00:02My name is Nelson Quintero Estevez and I am a firmant in the process of peace.
00:06From the Dejación de las Armas, we have a new community of firmantes of the process,
00:12here in this Philippines district, Municipio de Araujita, Departamento Araujo.
00:16We are recognizing, in front of the society, that we are wrong.
00:20The murder was a barbarian, a very complex situation.
00:24That's why, in 2012, we took the clamour of the Colombian people and said,
00:30no more, let's do this.
00:32And we are the first autocríticos to say that we are wrong in many complex policies.
00:43I went to the FARC at the age of 19, very young, in search of opportunities.
00:53I am a victim of the state regime, because there were no opportunities for the young people.
01:01And looking for those opportunities, I went to the war.
01:06We, at least at the age of children, don't play in the war.
01:11Because it's not that, it's the feeling like firmantes of peace, like children of peace.
01:17We say to the friends in the store, if you monta a store, please,
01:20no bring toys that are weapons, because that's not a toy for a child.
01:24The children changed their thoughts.
01:27Three years ago, there were many colleagues who said,
01:30well, if the agreement is not fulfilled, what do we do?
01:33They said, we go back to the war.
01:35And they have a child.
01:36And I said, this is not fulfilled, what do we do?
01:39They said, I have my son, I have my wife, I have my wife, I have my grandfather,
01:45I have my grandfather, I have my mother.
01:46So, I see that there is a family nucleus.
01:48And that strengthens us.
01:56The peace is what you can see here, the children who look at it.
01:59That has been the hope that it has brought back.
02:02The renaissance, well, of many things.
02:05From the communities, the happiness.
02:08Although it's cruel to say that there is still war in Colombia,
02:12the firm brought a little bit of relief to all the farmers,
02:17and those who live in the village, too.
02:19Because not only in the field they suffered the war,
02:22the population in general, in Colombia,
02:24suffered the consequences of the struggle,
02:26without being connected.
02:34We started working since 2019,
02:37that we started that program with Confuncari.
02:43First we started with Caritas,
02:46Carivitas,
02:47which is also a foundation of TAME.
02:50And now we have Confuncari,
02:53which is the own kind of program of ICBF.
02:58So, we started working for several years.
03:02The first program started with a association
03:06that is called Socata,
03:07of indigenous peoples.
03:08And they were like the providers
03:12of the project,
03:13of the program.
03:15And there were four partners
03:19that were like dynamizers
03:22in the program,
03:24of the UCA,
03:25Semillitas de Paz.
03:27And from that to that,
03:28we came to work all these years
03:30with the ICBF,
03:32which we found very important.
03:33And the idea is to continue
03:36with the ICBF programs.
03:45I think the people here
03:47do not want more war,
03:48do not want more violence,
03:49do not want more peace,
03:50do not want peace.
03:51And that they do not comply with the rights
03:52and not be discriminated.
03:54These children of Villapaz,
03:56children of the peace,
03:58children of the peace,
03:58they have to go ahead
04:00and not show them
04:01the dark path
04:02that they showed us
04:03in a moment the state
04:04for us to take a war
04:06that was not the best.
04:08They left us many victims,
04:10we have many complex situations,
04:12we have consequences
04:13of our lives
04:14of us.
04:15So, I think that
04:16between all
04:17and more with the ICBF,
04:19we help us
04:20to educate these people,
04:21but also to educate us
04:23as a family member.
04:24we have been doing
04:24a great job
04:24for people.
04:34There's nothing
04:34to do yet.
