00:06This week, our designers are battling it out.
00:09Doing up hotel rooms in Cheshire's Peck Fort and Castle.
00:12There'll be high ceilings, high expectations and high blood pressure.
00:17Speaking of high, why am I always the lookout?
00:22Wait a minute, what's that?
00:24Is that the enemy coming?
00:25Oh, it might be me sushi.
00:29I guess it wasn't lunch.
00:31Welcome to Interior Design Masters.
00:35Has anyone got a paracetamol?
00:36Got a split in their day.
00:38Nine designers remain as they compete for a life-changing prize
00:43to partner with Next to design and launch their very own homeware collection.
00:49Last time...
00:50Come and get me juicy cockles.
00:52Our budding designers splashed their signature style onto beach huts.
00:57It looks so cute.
01:00Ben's Victorian-inspired creation bags stand out space.
01:04You really know how to layer space with just the right bits and bobs.
01:08It is best to be the best paper mache things I've ever made.
01:11Emily drifted off course with her artistic vision.
01:14The paper mache thing goes on and on.
01:16It's everywhere.
01:18Mind your head.
01:19And Kate poured all of her time into cladding.
01:22One of the niftiest things about beach huts is their rustic architecture, but she's covered it up.
01:27But it was Tao who ran aground on sustainability and waved goodbye to the competition.
01:32Got it to be going home, but I don't go out with my Tao Teich.
01:44Oh my god, new week!
01:46Are you excited?
01:48Week two!
01:49I've got so many ideas.
01:51I'm ready.
01:52Let's go.
01:53I actually dressed up for the occasion today.
01:55Coming off the back of the wind, we've got hotel rooms.
01:58It's a gothic-style castle, so it's fitting right up my street.
02:04You feel good to be back?
02:07Last week I was on Michelle's sofa, so I have got loads to prove this week.
02:12Hello!
02:14Welcome back, you week one survivors.
02:17So how does it feel to get that first challenge under your tool belt?
02:21It was good.
02:22Yeah, really good.
02:23Having proven yourself with a little beach hut, for the second challenge, you're going grander.
02:30Peckford and Castle in Cheshire is a spectacular setting for a romantic getaway or fairytale wedding.
02:40With nine hotel bedrooms ripe for a refresh, each designer has one double bedroom to transform.
02:50This hotel is a place to celebrate special occasions, so I'd love to see your version of a romantic retreat.
02:58Now, the rooms come fully kitted out with furniture, but it's up to you whether you use it or lose
03:03it.
03:03But it would be nice to see some repurposing if you can.
03:06Above all, the rooms need to feel like they've been updated and a real treat to stay in.
03:12Guest judging this week is the queen of sophisticated luxury, so you might want to work on your curtsies.
03:20It's Linda Baranque.
03:21Ooh!
03:25So, Pop, you do not disturb signs on your hotel doorknobs.
03:29You've got just two days and a budget of 拢2,500.
03:33See you at the castle!
03:35Have fun!
03:36Good luck!
03:37Let's go!
03:38I'd love to go on a romantic getaway, but my husband never takes me.
03:41If he's watching now, pencil that in.
03:46In Cheshire...
03:47Oh, my gosh!
03:49Look at the size of it!
03:50It's massive.
03:51I can't believe it.
03:53The designers are ready to storm the castle walls.
03:56Is that a moat?
03:58Before climbing up to the top of the turrets.
04:01Wow!
04:02It's so magical.
04:06This is a big room, isn't it?
04:08It's very, very oddly shaped, which is what I imagined, but it's even more odd in real life.
04:15Each room boasts four-meter high ceilings, gothic windows.
04:19Oh, my...
04:20That view!
04:21A collection of dark reproduction furniture.
04:25This is going to get a wee glow up.
04:27It's just so perfect, it's so intricate, that I'm actually just going to leave it as is.
04:31I've got some sexy plant stands going in there instead.
04:35And thick jacquard curtains.
04:38The first thing that's got to go are these things.
04:41Oh, my God, they're so heavy.
04:43Keeping the curtains actually look nicer than I thought they were going to look, so that's good.
04:47So the TV's going, which is great, because it's a bit of a vibe killer.
04:52We're doing hunting, medieval kind of vibe, so we're going to have leopard skin on the wall.
04:57Obviously not real.
04:58It's going to make it feel a bit more oldie-worldie but modern at the same time.
05:03Animal print maximalist Sophie.
05:05Hey!
05:06Oh, hello.
05:07And botanical maximalist Leah.
05:10Oh, my God, is that Zip?
05:11Someone's been inspired.
05:13Want to take a look at what Ben, last week's standout space winner, is planning?
05:18Yeah, so it's going to be a medieval hunting kind of vibe, so, like, animal skins everywhere.
05:23Sorry, what?
05:24And what was your inspiration behind the design, Sophie?
05:27We've got a darker green to do all the woodworking as well.
05:29I think we might be a little similar.
05:31Are you green?
05:32Uh, very green.
05:34Very green.
05:34I'm green.
05:35Are we all going green?
05:36Oh, God.
05:38The green wing.
05:38Oh, yeah.
05:40My own personal style is rock and roll maximalism.
05:44I clash print, colour and eras.
05:48I don't think leopard print would be right for my scheme this week, so I've definitely
05:53come away from what I would do, and I've thought about the user.
05:57Right, paint, paint, paint, paint.
06:04Should have enough paint, hopefully.
06:08To help them get that paint on those castle walls, each designer gets a decorator and a
06:14carpenter.
06:16Hey!
06:18Come on in.
06:19It's like going to the top of the world, isn't it?
06:22Nice to meet you, Mark.
06:23Mark.
06:23Mark.
06:24Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark.
06:25I love that.
06:26Very easy.
06:26I'm not a castle kind of gal, and I've been trying to kind of reason with myself with
06:32this.
06:33So I'm going with the romance of travel, and so I've imagined myself in a past life a
06:38hundred years ago.
06:39So Lady Francesca Ratcliffe is a successful spinster that travels the world.
06:45Once I created the character, it was very easy to try and find objects that a travelling
06:52spinster would collect.
06:54And so the final visual outcome is all determined by what I managed to source.
07:01Frankie's second-hand booty will populate her imaginary character's bedroom.
07:06She's picked up an old privacy screen, which she'll be turning into a golden bedhead.
07:13Old plaster plant stands will serve as bedside tables, and a chaise-long will be elevated and
07:20placed in the window.
07:22The walls will be painted in shades of yellow, pink and plum.
