00:21If you want to know what I've been doing for the last four years, I was in a cult, man.
00:29In 2017, there was a lot of Caucasian male killing a lot of black people.
00:36A lot of black people seemed to be dying all the time at the hands of people that were supposed
00:40to be protecting us.
00:42You know this is not how life's supposed to be. Get to the sun.
00:47Nature Boy definitely made it seem like what he had for the black community was a utopia.
00:53We are Melanation. We are here to show you who you are.
00:58The end-all be-all solution for every single black person in the world.
01:03Known as Nature Boy. Nature Boy. Nature Boy.
01:06It was like waking up in paradise.
01:09There were a ton of people coming from all over the world.
01:12The beautiful nature places that he would go to.
01:16Oh my goodness, everybody wanted to experience that.
01:18Melanation is out here for you.
01:21Nature Boy's use of social media seemed to bridge the gap between an online influencer and a street preacher.
01:30Log on, Melanation TV.
01:32Nature Boy was going live on Instagram a lot. It was clear to see that he wanted to build the
01:36following.
01:36Is this thing working?
01:39We took it off to become leaders of the black community.
01:43It's gonna heal my people from slavery.
01:46He was obsessed with filming himself.
01:49We got the police out there. They can't fuck with us.
01:52He has no understanding that he's filming his own demise.
01:58It's cult leader 101. I'm God. You should listen to me.
02:01I'm here forever. I am the black man. I am God.
02:05Fight!
02:33I'm gonna give y'all a pan around. We're in the middle of the river, man.
02:36I'm gonna teach you how to become pure, get away from negative ass people.
02:40The key is to isolate yourself. Remember, this journey is your own.
02:49The first post that I saw of Melanation was a video of Nature Boy himself sitting on a rock in
02:58the middle of a river in Costa Rica.
03:00Look at how beautiful your people is.
03:02Some of the initial things that I heard Nature Boy say were things like, just simple, like, let's get back
03:09into nature.
03:10That was huge for him.
03:11Squad in the building. You?
03:13He would have videos where he would be in nature.
03:16We are the heroes of the black community. We are the pioneers in the beginning of this.
03:21Nature Boy definitely made it seem like what he had for the black community was a utopia.
03:27He would make it look good online. The beautiful nature places that he would go, oh my goodness, everybody wanted
03:33to experience that.
03:34Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful and green places that you could live.
03:40I thought I was joining a group that was desiring to leave the commotion of the city life, of, you
03:53know, the hustle and bustle, the nine to five.
03:55Your bills are basically what you're working for. You get caught up in this trap.
03:59A group that wanted to be more simple, more natural, more sustainable. A group that was about health, that was
04:10about solving issues nonviolently.
04:13We don't need to be violent. We don't need to be angry. All we need to do is become one
04:20with nature.
04:33I was born and raised in Butler, Georgia. Racist, segregated.
04:40My prom was the first prom where black people and white people went together.
04:46They are making history with their school's first integrated prom.
04:50If you want to be successful in this world, then you have to do well academically.
04:55So that's what my theme was. Straight A's all the way throughout school.
05:0018, graduate, go to college, went into the military shortly after that, 2009.
05:10Once I left the military, it's like, what do I do now?
05:14There was a void present because the military provided me a sense of belonging for eight years.
05:20Brotherhood, network, huge.
05:22For the first time in a long time, I felt like I didn't belong anywhere.
05:31This is a movement.
05:35Y'all better get here and hurry up, baby.
05:44When I first heard about Melanation, it was about 2017.
05:50The president-elect of the United States, Donald John Trump.
05:55The Trump thing going on a lot in America around that time.
05:59There was a lot of cops killing a lot of black people.
06:03Of course, it was easy to believe that we're supposed to be separated from society
06:08because that was happening a lot in our community.
06:11Get out of the car!
06:13I will light you up! Get out!
06:15Wow!
06:15Now!
06:20Hey, bro, put your fucking hands on the car!
06:26All of these things collectively provided an avenue for me to be like, I'm done with America.
06:35Reflection, listen to me. Don't let nobody stop you from manifesting what you want.
06:412017 was the first time that YouTube recommended me a Nature Boy video.
