today.
05:30We have 20 years,
05:32through the Fundation Terpel,
05:33aposting to this.
05:34The Fundation Terpel
05:34this year,
05:35we have just 20 years of existence.
05:37And we have basically
05:38five programs
05:39that look for
05:40to improve
05:42basic competencies
05:43in mathematics,
05:44language,
05:45and leadership.
05:46Mathematics and language
05:47because we want to have
05:48good students,
05:49good students,
05:50but also in leadership
05:51because we want to have
05:52people that develop
05:53functional competencies
05:54and socio-emotional skills
05:57that can transform
05:57their environment
05:58from their own reality.
05:59So,
06:00with these five programs
06:01we have impacted
06:02around 3,000 institutions
06:06in 20 years.
06:07These are almost
06:102,000,000 people.
06:12This is what shows
06:13the commitment
06:14for that front
06:15in which we are.
06:17That is in terms of education.
06:18In terms of reconciliation,
06:20we do an appeal
06:21to the peace of this country
06:22through programs
06:24that I personally love
06:25that is called
06:26Restaurando Sueños.
06:27That basically
06:28that is,
06:29restaurar sueños
06:30of those who were
06:31victims of conflict
06:33or who,
06:34who,
06:34for another reason,
06:35committed a error
06:35in their life
06:36and are post-penated.
06:37Those people,
06:38when they go to the freedom
06:39or seek to reincorporate
06:41with the civil society
06:42they find 1,000 flaws.
06:43So,
06:43we welcome them
06:45and we support them
06:47through two initiatives.
06:48One is,
06:49one is,
06:49one is,
06:50one is,
06:50one is,
06:50one is,
06:51one is,
06:52one is,
06:52one is,
06:58one,
07:00one is,
07:00one is,
07:01three,
07:02two is,
07:03four,
07:08one is,
07:27one is
07:28health can have them. But let's say, if you want to resumir in two great words, the
07:33social apuesta is our education and reconciliation. And we also have a thank you, because at
07:38the end of the day, this is a product of what we have achieved thanks to the commitment
07:43of the employees. All employees are connected with this type of purpose of being a sustainable
07:49company. We also have a thank you for our interests, our consumers, our investors, our
07:56directives, which is where the conviction of wanting to transform the social realities
08:02and to be a sustainable company. And of course, our allies who, with hard work, carry on
08:08the goal of our business. So, it is a recognition that fills us with many sensations, many sentiments,
08:17as I mentioned, pride, commitment, responsibility.
08:20Precisely, Daniel, in this Annuario of Sustainability, that is a point that you evaluate, what would
08:25you would like to resaltar, what does Terpeli in Colombia? And I understand that also in
08:29other parts.
08:30I think that the issue that we do through the Foundation, with these 20 years of existence,
08:35is the impact on education. The education has an enormous potential from the point of
08:39social point of view. I think that if we want to dream of a better society, we have to
08:44invest in all of the education. And that's why I want to resaltate it, because the
08:49investment in terms of education that we do is enormous. We do an important investment and we have
08:53managed to benefit many people. Almost 2 million people have benefited. So, I would say that if I had to
09:01choose between all of our bets, in terms of pertinence and relevance, I would say that the
09:06education, and not in vain, is the biggest in our social issues. I think that the education
Primero.
10:23Segundo, definir objetivos. ¿Yo qué quiero? ¿A dónde quiero llegar?
10:51primero, no claudicar.
Mil gracias.