07:29Poor Mark, look at his arms.
07:33So I've brought in all the luxurious textures and colours from travelling.
07:38So the pinks of Jaipur, the golds of Marrakesh, and the rich burgundies of Rome.
07:45While Frankie's going multi-coloured...
07:48Oh my gosh, I love it!
07:51...Doran is using one colour to completely drench her room.
07:55It's like mango sorbet.
07:57So, Stephen, that's making me hungry.
08:00The feeling I want when you walk in the room is as if you've walked into a flower.
08:04I just want it to feel like it's glowing in there.
08:06And it all stems from the main piece of the room, which is a chandelier.
08:10And it looks as if a flower is growing out from the ceiling.
08:14So that's the starting point.
08:16It's a very surrealist interpretation of romance.
08:19I wanted to do something that felt a little different.
08:22And I think a castle was the place to really play.
08:25So I've done that, and hopefully it pays off.
08:28What do you think, Stephen?
08:29It's so interesting. I like it.
08:33Doran might be going punchy.
08:35That makes me very happy.
08:37But Kate's going cool and calm.
08:39After being on the sofa last week, my main focus is just picking one thing and let it run through
08:45the whole of my design.
08:47So my inspiration for the room is bringing that nature from outside, inside, but adding a bit more of a
08:53modern twist to it.
08:55Do you remember the last time you went on a date?
08:56Because I don't remember the last time I did.
08:58Does a takeaway count?
08:59That's like me.
09:00My first date, you basically bought me a burger and 20 chicken nuggets, and there you go.
09:05That's the way to my heart.
09:06We've been together 20 years.
09:09One of the best things that me and my husband get to do is go in with the kids away.
09:13And we love camping.
09:15It just has very special memories.
09:16It just all feels like it's very calming.
09:19So you'll come to somewhere like this to reconnect, and they'll have to come in the room and just go,
09:24Ah, maybe I can get a decent night of sleep and not be woken up by the kids tonight.
09:31Kate's relaxing retreat will be drenched in a subtle clay colour inspired by a framed forest mural.
09:37She's creating an arched-shaped headboard from scratch and customising a chandelier for some extra bling.
09:44She'll get rid of the wardrobe and replace it with a brass hanging rail.
09:48To make the most of the height of the room, she's crafting some plaster reliefs.
09:54I want to add some firds onto the ceiling by using some filler, so it makes them look a bit
10:013D.
10:02And then I'm going to do some leaves coming down from the ceiling just to add a bit of romance.
10:10Oh, I can't wait to see what our designers have done with their romantic castle bedrooms.
10:15And with love in the air, who knows?
10:17I might find my own night in shining armour.
10:21Oh, hello.
10:23What are you doing here all on your lonesome?
10:26Well, if you ever need anyone to oil your joints, I'm your man.
10:30Well, listen, I've got to go and look at some bedrooms, so you stay right there, OK?
10:40Love is in the air, everywhere I look around.
10:48Love is in the air, every sight and every sight.
10:55Love is in the air.
10:56Hi.
10:57Hello.
10:58You OK?
10:59Yeah, good.
10:59How are you?
11:00I'm just currently trying to put some swallows on the wall.
11:03So why have you gone for swallows, then?
11:05I wanted to bring as much of that nature outside inside of here, so...
11:09Do you want to have a go?
11:10Yeah, I'd love to have a go.
11:11You've got it.
11:12That's it.
11:13So, listen, can we talk about you being on the sofa last week?
11:17Yes, of course.
11:18I love some of the hacks you had in your beach hut,
11:21but do you think maybe it was too many hacks and not enough you?
11:25I love a hack, but I need to bring it in with the design
11:29and make it all fit together.
11:31Yeah.
11:31So, do you want to pull this off and see what you've done?
11:35There you go.
11:36That one's lost its beak.
11:38Do not touch them, OK?
11:40Promise.
11:40Leave them up there.
11:41I will find it so insulting if you get rid of them, OK?
11:44OK, I promise.
11:47Stop it!
11:48Put that swallow...
11:50Ah-ha!
11:51You've taken them all off!
11:53Wow.
11:59It's a big old wall.
12:02Sophie is also taking inspiration from nature.
12:06Reflecting the grounds with the green colour,
12:08the views from the window are just gorgeous,
12:11so I'm bringing that into the room.
12:13I'm the lesser romantic out of me and my husband,
12:17but the inspiration for my room definitely has come from thinking about
12:21when I feel most connected to him.
12:24During our dog walks in the morning,
12:26we have an hour and a half together, no phones,
12:28just to be with each other, and it's so nice.
12:31So, I run with that for my scheme.
12:34It's brought the inner romantic out of me doing this brief.
12:39This is...
12:40The wallpaper.
12:41Wallpaper.
12:43This, I thought, was lovely because it's so outdoorsy.
12:46It's got, like, a bit of a vintage-y effect.
12:47And then, compliment the ceiling colour.
12:52Sophie's peacock wallpaper will adorn the wall behind her bed
12:56and the fireplace wall opposite.
12:58Her ceiling will be golden ochre
13:01with a 70s-style tasseled pendant light
13:03and matching bedside lamps.
13:05Sophie has designed a window seat with storage underneath.
13:10Using the old wardrobe and desk,
13:12she'll make a brand-new dressing station and bar.
13:16All other walls are going green
13:18with a textured lime wash finish.
13:21Which, as a specialist painter, she's applying herself.
13:25This is my lime wash effect.
13:29So, I just go in with sort of criss-cross technique
13:33because there's a slightly metallic pigment in the paint
13:36that highlights the brush stroke,
13:38so then, as it dries, you can see the effect.
13:45Oh, this is so exciting.
13:47Leah's also going green.
13:49I am drenching the entire room green.
13:52But hers is just a backdrop for her true passion.
13:56Flowers.
13:57There's so many wildflowers when you drive around here.
13:59So, there's a lot of dry flowers in the room.
14:01I managed to source this gorgeous chandelier.
14:04When I'm done, it's going to look like
14:07you've walked into a garden centre with diamonds.
14:21I'm going to knock out all the competition with this.
14:24Johnny is hoping to make an impact with his theme.
14:27I'm doing, like, an art piece with them
14:29to basically have them as a feature,
14:31as a subtle nod to Alice in Wonderland.
14:33The name of my room is Alice's Room,
14:36and it's inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
14:39by Lewis Carroll,
14:40because Lewis Carroll is from not too far from here,
14:43and also a personal connection to me
14:45because I performed in Alice in Wonderland
14:47in a touring musical.