06:48Y'all ready to go deep again? I'm the master teacher. None of y'all can fuck with me, homie.
06:53I speak actual facts.
06:55The master teacher drops never before her information video. It had 500,000 views on it.
07:01Nothing dies in nature, because it's immortal. It feeds off itself. It sustains itself.
07:07I'm like, wow, there's a lot of people that are watching this, so it must mean that this must have
07:14some truth to it.
07:15I'm thinking that because it has 500,000 views, that that equates to 500,000 people.
07:22And so that was a major part in my indoctrination process of continuing to watch more and more videos.
07:34We are Melanation. We are here to show you who you are.
07:39You can't tell me I ain't home.
07:41Everything online seemed cool.
07:43This is Costa Rica right here. We at the market, bailing our food out of jail.
07:48Coconut gang.
07:49Mango, mango.
07:51It was about peace. It was about nature. It was about the sun. It was about living healthy and simple.
07:57Like, that's what it was being presented as.
07:59They're cool people.
08:11My name is Velvet Marquez. I am from New Orleans, Louisiana.
08:16When I was younger, my parents never took me outside of my community.
08:20We weren't in more ginger-fied places of New Orleans where rich people live.
08:26In our community, people who are of the minority, we experience extreme poverty.
08:34We do not have access to adequate housing, adequate food sources.
08:41I just didn't want to be depressed anymore. I didn't want to feel lonely anymore. I felt invisible.
08:48Like, I was just so different from everybody else and didn't have a place in the world.
08:53I was deep into college and I found social media to be a place for me to express myself. Nature
08:59Boy was in my feed. And so I started to look at the tribe.
09:04Melanation is the perfect group to join because you're going to be around that melanin.
09:11Melanin is what creates the pigment in your eyes, fear, and skin.
09:18Melanation was geared more toward the idea that if you had more melanin, then you were closer to the earth.
09:26We are all reflections and refractions of the sun.
09:31This was a group of African-Americans, darker skinned people, what we would call melanated people, coming together for our
09:41cause.
09:42So this was revolutionary to me.
09:45I felt immediately like, wow, this is a group of people where I can express myself and I could potentially
09:54be heard.
09:55This could be where my life changes for the better.
10:01What's going on, y'all? I'm OMEC. You can find me on Facebook at OMEC the Ancient.
10:06After watching many of the videos, I decided to reach out to one of the people in the group
10:12who I thought I would have a natural, genuine, pure connection with.
10:19His name is OMEC.
10:22Two weeks went by through our exchange of conversation, ideas, the mind, the heart.
10:30On a very spiritual level, I thought I found the love of my life.
10:35My mind was just like, gotta be with you, gotta be there, gotta be close to you.
10:41I wanna see how this evolves in real life.
10:46I had never left the United States. I did not have a passport.
10:50So I put one foot in front of the other to get my passport.
10:54And I was like, I'm gonna go.
10:57I just absolutely knew that I was not coming back.
11:00I knew that this was the end of me ever experiencing being in the States ever again.
11:19Flying to Costa Rica and meeting OMEC for the first time was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever
11:28had in my life.
11:32As we were driving from the airport, the scenery outside of the vehicle was just mountains on top of mountains
11:40for stretches of miles.
11:44Me and OMEC were so wrapped into each other, my world disappeared.
11:48I remember thinking to myself, like, my romantic desire, dream has come true.
12:01When we finally arrived, OMEC introduced me to Nature Boy.
12:05When he first opened his mouth was when my world got dark.
12:11I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
12:14I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
12:25Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
12:29Nature Boy was 34 years of age when I initially met him.
12:34Physically, his appearance was very attractive.
12:37But outside of his physical attractiveness, to me, he just was, like, a father.
12:44I just pictured him as a father.
12:46Like, his demeanor, like, all of his mannerisms was just, like, dad vibes.
12:52And that's how I saw him.
12:53I looked at him as, like, a guru.
12:55You know, so I had a lot of respect for him.
12:57It's like having respect for God in a way.
13:05As we started getting into the more detailed parts of their everyday life, I thought it was cool.
13:12It was different.
13:13You know, they lived out of tents at the time.
