Two off-duty firefighters, Mohamad Anas Elyas and Muhammad Athir Maula Mat Esaha, became unlikely heroes on April 19 after rescuing two women from a burning food stall in Felda Sungai Tiang, Pendang.

Both men were later presented with certificates of appreciation by the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department director.

00:18Fortunately, among the diners at the food court were two off-duty firefighters who jumped into action.

00:45were represented with certificates of appreciation.
00:49Mohamed Anas, who was attached to the Kedah JBPM Operations Center,
00:53said the only thing on their minds was to save the victims first.
00:58Mohamed Athir, meanwhile, urged all business owners, especially food stall operators,
01:04to keep fire extinguishers on hand, as incidents could happen unexpectedly.
01:10Awang Hidzel echoed the call, adding that the department was grateful
01:14both victims were saved without serious injuries.