14:48It screams a different type of romance to me.
14:52So, the colours I've chosen are mainly blues and reds,
14:55and that's because it's, you know,
14:56symbolising those two worlds.
14:58So, blue for Alice and red for, like, the Queen of Hearts.
15:02Come on in.
15:03What's going on in here?
15:04Nice.
15:05So, the blue's going on here as well.
15:08Oh, that's so good.
15:10It's really shocking. I love it.
15:12Yeah. It's shocking.
15:13That's not what I was expecting.
15:14No, no, no, no. It's, like, the opposite of mine.
15:16Mine's, like, really tonal.
15:17Yours is, like, really aggressively different.
15:19The contrast, yeah.
15:19The shelves look really good.
15:20Yeah, yeah, they're cool.
15:21I love the height.
15:22Yeah, it really highlights it, doesn't it?
15:24Yeah, and then you've done the furniture too.
15:25I'll be painting, like, a Red Roses mural all round it, like this.
15:29Oh, Johnny, this is so good.
15:31I just saw Johnny's, and it's bummed me out a little bit.
15:35He's just gone full contemporary.
15:37The colours are punchy.
15:38The furniture's super contemporary.
15:40Whereas I've tried to stay within the castle theme.
15:43I think that's where I've, like, made a lot of compromises.
15:48It's halfway through day one, and colour is transforming the hotel.
15:53I don't know what my painter had for lunch, but he is rapid.
16:00The bedrooms are over four metres tall, so the designers must decide how to incorporate high
16:06ceilings into their schemes.
16:09I'm actually really enjoying looking up and see the colour.
16:12It does really pop.
16:14Ajit plans to lower the height of his room by painting the ceiling and top of his walls
16:19in a dark colour.
16:21We're going for a kind of dark teal green, but then contrasting that with this lovely
16:26textured wallpaper that is almost kind of like white plaster, but with gold speckles
16:29in there.
16:30And also these gold leaf sprayed octagon shapes.
16:34I'm playing on the historical elements and context of Peckforton Castle.
16:37The octagon is a really iconic motif for Peckforton.
16:41It kind of features quite a bit in its architecture.
16:43So it just brings that kind of shape of Peckforton into the space a little bit.
16:48I think it's looking really pretty.
16:49I'm quite happy with how it's turned out.
16:53Emily is also going for a 3D effect on her walls.
16:57Look at these!
16:59Do you like them?
17:00Love them!
17:00I've hidden paper mache in the walls.
17:03Well, listen, can we talk about last week?
17:06Michelle really didn't like your papier-mache coat hangers.
17:09Maybe she likes it this way.
17:11Okay.
17:12We've done reliefs to match the castle.
17:14So I grew up near Sherwood Forest.
17:16So I'm basing it on Maid Marian.
17:18So look, I've done a crown for Maid Marian.
17:20It's cardboard, air-dried clay.
17:22So anyone could make it?
17:23Could I make these?
17:24Yeah, you could.
17:26Michelle wanted to be romantic.
17:27Do you find medieval romantic?
17:29Do you like men in tights?
17:31Do you find Robin Hood attractive?
17:33I mean, he's not unattractive.
17:36Hello?
17:37You wouldn't kick him out of Sherwood Forest, would you?
17:38No, absolutely not.
17:44Emily's air-dried clay reliefs will go into the walls around the fireplace and opposite the bed.
17:50She's painting the ceiling sage green and the wall behind the bed live pink.
17:56Emily will add an open wardrobe and hang a medieval-style chandelier.
18:01She's swapping out the existing hotel bed head for a second-hand find.
18:07So this headboard, the lady, when I collected it, said her great-grandmother was born under it and died under
18:14it.
18:15And I just thought it's really beautiful and ornate.
18:17It matches the Maid Marian aesthetic.
18:22Unlike Emily...
18:23There's just lots of little intricate bits.
18:25I've got to try and just take my time with it.
18:27Most of the designers have decided to upcycle the hotel's headboards.
18:32The bed already has a beautiful headboard,
18:34so I'm creating bespoke bedside cabinets that will be attached into the bed frame.
18:40So it just feels like one big structure.
18:43While Frankie's creating one out of a second-hand screen.
18:46So my headboard was a beautiful room divider that I found second-hand.
18:52And in the interest of sustainability, I wanted to upcycle it.
18:55But it's not wide enough, so I decided to cut it in half
18:58and then reuse the bottom half to pad out the sides.
19:01This has to go right, because I've only got one of these.
19:08Oh, my God, hooray! It's done!
19:13The goal is just to make it a real statement piece.
19:16So, originally, they were going to be plumb,
19:18but I think it actually needs something grand.
19:19And the first thing you notice, they've got full gold.
19:24Ben is also reinventing a second-hand find.
19:27So, we've got a single bed,
19:29and we're going to try and make a king and queen kind of style headboard out of it, basically.
19:33It's got two different heights,
19:34but we obviously want to make it still flow across the top,
19:36just so it's all in keeping.
19:37What I'll do is take this long leg off here and put that on there.
19:41Yeah.
19:41Look forward to making your dreams come true.
19:42Yeah, thank you very much. I look forward to seeing it.
19:45But Kate's making one from scratch.
19:48I am about to upholster the headboard.
19:51I'm going to stick some really dense foam to it,
19:53and then wrap some fabric around.
19:56I've never done a shape like this before,
19:58so this is going to be a first.
20:00I don't know why I chose to do this,
20:02but I absolutely do hate wrapping.
20:05I've gone for a quite complicated arch,
20:07but I feel like it just brings in a bit more of the architecture.
20:11And it's not just headboards being upholstered.
20:15The biggest challenge for the space right now
20:17is just the amount of upholstery I need to do.
20:20It's not something that I've ever done before.
20:21I'm hoping someone can give me a guided hand on that.
20:24Hi, Alan. How are you doing?
20:26What are you doing more to the point?
20:28I'm reupholstering this chaise longue.
20:30So have you upholstered before?
20:32I've never done upholstery before.
20:33No, I don't.
20:34So I thought I'd go in big with a full chaise longue.
20:36Why don't you start with just a footstool?
20:39Let's go big or go home.
20:40Would you like to be the first one to crown the chaise longue?
20:42Can I?
20:42Please do.
20:43Oh.
20:44But, you know, comfy.
20:45Oh, this is nice.
20:46Does it feel luxurious?
20:47That's what I'm going for in my room.
20:49It does.
20:49It feels romantic.