13:17They had a home.
13:21Nice kitchen.
13:23This is so good.
13:25Huge yard.
13:28It was like waking up in paradise everyday.
13:32Going from a place where it was hard and just depressive to a place of liberation, being free.
13:44I just literally felt like I was inhaling life.
13:54These people are from Louisiana, New York.
13:58They're from all over the states.
14:00And so there's a level of familiarity involved.
14:04It's like, oh, man, these people, you know, come from where I come from.
14:07They understand the racism, injustice that I've experienced in America, you know?
14:22My name is Chantel.
14:24I go by The T on YouTube.
14:27And I was introduced to Melanation via Nature Boy, AKA Elegio.
14:32I would watch him all the time.
14:35Melanation is out here for you.
14:37I'm gonna show you how EJ is cultivating the land.
14:40It was appealing probably to people who were looking for community or looking for, um, to live off-grid.
14:48But what it looks like to someone like me is Elegio just selling a dream, a pipe dream.
14:57Anybody that got any common sense can feel that something's coming.
15:06He felt that this is where I belong because I have autonomy out here.
15:10I make the rules.
15:11I call the shots.
15:13And if people want to follow me, they can.
15:17Once anybody joins Melanation, you have no choice but to change your name.
15:21Usually your name comes from him.
15:24You're not a number.
15:25You're not a social security number.
15:26You're not a birth certificate.
15:27You're not your last name.
15:29You're a cosmic being with a sign.
15:31There was a belief that your name, as far as it pertains to your birth certificate, social security number, IDs,
15:39those things were an illusion.
15:41I refuse to be called Velvet because that is not me. Stop calling me Velvet.
15:46When he would call upon that name, he would call upon the character that's in his mind that you are.
15:52All right, so everybody, tell them your name, Reflection.
15:55My name is Key.
15:57I'm EJ.
15:59I'm OMEC.
15:59You can find me on Facebook at OMEC the Ancient.
16:03He would express on multiple occasions that if he had named you, he had some type of power over you.
16:09He needed to call me something else so that he can feel like he was the creator and orchestra of
16:16who I was to him in that moment.
16:19The name changes were really just Nature Boy flexing his muscle, asserting his power and dominance over these people.
16:26We are all doing witchcraft, so what someone calls you is summoning and invoking who you truly are.
16:37We were only able to eat certain items, and we only was able to eat things outside of what he
16:44originally told us to eat if he had consented.
16:46Nature is the way. You got to eat from the earth. You got to eat organic.
16:51It was really a, like, strict diet that he wanted us to follow because he wanted the public to believe
16:58that his way of life and his regimen behind eating was the healthiest.
17:03So that was another way he implemented structure.
17:09We call this the pot. This is not shit, poop, no. It's very sacred.
17:16The government is taking this and putting it in the toilet and disconnecting you from the universe.
17:24In the yard, everybody had their own tent that they would rest in at night.
17:30We were not allowed to use the restroom in the house. We were all ordered to use the restroom outside.
17:38Nature Boy's reasoning behind it, he wanted to limit the usage of the plumbing system because it wasn't healthy and
17:46it was contaminating our water.
17:48So, I was thinking to myself, how am I going to execute my first restroom experience?
17:58I woke up in the wee hours of the morning, my first night there, and I had to use the
18:05restroom so bad.
18:10I actually made a decision to go into the house and use the toilet.
18:18I let it loose.
18:21And I flushed the toilet, like, twice.
18:25That next morning, we congregated, and there was a talk about who went to the bathroom last night.
18:34I denied it.
18:36The following day, of course, I had to use the bathroom.
18:40So, then I started experiencing using it outside.
18:43And then eventually, I grew a tomato plant from my own poop.
18:50It was dead that serious.
18:55Tell them about what we got going on, EJ.
18:57This is tomato.
18:59These are tomatoes right here?
19:01Yeah, this is definitely tomato.
19:03You can smell it.
19:04It was like this extreme connection to nature.
19:08They would be talking about, you know, living off the land and using the bathroom in the woods instead of
19:12in the toilet because it connects them with nature.
19:15That's what a watermelon looked like.
19:16I want to show them something.
