00:00Taiwan's stock market is continuing its historic rally, with its benchmark index hitting 40,000 two days in a row.
00:07The TyEx reached that high point for the first time ever on Monday before closing down slightly.
00:13The index has grown over 10,000 points since the start of the year, a rise of around 35 percent.
00:18That growth has been driven by strong performance from tech companies, led by chip giant TSMC.
00:24It's also recently pushed the TyEx past the London Stock Exchange to become the seventh largest in the world.