20:51Are you romantic, Ajit?
20:52I'm not normally one for the big romantic gestures,
20:55but I am calling my room Waterford
20:57after the birthplace of my partner Ronan.
21:00That's where he's from in Ireland.
21:02Waterford?
21:03Yes.
21:03Oh, good job he wasn't born in Chernobyl.
21:05Oh, well, yeah.
21:06Well, I love it here.
21:08What's that little thing in golf you put the golf ball on?
21:10I mean, a tea.
21:11Tea, yeah.
21:12Milk, two sugars.
21:13Off you pop.
21:14And a bickie.
21:16OK.
21:28The chaise is something I've brought in,
21:31mainly because I think it is quite romantic.
21:33You've all seen Titanic,
21:34where he's painting her on the chaise longue.
21:37She's going to repaint it,
21:38because obviously there's a few marks on it.
21:40We're going to paint that up,
21:41and we're going to do a nice new upholstery trim on it as well.
21:45We quickly built this platform,
21:47and the chaise longue will sit on the platform,
21:49but it's quite nice,
21:50because it frames the window, too.
21:52I'm clear.
21:53Can you recline?
21:55Oh!
21:56Very glamorous.
21:58Also going for a glamorous window seat is Leah.
22:01I've gone for bunket seating in the window,
22:04just to highlight, obviously, this gorgeous view,
22:07and I will upholster it in a kind of red herringbone fabric.
22:13Oh, so speedy, Piers.
22:15Yeah.
22:16Amazing.
22:17Let's see if it fits.
22:18Not that I doubt your skills in any way.
22:21It's going to be so nice to sit and have a wee glass of bubbly.
22:27Lovely.
22:28And Sophie's had the same idea.
22:31I can just picture myself curled up here, gazing out.
22:34But she's adding in some storage.
22:37This is the design,
22:40how it's going to look with the open storage.
22:42So the carpenter has made this frame.
22:44He currently is cutting me some arches
22:48so that it is going to mimic the window.
22:51I'm then going to do the upholstery for that,
22:53and then hopefully it all slots together and looks amazing.
22:59As the sun goes down on the Gothic castle...
23:03So it's going to be like that, all the way round.
23:06..the designers turn to adding some romantic lighting.
23:10How is your chandelier going?
23:12You decided white?
23:13Yeah.
23:14However cool this would look, like, bright green,
23:16I'm restraining myself.
23:18Yeah.
23:19I'm trying to let it breathe a little bit
23:20because I filled my space way too much last time.
23:23Yeah.
23:23And I'm like, also, when you're in a hotel room,
23:26you don't want to have, like, so much around you.
23:28Yeah, that's so true.
23:30That's good, you're being refined.
23:32I'm just like, more is more, baby.
23:42Duran, what the hell are you doing with that octopus?
23:46No, don't say it's an octopus.
23:48No.
23:49It's not meant to be an octopus.
23:50I know it's a chandelier.
23:53But it's not an octopus chandelier.
23:55No, isn't it?
23:55I mean, it looks like...
23:56What's this look like?
23:57That's a petal, a flower.
23:59And it goes on there.
24:01Oh, so what, like, Japanese knotweed?
24:03No.
24:04Poison ivy?
24:05It's like an abstract flower growing out of the ceiling.
24:09Ah!
24:10Do you want to give a little paint?
24:12Really?
24:12So you take that.
24:13Yeah.
24:14What's your idea of romance?
24:16Because that's the buzzword for this, isn't it?
24:18I think I'm a bit weird.
24:19I don't like the stereotypical romance.
24:23Not roses, chocolates?
24:25No, I'm not interested.
24:26I want a bit of fantasy, a bit of surrealism.
24:30Surrealism?
24:30What, like, turns you on like fish?
24:33Octopuses, clearly.
24:35I get it now.
24:36So this is surreal.
24:38The idea as well is that this is going to be painted in the colours of the room.
24:42Yeah.
24:42So when you come in here, it feels like you're inside a flower.
24:45Yeah.
24:45So over here, I'm creating a kind of sculpture to disguise the TV.
24:50So is the TV going to be hidden?
24:52Yeah, it'll be like a little cupboard.
24:54TVs aren't romantic.
24:55No, you come here for a romantic thing.
24:57You want to be laying on the bed looking up at the octopus.
25:00Exactly.
25:00Looking up some tentacles.
25:05I would say that lightning is probably one of the most important parts of the hotel room.
25:09All right, three, two, one.
25:10It really sets the tone.
25:15Oh, so big.
25:16I love it.
25:17Good.
25:21Oh, it's so pretty.
25:24Oh, it's so pretty.
25:47And it just gives it a beautiful little pink tinge.
25:52Honestly, it looks the same as the chandelier that was thousands of pounds.
25:56It's bougie on a budget.
26:01You can do the honours.
26:04After a big day, it's time for bed.
26:07He's not going to get up now.
26:08Look at him.
26:13Looked absolutely fantastic here, mate.
26:14You're doing a cracking job today.
26:16Back tomorrow then?
26:17Great.
26:18Thank you so much for today.
26:19We'll see you later.
26:20Bye.
26:27I spent the whole day today on my flower chandelier.
26:31It's just taken so much longer than I anticipated, so I've got a lot of catching up to do tomorrow.
26:39That's it for day one.
26:49I've got so much to do.
26:51It'll look amazing.
26:52It'll look amazing.
26:53It will when you've got everything together.
27:00Hello, hello, hello.
27:01Morning.
27:02Good morning.
27:03Good morning.
27:04Got some lessons today.
27:06Just three.
27:07First things first, I think, get the fireplace around.
27:10And also, I've got to build out that little corner in the back as an open wardrobe with the railing
27:15shelves.
27:16So we've got a lot to do.
27:17We do, don't we?
27:18Don't hate me.
27:19But let's get going.
27:21Today is the big furniture build.
27:23We're putting the wardrobe into the middle of the desk.
27:25So we are going to reduce the size of the desk and essentially slot the wardrobe into the middle of
27:30it.
27:31So it becomes a brand new piece of furniture.
27:35While Sophie's mashing up the hotel's wardrobe and desk, Leah's doing a simple paint job.
27:41So I've decided to take the door off it.
27:44So I'm going to make a kind of silk curtain that will just kind of cover the mess of people's
27:48clothes inside.
27:51First cut of the door, it's not messing around.
27:54And Emily's ditched her wardrobe altogether.
27:57That's amazing.
28:24That's amazing.