19:18I'm always eating watermelon.
19:20So, I empty my pot over here.
19:22This is where I empty my pot.
19:23Here you see the black seeds from the watermelon I eat.
19:27It's coming out right here.
19:29Seed.
19:30And look at this.
19:31Look at this coming out of my soil.
19:33Watermelon.
19:35Some people will look at it and be like, wow, this is some of the most bizarre nonsense I've ever
19:40heard.
19:40But a lot of people will see that and be like, this guy knows what he's talking about.
19:45And I should give up my life and join him.
19:58Come on, ladies. Where y'all at? Y'all want a real man? He's intelligent. He's a Virgo. That's a
20:04good man right here. He about 6'3".
20:06He recruited his members utilizing his current members. So, he would have his male members attract women. Women would reach
20:15out to them. They would be in their inboxes, trying to get them to come there. And he utilized those
20:21men to recruit them into the group.
20:24They need wives. We need some good women that's in tune with nature. They need goddamn wives.
20:29I never had dated a dark-skinned guy until I met Omak.
20:33This is EJ the ancient. This is Omak's wife. That's his direct.
20:38Nature Boy kept asking me questions like, are you sure you want to be with Omak? Do you sure you
20:42want to be with him? Do you sure you want to be in a relationship with him?
20:45It came across creepy to me, but I didn't take that personal. But it became uncomfortable for me because I
20:54was in a relationship.
20:57So, Legio, he didn't want any of those women to be with any of the guys there. He wanted them
21:02all for himself.
21:15I'm Alex. I'm from Toronto, Canada. My family's from Portugal. I had a very beautiful family, big family.
21:24As I got older, I just really loved sports, which kind of led me into fitness and becoming a bodybuilder.
21:35My story kind of starts back in 2016. I was watching all these documentaries about factory farming and why we
21:44shouldn't eat meat.
21:45What do we want? Animal liberation.
21:47When? Do we want it? Now.
21:49And I kind of fell really deep into that.
21:53The first video I seen of Nature Boy, he was in his apartment and he was showing his grocery haul.
21:58And that's kind of what intrigued me, seeing what he was eating.
22:02This is what I eat every day. I don't use a refrigerator, so I drink my water.
22:08Got water in here, pistachio.
22:11This is my transition before I go into Nature and move out of the country.
22:16His charisma really pulled me in. It was like, this guy's like some spiritual gangster.
22:25Welcome back, Reflection.
22:28I was like slowly building a relationship with Nature Boy online.
22:33And he was treating me like a brother, so I got a sense of, this guy likes me. He likes
22:38who I am.
22:40Come on in, Reflection.
22:41Nature Boy was going live on Instagram a lot, on YouTube.
22:46Listen to Nature Boy.
22:48Right now I'm about to show you how sex works.
22:50How your body works.
22:52The process of going from a viewer to actual involvement in the cult was gradual.
23:01I went from a viewer to a commenter.
23:04Now I'm getting actual responses back from them, so the engagement level has increased.
23:10This is a new level.
23:11Then the next level was actually speaking to them in real time.
23:17Right here we do this salute.
23:19It was clear to see that he wanted to build a following.
23:21Follow him on Facebook right now.
23:23He wanted people to know who he was.
23:26And he wanted his message to get out there.
23:29Whatever you take, give back.
23:31And life will be full of blessings.
23:33Share the video.
23:35When I was watching online, I'd never seen any white people.
23:38But he did also say that being white is not a disadvantage.
23:42That you can build this up, you can tan, you can get darker.
23:45And then Kayla showed up.
23:47I'm really starting to get settled in here.
23:50And that was the first white person I'd seen with Nature Boy.
23:52So that whole stigma of, oh, this is only for black people kind of changed.
23:56We start tonight with the bizarre story about a Cornerbrook woman who's now in Costa Rica living in what she
24:03calls a cult.
24:04I host a podcast called the Nighttime Podcast, which covers unique and offbeat Canadian stories.
24:10Kayla Reed left Cornerbrook under the guise of attending a church conference in late February.
24:16Then she was reported missing.
24:19So I was watching the story of the disappearance of the missing person, Kayla Reed, when the revelation came out
24:25that she appeared in the background of a Costa Rican preacher's YouTube channel.
