Ingredients: 500 g ground beef mince 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp plain flour 1/2 cup beef broth or beef stock 1 tsp Dijon mustard 1 tsp soy sauce 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Salt and black pepper, to taste 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 200°C / 400°F. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the onion until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the ground beef mince and cook until browned. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add beef broth, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer until thick and glossy, then let cool slightly. Cut puff pastry to fit your pie pans. Line the pans with pastry, add the mince filling, and top with cheddar cheese. Cover with more pastry, seal the edges, and brush with egg wash. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool slightly before serving.