28:27So I'm going to make a look at it with a beautiful brass looking clothes rail.
28:33I'm actually starting to feel really excited about the furniture now.
28:36So I'm upcycling a majority of the furniture that's in the room.
28:39But I'm giving them a new lease of life with a new look of paint in this really lovely plaster
28:43pink.
28:44But John is going bold.
28:47So the bed head, I'm painting in a bright red colour, which is really cool.
28:50And I'm matching that with my side tables and lamps.
28:54I'm spraying them in the exact same colour as the beds.
28:57You've got a little something.
28:59I look like I've had a nosebleed, but it's just red spray.
29:04Frankie's dipping into her second-hand finds for her bed sides.
29:08The side tables are actually these, don't judge me, lilac and gold.
29:13Marbled plant stands made of Plaza of Paris, but they're so ugly, they're beautiful.
29:19And I think it really makes the room feel more contemporary.
29:25So I'm currently painting the bedside tables.
29:28I think it just adds and elevates the Victorian romanticism that I'm looking for.
29:33Well, we're in a castle, so I'm sitting on the throne of all thrones.
29:51Halfway through day two...
29:53I love it.
29:55..in Duran's room...
29:56My breakdown is postponed.
29:58For an extra five minutes.
30:00..her TV cupboard is taking shape.
30:03I've got a big tower that's going to be surrounding the fireplace and the TV.
30:09I think the risk with building the pyramid shape is that it could come across as a circus tent.
30:13That is not what I'm going for.
30:15I really want to celebrate the architecture of the castle and bring in some of those shapes
30:19and do something that feels, again, very surrealist, a little bit fantasy-like.
30:24It's a great hack, but it looks pretty.
30:28Kate's found a more simple solution to hide the television.
30:31This is a charity shop picture frame that we've just attached some elastic to the back.
30:36So the elastic just clips over the back of the TV.
30:38Instant phone TV.
30:40Would you be able to hold that?
30:42And she's not the only one with that hack.
30:45The TV is going to be framed, so it looks like a picture.
30:48Could you lift it up?
30:49I wouldn't be coming to a romantic retreat sitting watching the telly.
30:51Back up.
30:52Your romantic retreat's probably not going too well if you're both watching the telly.
31:00Definitely not a painter.
31:02With paintwork complete...
31:05Job done.
31:07..the designers can start to adorn their walls.
31:11I created this using AI.
31:13This one's going to go above the bed, along with the king.
31:16They're facing each other as well.
31:18Just to add a bit more romance to my room,
31:21because mine's a bit unconventional romance.
31:24Oh, hello!
31:25Oh, fancy a book?
31:26Yeah!
31:27I decided to make a big feature of a load of old vintage books that I got secondhand.
31:31Oh, okay!
31:32It's going to be an art piece, and if you fancied a little read whilst you were here, you could.
31:35Okay, and why would you do this, instead of popping them on a shelf like normal people?
31:40Well, my room theme is Alice in Wonderland, loose carol, the author is from local to here, so I was
31:45trying to highlight all of the adventures she goes on.
31:48Is that a trapeze?
31:49Yeah, so I've got a hoop coming down for you, you do a bit of aerial if you want.
31:53Oh, because I used to be in Cirque du Soleil.
31:54Oh, did you?
31:55No.
31:56You're not going to put a trapeze?
31:58No!
31:58What is it for?
31:59Basically, this is just supporting some fabric that'll drape down over the bed to create some drama.
32:04Oh, I get it.
32:05What's this Alice in Wonderland room?
32:07I don't know what's real and what's not, I feel like I have had that potion.
32:15The arrows are to represent Maid Marian, because she was an archer.
32:22Emily's making her artwork out of her favourite material.
32:26I'm just paper mache and some arrows, so I'm going to shoot them through the mouldings of my wall.
32:32I know I've been very good in planning and well-behaved and not going crazy with my hotel room,
32:39but I wanted to add a little bit of rebellion.
32:41I love paper mache and I will not be stopping using it.
32:46Leah's also got a medieval-inspired artwork up her sleeve.
32:50Hi, Leah.
32:51Hi, Alan.
32:52Where the hell are these going to go?
32:54Yeah, these are maybe my less romantic side coming out.
32:56Is this your Scottish side coming out?
32:58Or if you go out in Glasgow, maybe you need to be wearing these.
33:01So where are you going to put them?
33:02And the arm is going to come out the wall and then he's going to be handing a bunch of
33:06flowers.
33:08Okay.
33:08My passion is like florals and dry flowers, so that's kind of where the inspiration came for the mural.
33:14I mean, this is breathtaking.
33:16It's hopefully the piece de resistance of the room, you know?
33:20Well, not if you've got hay fever.
33:24Duran's main artwork, her chandelier...
33:27I keep forgetting it's an actual light.
33:30...has finally made it up on the ceiling.
33:37What on earth have I created?
33:39I think it's a huge risk to spend so much time on one element.
33:43One item of furniture or an art piece doesn't sell a space.
33:48But I think it shows that I've got a point of view and so I hope that it pays off.
33:55We've just a few hours to go.
33:58We have curtains.
33:59Curtains are up.
34:01It's time to dress those gothic windows.
34:04Curtains.
34:06And while some designers have kept the hotel's heavy jacquard ones...
34:10Because I made the decision to keep the curtains, I was able to keep a little bit of budget back
34:15this week.
34:15My money has been spent on paint.
34:19Others have invested a third of their budgets, having new ones made.
34:24The curtains look incredible.
34:26I was really nervous that it was quite an investment to change.
34:29I can already see like the light hitting against them.
34:32They just look so expensive.
34:34Since what most of my money went on.
34:40When I was looking at my budget and trying to work out what to spend the money on,
34:43it seemed wasteful to spend a lot of money on curtains when I could factor all of that money
34:46into dressing the room because actually that's the bit that's going to make it feel really special.
34:53Watch your feet on the carpet.
34:56With furniture going back in the rooms...
34:59Do you want to get the bedding out?
35:01Dressing can begin.
35:06Hello. I'm looking for Lady Francesca Ratcliffe. Do you know her?
35:10That would be me a hundred years ago.
35:12Oh really?
35:13In a past life.
35:14What's this?
35:15We've got a swan.
35:16Lovely. What would you do with this swan?
35:18I don't know. Is this going to go somewhere?
35:20Feels like a beautiful...
35:22That doesn't go on there.
35:23It doesn't.
35:24Dressing is important, isn't it, when it comes to a room like this?
35:27And I feel like this design is like heavily weighted on the dressing.