24:33Yeah, I've never been so happy.
24:36I'm becoming happier and happier every day here.
24:39I really feel like I'm with my family.
24:41I started watching the story and trying to understand how a young woman from Newfoundland ended up across the world
24:48in a YouTube video.
24:50So this is the things that he would have his members do before they could join.
24:54Leave your family.
24:55You have to separate yourself from your own family.
24:59Isolate yourself and only listen to me.
25:02Attachments have been given to you that you must overcome.
25:05Stop the illusion of family.
25:07I'm your family.
25:10I was almost speechless at just how intense he was.
25:14It certainly left me with concern over the people with him because it was clear that no part of this
25:22was an act.
25:23You know this is not how life's supposed to be.
25:26Get to the sun.
25:27I can only imagine how concerned her parents were.
25:31They put out Nature Boy to be some kind of criminal.
25:36A cult leader.
25:37But they never tell you what my cult is about.
25:42What really stood out to me was how much power Nature Boy or Elijah Bishop had within that group, within
25:51that tribe.
25:53I'm a culture and a culture is to live in harmony with nature.
25:56The media in Canada was using the term cult and he was defending himself saying we are not a cult.
26:02We're a culture.
26:04I think from my experience and everything I saw, it would fit that stereotypical definition of cult.
26:11Cult leader is a person who recognizes vulnerabilities that every human being has and exploits those vulnerabilities.
26:19To manipulate people to get them to do what they want them to do.
26:24Did I call you like, hey, come join us. Be here with us.
26:29Am I controlling or manipulating your mind?
26:31Her family started to get involved because they noticed that it was in fact a cult.
26:37Wait, isn't Nature Boy a prejudice? Isn't he racist? How does he have white people there?
26:44Her family involved the consulate, they involved the government, they involved everyone that they could think of to make enough
26:52noise and get enough people involved in their plight to get her home.
26:57Well, Elijah Bishop is a 34 year old from Atlanta, Georgia.
27:01In our conversation, he was adamant Reed traveled to Costa Rica on her own accord and had not been brainwashed.
27:08Bishop adds that Kayla is free to go whenever she wants to leave.
27:13Yeah, I'm going back to Canada.
27:18The first interview that I did with Kayla was days after she returned to Canada.
27:24You are tuned to the Nighttime Podcast. Now, here is your host, Jordan Boneparty.
27:31How did you feel hearing that, you know, people were looking for you?
27:36When I first seen the news, like, I just thought it was kind of just ridiculous.
27:41Can you tell me about why you left?
27:43We had a meeting and Nature Boy had decided that I should head back because of all the hype.
27:51Kayla brought the attention, national attention to this group.
27:55People started really watching who this cult leader is and what ideology he's spreading.
28:01So I really couldn't fathom at the time, like, how big it was.
28:05I just was like, oh, shit, we ended up on the news.
28:07It spread like wildfire.
28:12I got my one way to Costa Rica.
28:16They called themselves Melanation.
28:18Young people claiming to understand the truths of the world.
28:21I'm the cult leader. I'm Nature Boy.
28:23What do you think of the people saying it's a cult?
28:26I think that Canada is a cult, like, the U.S. is a cult.
28:31He's a blessing, that rare breed.
28:34My inbox jam-packed with the one question, how do I join?
28:38It was just further spreading his message deeper into social media and across multiple social media platforms.
28:45Somewhere along the way, that turned into a large group of followers who hung off his every wish and command.
28:52When I speak to you, I speak with authority.
28:55What I'm doing is beyond Martin Luther King.
28:57I love myself.
28:59No, some of y'all need to hear this shit.
29:01My mindset at that time was to go to Costa Rica and literally never come back.
29:16When I first got to Costa Rica, it was really such an amazing experience.
29:21I'm in a new country, the air smells different, the fruit tastes better.
29:25But maybe going here to where Nature Boy is, that's where I'll find my truth.
29:30Big mistake, though.
29:34I head up to this mountaintop where he was living.
29:38The trip was really cool. We were, like, driving up a mountain.
29:42The views were impeccable, like, incredible.
