00:00give us a bit more detail about the security that you labeled as fair is this normal because you've
00:06been to many of these events so is it always fair or has security been more been better in other
00:14years what do you think well i i felt uh you know i have a white house credential and i
00:19brought that
00:19and i didn't have to show it all i had to show was my ticket to the dinner and my
00:24table and i showed
00:26that and then i was asked to empty out my pockets a few times and i had to go and
00:31check my umbrella
00:32because it was raining and i did that and i came back in and the secret service were very polite

00:38very professional but i wasn't really asked to show any strong serious identification that i that i
00:46normally do even when i go to the white house the event is not highly high level like an inauguration
00:54so uh it was it's kind of different but i thought they did the best they were going to do
00:59but the
00:59best thing about the secret service was that they really recovered well at the end and and made sure
01:07that everyone was safe except of course for cole thomas allen who was brought down by the secret
01:12service as he tried to get through he did get through the megatometers on the upper level and then
01:18he wanted wanted to go down the staircase into the ballroom where i was sitting and he didn't get
01:24that far which is probably a good thing because to be honest with you katyana uh i had fear that
01:32when i
01:32saw the crowd moving and it felt like an earthquake the the ground was moving from under me and i
01:38thought
01:38if someone is coming in here and is going to spray us with some uh automatic weaponry we're done for
01:47so that was the most frightening thing and large outside the perimeter was a huge uh secret service
01:57national guard uh etc and all over town all the way from the white house up uh up connecticut avenue

02:05the hotel however something we may note that this fellow cole thomas allen was a registered guest in
02:13the hotel and he he was he was staying at the hotel and i understand he had a lot of
02:20weaponry with him
02:21long guns uh pistols attack knives etc and that's the thing now the question is i know sue will wills
02:32suzy willis is having a meeting today with the leading uh agencies cia etc and and secret service
02:41i should say in in with protocol review i guess of how things are supposed to happen what happened what
02:50didn't happen and uh i think the fact that it was at a hotel the biggest ballroom in town that's

02:57have it there for so many years that it will be happened happened to be re-examined as to whether
03:04it's done there again or whether it's done at all but it's a shame because it's a good way for