35:31Yeah, yeah.
35:31It's all about the textures, the pillows.
35:33You can see I've bought 1,700 pillows.
35:36It's all about the textiles for me and the small things in this room.
35:40These are from a guy also off the internet called Wayne.
35:43Wayne!
35:44Yeah, I met him in a graveyard.
35:46Amazing what you can pick up in a graveyard, isn't it?
35:51So this is kind of my favourite part,
35:53although because I spent so much on the curtains,
35:57I really didn't have a lot of budget left for staging bits and pieces that I would usually have.
36:04I've gone for a stripe bedding because I love the colourway against the wallpaper.
36:10I think the clash is going to be really nice and the stripe as well because it's that way.
36:15It'll draw your eye to the headboard, which is lovely.
36:20I think when you go to a hotel room, you never want coloured bedsheets.
36:23I mean, I don't.
36:24You want them to feel fresh and clean, but clean and white.
36:36One hour to go.
36:40Let's get this into place.
36:44It should look like accidental.
36:47Here we go.
36:48Whatever. Done.
36:52Ta-da.
36:54And then that one.
36:57It's like a glove.
37:00Antique tiles is going to go on the back of the units and then that's done.
37:17Bit of the outside in.
37:21This arrow should be the line of that one there and then we go down from that.
37:25From that, okay.
37:25Yeah, sorry, we got there in the end.
37:28We're a bit bonking.
37:30Looking good.
37:31Just needs a bit of a hoover, I think.
37:32This is just a final little nod to Alice in Wonderland.
37:35Just eat me, drink me, that kind of little subtle thing.
37:44These lamps contrasts with vintage headboard and the furniture.
38:05Oh, I think I'm done.
38:08Let's get that.
38:10Oh, God, that is actually really comfy.
38:16Michelle's arrived to judge the hotel rooms
38:19with this week's guest judge, Linda Baranque.
38:22Could you design a castle in a, you know, medieval style?
38:26I would love to, of course.
38:28I think it's such a great brief for any designer.
38:32Global interiors icon Linda Baranque
38:34has designed some of the world's most exclusive hotels
38:38and hospitality spaces.
38:40I truly believe that a successful hotel bedroom
38:43is a place that will live vividly in your memory
38:46and give me a very strong sense of personality.
38:49You can achieve that through clever use of colour,
38:52interesting combination of textures,
38:54clever use of lighting, choice of furniture
38:57and amazing accessorising.
39:00It's not just about the decor, it's also the practicalities.
39:04So I do want to walk in and see a beautifully dressed bed
39:07that looks comfortable and inviting,
39:09but also, is there somewhere to hang my clothes?
39:11Where do I do my make-up?
39:12So it'll be really interesting to see what they've come up with.
39:20I am really pleased with how the space feels when you walk in.
39:24The space feels cohesive,
39:26but I've also added my hacks in there,
39:28so fingers crossed I've done what you said.
39:32It's a rather lovely room.
39:34I feel so relaxed immediately as I walk in.
39:37You know what's interesting is that Kate removed an existing wardrobe
39:41and created this open rail,
39:43and it still feels very luxurious.
39:46And also she considered having enough storage with the drawers.
39:49I love that she's had the courage to use plaster to do the stenciling
39:55because it just gives it a three-dimensionality
39:57that makes it look so much more luxe than if she'd just painted it.
40:02Kate loves a good hack.
40:03The first example is the chandelier.
40:05Just by dipping the edges in that pink,
40:08it really does transform it.
40:10Yeah, it's quite clever.
40:11You know, these things sell for hundreds, if not thousands.
40:19I definitely have created a space that is suitable for special occasions.
40:22To me, a triumph is the books.
40:24I think they are a real statement piece.
40:26I have no idea what Michelle and Linda might say.
40:28I hope they love it.
40:29Oh, my goodness.
40:32There's a lot to look at.
40:33I think it's a dangerous rabbit hole you've gone down in.
40:36I see what you've done there.
40:37When you're using a theme this strong, like Alice in Wonderland,
40:41it's enough to have small hints.
40:43This time, maybe he pushed it too far,
40:45but at least we can see his personality and what he's all about.
40:48He's really decided to work with the height.
40:52He's not bringing the ceiling down at all.
40:53He's taking everything up to the ceiling.
40:55And I rather love that he's added in this very tall shelf.
40:59It does work because it creates a little room within a room.
41:02And that arrangement with the books, I think it's genius.
41:10I feel like my final room is the perfect blend of real-time Frankie,
41:14Lady Francesca Ratcliffe, and how she would have lived.
41:17It still feels like you're in a castle,
41:20and it feels like dark and romantic and cozy.
41:23Wow, it's a bit of a visual overload.
41:25It's like every single wall is a different color.
41:28I really like how she raised the chairs in front of the window
41:32so that you can actually enjoy the view.
41:35There's a lack of coherence here for me.
41:38I'm not quite sure what her overall concept was.
41:40And she's tried to bring a whole lifetime of stories in here,
41:43but she needs to have one strong piece,
41:46which to me should always be the bed,
41:47and then everything else complements that.
41:50I think to take a room divider screen
41:52and make it as a headboard is wonderful,
41:56but the shape and the color together is just too overly ornate.
42:02You would never want this many cushions in a hotel bedroom
42:05because most of them are ending up on the floor.
42:07Yeah, I think she treated this room more like her own bedroom
42:11and not as a hotel bedroom.
42:16I do think I've created a space to celebrate special occasions.
42:20The paneling, the textured wallpaper, the octagon ceiling rows,
42:24I think that really harks back to those moments of celebration.
42:29Oh, what a transformation with all the paneling Ajit's added.
42:34I really, really love how he brought the ceiling down
42:38with the clever use of color.
42:39It really helps the room to feel more intimate and cocoon-like.
42:43And that's amplified by this kind of dark teal.
42:46It goes very well with the cream tones.
42:48And this wallpaper is rather gorgeous,
42:49the way the light hits it at certain points.
42:52I like that little pop of gold.
42:54Oh, look at the ceiling. I love what Ajit's done.
42:56He's framed the chandelier.
42:58I think the chaise really works in this room,
43:01but it's just the quality of the upholstery could have been better.
43:10I've kept it subtle, I've kept it romantic,
43:12I've thought about the overall space,
43:14and I definitely want to check into that hotel room.
43:18As you walk in, those two arrows pointing towards you,
43:22I found that quite intrusive.