29:46I think I was just super excited, ready to meet Nature Boy.
29:55It was, like, a big bro, like, big hug.
29:59Shook my hand.
30:00And it was a good feeling, like, it was cool.
30:02It felt like I was meeting someone that I was meant to meet.
30:06By the time I got to the group, there was 13 of us.
30:10For me, it was very exciting.
30:12Everyone was super friendly.
30:13It was a very warm welcome.
30:18Day one, bags are checked.
30:21What you brought with you.
30:23And I think this is the first moment where I was kind of a bit alarmed,
30:26because they were asking for me to give my debit card
30:29to the cardholder for everyone's debit cards and finances.
30:35I was kind of like, whoa.
30:37Is this good to do? Like, is this all right to hand over my debit card?
30:42Everybody puts money into the pot.
30:43We give everything that we have to our group.
30:46He initially started out utilizing money from his barbershop business,
30:51which he had sold.
30:52He started to get donations, as well, from a lot of people that wanted to follow him.
30:57$300,000.
30:59That was the biggest lump sum he'd ever received.
31:04If you truly gonna heal, it's gonna cost you.
31:08And you gonna need every fucking penny.
31:12The financial support came from people who legitimately go to Melanation
31:18and willingly give their finances because they believe in what it is that he's saying.
31:24They believe in him.
31:26I was one of the people who came with roughly $3,000 left over from my college tuition,
31:32and I was like, here, you can have it.
31:34Nature Boy calls it putting in the pot, which means, like, we all pool resources to keep afloat.
31:40We all want frequency. We want family. We put our chips together.
31:44Any money that any member had access to, it was his.
31:51What he would tell them is that I provide for the group, but I'm gonna keep a portion for myself,
31:57too.
31:58I was like, oh, we're a family. We all pitch in.
32:01I'm still gonna eat. I'm still gonna be able to go on these adventures, so just go for it.
32:10Then a lot of weird stuff started happening in terms of purchases.
32:19We went to the mall one day, and for some reason we bought a ping pong table with my credit
32:24card, which was $800.
32:26I was like, why do we need this?
32:29But I didn't want to question it because we were all very scared to question things.
32:38Nature Boy was somebody who wanted to start a movement, make it go worldwide, make it go viral,
32:44and just bring in people to control their money, to control their body, to control their mind, and to control
32:53their life in every aspect.
32:55That's what a cult is to me.
32:58Listen to me very fucking carefully. Move to Costa Rica.
33:04There was definitely an aggressive side to him, a very egotistical side to him, where he was the leader, and
33:11no one could overpower that.
33:12There are laws, demands, things that you must obey.
33:18If you didn't do what he said to do, you were quickly humiliated, you were quickly devalued amongst the group.
33:25It became, do what he tell you to do or else.
33:30You will obey the laws of nature, or you will punish.
33:48We decided to go on a drive to Limon.
33:56We were driving in the van, and we reached this police stop that we had passed already, but this time
34:02we got stopped.
34:04Nature Boy starts a live video.
34:06Everybody here with me? Melanation with me?
34:09We want to let y'all know what's going on. We got the police out there.
34:14We were well over six months' worth of passports not being stamped.
34:20Nature Boy encouraged all of us to not get the passports stamped because he didn't want to be a slave
34:27of the United States.
34:29He found that to be a way to be revolutionary and make a statement.
34:34We're not these people.
34:35Them names don't mean nothing. That's not our names.
34:39Those are the corporations' names. They belong to a bank.
34:42We don't belong to a bank. We belong to the earth.
34:44I'm not getting off this bus, and we ain't getting off this bus.
34:47We've been moving as a unit. They try to make us separate. We're not separating, bruh.
34:51When Nature Boy started to riot over the internet, this made the police angry because they didn't want to force
34:58us to do anything.
35:00They just wanted to understand why we weren't stamping our passports.
35:05They say, you can't sign the document. Each one is going to make you sign, and you can't go free.
35:09That is not no problem.
35:10We don't want to sign no papers.
35:13Nature Boy encouraged all of the Melanation members to not get off the bus and fight for our rights.
35:20I'm staying on this bus, bro. I'm willing to die for this. I told y'all.
