Colombia es, por segundo año consecutivo, el país en donde más asesinan a líderes ambientales, según el último informe de Global Witness. Solo en el año 2020 fueron asesinados 65 líderes y lideresas ambientales, siendo el departamento del Cauca (20) la zona más peligrosa. Allí, las mujeres indígenas como Celia Umenza luchan por defender la tierra y sus recursos bajo amenazas, según dicen, de grupos paramilitares, guerrilleros e incluso del propio Estado.