43:24It feels like Emily starts off with quite a high concept idea,
43:28but then she's not yet learned how to translate that into interior design.
43:32I can see details, and I see her work being very sculptural,
43:37and I'm enjoying those moments,
43:39but she didn't weave it throughout the whole room.
43:42I would love if she would have had a mirror or a piece of art
43:46on top of that headboard, just so that I feel invited into the room.
43:50What she introduced in place of the wardrobe is a bit weird.
43:54This is a bedroom, it has to feel atmospheric,
43:56it has to feel comfortable.
44:01My headline for this space was medieval hunting romance.
44:04I've definitely been my girlfriend in this room,
44:06I think she'd absolutely adore it.
44:07Wow, this is a medieval room,
44:09which I'm really enjoying in this setting.
44:11Ben is proving himself to be quite a master of the mix and mismatch.
44:16So you've got this quite oldie-worldie wallpaper
44:19with the wooden bedhead and the framed portraits,
44:23but then these lovely ceramic contemporary lights.
44:26I'm really, really enjoying that moment in front of the window.
44:30He's had the confidence to keep the original curtains
44:32because they work perfectly.
44:34A little bit too busy, but it's a very enjoyable room.
44:41I think my room feels really fresh and soft and romantic.
44:47I spent a long time working on my chandelier.
44:50The one area of my room that I really wanted to give a little more time to
44:54was the open wardrobe area,
44:56but we compromised and you just hope you've done enough.
44:59And here we've walked into a fairground almost.
45:04You know, there's a real sense of whimsy in this room.
45:08I like how she framed the fireplace and made it a tent-like.
45:12I want to open those cupboards and see, find out what's inside.
45:16That's the TV.
45:17It has to be, doesn't it?
45:18Let me check.
45:21Yes, it is.
45:23How brilliant.
45:24But have you spotted the chandelier?
45:27It's a work of art.
45:28It's so confidently odd.
45:29There's something kind of glorious about it.
45:32She's kept the old-style headboard,
45:34but then inserted modern side tables.
45:38I actually think it works.
45:40It's a perfect combination of traditional and contemporary.
45:43But as a hotel room, whether it's functional enough for someone to stay here,
45:48I'm not sure.
45:49I would have put more storage under the wardrobe space.
45:53We've lost out a little bit on the practicality in service to surrealism.
46:01I mean, flowers are romantic, so I hope I've hit that part of the brief.
46:06I do love the green color choice and the chandelier,
46:09but part of me is now, like, have I been creative enough?
46:14Gosh.
46:15I love the dried flower arrangement.
46:18It's a gorgeous thing to look at.
46:19I really, really love this green.
46:21She's kept the furniture, modernized it by painting it cream.
46:25It's almost like the decision to keep that furniture
46:27has then compromised other things
46:29because the wardrobe cuts into the massive mural.
46:31The bedhead cuts into the massive mural.
46:33When you're designing a bedroom,
46:35you have to decide what your focal point is.
46:37And here I'm, again, finding myself looking at every single surface.
46:41I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to look at.
46:43She, again, has replaced the curtains, which I think that works.
46:47I like the contrast of the sort of old gold and the green.
46:50Then she's designed in a beautiful little seat by the window.
46:54I adore that.
46:55That is absolutely gorgeous, isn't it?
47:01It's an assault on the senses with color and pattern,
47:03but hopefully in a way that works.
47:05It's the curated chaos that I strive for.
47:08I definitely took a risk with the furniture build,
47:10so I'm really proud of how that's come together.
47:14My immediate impression is what a lovely feel it has.
47:18I think her color choices and the furniture
47:20just gives me this feel of luxury and coziness and comfort,
47:25and that's what you're looking for in a bedroom.
47:27She's made it sing by using that wallpaper,
47:30not just a panel that's framed,
47:32but wallpapering the whole wall,
47:34which has a generosity of spirit to it that's quite lovely.
47:36But then she's visually dropped the ceiling
47:39by giving it a different color
47:40and giving us this very high-level picture veil,
47:44which is appropriate for the grandeur of the room,
47:46and a window seat.
47:48But look, it's even useful, the space underneath for storage.
47:52I know, I just love that.
47:54Oh, look, she's then created a piece of furniture
47:57out of the old pieces of furniture,
47:58which, because it's all the same style, really does work.
48:03And the paint effect on the green walls is just...
48:06It's beautiful.
48:07There's such great coordination.
48:09I think Sophie's really shown me an extra dimension to herself.
48:16Before they hear what the judges think of their rooms...
48:19Purple.
48:21The designers get a chance to check out the competition.
48:24Duran's light is insane.
48:27I don't know whether to put clothes in or go for confession.
48:30Holy Leo, I have sinned.
48:32Oh, my God.
48:34That is amazing.
48:35It does make you feel small, like you're Alex.
48:39Johnny's really pushed himself.
48:40Yeah, it's perfect. He's done a really good job.
48:42Feeling nervous.
48:43How cool is that?
48:45I feel a bit nervous now after seeing this.
48:50The designers are back in Brighton to find out who's one standout space
48:55and who will be on Michelle's sofa.
48:58Come on in.
48:59Take the seats.
49:00Glad you all made it out before they pulled the drawbridge up.
49:04So, Duran, did the octopus end up on the ceiling
49:07or did it try and climb out the window?
49:09It's on the ceiling.
49:10And Maid Marian...
49:12Oh, sorry, Emily.
49:13Did you find your Robin Hood or was he more of a little John?
49:17Robin Hood.
49:20Well, you were judged by Interior Design Master's very own happy couple.
49:25But are they still happy?
49:27It's Michelle and Linda.
49:34So, was there a clear king and queen of the castle?
49:38And who should be in the dungeons?
49:42I must say, the brief you had this week, castle, a heritage site,
49:46was really interesting to see how each and every one of you
49:49took it to a very different level.
49:51So, Michelle, who won standout space?
49:56Well, there was an absolute clear winner for us.
49:59Someone who we felt absolutely nailed the brief on every level.
50:04It was romantic, it was updated, it was modernised,
50:07and yet it still referenced the castle.
50:10So, congratulations, Sophie!
50:12Oh!
50:13Woo-hoo!
50:17It felt so comfortable within that beautiful setting of that castle.
50:21So, really, congratulations.
50:23Thank you very much.
50:25So, did any of the other rooms make you say,
50:28I do want to keep you in the competition?
50:31I would also love to send through, with huge congratulations...
50:36Kate!
50:38I could really tell that you took on board
50:41everything that you learnt from the sofa last week.