35:23Bro, you're going to have to kill me up in here, and I just want you to know if I
35:25die, I love every motherfucking one of y'all. I did this for you.
35:28He's basically telling us we're going to die for the truth tonight, and that just scared the shit out of
35:33me.
35:33They can't fuck with us. I want you to know you have to stand up and not be a slave.
35:38All of you.
35:40If you could imagine just like a drum beating in your heart like, boom, boom, boom, boom, like, I just
35:46didn't know what, you know, was going to happen.
35:48No! No! No! No!
35:52Aligio would always make it a point to livestream these moments, these events.
35:58He was doing so not only for the purpose of garnering sympathy from the public, but also, I believe, trying
36:07to attract new members as well.
36:09I love you, too. I love you, too. I love you, too. I love you, too. I love you, too.
36:15Damn, this video's fucked. I just went right under the bus seat to protect myself.
36:21No! No!
36:23I think after that video went live, a lot of people, even from my own friend group and family, they
36:28seen it, and they were very alarmed.
36:30And they were trying to contact me if I was okay. And I think just that whole video was the
36:36breaking point for me, watching it back and seeing.
36:39Just, it was, it was very horrifying, the ending of that video.
36:43No!
36:46And it's something that I have, to this day, a hard time watching, because those screams at the end, they
36:52kind of haunted me.
36:58By resisting, they complicated the situation, but we always handled it with the necessary force to control the situation.
37:06And at no time was there any kind of abuse or offense against them.
37:12They beat us down, Flexion. They beat us down.
37:16He calls that, it happened for no reason.
37:20It happened because Nature Boy directed his followers to break the law.
37:24That's why they were bruised up.
37:26It had to be pulled from the van.
37:33Cops pulled me into their office.
37:36And they said, you, you're free to go.
37:39And I was just like, okay, what the hell just happened?
37:43I'm allowed to leave?
37:49I'm at a hostel in Costa Rica.
37:51I'm just laying low for now.
37:54And letting things settle.
37:56But I'm no longer a part of that.
37:58Whatever Melanation was, I no longer want anything to do with it.
38:03I think what changed for me was just being put in a situation where I literally felt like I was
38:08gonna die and be put in danger.
38:10Which I felt was so unnecessary.
38:13Because we didn't have to go through all that.
38:15We could have just got off the bus and dealt with what the cops wanted.
38:19Instead of creating a whole commotion.
38:20But I think that's what his intention was.
38:22So that it can get a bunch of views.
38:24And people can find out who this guy was.
38:27Nature Boy is not what you think he is.
38:30A lot of you are stuck under his manipulation.
38:32The spell that he puts out.
38:35That's so good, man.
38:36I was in it.
38:40When I came back to regular life, I just wanted to shut it all off.
38:44I deleted all my social medias.
38:46I didn't want anything to do with Nature Boy.
38:52At that time, their tourist visas and legal stay in the country had expired.
38:57So they were deported.
39:07They had just got kicked out of Costa Rica.
39:10We are safe. We are okay.
39:12He was saying how they were treated.
39:15They treated us like slaves.
39:17Like slaves, slaves, slaves.
39:20And what they were subjected to.
39:22They scared of the black man.
39:25We're strong.
39:26We're tall. And we're black.
39:28Oh, they'll take our woman. They love our music.
39:31But the black man is a motherfucking threat.
39:34By now, I'm watching the lives, like, consistently.
39:37He would say, like, that we were in hell if we stayed in America.
39:41If you were not able to sacrifice your life for what is righteous, then you will be in hell forever.
39:48And so I was ready to get out of hell.
39:51I packed one backpack and put, like, whatever clothes I could fit in there.
39:56I bought my ticket and I didn't tell anyone a thing.
39:59I blocked all my family members' numbers.
40:04And I just got on the flight.
40:07Y'all better be glad they didn't kill me.
40:11Because my work is not done yet.
40:13I am the truth. I am God.
40:15I can't be killed.
40:45I am God.
40:46I am the truth. I ah'm the truth.
40:51And I was like, wait for a few years.
40:54My friend Whisty and Soul and Soul is coming into a place and afinfiction.