50:44It had such a strong sense of romance.
50:46And I particularly loved the beautiful plaster work.
50:50Also going through...
50:53Ben!
50:54Yeah, I really think your room oozed confidence in the colour scheme.
50:58I love that punchy blue chaise.
51:01Next to go through...
51:03Next to go through...
51:04Ajit.
51:05Again, your room is a very sophisticated, gentle exploration of what a hotel room could be.
51:11Thank you so much.
51:12Also going through...
51:15..will be Leah.
51:16I think the colour scheme was beautiful, and it's really had a beautiful atmosphere, so congratulations.
51:22And then Johnny, well done.
51:25We loved how you heroed the height of your space.
51:28So that does mean that Duran, Emily and Frankie, I would love to see you on my sofa.
51:35And to the rest of you, congratulations.
51:37I'll see you next week.
51:42I've just won stand-out space.
51:46Yes!
51:47Michelle and Linda said that the room had a great atmosphere, and that was what I was striving for, really.
51:53It was that special feeling that I wanted to convey.
51:56So, yeah, really, really happy.
52:01That was a lot, wasn't it?
52:03Yeah, I'm good.
52:03I love you.
52:05I honestly, I was, like, super proud of what I did, but it clearly has more developments to do,
52:11and I guess this is part of the competition.
52:15Yeah, I'm back on the sofa.
52:18I think the tiny thing niggling in the back of my head is just that it could have been more
52:24contemporary,
52:24and maybe I tried too hard to make it too castle-y.
52:29I feel a little confused.
52:32There was so much that I did achieve in that space, and it was so unique.
52:36I'm curious to see if it's something that maybe I've not realised or noticed.
52:42Hi, guys.
52:43Hi.
52:44Hi.
52:46Hi.
52:47So, Emily, you've come so far, so fast, literally, in one week.
52:51It's fantastic.
52:52Obviously, you're creative, you've got a unique eye, but then when we take a step back,
52:57there was a mismatch between how the room actually worked, as opposed to the individual pieces.
53:03So, your arrows were pointing at me as soon as I walked in the room.
53:07Because I tried to make it really calm and light and airy, and then I just shot arrows at you.
53:13I'm sorry.
53:14Maybe you should have placed them above the bed, because on the other hand, the bed elevation was quite empty,
53:19and that would be your focal point.
53:21It's a bedroom.
53:21It's the bath head.
53:23I need you to let go of your identity as an artist, and then allow yourself to become a designer.
53:31And with that means that the art is the final layer.
53:35So, if you don't get time to add the little keys around the lampshade, your room will still work.
53:42Ger-Anne, shall we move on to you?
53:43Yes.
53:44We really enjoyed your room.
53:46It was very modern, it was refreshing.
53:48You were the only person that actually designed something to house the TV, so I was like, hallelujah.
53:53Tell me what your thinking was in relation to the medieval castle.
53:58Surrealism is something that I'm really inspired by, you know, taking something that's classic and kind of flipping it.
54:03And I lent into more of the magic and, like, the whimsy of it, rather than the literal idea of
54:09medieval castle.
54:10I loved the colour choices.
54:12I loved your whimsical chandelier.
54:14I felt good inside your room because of those design choices.
54:19What you fell short of is the wardrobe space, is those practical details that makes a hotel bedroom either work
54:27or doesn't work.
54:27If you were checking into that room, as much as you might be admiring the chandelier, where am I hanging
54:32my clothes?
54:33Yeah, I'm really aware and I wouldn't be satisfied with that if I walked in, you know, I'd want somewhere
54:37for my things.
54:39So, Frankie.
54:40Hi.
54:40You had quite a complicated concept behind your room.
54:45With you created a fantasy occupant, so we walked into her room.
54:50I wanted it to feel really, like, faded glamour and all these beautiful things that had all these different stories.
54:57When I walked into your room, I felt it didn't have that clean, luxurious hotel feel.
55:03There were so many things happening.
55:05You know, I just didn't know where to look first.
55:07This wasn't my favourite brief.
55:08I'm very contemporary and I felt like that wasn't the right fit for the castle.
55:13So then I was trying to do something slightly outside of my comfort zone.
55:16And I think I maybe took the things too far and should have pulled back a little bit.
55:21So it was more of a hint of a story.
55:24Absolutely.
55:25The hero of a hotel room is the bed.
55:28And I want to get into that bed and feel relaxed and feel it's gorgeous.
55:31Emily, you chose a beautiful headboard.
55:34You had the old side tables, then you matched them with the very modern lamps.
55:38And that whole colour scheme, absolutely beautiful.
55:42Duran, as well, we absolutely adored your bed because you'd married the old headboard with the new side tables,
55:49lifted the whole thing with the glossy green, and then your choice of the bed linen as well.
55:54Absolutely beautiful.
55:56Frankie, your bed, we loved the way that you'd use the room divider to make the headboard.
56:02But then you'd made it shiny gold.
56:05Then we had so much going on.
56:07And so somehow it didn't allow that room to have the bed as the hero.
56:11And so on that basis, as rough as it might seem, I'm so sorry, but Frankie, you'll be the person
56:18leaving us this week.
56:19Thanks for your feedback.
56:20I've had a great time and the competition is so stiff.
56:23These guys are phenomenal.
56:25Frankie.
56:27The castle space was definitely going against my grain.
56:31And I really wanted the chance to do, to show off my style elsewhere.
56:36But this isn't the end.
56:38It's just the beginning.
56:39The other designers are absolutely phenomenal.
56:42And I'm so proud of them.
56:43So good luck, guys.
56:45You've got this, okay?
56:47Good luck.
56:48Frankie admitted that she was out of her comfort zone this week.
56:51And I think that's why she threw everything at this room.
56:54But there was no real discernible link between all the things she chose.
56:58And as a hotel guest, when I opened that door, that room felt already occupied.
57:03Next time.
57:05I've got this.
57:06We're in London at a homelessness charity.
57:09Deserves has got two S's.
57:11Don't do this.
57:13The designers team up.
57:15And is your bum right behind me?
57:17That's right.
57:18To turn bland communal areas.
57:20Simi, see you.
57:22Into uplifting spaces.
57:24Woo!
57:24Are you stretching in any way there are?
57:27I don't think anything's moving.
57:33The only daughter of a notorious crime family and finding love ain't easy.
57:37A new darkly comic drama, Mint, on iPlayer.
57:40A very first tentative step into romance for some.
57:43It's new for them and new for BBC Three now.
57:45Better date than never.
